Chapter 4
"Speaking"...
flashbacks...
Welcome rangers to chapter 4 sorry for the bit of a cliffhanger I promise it won't happen to often, but it will happen occasionally. Anyways on to chapter four where we get our first flashback. I hope ye enjoy and I'll see ya peeps at the end of this chapter.

"What was that" I exclaimed as me and Kinana sprinted up the stairs
"My best guess is that someone put a stop to the brawl" she said as we reached the top of the stairs and turned the corner.
"How many times do I have to tell you boys not to fight" a redhead said slamming both ironclad gauntlets on Gray and Natsu's heads
"Honestly it get's very tiring keeping my eye on you two" she said with a huff
As the armored woman made her way to me and Kinana I took in one of the only women that would make me piss myself if her anger was directed at me it was the one and only Titania otherwise known as Erza Scarlet. I saw Kinana come back from around the corner holding a plate of strawberry cake, probably the only weakness to Erza Scarlet
"Thank you Kinana" Erza said taking a seat a the counter
"Of course" Kinana responded
Before Erza could start on her slice of cake me and her locked eye's and I immediately flinched her eye's held so much strength and composer it was honestly kind of frightening. Then her eyes softened along with a smile on her face
"And who might you be?" she questioned
"...I'm Chris and I just joined Fairy Tail today" I responded with a slight stutter not expecting her face to flip to that of curiosity and gentleness so fast.
"Well it is nice to meet you Chris I'm Erza, I also see your helping out at the bar that's good we could always take the help considering how the people here drink like crazy" Erza said with a smile
"Hey Erza are Natsu and Gray going to be okay you kind of hit them pretty hard?" I said with worry in my voice as I looked at the unconscious body's of Gray and Natsu
"Oh, that they'll be fine I've hit them harder in the past and they always just bounce right back" Erza said turning back around to face me
"So how did you and Wendy's job go?" Kinana spoke up
"It went well the beast was a formidable opponent but with Wendy backing me up with her support magic it went by like a breeze" Erza said
"Where is Wendy?" I responded hoping that I could meet the adorable dragon slayer
"She and Carla headed to Fairy Hills since Carla forced her to rest" Erza said
"So Chris answer me this, what type of magic do you use?" Erza asked
"Well to my knowledge it has something to do with plants" I responded
"What do you mean by something to do with plants?" Erza questioned
Before I could answer Kinana answered for me.
"He's actually never used magic before and just today he found out he can use magic" She said
"Thats quite interesting I've never heard of someone your age only just finding out that they could use magic. Well if you want someone to train you I would gladly help" Erza said
"I appreciate it but Gray and Juvia promised to help me train" I said slightly relieved, as cool as it would be to fight with Erza I think I'd be to scared to.
"No worries I'm sure Gray and Juvia will do a great job, but if you ever change your mind I'll gladly help" she said
"Well Chris I say it's about time we head back to work" Kinana said
"You got it" I said
The rest of the day went by with me and Kinana serving drinks out to fellow guildmates and some idle chitchat here and there. Before I knew it, it was closing time. The only people that were still in the guild were me, Kinana, Gray, and Juvia. Natsu and Happy left a little while ago with Lucy in tow yelling at Natsu saying that they had to go on another job since he ruined the last one.
"Well Chris I say your first day was a rounding success considering it was your first day, so how did you like it?" Kinana said to me as she was putting away clean glasses on the shelf
"It was everything I expected it to be" I said with a smile
"That's good to hear, and for helping out here is a small cut of the profits we made today" She said placing a small bag filled with money in my open palm
"Thanks Kinana I really appreciate it" I said taking the small bag
"Are you kidding me I should be the one thanking you, you did such a great job it felt like I was working with someone who had done this for years" she said
"Let's just say I have a knack for this I just hoping learning magic comes to me as easy as this does" I said with a slight chuckle
All of a sudden the most wonderful sound I haven't heard in years blessed my ears. I looked over to see who was making the sound and I saw that Kinana was laughing, and just like that memories came flooding back
"Hey Chris what's the answer to this question" Megan said as I turned my head to look at her paper
"That one is so easy the answer is x=17 squared plus pie" I said to her
"Well look at you smarty-pants" Megan said playfully nudging me
"What it is actually pretty easy, you were probably just distracted by my good looks" I said flexing my muscles
Megan then started to laugh
"Oh you wish Lover boy" she said resting her head on my shoulder
I looked down at her and we shared in one of our many passionate kisses
"I love your laugh it always puts a smile on my face, it's one of the many things I love about you" I said with a big grin
"Well I love you for your funny jokes" Megan said looking up at me with eyes full of love
"Is that the only thing you love about me?" I said with a smirk
"Yep" Megan said laughing
"Thats it your so going to get it" I said tickling her and listening to her giggles that brought so much life into my world
Once I stopped we stared into each others eyes for god knows how long
"I'll always love you" I said to her
"Me also cause we complete each other, and there is no one I'd rather be with" she said as she hugged me
I grinned at the love of my life and the greatest thing to ever happen to me in this shitty life.
"Chris, Chris...Chris are you in there!?"
"Sorry Kinana did you say something to me?" I asked
"You started spacing out and I tried calling your name multiple times but you didn't answer, and you also have a tear rolling down your cheek" she said worriedly
I put a hand to my face and I felt something warm and wet on my cheek. All of a sudden my brain processed the things I just remembered and I felt more tears coming.
"I'm okay I'll see ya tomorrow" I said sprinting towards the guild doors feeling the hot tears running down my face
"Chris wait-" Kinana said but the doors cut off the rest of her sentence
I didn't even know where I was running to all I knew is I didn't want the people still in the guild to see me cry like this. After running for a couple minutes I found myself in a secluded park with a couple benches and a small water fountain glistening in the moonlight. I couldn't even process how long I sat on one of the benches and cried for. Why, why did Kinana's laugh sound just like Megan's I thought to myself
"Why..why did you have to die?" I said out loud when I felt more fresh tears going down my face
"Why did who have to die?" said a quiet female voice
I turned my watery eyes around and what greeted me was Juvia. How did she find me I wondered. I was gonna ask how but that wasn't important right now.
"I'd like to be alone right now Juvia" I said rubbing away my tears
"But Juvia can see your in pain and that you need someone to comfort you" she said with sadness as she took a seat next to me
"Juvia will stay right here as long as it takes, since that is what family does" she said with compassion
"I'm sorry you have to see me like this Juvia, but I really like to be alone I'm always alone when I get like this" I said looking down
I then felt a warm presence engulf me I then looked up to see Juvia hugging me.
"Juvia knows better then anyone its not good to cry alone" she said with tears in her eyes
I was about to snap at her and tell her she doesn't know what she is talking about, but then I remembered that before she meet Gray and joined Fairy Tail she was a wreck. She wasn't called the Rain Woman just for her magic but also cause of her past.
"Juvia just wants to help she knows what it is like to cry alone. Juvia just doesn't want Chris to do the same thing she used to do" she said shedding a couple tears
I looked at her crying face and I gently hugged her back. We stayed like that for a couple minutes until I gently pushed away.
"Thanks Juvia I guess I needed that. That was the first time I let someone comfort me when I would get like this" I said rubbing away the remainder of my tears
"Of course that is what family does for each other" she said also rubbing away a couple of her tears
We stayed like this just sitting on the bench and looking at the flowing water coming from the fountain till I eventually spoke up.
"Hey Juvia can we keep what happened here between you and me. I don't want everyone else at the guild knowing" I said looking at her
"Juvia will, but can Juvia ask a question?" she said looking at me
"Go ahead" I said already knowing what she was goanna say
"Before Juvia made herself known Juvia heard you say why did you have to die. Can Juvia ask who this person was I feel like it wasn't your father who you were talking about though" she asked
"Your right it wasn't about my father, but I'm sorry I can't tell you" I said
"That's okay Juvia can understand" she said getting up
"Oh before Juvia forgets Kinana wanted me to let you know that she was sorry if it was her fault for making you cry and that you needed to wake up bright and early tomorrow to do training with Mirajane" Juvia said
"Okay thanks for letting me know" I said looking at the sky
"Goodnight Chris" she said
"Goodnight Juvia" I said looking at her retreating figure
I then felt words come to me that I never thought I would say, but considering it was Juvia I said them.
"Hey Juvia the person I was talking about, I'm sorry I can't tell you but I hope one day that I will be able too" I said
Juvia then smiled at me "Juvia will wait however long and when your ready Juvia will listen" she said nodding at me, and with that she left
I continued to sit on the bench looking up at the twinkling stars for about half an hour with thoughts racing though my head. Well I should probably get some sleep I'm goanna have another big day ahead of me.
And done whew the first flashback was kinda a pain to write I wasn't exactly sure how much I wanted to add cause I'm planning on adding more though out this story but I decided that this much was good enough for now to show you a peek into the relationship between Chris and Megan. Speaking of relationships I hope the family dynamic between Chris and Juvia was done well this chapter. Before I forget I have some bad news both my grandparents are sick with COVID and I've been helping them out the next chapter may not come out this Tuesday, but don't worry if the chapter doesn't come out on the scheduled time I will post two next Saturday.
