The phone ringing near her bed made Helena sit so fast she struck Wesker in the nose with her left hand. As she grabbed for her phone Wesker growled under his breath, some very choice expltives as Helena quickly answered her phone. The moment she hung up she turned to find him glaring at her, blood dripping from his nose and her eyes widened.
"I am so sorry, Wesker but I'm kind of jumpy right now." Helena apologized, grabbing the drawer next to her bed but by the time she finished rummaging around for a box of tissues she found that Wesker's nose had healed itself leaving fresh blood covering his nostrils, a few drops soaking into the bedsheets. "Whoa how did you do that?" Helena asked, reaching up to touch his nose and Wesker pulled away grasping her wrist.
"Jumpy is an understatement if you would break my nose, Helena." Wesker growled, the pain easing as he glared at her until she swallowed and noting the look of shock in her eyes he found himself chuckling. "Oh don't look so worried. I wouldn't hurt you over a broken nose." He added, running a hand through her hair and she snorted hoping he couldn't see how badly his anger had affected her.
"That's a relief, Wesker." Helena replied and Wesker just chuckled, setting her hand down on the bed before he brushed his fingers across her cheek. When he nodded towards the phone she sighed, wondering if he already knew that Umbrella had contacted her. "If you're wondering it was Umbrella. They were a little surprised that I survived the mansion but they wanted to give me a full medical."
"Helena, I thought you would be much more wary of your employer." Wesker sighed when she stared at him. "They don't want to help you, they want to grab you and drag you into their labs never to be heard from again. Trust me because I've worked for them much longer than you."
"What exactly would they do to me?" Helena asked, curious until Wesker explained in detail what would happen once she contacted them again she paled her eyes wide and he rolled his eyes. "Oh..."
"Helena, they want to know how you survived the mansion. The virus running through your veins saved you from becoming a zombie, bonding with you and if you walk back to Umbrella you won't be heard from again." Wesker told her, watching as she pressed her hands together shaking until he reached across and she froze staring at him as he covered her hands with his own. "That's why you need to sever all contact with Umbrella unless you want to end up as a lab experiment."
"So what happens to me now?" Helena asked in a quiet voice and Wesker's lips curled into a small smile as he lightly squeezed her hands.
"You could always come and work for me. Besides you're not the only one who has to sever all contact from Umbrella. Frankly I've been getting ready to leave Umbrella and work for myself but it isn't easy to just walk away from the company." Wesker suggested and after a pause Helena found herself nodding, getting a chuckle from the former Umbrella agent. "You barely even know me and you're still willing to work for me?"
"You couldn't be worse than working for Umbrella, Wesker." Helena replied and Wesker raised an eyebrow at her silent before she giggled. "I'm joking, Wesker." She laughed and he rolled his eyes darting forward so fast she let out a shriek, finding herself on her stomach seconds later.
"I hope so, Helena." Wesker answered, leaning over her and Helena yelped as he deftly slipped the back of her shirt up revealing pale skin. With a slight smirk Wesker leaned down his lips barely brushing the spot directly between her shoulders and Helena bites back a gasp, one hand clamped over her mouth once Wesker nipped her shoulder his tongue brushing the mark. "Someone's enjoying themselves." He taunted, chuckling sofly when Helena pushed her way back into a sitting position giving the former Umbrella agent a smirk on her lips which faded once she saw his eyes glowing.
"Albert, are you alright?" she whispered, meeting his eyes with one eyebrow raised at him. After an awkward silenec he finally shook himself and the glow faded from his eyes. Wesker pinched the bridge of his nose and Helena sighed, reaching over before she gave his left shoulder a light pat. "Look maybe you should rest for a while. Despite what you keep insisting you're clearly having toruble with the virus running through our systems."
"Hmph." Wesker muttered though when he grimaced Helena sighed and with an eyeroll aimed in his general direction she pushed at his shoulders, a slight smile on her lips when he lay back without any resistance. Shaking her head Helena watched on slightly amused as he curled up beside her.
"That's better. Why don't you get some rest? If you need anything just call out." Helena told him and Wesker just let out a low breath, feeling his body relax as Helena's fingers lightly massaged his scalp. Once Helena was sure that Wesker had fallen asleep she let out a breath, slowly climbing from the bed in an effort not to wake Wesker. Tiptoing across the bedroom floor she reached the door and with a quick glance to make sure he still hadn't woken she left the room, leaving the door open for him.
