22. Dealing with Devils

Chapter 22

When entering Nona's mind, we then were sent to the flea circus opening, where the flea version of Ford announced the circus.

"Augustus! Donatella! Dion! Frazie! Rasputin! Mirtala! Squeepie! And the Ghostly Rosie! And at the center of the show, beloved Nona! And where would she be without her lovely family?" the flea Ford said as Raz looked at me and Ford in concern.

"This is a false memory that Ford placed into Nona's mind to prevent her from remembering anything about you-know-who. We're going to have to go assist in these performances," I explained.

"I see... then let's go," Raz smirked as we then jumped into the fray and I forced mine and Raz's bodies to shrink BEFORE we headed in, so we wouldn't squish any of the fleas in the process. And when we did, we saw that the other fleas then looked at us with confusion.

"Wha? There are two of me? That's so weird!" said the flea version of me, who was just as see-through as I was, making me smirk.

"Not just her, but Raz, too! What's going on?" Frazie asked as I simply looked at the duo of fleas before smiling.

"We're uh... human versions of you guys. And we come from a different reality," I said, the fleas looking at each other before shrugging their multiple arms.

"Eh, best excuse I've heard," Dion frowned as they then dispersed and Ford looke at me with seriousness.

"You go help out with the performances, I'll keep Lucy calm," Ford said, me nodding at him as we then went to disperse. Raz started out by going to the knife throwing area to help Frazie and his dad while I went to assist the merry-go-round issue that was happening with Mirtala and Squeepie, the duo needing me to slow the ride down with the time bubble before I then hit the button on the inside, me then exiting the ride as the time bubble wore off and the ride stopped.

"Ooogh... I feel dizzy... let's do it again!" Mirtala giggled before Squeepie then proceeded to do his strongman act, me then going to meet back up with Raz for the final bit, which was helping out Dion, Donatella, and our flea selves do the rolling ball act. And we had to use 2 balls rather than the one. Raz did the first one and I did the second one, which was bigger than his and, when I put it in, it acted like a lid to the container.

"Wow! Amazing!" Flea Ford said with excitement as Nona then looked at me and Raz with a smile.

"Now it's time for the high dive, dearies," she said as she showed the area in question being a large ladder climb to the top of an area. I simply cheated with Raz and flew up there, only to find Nona at the top before she then giggled and jumped off the diving board, Raz and me following after, but not before we grabbed the one tag that I noticed, and we then followed after. Once we dove into the teacup, we slammed into an area that made Raz and Ford surprised.

"Huh... I don't recall a quilted part of the circus..." Raz admitted.

"This isn't what I expected... I made that circus part to get rid of her bad memories... maybe she made this for some reason..." Ford said... and it was then that we heard a voice.

"There is some reason for it. A very important reason," said a voice that made me shocked. I'd only heard it before in a mobile game, as I hadn't actually seen her in the show she originated from! And when I saw her, I was shocked.

"Ishizu Ishtar?" I asked in surprise. It was the only good egg of the different members of the grave keepers, with her only siblings turning into villains because of the millennium items. And she actually had the millennium necklace around her neck! And as for appearance, since most probably don't know, she was in a white robe that was very Egyptian, a matching white hood, the necklace and her having very sharp eyes placed upon her darkened skin.

"Yes, I am surprised that you actually knew of my name," she admitted.

"Well, your gravekeepers' deck helped me get to the title of King of Games in that one game, so I know you to a t... but why are you here?" I asked her.

"I am here because of the same Astralathe incident that sent Mitsy to this world as well as Alma Wade. Both of those instances and mine happened 20 years ago during the deluge of Grulovia, and both because of that machine. I want you to assist in defeating the monsters that are ahead. The demon awaits, as does his pet," she said, me nodding at her as we went through the quilted world, managing to get some backstory between Nona and her family, such as the fake memories of Ford making her believe that she was Augustus's mother, her lovely memories of the family, and the memory of her having a small moment of clarity and giving the pamphlet to me and Raz.

"You were the one to give me the pamphlet for Whispering Rock, Nona?" Raz asked, me nodding at him.

"But why would you do that?" I asked her, the old lady smiling and speaking after.

"I have these... little ideas from time to time... after a long day of tricks... and stretching the kids... and warning them to stay out of the water!... I remember things... awful things... but some good, right Crully?" Lucrecia asked, me smiling at her.

"I know, but these awful things need to be defeated. You and I both know this, Nona," Ishizu said, me smiling at how she called her that as well.

"I know... I just don't want things to unravel," she sighed, me smirking at how the final picture did just that and we went into the danger zone. And when we did, I immediately saw our foe, him being next to the locket that was blocking the route to Maligula.

"Well, well, well... I was wondering when you'd show up. And in such a timely manner, too..." Naraku said with a small, uncaring, yet still sinister smile. And I then knew I had to find the real one. I sensed that he wasn't the real one and that it was actually hiding out in the water, which I then proceeded to do something.

"I don't fall for your demon puppets as easily as your old foes, Naraku," I frowned as I then used the water to trap the true Naraku in a cage of water and ice, me then rushing to him and grabbing him by the arms, as I then did one thing. I did the speech that the Ghost Rider from Marvel would!

"Naraku the Half Demon. Your sins are innumerable. It is time to pay for your sins..." I said creepily before then engaging him with the Brain Blast skill that I'd learned from Alma. And when I did so, I realized one thing. It was EXTREMELY painful for both of us! It was painful for Naraku because he was literally being erased from memory from all of us... and it was painful for me because it was a very painful technique to do!

"AUGH! IT HURTS SO MUCH!" I shouted in pain as Naraku then growled at me.

"That's it! Give in to the pain! And give me what I desire!" Naraku shouted back, me then continuing despite it.

"I! WILL NOT! GIVE UP! NOT UNTIL YOU HAVE PAID FOR YOUR INNUMERAL SINS! For your crimes to my friends, for bringing those monsters to our world, for brainwashing not one, but THREE people! And for causing all of this misery, BURN IN HELL FOREVER!" I shouted, him then shouting one word as his body then started to disappear. Not just in physicality, but in mind, spirit, and temporality. He was being erased from the timeline itself!

"NAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo..." he shouted before turning into nothing but an echo as his body evaporated into nothingness and I then fell to the ground in pain.

"Ow..." I groaned as Raz, Ford, Ishizu, and Nona rushed to me as fast as they could and inspected me for damage.

"Are you okay, Rosie? That looked really hurtie..." Nona asked as I sighed.

"It was... it hurt a lot... now only one more hurdle remains..." I said as I looked at the dam in question.

"How do we do this effectively when you're down and out?" Ford asked.

"We go to plan B. We need to position the Astralathe to the dam and then blast a hole open in Nona's mind. A hole large enough and deep enough to where Maligula can never harm us again and will be nothing more than a forgotten memory," I said.

"But... what of the teleportation issue?" Ford asked... and that made me gasp.

"T-Teleportation! That's it! I can't believe I didn't think of that before!" I said in shock as I then pulled myself up through the pain and sensed for Maligula in the brain. I knew the PERFECT place to send her, where she would never hurt anyone ever again!

"Whoa... what are you thinking of, Rosie?" Raz asked as I smirked.

"Let's open the dam and then I'll show you," I said, him nodding as we then opened the locket and, the moment we did so, the dam started to burst, releasing the now-gigantic Maligula in the mind. I then focused on the Deluge of Grulovia herself and trapped her in a time bubble, which made her move super sluggishly.

"Wwwhhhhhhaaaaaaattttt... iiiiiissssss... ttthhhhhiiiiiiiissssss?" she asked while in slow motion as I then teleported her to one world. A world where water didn't exist. Which world was this?

"I hereby banish you from this old woman and send you to another dimension! Where water does not exist and where losers and bad guys get their comeuppance! You're bound for the Home for Infinite Losers!" I shouted, that making the others confused.

"What's that supposed to do?" Ishizu asked.

"It's another world's version of hell... but one that tortures some of the strongest monsters in the universe. She'll be tortured for quite a good while, and be completely outclassed by all," I said as I then teleported her to the HFIL from Dragonball Z itself! Sure, it was called hell, but I wanted to say the cooler, yet dumber name instead. And when I did so, the monster of Grulovia had finally vanished from the mind... but then, just as I did this, me and Raz were yanked from the mind instantly!

We then found ourselves poofed from the mind and seeing that the source... was via the one in charge of Truman! But one look at his eyes and I could see that it was definitely NOT Gristol Malik! Why? He had pure red irises of pure malice.

"Gristol! What's going on?!" Raz asked before Hollis then arrived along with Raz's family, them looking concerned, but not at the fact that we were in Nona's mind.

"Guys, Gristol has been acting really strange! And you didn't give me any progress report at all! So why are you here coercing with some of those monsters?" she asked as the others in my group looked at Hollis as well as Joey, Gaster, and GIFfany, the latter hiding behind Milla, who was floating in the air, so it didn't work too well.

"These 'monsters' all joined our cause for various reasons. GIFfany needed her mind reconnected because Naraku was the one to turn her evil, Gaster is on our side and helped get rid of 096, and Joey remembers everything about who he used to be and does not want to be the Tunnel Monster anymore," I explained, him nodding his cardboard head at that as Gristol then grabbed onto me and I gasped... because he could touch me!

"You're going to PAY for denying my master of his goals! And for denying ME my place as his prince!" said the voice of evil from the mouth of the Psychonauts head, me then breaking free by teleporting behind Hollis.

"Why did he just attack?!" Hollis asked in shock.

"That's not Gristol. That's the evil locked in the Millennium Ring..." said a voice from Nona's head, me then gasping at how Ishizu then appeared from Nona via mental projection much like I could! And then, the evil in question glared at her and proceeded to do something to her that made us shocked. He trapped her and Nona in a circle of darkness! And I could tell that it was on a ticking clock of sorts!... But it had a turn count? Of 10?

"This is not your concern, you bitch! I want this little lady to pay for what she did! You and me, a Shadow Game of death! If you do not win within 10 turns, then these two shall be banished to the Shadow Realm!" he shouted as I then growled at him. I knew that he was going to be a tough opponent... but given how gigantic his ego was, I felt I could make him look like a big fool.

"Huh, very well, but there will be rules," I said, him snickering evilly. "Since I want to prove that a less strong person can beat a big strong demon with ease, you will use a strong deck and I will use one that's considered as a weaker one. And if I can win when I have a less powerful deck than yours, then I get to banish you to a world of my choosing, no ifs ands or buts," I said, him snickering at me.

"And if I win, then you will become my puppet on a string to do as I say!" he said, me frowning at that.

"And you are going to lose," I said as I then projected myself into the mind of the owner of the mind of Yami Bakura, aka Zorc. And when I did so, we then proceeded to pick our decks. I got a deck that was most definitely considered weak, that being a deck filled with Fortune Fairies and Fortune Ladies, with spells and traps for each. But there was one ace I had in the form of Quintet Magician, the only card I had in my extra deck. I then proceeded to do the rock-paper-scissors duel and managed to see his future and see that he'd pick scissors, so I chose rock! And he growled at me doing that as I then spoke.

"I choose to go second. Now, let's see who can win. My deck of Fortune, or your deck of... Blue Eyes White Dragon... you have no idea how cliche that makes you," I groaned, him smirking at me.

"Let's see you with a snarky remark after I proceed to do this!" he smirked widely as he then used Cards of Consonance to send White Stone of the Ancients to the graveyard so he could draw two more cards. And when he did this, he then summoned Cosmo Brain by sending Blue Eyes White Dragon to the graveyard, making the card's attack reach 3100! And he then proceeded to normal summon an Eyes of Blue monster before then activating the effect of Sage with Eyes of Blue to send it and the monster to the graveyard to summon another Blue Eyes White Dragon, meaning he had 2 beefcakes on the field.

"Before I end the turn, I activate White Stone of the Ancients from the graveyard to summon another Blue Eyes White Dragon in attack position!" he snickered as I saw that he positioned the three of them in a straight line of dragon, cosmo, dragon. "I end my turn! I can feel you quaking in your boots!" he smirked at me as I frowned.

"Nah, that's my stomach. I'm getting hungry. So let's hurry this fight up. I draw!" I smirked as my draw happened to be Fortune Fairy Chee, me then showing it to him with a smile.

"I activate Fortune Fairy Chee's effect! Come on out in attack position and then both of us draw a card before then discarding it," I smirked as he then did so and he then had to discard the only card he now had, me smiling widely at how it was Raigeki. "Aw, got rid of your super tough card? Too bad, baby. Because I happened to get the perfect card to use," I smirked as I now had an ENTIRE hand and field of 5 different spellcaster monsters and 1 Polymerization in hand. "I activate the spell, Polymerization!" I smirked as I then used all five of them to special summon Quintet Magician, it being summoned to my field and then activating its effect, destroying the rest of his monsters in the process!

"NO!" he shouted in retort.

"And since I sent the card Shaddoll Beast to the graveyard with this effect, I can now draw one card!" I smirked as I then drew the best card that I loved. Power of the Guardians. "And now, to prevent my Quintet Magician from being destroyed by battle or card effects, I activate the equip spell, Power of the Guardians and equip it onto Quintet Magician! Now, ATTACK DIRECTLY!" I shouted, the magician then doing just that and gaining 500 attack from the spell counter adding up, dealing a total of 5K damage to him in one hit, leaving him with only 3K to go!

"AGH! You... YOU LITTLE!" he shouted before I then growled at him.

"Call me little one more time and I'm going to add another condition for when I win that you will not like," I said, him growling at me.

"LITTLE MIDGET!" he shouted, me then snarling as I then proceeded to snap my finger and then edited the rules with my mind to the contract he had. That if I won, I'd also send him into the mind of a rat from the world I would send him to.

"You wouldn't dare!" he shouted.

"I already did. Because you called me little again. I told you that you wouldn't like it. Now take your turn before I add more conditions for my inevitable win," I said, him growling as he then did just that and he then gained a devious smirk before placing the card face-down on the field.

"Go ahead, take your turn!" he snickered, me then doing that and seeing that he wanted to do something... but whenever he did, it didn't work. "Huh? COME ON! Banish her monster! Why won't Karm Cut activate?!" he asked in fury.

"Are you dense, man? It can only activate by discarding a card to the graveyard! You should've banished your White Stone of the Ancients to add Blue Eyes to your hand, then you could've activated it," I said, him gasping before then throwing a hissy fit as I drew one more time.

"No! NO! NO NO NO NO!" he shouted in fury as I then proceeded to Special Summon the card I drew in Fortune Fairy Hikari, which I then used her effect to special summon another level 1 Spellcaster monster in Magician of Faith, and then I normal summoned Fortune Lady Water me then smirking at his gritting teeth as he then gave up the visage of Gristol and showed his true Zorc form.

"Finish 'em, all four of you, weakest to strongest!" I smirked, Hikari dealing 0 damage, Magician of Faith dealing 300, then Fortune Lady Water with 1200, followed by Quintet Magician dealing 5500 damage! Zorc shouted in absolute fury as his LP dropped to nothing and I then proceeded to use the effect on him.

"Well, time to make you pay. You shall be placed in the form of a lowly rat... from THIS world! And you're gonna be nearby for us to catch and use for a long time," I said, me then teleporting his influence out of the mind completely, followed by the mind returning to Gristol's, which I saw that he was in his room at the Luctopus Casino when it was nice, but he looked at me with a smile.

"Rosie... thank you..." he said, me nodding at that. "He was not only holding me prisoner, but he was also hiding the code of the safe from me that contains Truman's brain. And now I know how to break it open without damaging his brain," Gristol said, me smiling as he then proceeded to show it to me. The code in question was the thinkerprint of Doctor Loboto!

"Huh, ingenious. Okay, let's go greet the others," I said, me then reappearing next to the others and out of Gristol's mind, where I saw that they looked at me in seriousness.

"Did you do it? Is he gone?" Lili asked, me smiling.

"Not only that, but I also reduced him to be in the mind of a rat that's roaming nearby. Sam, you want to go find him? Make him our prisoner of war?" I asked, her smirking creepily and nodding before then heading out and using her mental mastery to find that the rat in question was underneath one of the dressers and that Mal was nearby and sitting on a windowsill with an angry look on his squirrel eyes.

As for Nona and Ishizu, I saw the dark circle had vanished and they looked at me with a small smile.

"I... thanks... from the bottom of both of our hearts," Ishizu said, Nona nodding.

"Yes... and... I'm sorry... I feel slightly responsible for this outcome," Nona sighed, me shaking my head no to her.

"No, no, it wasn't your fault, Nona Lucy," I said, calling her by the name I knew of her since arriving to this world. "It was a mix of multiple things. My own horrible grandfather for banishing Alma from our world after basically torturing her to death... the Astralathe and my grandfather's machines coercing to become a warping machine, a literal demon who wanted to make all of us suffer and then tried to revive himself using Maligula... and whatever things happened in Grulovia that made your mind snap in the first place, all involving Gristol's father," I said, him looking at me and nodding.

"Yes... and I am willing to be imprisoned for what I've done, but first, I need to ask that we find Doctor Loboto," Gristol said from Truman's mouth, holding the box in question.

"Wait... you know how to get my dad's brain back?!" Lili asked, him nodding.

"Whatever kind of creature was eating away at my brain was hiding the code from me. The fingerprint ID is Loboto's left pointer finger," Gristol said, me then thinking for where Loboto was before then forcing him right next to us, him being shocked and looking around in confusion before seeing the different people in the form of me, Lili, the three anime girls, Mitsy, Joey the Tunnel Monster... pretty much anyone he never saw before, had defeated his plans, or looked different than the rest of us was what he was scared of, even Erma!

"EEK! W-What is this?! Is this my eternal punishment?! I didn't even get employee of the month!" Loboto said with fear as I then held his hand and he looked at me in concern.

"Don't worry, Loboto. I have a proposition for you," I said, him looking confused.

"For... me?... What kind of proposition?" he asked.

"Just put your left pointer finger on this lock here, and you will be freed of all charges... especially since Naraku was controlling you against your will like he did to most of us," I said, him looking at the others and then at Mitsy before she simply nodded. And then I said one more thing. "And I can even get your kid for you," I said. And when I said that last bit, everyone looked shocked before Loboto immediately pushed the lock with his thumb, it then unlocking instantly and revealing the brian within, which made Jenna and Gloria emerge from the mind.

"Is that whose brain I think it is?" Jenna asked.

"Yep. Truman Zanotto... so... how is this thing going to work? We have Helmut, Gristol, and Truman's minds, but we don't have enough bodies for their minds... so what do we do?" Hollis asked... but it was then that Alma stepped up.

"Um... maybe I could assist?" she asked.

"What do you mean, 33?" Sasha asked her.

"I mean that... well... if I absorb someone's brain into my essence... I can reform as who I was when alive... the only downside is that their mind and mine would be fused and I'd have to share control... as well as all of the painful and miserable memories..." Alma sighed.

"Um... maybe something else could be done, right?" Bill asked me with a wink and a point.

"Um... Alma... would you be okay if I did the Brain Blast on you?... To make you forget those awful memories?" I asked, her then looking at me with a frown, before then smiling.

"I'd like that, but only if you refer to me as 33 from now on and never call me Alma again," she said, me nodding.

"Understood, 33... Now, I'd like some space for this guys, since this technique was extremely painful when I used it in Nona's mind," I said, Alma nodding as I then focused hard and used the Brain Blast, me feeling the pain afterwards as everyone ran for cover outside of the building as I could feel the Astralathe struggling to survive from the overwhelming might my mind was making! And the pain was HORRID! It probably felt worse than childbirth! I then finally screamed one more time as I erased the last of Alma's memories, stopping short of erasing her completely... and the blast that came after managed to completely WRECK the Heptadome and the Astralathe had been completely obliterated!

"Hagh.. hagh..." I groaned before then retreating into Raz's mind and saying on thing to him. "Quick... brain... stuff..." I said before then finally falling into a deep sleep.
