Obito swirled in front of the nine tails jinchuriki, Naruto Uzumaki. He managed to achieve some sort of transformation with the Kyuubi, Naruto was glowing white and orange. The boy stopped in his tracks at Obito's arrival, "So you're Kakashi-sensei's friend Obito, why would you ever turn your back on the hidden leaf? It's your home." The blonde boy almost shouted.
"I was Obito in the past, now I'm no one. But the question I should be asking is why you haven't turned your back on the leaf, once you became the jinchuriki of the nine tails everyone saw you as a monster."
The blonde boy didn't hesitate to answer, "Not everyone saw me as a monster, Old man Hokage and Kakashi-sensei treated me like I was their family. And I'm going to prove everyone else wrong about me by becoming Hokage."
"Becoming Hokage will not change anything, it is merely a title of the person who chooses who lives and dies. There are only two things in this world that are certain, death and despair. It just takes longer for some to reach that conclusion, you will be no different." Obito said.
Naruto almost yelled, "Then I'll make it so no one has to live in despair, but I'll be damned if I give up on the people who believed in me!"
It irritated her that some people were so selfish, the world would be better off in the infinite Tsukuyomi than live in this cesspool of despair. Obito ran towards Naruto and phased through him, he was shocked as he didn't know of Obito's abilities. "You're mine, nine tails!" Obito said as she grabbed the boy's arm and tried sucking him into Kamui.
An electrified kunai flew through the air and almost hit her but she used Kamui to evade, in the process losing her grip on Naruto. "Kakashi-sensei! Bushier brow-sensei! And... Zabuza?!" Naruto exclaimed as he escaped from Obito's grasp.
Guy was the first one to Naruto's side as the other two surrounded Obito, "it's a long story Naruto, but that's for later." Kakashi told Naruto. "You don't have to do this Obito, we're still comrades." Kakashi pleaded with the Uchiha. "Oh Kakashi, you should know that a girl doesn't stop until she gets what she wants. And what I want is to live in a world where you, me, and Rin can live together without the corruption of despair."
Zabuza tightened his grip on the executioner's blade, "A fake reality is a coward's way out, you need a strong will to continue fighting for those that we've lost."
Obito looked at the Mizukage with disgust, "Don't lecture me on what I fight for, the demon of the hidden mist is the last person to criticize me."
She ran right for Zabuza with malicious intent, Zabuza swung his blade at Obito but she passed right through it and was about to grab his arm before Guy attempted to kick Obito. She passed through him and she passed through Zabuza, Obito could fight multiple people at the same time but this was going to be harder than she thought.
Kakashi examined her Kamui and its inner workings, he surmised that her Kamui was a reverse version of his. He asked Naruto to help him test his theory, Naruto ran towards her with a Rasengan and a shadow clone. Naruto's shadow clone attempted to grab Obito while Kakashi used his Kamui on the real Naruto's Rasengan, Obito phased through the shadow clone but was hit by something before she materialized. Obito's right arm had been heavily injured from what Kakashi assumed was the Rasengan he used Kamui on, Obito ripped her right arm off as if it were a bandaid and another arm took its place.
"Nice trick Kakashi, but you won't get a second hit on me," Obito said adjusting to her new arm. Obito launched giant shuriken from her Mangekyou Sharingan, Zabuza blocked some with the executioner's blade and Kakashi used a mud wall. Naruto was unprepared as Obito appeared behind him and gripped his arms, Naruto head-butted her loosening her grip on him. Her nose began bleeding as Guy then kicked her away from Naruto as she was disoriented, Obito barely stopped herself from landing on jagged rocks.
Kakashi stared into Obito's eyes as he could see the unwavering conviction in them, it was only going to end with her death or Naruto's, "Obito, your once strong will is still alive, standing right next to me. If you want someone to punish then choose me, because this is between you and me, leave the others out of it." Kakashi said trying to bait Obito into fighting one on one.
She was thinking about how Kakashi could get the seal off of her heart, "You...no, everyone actually, will eventually end up just like me. You are self-centered if you think this is because of you. So if you expect me to not save everyone from that fate, you're dead wrong. The only way to stop me is for you to put your hand right through my heart." Obito said.
Just then a familiar man teleported behind Kakashi, "Minato-sensei!? You've been reanimated too?" Kakashi exclaimed. "No, I'm still alive and ready to make up for the lost time. Especially you, Naruto." He said looking at the teenage boy, two additional people joined the battlefield being Konan and Tayuya. Obito was frustrated with her former sensei's sudden appearance along with the pesky thorn in her side, Konan and Madara's current pupil, Tayuya, "You've no right to be here, Minato-sensei." Obito said through gritted teeth.
"You don't have to accomplish Madara's plan, Obito. There's still time to turn back." "You're right, I don't have to do it. I want to put the world in an eternal genjutsu. You told me that there was no answer to hatred but Madara had the answer, and that is something you can't refute." Obito's hoarse voice replied. Minato hung his head understanding that arguing with Obito was pointless now, he had no choice but to confront her. "Alright Obito, I'll knock some sense into you if I have to," Minato said before pulling out one of his signature kunai.
Obito gritted her teeth and rushed forward, Minato wasn't expecting her to attack so fast as she rivaled his speed when she was fourteen. Obito kicked Minato into Guy and Naruto, Zabuza tried hitting her with his blade but Obito caught the blade with her right hand enveloped in fire and punched the blade in two. Zabuza was shocked before he was punched in the face by Obito, Kakashi grabbed Obito into a full nelson and Naruto was about to hit her with another Rasengan but she phased through him and Kakashi was hit in her stead. Kakashi was knocked out and Obito backed away as Konan launched a volley of paper shuriken, Minato tended to the now unconscious Kakashi.
Obito noticed that Tayuya was with them and laughed to herself, "So the mini Madara has betrayed her? Very interesting." Obito thought to herself.
"Madara-sensei doesn't think highly of you, y'know," Tayuya stated.
"You think I don't know that? Right now I'm trying to prevent Madara from gaining the power of Six paths, but I still will complete the infinite Tsukuyomi."
Everyone shuddered from the mention of six paths, "But the sage of six paths is dead, what does Madara have to do with him?" Zabuza asked.
"The sage six paths was the first to have the Rinnegan, and so he created the Naka tablet with the instructions for the infinite Tsukuyomi. So one must have six paths power to initiate the infinite Tsukuyomi."
Tayuya summoned her Doki to attack Obito, Obito summoned large rail spikes that eviscerated all of her Doki. Tayuya was shocked at Obito's power, she was comparable to Madara.
Minato flung a kunai at her and teleported to her, Obito just phased through Minato and kicked him in his back. Obito felt her ally appear behind her, Orochimaru stepped over to where she was. "I didn't expect you to show up so early," Obito said.
"I attempted to kill Madara with a reanimation, but I was unsuccessful. I suspect she'll make her way here when she has finished with the three Kage or when we seal the nine tails into the Gedo Mazo." The snake man said as he stared upon his final obstacles.
Minato and the others were surprised by Orochimaru's sudden appearance, Minato had met both Pain and Orochimaru before and knew that whatever eyes Pain had they were Orochimaru's now and that does not bode well for them.
Obito watched as Kakashi regained conciseness, "You deal with the extraction of the nine tails, leave Kakashi for me." Obito ran straight for Minato and Kakashi, she phased through Minato and went right for Kakashi. Obito caught Kakashi by surprise, she grabbed his arm and sucked him into the Kamui dimension.
Orochimaru looked at Tayuya with disappointment, "I thought you of all my experiments would stay out of this war, you clearly aren't helping in Madara's plan." Orochimaru said showing off his newly acquired Rinnegan. Tayuya was aggravated by her former master, "You're planning on killing Madara-sensei, I won't stand idly by as she dies!" Tayuya said as she pulled out a Kusanagi sword.
Orochimaru laughed at Tayuya and tested some of his new abilities, "Your sword is nothing more than a needle compared to this, Shurado!" Orochimaru said as his left arm turned into a laser cannon and shot straight for Tayuya. Tayuya couldn't react in time but was saved by Minato, he held Tayuya in his arms as he teleported her out of the way.
Tayuya had never seen someone move so fast, not even Madara. But Minato let her down as he returned to fight Orochimaru, he was right in time as Zabuza was pulled towards Orochimaru. Orochimaru summoned a black rod from his hand and prepared to impale the Mizukage, Zabuza's eyes widened as he was about to meet his end. Minato grabbed Zabuza and teleported him to Tayuya, he placed a flying Raijin seal on both their backs as he teleported back.
Orochimaru was getting irritated by his former friend's student, "Maybe I should deal with you first, Minato." Orochimaru said before launching some rockets from his left arm.
Obito swirled into her dimension while everyone was busy with Orochimaru, she was shocked to see Kakashi cowering in an earth-style bunker and Deidara dropping bombs into him in her dimension.
Earlier when Kakashi was transported into the Kamui dimension he looked at the infinite rectangular blocks, he was in a lifeless and endless void. He was forced to wait for Obito to appear he assumed, but there was something in the distance he saw that was slowly moving towards him.
Kakashi was relieved that it was another person, Kakashi watched as the figure drew closer to him. When the figure was close enough Kakashi realized it was Deidara, he understood now that his Kamui is a long-range version of Obito's. But he would worry about Obito later, Deidara was seething with anger as he was stuck in the endless void for several hours.
Kakashi couldn't rely on his Kamui as there was no telling if it would work or not and the sealing corp wasn't an option anymore, he had to improvise with whatever he could muster. Kakashi reached into his back pocket and pulled out a sealing tag, he breathed out a sigh of relief as he had something to incapacitate the reanimation with.
Deidara created a large clay dragon and jumped on its back, he flew into the air and began dropping clay spiders on Kakashi. "So you've been put into this place too, I can't really complain as long as I show you what true art is. True art is an explosion!"
Kakashi created an earth-style wall and roof for cover, the entire cover shook as the bombs fell. His cover was blown to shreds after Deidara finished his bombardment. Kakashi noticed with his Sharingan that some of the clay spiders burrowed into the ground, he threw a little piece of debris at one and it blew up. The mines surrounded Kakashi's cover and he had few options to deal with both mines and Deidara, he was in between a rock and a hard place.
Luckily Obito appeared in the Kamui dimension and saw what was happening to Kakashi, "So you dropped this asshole into my realm? I can't leave you alone for five seconds." Obito said before she used a fireball large enough to scorch Deidara out of the sky.
"Tobi, what are you doing? We're on the same side!" Deidara exclaimed as his clay dragon was reduced to ash. "Kakashi is mine alone to kill, go back to the afterlife, and preach about your art there. Cause no one alive cares." She replied.
Kakashi threw shards of the stone barrier at the landmines and electrified them with lightning, he then threw Obito a kunai with a sealing tag attached, and she put it on Deidara's chest before he could do anything else.
Obito sucked Deidara out of the Kamui dimension and turned to Kakashi, "Now on to pressing matters, such as you, Kakashi." Kakashi's stomach turned knots as he was regretting this moment, "So it's come to this, I can help you Obito if you let me guide you to the light."
"Like you helped Rin?" Obito's voice was harsh and calm.
"I was trying to protect Rin, it was her choice to jump in front of my Chidori. I have nightmares every night of that day, and the day you were crushed by that rock. If you blame me for Rin's death then tell me, why are you this way?"
"Rin decided to die at the hand of someone she loved, to protect the hidden leaf. No matter what words you say, to me, the you who could not save Rin and killed her is an imposter. To me, Rin is someone not meant to die. So the dead Rin is also an imposter. So Rin is only Rin alive. The Shinobi system, the village, and Shinobi themselves created these circumstances. What caused me to despair is this world itself, this counterfeit world."
Kakashi's morale was getting lower as Obito talked more, "Obito, I'm sorry, I'll stop you if I have to, don't force my hand, please." Kakashi pleaded.
"I'm counting on it unless of course there's still doubt in your heart," Obito said as she charged forward. Kakashi realized it was just an illusion and created his own to combat it, the two illusions fought and skewered each other. "Obito, enough with these tricks. I'm over it now, no more genjutsu." He said as both illusions dissipated. "It looks to me that I can't find anything to change you. Right now all I can give you is death." Kakashi said as he put up his left hand in front of his masked face. Obito stood across from him, "Then I shall do the same, now!" Obito replied as she put her right hand in front of her scarred right side.
Kakashi reminisced about the first time he fought Obito within team Minato, "Shinobi hand to hand combat, well now that you're ready, begin." Minato said.
Both Kakashi and Obito rushed each other using punches and kicks at speeds unimaginable, they were evenly matched for the most part. Obito landed a kick to Kakashi's face that sent him rolling across the ground, she tried stomping on him but he rolled out of the way and returned to his feet. Kakashi pulled out a kunai and flipped it into the air and kicked it, cutting Obito's cheek.
Obito retaliated with a strong punch that sent Kakashi flying, Kakashi stopped himself from sliding any further. Obito's cheek healed in front of Kakashi's eyes, she enveloped her right hand in fire, similar to Kakashi's lightning blade. Kakashi performed a raikiri and they clashed with augmented fists until they both turned their jutsu off and caught each other's fists. "Let me borrow this," Obito said as she used Kakashi's hand to weave signs for the fireball jutsu, she kneed Kakashi in the chin and kicked him away, and launched a giant fireball.
Kakashi landed on his knees and created a mud wall, blocking the fireball and it was barely standing and was enveloped in smoke. Obito threw a kunai wrapped in a piece of cloth towards Kakashi's right, he was distracted by it as Obito appeared on his left.
She kneed him into the wall, but before she delivered the killing blow a lightning-style clone jumped out of the ground and grabbed her hands, electrocuting her. Kakashi took advantage and kicked her in the chin and away from him, she got to her feet and enveloped her hand in fire and Kakashi did so with lightning on a kunai.
They rushed each other and Obito's hand went through Kakashi's shoulder, while Kakashi's raikiri went through Obito's heart. Obito began coughing up blood and Kakashi deactivated his raikiri and dropped his kunai, he pulled his hand out of Obito's heart as she fell backward onto her back. His hand was covered in Obito's blood, it was an echo of Rin's death. Kakashi held his shoulder in pain as he held his tears back, he watched as Obito sat up with the hole in her chest.
"Look at me," Obito asked weakly. "Look at me!" She repeated louder. "There's nothing in my heart, I don't feel pain any longer." As she pointed to the hole in her chest, Kakashi couldn't help but feel regret as Hashirama warned him of this but he still succumbed to the curse of duty over love.
"You don't have to feel guilty Kakashi, this hole was opened up by this world of hell. I only had pain inside here before, but really what's the meaning in that? So I abandoned it all, meanwhile, you have suffered all this time. At Rin's grave, and mine as well." Obito said before coughing up more blood, Kakashi was on the verge of tears by her words.
"Kakashi, it's okay now, you don't need to suffer anymore. Rin's right here." Kakashi imagined Rin to his left, "You're the greatest Kakashi!" He imagined she would say. "Along with your ideal version of me," Kakashi imagined a younger Obito, "I'm the future Hokage, I'll prove you wrong, Bakakashi!" He imagined she would say. "Wish for whatever you want, anything is possible in this genjutsu world. That hole in your heart can be filled immediately," Obito said trying to convince Kakashi to help with the infinite Tsukuyomi.
Kakashi swatted away theimaginedversions of Obito and Rin, "Rin is gone, but you're still alive! Do you really think that something like this can fill that hole in your heart... That void?" Kakashi debated.
"There is only one thing that can fill my void, but not in this world. It can only happen if there is no pain or suffering." Obito said standing up and gripping her hole, "You won the battle Kakashi, but I'm not giving up on this war."
"Wait!" Kakashi shouted as Obito used Kamui to escape to the real world. Kakashi was left shaken and scared of his absence on the battlefield. "This is as much as I can do, for now. Uncle, it's all up to you."
