Today's Special

"You don't mess with a man's money; you don't mess with a man's woman; you don't mess with a man's family or his manhood these were a man's principles…"

~Claude Brown

Hayley's fear soon turned into anger. Everything was fine for her, until this woman showed up, and suddenly Klaus wouldn't care less that she was the mother of his child. Her status became null-and-void in the presence of this new player. She could no longer resist seeking out Kol's first sireling.

Caroline was inside a witch shop, looking for some foxglove, when Hayley stormed into the shop, banging the door behind her.

The blond glanced at the hybrid, before turning back around, and continuing her browsing of the shop as she waited for the old woman behind the counter to bring her the herb her witch needed.

Hayley took a step towards her, but was instantly falling to her knees as a splitting headache erupted through her head. "What the hell!" The hybrid cursed, as she glared at the witch behind the counter.

"Vampires aren't welcome here." The old woman said firmly.

"She's here! And she's a full vampire!" Hayley protested.

"She's a friend of the Bennett line." The witch answered, pointing towards the necklace around the older vampire's neck.

"And I pay well, that tends to help too." The blond said, smiling sweetly, as she finally turned to fully look at Hayley.

"I can pay too." Hayley said instantly, pulling out Elijah's card. The witch glanced at the card before shaking her head, she honestly didn't care who payed the money, as long as they delivered. She always hated getting her hands dirty.

Caroline raised an eyebrow, "Of-course you can, Elijah Mikaelson? When did you get your name changed? Odd name for a female, but then again, I've met a woman named Vlademir. Who am I to judge?"

Hayley growled, the woman's easy attitude only pissing her off, "You think you're all that!"

"Oh, I'm all that, and much more." The blond said without batting an eye, before she turned around and began once again looking at the tiny bottles on the shelf, thinking of picking up some nasturtiums as well.

The old women vent into the back of the shop, to pack the special herb, needing to find it in the back, leaving the two women in the shop alone.

Hayley walked closer to Caroline, "It's funny, I expected a lot more considering your reputation, but then again, you have nothing on me." She smirked.

Crystal blue eyes narrowed, "Excuse me?"

"It's the truth. You may have been his obsession 900 years ago, grandma, but I'm the mother of his child. He'd never hurt me. Well you, he only saved you for the game he and your brother are playing." Hayley said, smirking when she saw a flash of hurt in the vampire's eyes, but that hurt was quickly covered up with anger.

"Well, Bayley-"

"Hayley" The hybrid growled, but the vampire smirked and continued, as if she'd never heard her.

"Let me clarify. Tristan, Elijah, Lucian, and Klaus may be playing their little games, but I own the whole fucking casino their playing in." Caroline said, her vampire face appearing, as she pushed Hayley up against the door, her hand wrapped against the brunette's throat.

"Y-you can't!" Hayley shouted, panicking.

Caroline smirked, and punched her other hand through Hayley's chest, and wrapped her first around her heart, squeezing it. "Oh, I can."

"I'm the mother of his child! He loves me!" Hayley said, getting desperate.

"Please, you're delusional" Caroline rolled her eyes.

"He said so!" Hayley shouted, and that was enough for Caroline to let go and drop her in shock.

The hybrid took this chance and ran out of the shop.

Caroline tried to hide it, but the baby hybrid's words did have an effect on her; something that Hayley would soon pay for.

Because when Klaus approached Caroline a few hours later with tickets to the opening night of a new renaissance exhibit.

His answer came in the form of a sharp slap to the cheek.

The hybrid blinked, confused, unsure where he went wrong.

He knew that she absolutely loved the resonance period, spending the whole era in Italy so she wouldn't miss a single event.

So what had happened between when they met at the coffee shop, to now, that would make her so angry at him? Sure she would be angry at him for leaving, not wanting to relive what she said that night, or risk that she may say it again, but she wouldn't be so… actively hostile.

But when Caroline hissed, "Why don't you take your precious baby mama." It didn't take much to connect the dots that Hayley had clearly said something to upset Caroline, when he had specifically instructed the baby hybrid to stay away from his women.

He tried to tell her the truth, but before he could speak, the 900 year old vampire flashed out, leaving him behind. Klaus sighed, but let her go. Knowing if he chased her now, it would only make her angrier.

Meanwhile, Hayley thought she had won with that little conversation, but she would soon discovered the price for her actions, would be paid with blood

She was sleeping next to Jackson, when screams rang out through the bayou, startling the two of them up.

Hayley rushed outside to see Kol, tearing through her pack, without a hint of remorse, giving no care for the blood that was drenching him, or who it came from.

"Kol what the hell do you think you're doing! Klaus-"

But before she could finish, she was pushed against a tree, with a hand blocking her airway. "Is right here." The original hybrid himself said, with a perfectly calm smile on his face.

"Why?" Hayley managed to choke out.

"Well I was originally planning on doing this alone, until Kol found out what you had done to Caroline, you know, the same one I explicitly told you to stay away from at all costs. Then, he was more than eager to join in on the fun."

Hayley's eyes widened as she realized Klaus had found out what she had done. "I-I, their Hope's pack!"

Klaus shushed her, "Oh no, I gave you one rule, and you broke it. Now, not even being Hope's mother, can save your pack. It's quite pathetic honestly, you're relying on your infant daughter to protect your pack from your mistakes.

He ripped off a thick branch from a tree and used it to impale Hayley to a nearby wooden cabin, "You will stand here and watch, as Kol and I kill every single member of your pack."

"The children-" Hayley attempted to reason with him.

"Will be fine. I don't kill children Hayley." Klaus reminded her. "I have witches ready, and they will seal away every single remaining Crescent wolf's curse, leaving none of them able to trigger their werewolf side." He informed her, watching with glee as her eyes widened in horror.

"After that, I will make sure no other pack in the world will ever even think about taking you in. You may be Hope's mother, but that does not make you a Mikaelson. You will forever be alone. Eternity alone. This is the cost of your choices." Klaus revealed, not even bothering to hide his smile.

When dawn came, the Crescent pack was no more, with the only sign it had ever existed, being the Crescent birthmark on Hayley's shoulder.

Klaus, drenched in blood, approached the baby hybrid, "Now, I'm going to only ask you this once. What did you say to her?"

Hayley, shaking, quickly recounted what had happened in the small shop. Klaus growled and pulled the branch out of her healed abdomen, causing the skin and tissue that had grown around it to be ripped out along with it.

He ignored her cry of pain and let her fall to the ground. At this point, Kol had walked over and glanced down at Hayley as if she was a piece of gum stuck on the bottom of his shoe.

"One of us has to do it." Klaus said to his brother.

"Well I don't want to." Kol protested, a look of disgust on his face.

"Well I don't want to taste her blood anymore than you do." Klaus frowned.

Kol looked offended, "So why does that mean I have to? Who knows what kind of diseases the mutt's carrying."

Klaus sighed, "Do this. And the next time you do something worthy of a daggering, I'll let it pass."

Kol looked at Hayley, and weighed the decision, before sighing. "Fine. But not next time. I get to choose when to cash it in."

Klaus waved his hand towards Hayley, who was still on the ground, watching the exchange with fear.

Kol let out an exaggerated huff, before lowering to the wolf's level, before she could back away, he thrust his hand into her ribcage and wrapped his hand around her heart and gave it a light squeeze, which caused the baby hybrid to let out a loud cry of pain.

Kol smirked, before pulling his now bloody hand out. He licked a bit of her blood off his fingers and his mouth curled in disgust.

"How much vervain?" Klaus asked.

"None." Kol answered, "But it tastes bloody disgusting. Not sure the dagger pass was worth it."

"Do you want me to take it back?" Klaus teased.

"No." Kol glared at his older brother. "Don't put words into my mouth."

Klaus turned back to Hayley, "No vervain?" He asked her.

"It hurts like hell. Plus, you could just drain me." Hayley scoffed. "Unlike that blondie, I work smart, not hard." She answered, remembering the mouthful of vervain she had ingested when she bit Caroline. "Work smart, not hard."

Kol rolled his eyes, "But it takes 6 hours to a whole day at least, depending on the people involved and the method used. So, let's day Caroline drinks vervain everyday, it would take 7 hours to drain it all from her if we were cutting her wrists and letting her hang." Klaus scowled at the image of the blond hurt, but didn't interrupt his brother. "Meaning, in those 7 hours, Lucian could come up with a plan or a deal, and save his sister. So vervain, yeah, not useless."

"But then again, that would require someone giving a crap about you." Kol added, smirking.

"People do care about me!" Hayley protested.

Klaus sighed, "Maybe. Let me correct that statement. It would require someone with a working brain or a head that isn't up your ass to do it."

"And now that we've established that you clearly have neither, you can be compelled." Klaus said, bending down to meet Hayley's gaze. "You will stay away from Caroline. You will not attempt to harm her, directly or indirectly. If someone asks you or attempts to involve you in an attempt to harm her, you will come to me." He ordered.

Hayley repeated the command in a daze.

Klaus smirked as he stood back up. He turned around to walk away, but before he left, he glanced at her one last time, "Remember this Hayley, this was strike two, strike three, and it's your head. Despite what I said about you being her mother, even Hope can't save you then."

This scene made the whole Caroline Castle one shot seem a little all over the place (and a little too Hayley focused for my liking), so I decided to make it a blooper.

The idea to compel Hayley wasn't here from the beginning, I decided to add it after Annetudor1 on Ao3 suggested it.

This would have gone between: "Caroline sighed, her head falling back. She was finally ready, but it seems he still wasn't." and "Presenting, Mr. Lucian Castle and Miss Caroline Castle."

Also, some of the warnings for the one shot were meant for this blooper, but I forgot to take them out. So for those who bother to read the warnings, sorry about that.

VOTE:

For the full book of this idea, I'm going to do a vote. Remember the scene where the wolves are hunted by Lucian's men, I was thinking of just killing Hayley off there. So;

Option 1: Kill Hayley off in chapter one (maybe 2, depending on the episode and chapters lengths)

Option 2: Keep her around for some bashing

What do you guy's think?

And for most of the comments on Part 1 (yes there will be a Part 2 - when, don't know), I just gotta say. You guys are DARK... I like it!

Anyways,

KLAROLINE FOR LIFE BECAUSE I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP!
