Previously on Naruto….
"I'm at the end of my rope with you Naruto! You failed the graduation last time and the time before that, tomorrow you have another chance and you're messing up again!" Iruka yelled.
…
"Peri, where's Naruto? He stole the Scroll of Sealing!" Iruka asked
"He did what?!" she gasped.
…
"Twelve years ago. The nine-tailed fox attacked our village. Everybody knows that. But what you kids don't know is the decree the Hokage made. The decree is that the beast is sealed inside of your body, Naruto." Mizuki said.
…
"SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!" Naruto yelled.
…
"Congratulations Naruto. You graduate." Iruka beamed with pride.
"What happened to you?" Sasuke asked, moving his stuff so she could take a seat.
Peri groaned, tying her headband around her forehead, her small bangs covering it slightly and took her seat next to him. "Long story short, Mizuki-sensei tried to steal my grandpa's scroll by using Naruto last night and didn't go to bed until four in the morning." Peri explained.
She sometimes has trouble sleeping and the whole Mizuki scandal didn't help in any way and decided to take a nap. She wasn't worried about missing anything, he would wake her up before Iruka came anyway.
…
"Naruto, what are you doing here? Only those who graduate?"
"Oh yeah? Do you see? Do you see? It's a regulation headband Shikamaru. We're gonna be genin together and admit it, this headband looks perfect on me, believe it!"
Peri woke up hearing Shikamaru's voice only to see Naruto sitting next to her with a headband
"I can't believe that they actually let you graduate." Sasuke taunted.
"Well believe it Sasuke!" Naruto yelled
"I'M FIRST!"
(Here we go.) the Senju and Uchiha groaned.
"I won again, Sakura!" Ino grinned, slightly out of breath
"Yeah right. I was totally ahead of you." Sakura snapped, glaring at her rival.
Naruto blushed and tried to talk to his crush, but Sakura just shoves him out of the way. "G-Good morning Sauke. Mind if I sit next to you?" she asked, blushing
"Back off Billboard Brow, I'm sitting next to Sasuke!" Ino sneered grabbing her arm
"I was here first, Ino Pig!"
"Actually I was here before with either of you!" a red haired fangirl said walking over
"No way I'm sitting next to Sasuke!" a fangirl said
"No I am!" another one yelled
(Clueless.) Sasuke inwardly sighed trying to ignore the high pitch screams.
-Hokage's Office-
Hiruzen Sarutobi was sitting at his desk with a group of jounin around the desk. The group was watching the fight through Hiruzen's crystal ball. "Most promising student Sasuke Uchiha. Is that him?" Asuma asked scratching his beard
"Yes he is." Hiruzen answered his son.
"He's the only survivor of the Uchiha Clan." Kurenai added.
"Next to him is Peri Senju. She is the granddaughter of the First Hokage and the last survivor of the Senju Clan right?" Guy said.
"Her scores and skills are pretty average in the class. I can admit that her taijutsu and genjutsu skills are a little better than her classmates, but Peri's not a prodigy, nothing compared to her grandfather. I heard that Sakura Haruno is the kunoichi of the year" Asuma spoke again.
"She is still a child and in time she'll become a fine kunoichi. Nobody starts at the top, not even Lord First Hokage." Hiruzen defended sharply.
"Back to the topic at hand, Lord Hokage, you were discussing the situation about the teams for this year right?" Kurena said
(Naruto Uzumaki huh?) Kakashi thought, looking at the blonde haired boy through the crystal ball.
-Classroom-
Naruto jumped up on the desk glaring at Sasuke who just glared right back at him. Naturally, it was going to end up in disaster.
"NARUTO! Stop glaring at Sasuke!" the pinked haired girl screeched
(Sakura….Why are they so obsessed with him? "Sasuke, Sasuke." What's the big deal?
Naruto and Sasuke glared hardeer causing lighting to spark
And then it happened.
A boy in front of them accidentally elbowed the blonde in the back causing him to fall. Unto Sasuke's lips and let's just say it wasn't taken too well.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! THAT'S WAS RICH! THAT WAS TOO FUNNY!" Peri laughed banging her fist on the table.
Sasuke nearly puked.
Naruto got beat up.
While Peri, Kiba, Choji, and Shikamaru were laughing their butts off. Maybe the morning wasn't so bad after all.
Well, it was bad for Naruto who got plumbed by insane fangirls.
…
"Alright, settle down everyone, it's time to announce the three man squads." Iruka began
(Three man squad?) Naruto, Peri, Ino, and Sakura thought.
"But before I do, since there's a larger group, one of you will be temporarily placed on a team until further notice." Iruka said and began listing the new ninja squads.
(I want to be with Sakura and maybe Peri….I don't care as long as it's not Sasuke.) Naruto thought, scratching his head.
(I only want to be with Sasuke. On the same team we'll fall in love and I won't have to deal with Peri anymore! I don't care if the first hokage is her grandfather, I'm so sick of her getting between me and my Sasuke! CHA!) Sakura prayed, closing her eyes.
"I wonder who's gonna be on the team?" Peri whispers
"You would be fine since you don't slow me down." Sasuke whispered
"Yeah, but what if we're not on the same team." Peri frowned.
Peri didn't have too many friends in the class, one reason is because of Sasuke's fangirls, but most of the time people talked to her because of her status and the expectation of her to carry the legacy of her ancestors.
That made her furious more than anything else in the world. She was so much more than just the first hokage's granddaughter, that was only one part of her. Don't get her wrong, Peri was proud of her grandfather who founded the village and the way the shinobi system is today. Peri wanted the village to acknowledge her for who she is, not for her family.
The teacher cleared his throat, catching everyone's attention again.
"Team Seven. Naruto Uzumaki, Peri Senju, and Sasuke Uchiha"
"Aw man!" Naruto groaned. (I'm not gonna be Sakura!)
"CHA! HOW COME SHE GETS TO BE WITH SASUKE?!"
"WHY HER?!"
"No fair, she is so lucky to be with Sasuke."
"Hey we're on the same team Sasuke." Peri smiled
"Hn."
"Ya know Duckbutt, it won't hurt to speak english." she sweatdropped
"Hn."
"And Sakura Haruno will be placed on this team until further notice. Now the next group." Iruka said before continuing listing the squads.
"CHA! True love wins!" Sakura cheered
"YES!" Naruto cheered.
"Sakura, calm down and listen. You are the temporary member. This it's only for a week until we find a permanent team for you." Iruka said.
"Why do I have to be the temporary member? It should be Naruto or Peri, not me!" Sakura wailed
"Because those are the hokage's orders. Alright, you're all dismissed. You will meet your jounin instructor after lunch." he said as the kids began to pile out of the classroom.
…
Peri was sitting on the rooftop alone barely touching her food. She wasn't really hungry at the moment.
(It's so strange. You always said you would watch me become a ninja but neither of you are here.) she said to herself. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't miss her family.
She wished that they were here, but not even the strongest ninja could bring back the dead. It was almost noon and she quickly packed up the rest of her lunch and made her way back to the classroom.
Thump.
"What was that?" she asked looking around for someone, but she was the only one there.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Peri peered into an open window to see Sasuke tied up with tape on his mouth. She covered her mouth, failing to suppress her giggles. Obviously, he fell for one of Naruto's traps.
"Do you need a hand?" she asked entering his apartment. Sasuke struggles to break free, but was unsuccessful and looked at her quietly asking for help. The light-brown haired Senju chuckled untying the ropes and taking off the tape. Sasuke silently moved past her making his way to where she came from.
"What happened? Why were you tied up like that?" she asked
"I let my guard down. Where's Naruto?"
" I don't know where he is! Hey-where are we going?"
"Hn."
"Stop saying that! We've been over this"
…
Sakura was sitting alone on a park bench feeling a little down. She was hoping that she and Sasuke were on the same team so they could spend some time together. And when he did come they almost kissed until he ran off in a hurry.
(I had no idea he was so shy. He's so sexy I wish he would hurry up.) Sakura said to herself squealing happily. She sprayed her favorite bubblegum perfume and reapplied her red lipstick.
And that's when he came back, but he was with Peri right beside him.
"Sasuke you're back! Don't be shy this time you bad boy! So are you mentally prepared because I am. I mean I'm raring to go!" she gushed
"What are you talking about?" Peri asked
"UGH! I'm talking to Sasuke, not you! Why are you here anyway?" she retorted, jealous that the Senju was standing so close to her crush.
Finally, the raven-haired Uchiha looked at her with a disinterested look on his face. "Where's Naruto?" he asked in a monotone voice.
"There you go again changing the suspect. Anyway, Naruto just picks fights with you all the time. You know why he acts that way is because he wasn't raised right. He doesn't have a mother or a father to teach him right from wrong so of course he always gets in trouble. He's bratty, selfish, and all alone!" Sakura said.
(How dare she?! What does she know about being alone? She gets to go home every day with food on the table and she gets to see her parents everyday! She doesn't know what it's like to be alone
Peri clenched her fists in anger and Sasuke glared harshly at her, but the green-eyed pink haired girl was unaware of it as she continued to rant. She pushed the fangirl to the side harshly and towards the academy which to the fangirl's happiness knowing she's alone with Sasuke.
"See? Peri's just like Naruto, totally annoying! She wasn't raised right either, she's a forest wildchild that hasn't been taught any manners." I don't know why you hang around her so much, Sasuke." Sakura said getting closer to Sasuke.
" I mean she's not even that good looking. Her hair's too short and I know you like long hair, her face is so round it's like an ugly tomato and her chest is flat as a board. I even have a larger chest than Peri. Just forget about her Sasuke I can-"
"Alone…isolated. It's not about your parents scolding you. You have no idea what's feels like being alone" Sasuke growled angrily
"W-What are you saying?" Sakura whimpered, taking a step back.
"Because you're annoying." he snapped before leaving.
-Forty minutes later-
The four genins were still waiting for their sensei to come. Iruka left not too long after asking them to be patient as they waited.
Finally, Naruto had enough and decided to pull a prank on their sensei.
"What are you doing Naruto?" Sakura asked horrified
"This is what he gets for being late." the blonde smirked
He placed the eraser on the edge of the door.
"Our team leader is a jounin, you really think they'll fall for that?" Sasuke asked
"Yeah Sasuke right! You're gonna get us in trouble Naruto!" Sakura agreed.
"Tilt it a little to the left, Naruto!" Peri grinned and the blonde did as he instructed
"Don't encourage him, we're gonna get in trouble!" the pink-haired girl argued.
A silver-haired man with dark gray eyes wearing a standard flak jacket walked in the room. Only to be hit by the eraser.
Naruto burst out laughing, "HE FELL FOR IT! HE TOTALLY FELL FOR IT!"
"PERFECT SHOT!" Peri laughed giving him a five high
"I'm sorry sensei, I tried to let them not do it, but they didn't listen. I would never do that!" Sakura tried to apologize.
(To fall for a trick like that, is this guy really a jounin?) Sasuke thought.
"Well, how do I say this? My first impression….you're a bunch of idiots." the man said bored.
The four kids just moped when he said that with anime blue lines on their foreheads.
Author's Note
Well next up is the bell test. I added the scene with Sasuke and Peri talking to each other because they do have a lot in common. Plus, I always wondered why he had so many fangirls in the first place.
Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Sasuke fan. His character development is the best in my opinion, especially how he overcomes the hatred in his heart. But that's always been a question of mine.
