A/N - Forgot to post this yesterday, so you'll get another one later. I know y'all will be HEARTBROKEN.
"It's not that bad, I swear!" Kagome laughed as the beast pushed at her arm, and she rolled up her sleeve. "See? There's barely a scar."
He huffed, staring intently at the mark from her altercation with the boar. It had long since healed, made better with her own herbal mixture, but his features were pinched with worry, and she ran her fingers through his fur.
"I'm alright." He didn't meet her gaze, leaning even closer before his tongue slid over her skin. There was a tingle of youki, and something else, and when he pulled back, the scar had completely disappeared.
She'd heard of some youkai having healing properties in their saliva but had never seen it in action before—it wasn't like it was easily accessible. Kagome whispered her thanks, then kissed his forehead. He bristled, slowly rising to his feet and walking stiffly into the kitchen.
She frowned and looked at her mother. "Did I do something wrong?"
Emiko chuckled, shaking her head. "No, dear. He's just embarrassed." A low growl sounded from the other room, but she was undeterred. "I say keep it up! Your surprises keep him on his toes. And I dare say someone should."
Kagome's frown deepened as she went back to her scrolls. She knew specific touches with youkai meant different things, but it wasn't like she'd kissed anywhere significant.
The beast didn't have any marks.
