Ch. 3: More Than Friends?
written 8/21/21
Red closed his door and then sat in his sofa pondering his walk around Bird Island with Silver. "She is very pretty and smart even for a friend." said Red to himself out loud
and then he remembered the kiss they shared. "Is it possible that she could be more than just a friend?" Then it hit him like a train. "She's a little blunt for my taste though."
he said. He then right away remembered the benefits of that trait. "It's the straight forward method she's utilizing to help me." he replied. "Although sensitivity should be
taken into consideration, sometimes I guess I just have to be told straight up on what my problem is." Red stated once more. "Another thing is she is very reliable and
resourceful." "She's seems to be there for me whenever I need help with stuff." he said. "Such as talking about my feelings, and thanks to her efforts I'm able to open up
about my feelings in a healthier manner." Red finally came to a conclusion about what needed to be done next. "I must ask her if she would like to go out for dinner
sometime." said Red. "I'm confident that she will go for it, and I'm sure we'll need to keep it on the down low because of Chuck's sister protection issues."
Silver was at her house having a similar conversation with herself at the same time. "Red really is a very handsome and sweet bird for a friend." said Silver. "That kiss we
shared as well as the two additional pecks he gave me makes me wonder if there's more than just a friendship between us maybe a possible relationship." "Red was good at
letting me vent to him and offering me emotional support to get through it, which is the trait of a really good friend." she said. "He seems to always be there for me." "I've
been good at helping him with his self-esteem, abandonment issues and opening up about his feelings." she assured herself. "He's improved so much since we first met at
that speed dating event that my evaluation form of him is almost no longer accurate." "He's not that afraid anymore to accept and/or be afraid to ask for advice and help from
others when offered." Silver looked down at the ground. "I gotta do two things now." "First things first get Chuck off our backs about hanging out alone, and then be ready for
a potential get together at some point.
The next day Red was hanging out with Chuck and Bomb in the village. Silver was on her way back home from the Avian Academy when suddenly she bumped into the three
guys. "Oh Chuck, Bomb, and Red." said Silver. "How's it going guys." "Great." replied Bomb. "Not bad sis." answered Chuck. "How about you?" "Wonderful." replied Silver.
Then she turned her attention to Red. "Hey Red, can we chat for a sec?" she asked. "Sure." he said as he followed her to the side. "What's up Silver?" Red inquired. "Not
much just wondering if you wanted to hang out again, and if so do you have any suggestions?" asked Silver. "Of course, I'd love to get together sometime." answered Red.
"Also as far as suggestions go I've got a few actually. The most appealing being getting a bite with you." "Great how about dinner tonight?" suggested Silver. "Of course you
practically read my mind." said Red. "Alright meet me outside the classroom at 6pm when class gets out." she said. "Okay, sounds like a plan." replied Red in agreement. The
two birds walked back over to where Chuck and Bomb were waiting. "Sorry we kept you two waiting." said Silver. "It's okay." answered Bomb. Chuck was a little bit more
suspicious of Red and his sister. "Anything I need to know about?" inquired Chuck who had his right eyebrow raised. "No Chuck." said Silver getting a little annoyed with her
brother. "Don't worry about it or pester Red about it." "I don't know what you two are up to, but tread carefully." warned Chuck. Finally Silver did something nobody expected.
She walked up to his face and said, "Chuck we've been over this a hundred times." Then she got more serious and irritated. "I am no longer a kid and I will do what I want
with who I want when I want where I want!" Then she calmed back down and said softly, "So please don't spy on me and/or whoever I am hanging out with, that should give
you the motivation to tread more carefully on your end." Chuck backed away from his sister because he had never seen her so agitated in his life. "Alright fine I'll back off."
said Chuck. "Still be cool, and try to keep it friendly." "Okay." said Red and Silver. "Well I'll see you guys around." said Silver and resumed her walk home. It was already 4pm
so Red turned to Bomb and Chuck. "I've gotta get back home, see you two later." he said and went to slingshot himself home. Once Red was gone Chuck turned to face
Bomb. Chuck shook his head. "What is it?" asked Bomb who was concerned about Chuck's issue with Red and Silver hanging out. "I'm just hoping that those two don't
become romantically involved with each other because I potentially wouldn't be able to talk to either of them for at least a week." answered Chuck. "Oh don't be a drama
king." said Bomb giving his friend a pat on the back. "Everything will work out for the best." "I sure hope so." said Chuck. Bomb looked at Chuck. "Well, I like Red, have to get
back home." he said. "I guess I'll go back home as well." said Chuck. The two friends got in the slingshot and shot themselves back to the village. Once they landed they said
their goodbyes to each other before parting ways, and the two of them started walking back to their respective houses.
Sorry for the delay lost my muse for a while and had so much work. This is sort of a filler chapter so that I have less creative block when starting the 4th
chapter.
See you then!
