Previously on Naruto….

"I expected more of a fight. How disappointing, the village really has gone soft since I left this place."

….

"Are you going to be the fifth hokage?" Udon asked

"Well uh." Peri gulped. Of course the village believes that.

….

"Now the second exam has now begun, open the gates!"

-Team 8 (Hinata, Kiba, Sakura, and Shino)-

The first team out of the gate was Team Eight with Kiba, Shino, Hinata, and Sakura. "Alright! This exam is gonna be a breeze right Akamaru?" Kiba cheered

"Arf! Arf!" the puppy agreed

"Actually it may not be a breeze like you think it is…..Compared to the rest of the competition….we're at a serious disadvantage." Shino muttered.

"If you act like that then of course we're gonna fail!" the pink haired girl groaned

"What I'm saying is…we should try to be cautious. It's very man for himself out here. And we should try to take down the weakest team, a team we know we can defeat." the big user suggested

"Then let's go after Naruto's team; they don't stand a chance against us!" Kiba said, leading his team deeper in the forest.

(I don't want to fight Sasuke. He'll hate me forever!) the fan girl moped.

(W-What should I do? I don't want to fight Naruto.) Hinata moped.

-Team 10 (Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji)-

They just managed to get away from Neji, Tenten, and Rock Lee by a hair.

"Oh man that was too close!" Choji wheezed

"We didn't have to leave! I was wooing him with my beauty!" Ino protested

"They almost KILLED us. I think we should find another team-"

"You're right, let's team up with Sasuke! Come on, surely protect us!" Ino squealed grabbing the two boys's hands

"That's not what I was going to say at all, let go!" Shikamaru snapped.

-Team 7 (Naruto, Sasuke, and Peri)-

Sasuke and Peri were waiting silently for their teammates who were…well taking a leak. They were near a small stream of water and the Senju princess decided this was a perfect place to set up camp for. "Man what's taking him so long?"she muttered

"Ya know how he is. That loser probably saw one of the others and decided to chat." the black haired boy muttered.

"Sorry I'm late! That leak was longer than I thought!" Naruto

The Uchiha threw a kunai at Naruto.

"AH! Sasuke, what are you doing?! Peri stop him!" he pleaded

Then Senju threw another kunai at him.

"Peri not you too! What's wrong with you guys? It's me!" he wailed

"No it's not, what happened to the bruise on your cheek? Before we got here Naruto had a bruise on his cheek because Peri punched him." Sasuke explained.

"The jig's up now to show us who you are!" Peri demanded. And right after that a white puff of smoke revealed a teenage boy wearing a hidden rain headband.

"Hand over that scroll! Water Style: Raging Waves!" the teenage spat out a large stream of water

"Peri, find Naruto! Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

The large fireball countered the enemy's attack, creating a large wall of steam. The Senju princess manages to get her blonde teammate tied up, setting him free. The teenage boy that attacked him staggered up to his feet before running away.

"This proves we can't let our guard down. We need a way to know who we say we are. It's the only way we're gonna pass the test. The question will be this, 'When does a ninja strike?' And the answer will be a ninja strikes when the time is right in the stillness of the night. When the enemy drops their guard in darkness' sight. That's when a ninja strikes.' So got it?" Sasuke said.

"Y-You couldn't come up with a shorter one?" Peri and Naruto sweatdropped

No that's it and-"

BOOM!

A giant gust of wind swept the genin in the air and knocked them to the ground. The dust cleared revealing two men and one woman, all three of them wearing hidden grass headbands.

"You two can deal with the other…but leave these two to me." the woman instructed with a sick grin.

-Outside the Forest of Death-

Anko was sitting on the roof of the registration office eating dango. "Ah~ Nothing's better than dangos after a hard day of work." she smiled, throwing the empty stick against a tree. The camera panned away from her revealing the village's symbol made by dango sticks that were pinned against the tree. Two chunin ran to her with worried looks on their faces. "Anko, we have a problem." one of them spoke.

"If this is about the princess entering my test then too bad. Peri's a ninja so the council can just shut up. Honestly, politicians need to put a lid on it, plus she's a Senju. Shinobi battles are in her blood just like that Uchiha boy." the purple-haired woman sighed.

"That's not the problem. A foreign entered the test arena without registration."

The chunin then placed three dead bodies on the ground. There was no physical injuries, however their faces were gone.

"These were the three genin from the Hidden Grass Village. We found them like this one the way here." the other ninja ssaid

"No, their….. faces. T-There's only one person who can do this… and that's him." Anko shuddered.

"N-No you don't mean him! If that's the case the village's in danger."

"If he's here… and went to the forest then the participants…"

"Contact Lord Hokage immediately! Tell him we need to cancel the exams, meanwhile I go and stop him." Anko ordered running into the forest.

She put her hand on the mark on her neck. It pulsates with a dark chakra almost like it was reacting to something.

( I can't believe that traitor returned after all these years. But why? Why is he here?)

-Forest of Death: Naruto-

Naruto was lying upside down against a tree. "Oww..man that hurt. Peri? Sasuke? Can you guys hear me?" he groaned.

Nobody answered.

The blonde Uzumaki rolled right side up only to meet a giant snake.

"WHAT THE-THAT'S A BIG SNAKE! RUNNNNNN!" he screamed trying to get away.

The snake hissed, wrapping its body around Naruto before swallowing him whole.

"SOMEBODY HELP!" Naruto's muffled screams were heard inside the reptile's body.

-Forest of Death: Sasuke and Peri-

The Senju and Uchiha were both hiding in a bush after confirming that they were who they said they were.

Plus only Peri calls him duckbutt.

"I know you two are there." a woman said right behind them.

"What the-!" she gasped as her teammate pulled her away, nearly dodging another wind style attack.

The three of them were now in a forest clearing standing across from each other. Their attacker had long back haired and black eyes with a hidden grass headband tied around her forehead. She wore a long tank kimono that had long slits on each side revealing back pants underneath and a purple belt tied around the waist.

( I got a bad feeling about this lady.) Peri thought.

The woman pulled out a blue earth scroll. "Ah, I bet you love to get your hands on our earth scroll. It would look so nice with your heaven scroll." she grinned. The lady opened her mouth and slowly ate the scroll right in front of them.

"Well…after this one of us will have both scrolls. And the other will be DEAD"

A thousand kunai, swords, and blades pierced their bodies as their blood splatter threw the air. Their screams were cut after a loud pop and then there was darkness.

~Peri's Flashback~

It was a blurry dark hallway as she was running as fast as she could. Air sawed in and out of her lungs fear rushed through her vein.

She had to get away from him. She had to get back to her parents. A loud pop was heard causing her to fall. She looked up and saw an unrecognizable man holding some kind of needle.

"Will become my weapon and you will obey me," he said.

~End ofFlashback~

"Peri!"

"NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!" she screamed only to see Sasuke holding his cheeks. She blinked and saw Nebki purring again against her neck.

"Sasuke I-I'm sorry are you okay?"

"Hn I'm fine….I think I should be asking you that."

"...I'm okay." Peri said. She knew Sasuke did not believe her, but was glad that he didn't push the subject. There wasn't any time because a giant snake launched at them and was charging towards the Uchiha. But he wasn't moving.

"SASUKE!" she yelled, pulling the snake away from him.

The snake flew in the air and crash landed threw the trees as it hissed in pain. "Oh what strength. She's definitely a Senju." the woman noted ordering a second snake to attack them.

"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"

-Somewhere in the Forest of Death-

Anko shielded herself from rising debris as the wind began to die down. "That was that traitor's attack. Is he fighting someone?" she said.

(I know I sent word to Lord Hokage, but at this rate the genin are in danger . I need to get there fast.)

"I've got to hurry, whoever is fighting that snake is not going to survive." she muttered increasing speed. Dashing through the forest.

-Forest of Death: Sasuke and Peri-

Peri was crawling using the low branches and bushes as cover as she made her away through the forest floor. She was scared, this snake lady was stronger than them and her bloodlust was terrifying. Her knees shook just thinking about it.

A dark memory threatened to creep back in her mind, but the Senju quickly forced it back down.

No, not again. It was already bad enough that she broke down in front of Sasuke, she wasn't going to let it happen a second time. Remembering the look of Sasuke's face made her feel bad. He knew something was wrong, but she wasn't ready to talk about that to him. Not yet at least.

"Sasuke, are you oka-mhmm!" her mouth was covered shut by Sasuke's hand. Right above them was a giant snake sniffing around before moving away.

But it came right back and tried to swallow them whole again.

"Ahh! I didn't even sense it, I'm losing it!" he said, dodging another attack. He turned around bracing for another attack, but Naruto kicked the snake away.

"By the way….what was the password again?" he grinned

"Now is not the time to joke around!" Peri snapped with an anime tick mark on her forehead.

The giant snake retreated back to the mysterious black haired grass ninja. It bowed its head a little so she could stand on top of it, while the other giant snake slither back to her.

(So she was the one who sent that snake. She's gonna pay for that!) Naruto growled springing into battle ignoring his teammates.

Both Sasuke and Peri watched in horror as Naruto grabbed and restrained the lady's long snake-like tongue.

"EW! DISGUSTING LET GO OF ME!" he yelled trying to break free.

The lady ignored him, lifting up his jacket revealing his stomach. (An Eight Trigram Seal huh? It allows a small amount of the Nine-Tails' chakra to leak out and mixed with his own. It will be very bad for me if he continues to use it later on.)

"Five Pronged Seal!"

"Naruto!" Peri cried, leaping in the air and caught the unconscious blonde.

"Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!" Peri spat a volley of small fireballs at the lady.

"We need to get away from her now!" Sasuke said

Peri punched his chest. It wasn't hard, but he did stumble back a little.

"Get a hold of yourself Sasuke! I can't fight this lady alone. I need your help."

"Are you insane? We'll die if we fight her!" Sasuke yelled.

He expected her to punch him in the chest again, but instead she placed her hand on his cheek.

"Sasuke, I know you're scared. I'm scared too, but we're gonna die if we don't!" she yelled, but gasped as the snake grabbed her using its tail.

And that snapped him out of it.

He thought about Naruto who was attacked earlier and Peri who was now trying to break free. Both of them were fighting, while he just stood there like a coward, just like her brother said.

~Sasuke's Flashback~

A seven year old Sasuke cowered in fear in front of his once beloved older brother. "I-I-Itachi p-please. I don't want to die." he cried

Itachi looked at him with cold eyes.

"Hn. Such a coward, you're not even worth killing so go on before I change my mind. And once you have the same eyes come and face me." he said before leaving.

~End ofFlashback~

(Peri. Naruto. If I'm not strong enough to fight this lady. How can I ever expect to fight him!)

Sasuke narrowed his eyes, throwing an explosion tag in the giant snake's eyes. It went off with a bang and the Senju managed to break free gracefully landing on her feet next to him

"Oh. Have you decided to fight me? Well…try to make this interesting for me." the black-haired woman sneered on top of her giant snake.

The two friends nodded in understanding.

They needed to fight if they wanted to live.

"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" the mysterious enemy summoned a large gust of wind. The gust of wind charged towards them destroying everything in its path.

(So he has some spirit after all. A Senju and an Uchiha would be perfect for my collection.) The black haired grass ninja thought, kicking Sasuke away.

"HA!" Peri yelled, aiming her fist towards her head, the grass ninja dodge so the Senju's fist smashed against the tree, splintering it in half.

The two of them proceed to engage in a fierce taijutsu match, exchanging blows after blows, the mysterious lady's eyes seemed to glow, kicking the Senju in the stomach before trying to bite her. Before she could shock her, Sasuke grabbed her and tried the lady up with barbed wire against a tree.

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!" he blew hot flames through the wire engulfing the woman in flames as she screamed in pain.

There was a tense silence that came over them in a few minutes.

"I-Is it over?" Peri whispered from behind him. Only to hear Sasuke shout in pain, the supposed "woman" extended her neck and was now biting Sasuke's neck.

"LET GO OF HIM!" Peri screamed, punching the lady in the stomach. The enemy gagged, letting go of Sasuke's neck as Peri grabbed her arm and threw across the area slamming her against a tree.

Sasuke screamed in pain falling to his knees now breathing heavily. "Sasuke! What did you do?! Who are you?!" she demanded.

"To answer your question, my name is Orochimaru. Don't worry he's fine, I just gave him a little parting gift." the black haired man grinned.

(Orochimaru! He's one of the legendary Sannin! We gotta get out of here now!) Peri said to herself, grabbing both Sasuke and Naruto in her arms.. They needed to run, she needed them somewhere safe.

"It's over! I'll have you both as a part of my collection!" Orochimaru laughed charging right at Peri. But just then something caught his eye.

(A paper bomb!) he gasped raising his arms up like a shield.

BOOM!

The paper bomb went off forcing the snake Shannon to take cover behind a tree. The dust slowly began to settle, however, the three genin were nowhere in sight. " So she used the paper bomb as a diversion. Zaku! Dosu! Kin!"

Three sound ninjas appeared and bowed before him. They were the same ones who attacked Kabuto earlier before the exams began. "You called Lord Orochimaru?" Dosu asked

"Find Sasuke's team and once you do report to me and bring him." the sannin ordered.

"As you wish."

The three sound ninja disappear to begin their search.

-Somewhere in the Forest of Death-

Peri placed two wet rags on Naruto's and Sasuke's forehead. With them unconscious and injured they weren't going anyway, even Nebki was injured due to their battle with the sannin and used too much chakra trying to teleport them somewhere. And to make things worse Orochimaru was without a doubt looking for them.

"As long as we're here Orochimaru will find us. I can't fight him and Kakashi sensei isn't here. This is bad, what do I do?" she whispered, fighting back tears.

It took a lot to scare her, but she was scared. Not for herself, but for her teammates, especially Sasuke. That mark on his neck was pulsating with a dark aura causing the Uchiha pain. And there was nothing she could do. Peri hasn't felt this way since that one time many years ago and after that swore that she won't feel helpless again.

But she was.

Helpless and she hated it.

Fun Fact: Orochimaru snuck into the village by putting most of the guards in a genjutsu then attacked them.

Hey everyone, I know it's been a long time and I missed all of you. I had to take a short bre and a lot of things kept popping up lately and trying to do a lot of that while finishing this chapter was tricky.

But I'm gonna make it up to guys with a double upload. I'm working on the next chapter right now so it will come up in a day or two.
