Before you have a chance
To collapse to the ground,
I ran and caught you in my arms
Turning you around,
To get a better look at you,
Why did you fall in love with me
Was it because you needed someone
To fill the hole in your heart?
If not, then what was the reason
For it?
I lay your unconscious body
On the concrete floor
Blood seeping out of your wings
My palm spikes sticking out of them
I cringe with regret at what I did to you
I guess it had to be done
To save you from your inner darkness
I kneel down on my knee by your side,
My hand hovers over your heart
Preparing to fire one final palm spike
To put an end to your suffering
I couldn't go through with it
Something stops me from doing so,
From committing the act
Was I ready to pay
The ultimate price
To sever my bond
With you
I can't quite get over the feeling
Of uncertain emotions
That are blooming
In my hollow heart
Before we even met
The only thing I care about besides my species
Were my pets
Who I had ever since birth.
