Protecting What Is Mine

I hear footsteps heading in our direction

They were so slow, it sound like

A beating of a heart

A figure appears out of the darkness,

It says it knows me

I never seen this figure in my life,

She must have ticked it off,

After bringing me back

Thus making it lose

A soul it already claimed,

I get up from my spot

Beside you

Getting in it's way

You think I let you take her away from me,

You got another thing coming,

I thank you, Phoenix

For taking us in

When we had no where else to go

Reviving my lost limb

Now it's time for us to return the favor

Letting out a protective roar

Stretching my arms out

Preparing to fire my main use of a prime weapon.

Once it brought out it's scythe like weapon

Ready to cleave my head from my shoulders

I realized that this is the humans persona of Death

Or what they refer to it as the Grim Reaper.

I did tell it earlier

Before this battle started,

For your soul

That I would protect what is mine

Even if it cost me, my life.

I could tell in its' eyeless sockets,

It's true intentions for me,

Unable to nod my head,

I looked at it head on,

I tell it to go ahead.

Signifying to it, to end my life.

You may destroy my body,

You can never destroy my soul.
