Reunited With A Lost Pet

I let one of my symbionts out

Asking in our native language

Mine with growls and snarls

His with his clicks

To watch over you,

As I stepped outside,

Leaning my back against the wooden walls

Of my old hangout

Wrapping my right arm around my torso,

Tighting my hand into a fist

Getting use of my left arm again.

I see the patch of skin in my hand

I finally have my boy back

My dearest symbiont

Who was taken from me so many years ago,

The memory of that tragic event still fresh in my mind

I wonder

Does Kay remember me

Or does he think my species

Has truly been annihilated from existence

Since I'm no longer around,

To represent them anymore,

A smile spread across my face

Imagining his reaction

If we do cross paths one day

I felt the patch beginning to open.

His spiny legs crawling up my arm

To my neck

Nuzzling affectionately,

Gently stroking him.

As any master would do to their pet

Telling him how much I missed him.
