Every so often, she thought that is she had chosen not to go, that if she hadn't, she wouldn't be here now.

He could not remember a time where he hadn't regretted his decision that he went.

She was a Mystery.

He was a Monster.

She wished for nothing more than to be normal.

He did, too.

He was Remus, and she was Ellianna. Neither of the two knew about the other, till one day, through to a series of unfortunate events that began the evening she got into her sister's car, their paths crossed. Ellianna had never believed in destined love. Remus did, but thought himself to be undeserving of it. Both were proven wrong, for such a thing as destined love may be a sham, but it would be foolish to deny that what they felt for each other wasn't true.

But before they came to know each other, they lived seperate lives. And that time, presumably, is what made them destined. And, simply for the sake of understanding, this story begins with a bit about their past.

(A bit about Remus and Ellianna)

She was Ellianna Keller.

One could say that she was the epitome of normal. She had interests, likes and dislikes like other people her age. She was precise and excelled in everything that required a scientific approach. She was conventionally kind and she always steered away from trouble. She had many ambitions and played as many instruments. She had never been in love, for she believed that to be a form of trouble too. Her life was as ordinary as a teenager their life could get. There wasn't anything special about her. Ellianna Keller was the epitome of normal...

Except that she wasn't.

Years ago, on a night as normal as it could be, a young girl, named Ellianna Keller had made the decision to go into the city. She soon came to regret it, for a tragic incident had fallen upon the girl. After that night, she was to never be the same anymore. For on that evening –an evening as normal as any other– Ellianna had discovered something about herself. In the years to follow, she did everything in her power to ensure that no one would ever discover that part of her, for she feared they would fear her. So she did whatever sensible young girl would do... she hid that part deep within herself, so that it would never reveal itself to the outside world. In all those years however, Ellianna kept wondering about one thing– What was the part that had shown itself in her on that one normal night long ago?

Ellianna Keller was a mystery of sorts.

He was Remus Lupin.

There wasn't a person alive that denied him being perfect. He was better than almost every other person his age. Everything about him was exceptional, that one could not help but be envious of him. He was most intelligent and seemed to be exceedingly talented in everything he did. He was kind-hearted and polite. He was unique and always did the right thing. He had yet to experience the feeling of love, but he made sure for it not to happen, for he believed that to be the right thing. His life couldn't be any more different than the life of an ordinary teenager. There wasn't a thing about Remus Lupin that wasn't perfect...

Except that there was.

When he was just a boy, Remus Lupin was walking through the forest near his house. He knew it was wrong to go alone, his father had told him not to go outside, but Remus had made the decision to go anyway. The night had been perfect, just as they always were, but the young wizard should have known better than to disobey his father. Perfect soon came to an end for the young Remus. With one bite– just one bite– his life had taken a turn away from perfect. Nights, that used to be beautiful. Nights, that used to keep Remus Lupin up for hours on end so he could stargaze. Nights, that used to be so perfect... were diminished with the happening of just one bite. After that night, he was never to be the same anymore. Something new, something awful, something scary had formed within the young boy. Something he didn't want anyone to find out. For he knew, if they would, they would loathe him. In the years to follow, Remus Lupin became less and less perfect.

Remus Lupin was a monster of sorts.

Both were haunted by their past and both were determined to never let anyone find out.

But no matter how hard one may fight... secrets are bound to be revealed.
