Chapter 6: Hero In A Dungeon

Argo gave a smile as he ran down the bustling streets. Even when it was past midnight the streets just never went silent. A feature Argo wouldn't change if he had the chance. He needed a bit of an escape from Loki. Since she seemed to see through him already. Instantly assigning him to be bunked with a stern looking Pallum.

He'd been running towards the dungeon. He figured it'd be better to spend the night there since things at the Manor were looking a bit drab, and he wasn't able to explore before.

It didn't take long for the boy to get to the dungeon. His hands naturally pulling out his flaming blade as he descended the stairs. His footsteps not making a sound as he did so even with the metal clung to his body.

It wasn't long until the boy happened upon a goblin in the first floor. The clown didn't give it much of a chance as he leapt forward magic sword in hand swinging violently and slaying the goblin. His smile never faded even when he did the most menial of tasks like collecting the crystals the creatures dropped.

His eyes glanced from side to side as he began running further into the dungeon. His steps were soft and without sound, however he heard the sound of metal and skin slapping against the stone behind him with enhanced like hearing. He had a hunch they weren't there to hurt him since he didn't feel any blood lust. So he decided to play with them a bit running deep into the dungeon slaying creatures in his path grabbing the crystals he could while sprinting.

He noticed he was on the floor that he'd helped Bell out on. His sword throbbing in his hands looking for a good story to tell about his adventure in the dungeon. He planned to spin the one he'd made when 'saving' Bell, however he felt he needed a better base for that story.

It wasn't much later that the footsteps closed in on him again. "Uuuugh" Argo complained. "Just come out. You're so loud the people above could hear you" Argo complained still holding a smile on his face as he looked towards the source of the noise.

"Awh he could tell" A young Amazonian stepped out from the dark with a rather unbothered look on her face. Or rather an amused smile as an emotionless girl followed.

Argo gripped his chest as he noticed the emotionless expression on the girls face, and suddenly he found it to be nothing less than a declaration of war.

"Challenge accepted!" The boy said pointing the tip of his sword towards the Sword Princess.

The same Princess let her head hand to the left. "What challenge?" She questioned pulling out her sword in response to the Argonauts comment.

"H-Hey it was a figure of speech" Argo said holding up his hands in defeat. It was however much to late now as the sword princess lunged forward.

"EEK!" The Argonaut managed a girlish scream as she moved near.

As quick as she moved so did Argo. His body jumping to the right to avoid the slash. His instincts telling him that sword in particularity was something that would cut him down if he wasn't careful. Argo didn't stop there jumping back quickly as he began to run from the sword princess. Who in a flash was riding his tail in hot pursuit.

The three quickly roughhousing their way down to the lower floors. Or rather Ais was trying to injure Argo. While the white haired hero in question ducked and dodged her advances. Using his flaming magic sword to carve a path down the floors.

"I AM NOT A MONSTER LAWNMOWER!" Argo complained as his sword got so hot it began to burn his hands.

It wasn't much longer until the three entered the bosses layer. Argo who was out of breath stopped in his tracks as even Ais stopped attacking him. They'd just ran into the boss room, and Tiona didn't even have a weapon.

A bead of sweat fell from Tiona's brow as Argo noticed the massive figure in front of himself. No smaller than the windmills he use to swing his sword at when he was younger claiming them to be giants.

"Ho Ho" Argonaut muttered as the boss faced him. His blood began to boil as it did with the Minotaur he'd fought in his last life.

"So you've come again my old nemesis" Argo said flicking his blade outwards to his right side. "Good. Now then. Lets see how the Giant fares against the Clown" Argo said with a beaming smile. "This will be a challenge of laughter and blood" Argonaut said stepping forward.

The two behind him had their eyes light up. His demeanor. His character. Even his back changed in one moment. At first he was a joker with slouched shoulders.

Now. Now his back was no less as strong as a first class adventurer. Broad enough to bare the weight of the world, and strong enough to lift it higher if he wanted. A back his comrades could rely on. The back of a hero.

No sooner did the Argonaut let the features show did he lunge forward. The man who made heroes a reality. A man who both girls had known of his venture. Finally they'd get to see what he was really made of.

The battle had started with great speeds. Goliath had thrown the first punch slamming his massive fist into the ground hoping to crush the fool in one blow, however he didn't expect the boy to jump upon his fist and run up it.

The tip of Argo's magic sword dragging across the creature's flesh left a blazing trail of fire all the way up the Goliath's arm. Causing a massive roar to echo around the floor. Argo didn't stop. He dared not falter in his path forward.

"The path of a hero" Argo began leaping from the Goliath's shoulder twisting his own body to face it's massive head. "Is filled with up and downs." Argo continued. His flaming sword shining brighter and brighter. "BUT A HERO SMILES THROUGH IT ALL!" Argo said with a howl that matched the Goliath. "MAGIC FLAME SWORD BURN!" Argo screamed once again swinging his sword as a blazing slash cut across the air ripping the Goliath's head clean off. Argo hadn't finished as he brought his sword downward. "BLAZING CROSS" Argo finished sending a blazing wave of flame cutting the Goliath in half quickly ending the creature right there and then.

"Good. I won again" Argo said with a smile before realizing he was falling. "CRAAAAP" The Clown screamed before slamming into the stone below. "ACCK" The boy cried out as he landed face first into the stone.

"Pffft" At that moment both the girls couldn't help but give a laugh towards the Clown. They'd been touched by his determination before, however they tried not to dwell on the fact Argo was not only faster than the Goliath at level one, but also the fact that Argo really defeated it with only two strikes.

"Ugh." Argo said peeling his face from the stone and rubbing the pebbles from his skin. "How could you laugh at my heroics. Wasn't I the coolest?" Argo complained holding himself up by his magic sword before stepping past Ais and towards the Amazonian.

"Did I make you swoon again Olna" The Clown teased before Tiona gave a tilt to her head.

"I'm Tiona though?" The amazonian said with devious eyes before giving The Clown a playful punch. Not really checking how much power the punch had.

Unfortunately for Argo the punch from the Amazonian was so strong he sounded like a whoopee cushion as he was sent flying across the stone floor. Rolling to try and ease the speed before eventually crashing into the wall in an overly dramatic fashion.

"T-Tiona" Ais spoke up as Tiona's eyes widened. "T-That was my fight" Ais complained with a pouting expression. Causing the Amazonian to throw her hands behind her head and try to whistle innocently. Even Tiona knew what stealing the Sword Princesses prey meant.

"I don't think he's dead. Go over and poke him to make sure though" Tiona said pointing at the now unconscious Argonaut.

The two quickly found the boy was breathing heavily. They quickly holstered his sword back into its sheathe before Tiona lifted him on her back and the two cut down any monster that dared cross their path as the hurried assuming the worst. All the while Tiona brought along the crystal that Argo had gotten from the boss to avoid the hassle of coming back empty handed after defeating a floor boss.
