She was even more beautiful up close than Bella thought. Her hair was long and silky and soft, her eyes dark, yet they sparkled, and her lips were fuller, plumper than before and ruby red. Her skin was soft ivory, and she wondered what it would be like to touch her, to feel her body pressed against hers.

"Did he hurt you?" she asked, biting her lip as she looked out the front windshield.

Bella followed her gaze, seeing the auburn haired boy and the shaggy blond beating the crap out of Jacob Black, taking turns hitting him, kicking him. She should have stopped them. Charlie wasn't going to like it when he heard, but at that moment, she didn't much care what Charlie would like, or what happened to Jacob Black.

"No," Bella replied quickly, looking back at her. "How'd you know where I was?"

She inhaled a deep breath and looked back at her. "Let's just say you aren't the first girl Jacob Black has brought up here. Most of them don't fight him, though. They just let him take what he wants, but not you. You tried to fight him, didn't you?"

"Did he bring you here?" she heard herself asking.

The girl laughed; the sound of her laughter causing Bella's entire body to tingle. "Oh, Hell no!"

Relief filled Bella, though she couldn't understand why. She didn't know the girl sitting across from her. Not really, but she found herself relieved that Jacob Black had never put his hands on her, the way he had hers.

"I'm Alice, by the way."

"Bella," she replied.

"I know," she laughed, smiling. "I've seen you up in your room. Watching me, watching us."

"Sorry," she muttered, feeling her cheeks turn red.

"I like when you watch me." Alice leaned over, placing her hand on Bella's cheek, causing her to gasp. "You have an eyelash. Better make a wish."

Bella's eyes closed, her heart racing as she made her wish. It might have been her imagination, but she could have sworn she felt Alice's breath on her face. Yet when she opened her eyes, she saw her seated on the other side of the backseat.

The driver door and passenger door opened, and Bella blew out a deep breath as the auburn haired boy and the shaggy blond climbed back in. She could see Jacob Black leaning against the side of his truck. He was moving, so at least she knew they hadn't killed him.

"You okay, darlin?" the shaggy blond asked, shifting in his seat and looking back at her. "Do we need to take you to the hospital?"

"I'm fine," she whispered.

"You sure now?" he asked, the left side of his lip curving upward. "

"Yeah, I'm sure," Bella said, shifting her eyes from him to the driver and back to Alice, who smiled wider. "Thank you. I, um, didn't know how I was going to get out of there."

"You weren't," the auburn haired boy said, looking back at her. "You're the Swan girl, right? The chief's daughter?"

"Bella," she quipped.

He smiled. "Edward Masen. And this is Jasper Whitlock, and Alice Brandon."

"It's nice to meet you," Jasper said with a wide grin, his eyes flickering to Alice before moving back to her. "Now, we'd better get out of here before your daddy comes looking for us."

"Why would he come here?" she asked.

Edward and Jasper looked at each other before they turned and looked at where Jacob Black was slumped over. "Let's just say," Edward grumbled. "This isn't our first run in with Jacob Black. Won't take Chief Swan long to realize that it was us."

"Even if you were helping me?" Bella asked. Of course, the moment the words were out of her mouth, she realized how ridiculous she sounded. "He knows that Jacob does this, and still made me go out with him."

"You sound surprised," Edward scoffed, starting the car and shifting it into reverse. "You're not the first lesbian Jacob Black has tried to fuck straight."

Bella gasped, causing the three of them to laugh.

"What?" Jasper asked. "You don't think the queer kids from next door can't spot one of our own?"
