Kairi was on the beach, waiting for her friends to return. Sora and Riku left not long after she found that letter sent by King Mickey. She put on a smile for them when they left, but she was falling apart on the inside. Tired of being left behind and stuck on the island while her two best friends were going on amazing adventures, Kairi began to sing.

"Don't be upset or mad at all
Don't feel regret or sad at all
Hey, I'm still their best friend, although I was not called
And I'm fine
I am totally fine
I will stand on the side as you shine
I'm not fine
I'm not fine

I can't fight like you can
Though I try, I cannot reach
I can't take another night
Stuck on this beach
Waiting on a miracle

I can't heal what's broken
Can't control the elements though I try my best
Can't keep down this pain that I have in my chest
Always waiting on a miracle
A miracle

Always walking alone
Always wanting for more
Like I'm still at that door
Longing to shine like all of you shine
All I need is a change
All I need is a chance
All I know is I can't stay on the side
Open your eyes
Open your eyes
Open your eyes

I would fight like you can
Find a way to learn and grow
Someone please just let me know
Where do I go
I am waiting on a miracle
A miracle

I would heal what's broken
Show my best friends something new
Who I am inside
So what can I do
I'm sick of waiting on a miracle
So here I go

I am ready
Come on, I'm ready
I've been patient and steadfast and steady
Bless me now as you blessed me all those years ago
When you gave me a miracle
Am I too late for a miracle"

A gummi ship landed on the island, and she ran toward it. "Sora!" She called out when the door opened.

Instead of Sora as she expected, Riku stepped out alone. "Nope, just me. Sorry. I'm actually here on business. Master Yen Sid gave me orders to bring you to his tower," Riku explained.

"Why? What's going on?" Kairi asked.

"I don't know. I guess we'll find out when we get there. You in?" Riku asked.

Kairi smiled, knowing that she had found her miracle. "Of course. I want to help."

Thank you, inconsistentracoon, for favoriting.

Noelle Anglade: Thank you for the ideas. Even though in the end I selected Kairi for this one and am going in a different direction for Surface Pressure (though I don't think you'll be disappointed on that one), they helped me get started in the right direction and play around with some scenarios.
