Like all good things, Bella had barely had time to react to Alice's lips on hers when someone knocked on the door to their bedroom, causing both of them to groan.

"Hold that thought, Beautiful," Alice snickered before climbing off Bella and hurrying over to the door, throwing it open.

Carlisle was leaning against the wall, a smirk on his lips that made it clear he knew what they had been doing, or maybe going to be doing. She wasn't sure how far she and Alice would have gone had he not interrupted them, but she would have liked to have found out. She hadn't been lying when she admitted that she fantasized about Alice, and not just before they rescued her from him, either. From the moment she saw the dark haired beauty in the living room window, she'd wanted her; wanted her like she'd never wanted another girl. There had been many nights where she'd slid her fingers into her panties, her eyes closed and the picture of Alice between her legs.

"Sorry to, um, interrupt," Carlisle snickered. "But Garrett and Kate are downstairs, and they'd like to speak to you, Bella, so hurry up and change, okay?"

Bella nodded.

He smiled and looked from her to Alice, laughing when she glared at him. Alice shut the door to their bedroom and turned back to Bella. "Guess we'll just have to, um, talk more later."

"Yeah, talk," Bella laughed and stood up off the bed, walking over to Alice, placing her hands on her hips and pushing her against the door, causing her to gasp. "Can't wait to . . . talk more later."

"Bella," she whimpered. "We could ignore them."

She smiled. "We could try, but something tells me that we won't be successful."

"You're right," she sighed, leaning forward and pressing her lips against Bella's again. "Okay, let's get this over with, and then we can come back up here and . . . talk."

Though, she didn't want to, Bella released her hold on Alice and took a couple steps backward, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, all right."

Ten minutes later, they had both changed into jeans and tees. Weaving their hands together, they headed downstairs, where they found Garrett and Kate sitting in the living room with not only Carlisle, Emmett, Rose, Esme, Edward, and Jasper, but Peter Davis and Marcus Volturi, as well. She and Alice shared a look before they walked over and sat down on the couch next to Rose and Esme.

"Why I do I get the feeling like everything is about to blow up in my face?"

Garrett laughed. "I wouldn't use the words 'blow up', but things are going to get interesting."

"Can we call you Bella?" Peter asked, and she nodded. "Bella, have you ever heard of the Midnight Sun Society?"

"No," she replied. "What is that?"

"The Midnight Sun Society is a . . . Well, let's call it an organization that promotes the purity of the human race."

"What exactly does that mean?" she asked, regretting it immediately.

Marcus frowned. "They believe that the human race is in danger of corruption by the . . . queers of the world, for the lack of a better word."

"So if you're not like one hundred percent straight, you're tearing the world apart?" she asked.

"Something like that," Marcus confirmed. "They believe that with the right amount of force, they can convince people to give up their sinful ways, therefor saving the world from a bunch of queers."

"You mean fuck them straight?" she asked. "Like they tried with me."

"Unfortunately," Peter admitted. "And, sadly, they've been successful with a lot of people, Bella."

"How many is a lot?"

Peter and Marcus shared a look before Peter said, "More than a hundred in the continental United States. Maybe more abroad."

"A hundred?" she asked, her mouth opening in horror. "They're responsible for the rapes of a hundred people?"

"At least, if . . . if not more," Marcus confirmed. "We've been tracking them for almost two decades, Bella, but they always seem to stay just outside of the law. We've nabbed a few low level members, but they refuse to turn on them."

"I don't understand," Bella whimpered. "You're saying my mom and dad are a part of this Midnight Sun Society?"

"Yes, Bella," Marcus said, frowning. "They joined the Midnight Sun Society when they were still in high school. They, along with Billy Black, a man named Harry Clearwater, and his wife Sue. They've expanded over the years since Charlie and Renee split up, though. Harry and Sue now live in North Carolina, where they run the eastern branch of the organization. Billy and Charlie ran the Pacific Northwest, and your mother, Bella, well, Renee ran everything in between. They have more than a hundred operatives across the country, but all of them, Bella, all of them answer to only one person."

"Charlie," she said, nodding.

"No, Bella, not Charlie Swan," Marcus replied, giving Peter another look.

"Then who?" she asked.

"Your grandfather."
