Auggie's POV
Noah and I went over to KC and Farkle's place. He's become a part of L.A. Survivors.
"Hey guys," Farkle said after he opened the door. "Come in."
We walked in and sat down.
"So, what's up?" I asked.
"I'd like you both, along with Aaron, to help me do a song for the day in between KC and Brooklyn's birthdays in a week," he told us.
"What song?" Noah asked.
"Formidable by Twenty One Pilots," Farkle answered. "It's a kind of a 'look into the future' type song. I want to play it for Brooklyn, and KC loves that song." He looked at both of us. "So, are you guys up for it?"
"Yeah," we both agreed.
"Great!" He said, happily. "You play guitar, right, Noah?"
"Yes," Noah answered.
"Good, so you'll be playing acoustic and I'll be playing electric guitar," Farkle told him.
"What about me?" I asked.
"You'll be playing synth strings of the keyboard," he replied.
I nodded.
We practiced the whole week after school.
When Saturday (November 5th) came, we walked up to the stage at Topanga's.
Farkle started talking into the mic.
"Wow, I haven't performed on this stage in over a year," he said with a laugh. "So, my wife, KC, turned 23 yesterday," he said. A few people cheered. "And our daughter, Brooklyn, is turning one tomorrow. KC loves this song." KC smiled at him. "This song is a kind of about how scary it can be to be a parent, which, I'm sure, all of the parents here would agree. You never know how things will turn out, whether or not you'll be able to handle what's to come- especially if you're a dad to a daughter." He looked back at us. "So this is Formidable by Twenty One Pilots."
"Love you, Brookly!" Aaron shouted.
Brooklyn smiled. I can tell she likes her nickname from him.
Aaron started playing the drums.
Then we all joined in with our instruments. Farkle started singing, and Noah and I sang back up for him.
You are formidable to me/ 'Cause you seem to know it, where you wanna go/ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll follow you/ But you should know/ I might be cynical towards you/ But I just can't believe that I'm for you/ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can die with you/ Just let me know
And I know that we just met/ But could you take me everywhere you've ever been?/ I wanna see it all, no surprises/ Yeah
You are formidable to me/ 'Cause you seem to know it, where you wanna go/ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll follow you/ But you should know/ I might be clinical, don't you tell/ I won't break your heart, if you can break my spell/ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can die with you/ Just let me know
Fast-forward thirteen years now/ Don't know what it was but somehow we played it out in reverse/ I'm afraid of you now more than I was at first/ And I know you just left but can I take you everywhere we've ever been?/ I wanna see it all, no surprises/ Yeah
You are formidable to me/ 'Cause you seem to know it, where you wanna go/ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll follow you/ But you should know/ I might be cynical towards you/I'm just worried my loyalty will bore you/ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can die with you/ Just let me know/ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can die with you/ Just let me know
We finished playing and Brooklyn started clapping, happily. I smiled. Farkle walked over to KC and she handed her over to him. I walked to my mom.
"That was very sweet, Babe," KC told Farkle.
"What did you think, Brooklyn?" He asked her. She smiled happily at him. "Please don't grow up too fast."
KC laughed.
I smiled at them. Aaron ran over.
"She liked it, right?" He question his parents.
"Yeah," KC answered him, "we both did."
"Good!" He said with a smile.
Author's Note: I ABSOLUTELY LOVEFormidable by Twenty One Pilots, it's my favorite song from their new album! It's such a sweet song.
