Kagome expected flair and confetti when they arrived, but the queen seemed to be waiting for the official gathering to announce Sesshoumaru's return. They didn't even walk in through the front doors, electing to fly instead, his arm secured around her waist as they landed on an open balcony.

She'd never been inside the castle, this one or otherwise, so all she had were the imaginings of the fairy tales from her mother's scrolls. There was also a lack of glittering silk and jewels hanging from the ceiling, the room screaming comfort, not luxury.

The bed was simple, with four posts and a layer of furs folded against the headboard. Kagome was immediately reminded of falling asleep against his fur, and she blushed.

"We have barely been here a few minutes, and you are already filled with lewd thoughts," he mused, chuckling softly.

Kagome groaned and covered her face. "You are not allowed to use my scent against me! And you have no idea what I was thinking about."

"Do I not?" He leaned down, pressing his nose against her neck and inhaling deeply. "You have looked nowhere else since we arrived.

"I'm just not used to such extravagance," she argued, ignoring how her toes curled at his touch.

"Hnn." Fangs nipped at the base of her ear, but he pulled away, relieving her of her bag before ushering her toward the door. "I have something to show you as it is."

Kagome perked up, already looking around, but he led her down a maze of hallways, leaving her head spinning at the thought of trying to make it back to the room without help.

She was definitely going to need a map.
