Ava's POV

Auggie, Noah, and I walked into the Auditorium in New Jersey the KC and Farkle are playing at. They've actually gotten pretty well known.

They went to the stage and started playing some songs. They got a lot of applause. They have a new drummer who will be a senior next school year. His name's Jacob.

I looked over at my boyfriend who was standing next to me. He got a haircut a few days after graduation. He doesn't have the "mop" on his head anymore. He wanted a change since we'll be high schoolers.

"Now, we'd like to bring up some friends to perform a song with us," Farkle said.

"Please help us welcome L.A. Survivors and Ava Morgenstern!" KC exclaimed, happily.

L.A., Auggie, Noah, and I went up to the stage. Aaron replaced Jacob at the drums, Noah got on guitar, and Auggie sat at the piano. Farkle put on his bass. I stood next to KC at the mic next to hers.

"So, Ava and I picked out this song together," KC said. "It's about beating the odds that are against us. We are never backing down. This is one of my favorite songs from my favorite show Julie and the Phantoms."

I smiled. Auggie started playing the piano.

(Ava, KC, Both, Farkle, Auggie)

Don't blink/ No, I don't want to miss it/ One thing, and it's back to the beginning/ 'Cause everything is rushing in fast/ Keep going on, never look back

And it's one, two, three, four times/ That I'll try for one more night/ Light a fire in my eyes/ I'm going out of my mind

Whatever happens/ Even if I'm the last standing/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall/ Whatever happens/ Even when everything's down/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall/ I gotta keep on dreaming/ 'Cause I gotta catch that feeling/ Whatever happens/ Even if I'm the last standing/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall\

Aaron started playing the drums. Then Farkle joined in with the bass.

Right now/ I'm loving every minute/ Hands down/ Can't let myself forget it, no/ 'Cause everything is rushing in fast/ Keep holding on, nevеr look back

And it's one, two, three, four times/ That I'll try for one morе night/ Light a fire in my eyes/ I'm going out of my mind

Whatever happens/ Even if I'm the last standing/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall/ Whatever happens/ Even when everything's down/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall/ I gotta keep on dreaming/ 'Cause I gotta catch that feeling/ Whatever happens/ Even if I'm the last standing/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall

Like I'm glowing in the dark/ I keep on going when it's all falling apart/ Yeah I know it with all my heart/ Ooh, ooh/ Never look back

Whatever happens/ Even if I'm the last standing/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall

Whatever happens/ Even if I'm the last standing/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall

Stand tall

Stand tall

Whatever happens/ Even if I'm the last standing/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall/ Whatever happens/ Even when everything's down/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall/ I gotta keep on dreaming/ 'Cause I gotta catch that feeling/ Whatever happens/ Even if I'm the last standing/ I'ma stand tall/ I'ma stand tall

When we finished, everyone applauded. I smiled. I looked over at Auggie. He smiled at me.

After their concert was over we all went with KC and Farkle out for Pizza.

"That was fun," I said.

"Yeah, it always is for us," KC said, "Especially when we sing songs that mean something to us."

"Thanks for always being there to talk to me," I told her.

"No problem," she said. "I never really had that growing up. I had Jaxon to talk to…but no one that really understood what I was going through." I smiled at her.

"So what was your favorite part of the show?" Farkle asked.

"Getting to play the piano sing that part in front of all those people!" Auggie said.

"You doing that guitar solo, sliding on your knees," Noah told Farkle.

"Which I will have to stitch up," KC said. Farkle smiled at her. "He pricks his finger anytime he tries to sew."

"It's hard," he told her.

"No it's not," Noah said. "I do it with my mom all the time."

"It just takes patience," KC said, "which you don't have."

Farkle rolled his eyes.

I laughed.

I looked at Auggie. He looked uncomfortable. He's probably hurting. KC saw it too.

"You need some Aleve, Aug?" She asked him.

He looked at her, and nodded. She got him some, then switched seats with me, so I could comfort him. I interlocked my fingers with his. I kissed him on the head. He looked over at me and let out a small smile.
