Ava's POV

Auggie and I were sitting on the couch, working on homework. I had my right ankle tucked under my left thigh, while Auggie kept his feet on the ground.

"Hey, Ava?" He questioned.

I looked up from my math book and at him.

"Yeah?"

"There should be no secrets between us, right?"

"Yeah," I answered. "Why?"

He set down his book and looked at me.

"I knew you were pregnant before you told me," he confessed.

"What?"

"That night I hurt you at that Valentine's party," he began, "I went to tell you and KC that dinner was ready and overheard you guys talking." He looked down, then back at me. "I heard that you were pregnant and lost the baby."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I wanted you to tell me yourself when you were ready," he admitted. "I didn't want to put any pressure on you. It made me feel even worse knowing that."

I hugged him around the shoulders.

"I love you," I told him.

"I love you too," he replied. "Want to watch some TV now, for a break?"

"Sure."

He turned on the TV and it was on the news.

"A 10 year old girl, Tracy Limpky, was attacked on her way to school," a news anchor said. "It's believed that the man that attacked her was a known sex offender, Justin Westley." It showed the guys picture on the screen. "The police are searching for him now. If you see him, do not approach and contact law enforcement immediately." His picture disappeared.

I just stared at the screen.

Auggie turned off the TV.

"Ava—" Auggie started.

"If I see him, I'm gonna kill him," I said angrily. "No one is going to get away with doing that!"

"No, if you see him, you're calling Captain Benson," Auggie corrected me. "They're probably the ones taking the case."

"Yeah," I agreed. "Thanks for keeping my head on, Pookie."

"You haven't called me that in years," he commented.

"Well, then it's coming out of retirement."

He smiled at me.

Auggie's POV

Ava and I went to Topanga's to get some smoothies. After Katy gave us the smoothies, we left and started walking to go to Central Park. While we were waiting to cross at a stoplight, I saw that Ava was looking over. I looked to see what she was looking at and realized that it was the guy from the TV, wearing a cap. Ava let go of my hand and picked up a rock. My eyes grew wide.

"Ava! Do—"

I was too late. She threw the rock and it hit the guy in the arm. He looked at us. He looked angry. He started walking towards us.

"Run!" Ava said, urgently. She grabbed my hand and pulled me with her.

As we were running, I told her. "We need to call her!"

Ava carefully pulled her phone out of her pocket. She hit a button and put her phone to her ear.

"Hey Olivia," she said into the phone. "Well, you know that guy from the news that hurt that little girl?" She waited for the answer. "Yeah, well…he's chasing us…me and Auggie." She listened. "Central Park…Okay."

She put her phone back into her pocket with a little struggle.

"What did she say?"

"To still go to Central Park," she answered.

We ran to Central Park. We stopped in the middle and looked for Captain Benson. The guy grabbed Ava's arm.

"Let go of my girlfriend's arm," I ordered him.

"Both of you will come with me, or she will die."

"Let go of the girl, Westley," I heard Noah's honorary Aunt's voice say. I looked over and saw Detective Rollins with Captain Benson.

He let her go. Detective Rollins cuffed him. She hauled him away.

"So why was he chasing you?" Noah's mom questioned us.

"I threw a rock at him and it hit him in his arm," Ava confessed.

"What is it with you two and rocks?" She asked, rhetorically, with a slight laugh. "Please don't try to take matters into your own hands, Ava. I know you meant well, but you guys could have gotten really hurt."

"Sorry," she apologized.

"So were you guys coming here for a date?"

"Yeah," I confirmed. "We were going to drink our…smoothies here." I realized we dropped them while running.

"Would you mind coming back to the station?" She asked. "We'll need to get your full statements. I'll buy you take-out."

"Sure," We both said.

We gave our statements and talked while we ate. Detective Rollins said that she thinks that Aaron likes her daughter, Jesse.
