Tanya watched as the Quileute tribe carried out her things from the cabin she had shared with her ex-husband Jacob. Billy, the chief of the tribe and Jacob's father, had finally granted the divorce and Jacob had immediately married Leah Clearwater. She was moving across town in the saloon, Bella had offered her a permanent room there until she could figure things out. Edward had a wagon waiting, it was where the men were putting what few things she owned.

When the wagon was loaded Edward, who was sitting in the driver's seat reached for Maggie, whom she'd been clutching to her chest. She handed the babe up and one of the tribesmen helped her up. She situated herself beside Edward seeing how the back of the wagon was full, and he handed her Maggie back. At his command, the wagon moved forward away from the Quileute tribe.

"Thank you for helping." She whispered. She felt awkward in his presence considering she once tried to trap him into a marriage with her.

"Your welcome, but you should be thanking my wife it's her generosity, not mine." He said his tone made it clear he wasn't happy being there.

"I will when I see her." It was all she could think to say.

The rest of the ride was silent. Tanya was aware of why he didn't want to converse with her. Edward was the first man she'd tried to trap but had failed, only to fall back with Jacob her second choice. Maggie had been the result of that trap. She hadn't meant for any of this happen, and at first, she had thought that Maggie was Jacob's but as her pregnancy had progressed she realized she wasn't. At that point it had been too late, she and Jacob were already married.

Liam was an Irishman who'd come to town looking for gold and a good time. He worked in mines all day and spent his nights in Swan Saloon. Tanya had taken a liking to him but she'd had her sights set on Edward at the time. Liam and Jacob had just been a means to an end. However, Tanya hadn't realized Edward was sleeping with Bella at the time. If she had she would have just married Liam, she had preferred him to Jacob anyway.

Edward stopped the wagon in front of the saloon where Bella was waiting with Rosalie McCarty. They helped her and Maggie from the wagon while Emmett and Jasper began to help Edward unload the wagon and carry her things inside. Edward stopped briefly to kiss his wife hello.

"Thank you, Bella," Tanya said as he walked away.

Bella smiled, "Your welcome. You can stay as long as you like."

Tanya didn't know what to say so she just carried Maggie inside and up to the room she'd be staying in. The men left her alone once her things had been brought up and the two women hadn't followed her up the stairs. A cradle had been provided for Maggie seeing she'd had to leave hers behind for Jacob Jr, she was grateful for that. She placed Maggie, who'd fallen asleep due to the excitement of the day.

Tanya sat down on her bed stare at the cradle that held her daughter. She wondered when Liam would show up, and she knew he would. He had been pestering her since he's found out about Maggie. She now regretted having carried on her relationship with him after marrying Jacob. Maybe if she hadn't he wouldn't a problem now. It wasn't that she didn't care about him, it was just that they both had nothing. He lived in a campsite by the mine and she was living in the saloon, they didn't have the means to live anywhere else.

She just wanted time to figure things out for herself and her daughter before bring anyone else in their lives. Liam maybe be Maggie's real father, but she didn't even know him, not to mention she often asked for Jacob. She was raised believing he was her father and Tanya hadn't had the heart to tell her otherwise. It was then it occurred to her that not only had she hurt Liam and herself but she was hurting her daughter as well. She couldn't fight the tears that had begun to fall.

Later that evening

An older woman Bella had gotten was watching her daughter while Tanya worked her shift at the saloon. Time seemed to pass slower now that the only place to go when the saloon closed was the saloon. She wasn't looking forward to returning to her permanent room. She had been pushing aside those thoughts all night to keep from crying. Liam had yet to turn up tonight and she hoped he wouldn't, she didn't know what she'd say to him if he did. Her luck had run out however as Liam and several other mineworkers walked in and sat at a table in the back.

Kate stopped placing a hand on her shoulder saying, "I got this one."

"I…Thank you," Tanya said gratefully. Kate only smiled in return.

Tanya went to another table and took their orders before returning to the bar. She continued working and things were winding down, she was grateful. she was getting ready to head to her room when she was stopped. She turned to find Liam there.

"Tanya talk to me, you owe me that much." He said. "and I…I want to see her."

"She doesn't know you," Tanya replied glaring.

"So, she's my daughter I have a right to see her," he demanded. "Tanya please…"

She sighed, "fine" she turned leading him to her room. "but know that she doesn't like strangers."

He only nodded and followed her. They reached her room finding the nanny and the baby in the rocking chair. It seemed Maggie was having trouble falling asleep in a new place. She took the baby and paid the woman with the tips she earned. Maggie stopped crying once she was in her mother's arms.

"what's her name?" Liam asked from behind her.

At the sound of his voice, Maggie looked over at him wide-eyed.

"Maggie," Tanya said as she turned walking toward him. He reached for the babe but she wouldn't leave her mother, "I told you she didn't like strangers."

With a sigh, he gave up and dropped his hands. "Why did you keep her from me? Why did you marry him?"

Tanya moved the rocking chair and sat down, "At first I thought she was his, but it turned out she wasn't. It was too late then. Also, you live in a campsite by the mine, how would you be able to take care of us?"

"I can build a cabin. I have the means to do so I just didn't see the point when it was just me. But with you and Maggie I would do it." He defended, "give me a chance, Tanya, to be a father… to be a husband."

She looked him over, thinking through her answer. She still had reservations, but if he was willing to get them out of the saloon and into a home that alone was worth giving him a chance. Still slightly unsure she sighed before saying, "alright, but you have to build this cabin first." She'd rather live in the saloon, with only her daughter as company, than at the mine.

Liam smiled, "done."
