Last time, Team RWBY went to the gym where Weiss hopes to earn her next gym badge. However, she is getting more than what she bargain for as the team realized that Shiro, the gym leader and inn owner, was a Pokemon coordinator. In the first battle, Nicholas, who evolved into a Jolteon, lost to Shiro's Charmeleon.
The crowd cheers for Shiro's first victory. Weiss tries to think about how to deal with the situation she is dealing with.
'Okay.' Weiss tries to think. 'Nicholas is down and I have that Charmeleon to deal with. That Charmeleon is using flamethrower, thunder punch, dragon claw and another move I haven't seen yet. Maybe... I got it!' Weiss throws her next Pokeball, "Go, Kitty!"
Kitty comes out and is ready for battle.
"BEGIN!"
"Charmeleon, charge up and use fire blast!"
Charmeleon moves at fast speeds as it approaches Kitty with a mouth full of fire to unleash a fire blast.
"Use yawn!" Weiss orders. "Fill the field with bubbles!"
Kitty yawns into bubbles that are spread out all over the field. Charmeleon almost got hit by some of the yawn bubbles and has no choice but to use its fire blast to shoot through. Charmeleon looks around to find Kitty, but got hit by a yawn bubble sneak attack as it pops its head. Charmeleon starts to feel sleepy but before passing out, Charmeleon unleashes a fire blast at point blank range right at Kitty which causes the health bar on the screen reach zero. Charmeleon falls asleep while Kitty passes out and returns to her Pokeball.
"Felunge is unable to battle! The winner is Charmeleon!"
Weiss is ready to use her next Pokemon while Shiro recalls his Charmeleon.
Shiro then tosses out his Pokeball, "Go, Wartortle!"
Shiro's Wartortle pops out and is ready to battle.
'Perfect!' Weiss thinks to herself. 'I have two Pokemon that is perfect for him.' Weiss throws her Pokeball, "Go, Sternos!"
Sternos, Weiss' Starmie, pops out and is ready for battle. Starmie's nickname comes from the German word for star, Stern, and I just added o-s at the end just because.
"Hmm?" Shiro went. 'A Starmie? Guess she must've known about Wartortle's ice moves; ice punch and ice beam. I had Wartortle's bite move replaced with a water move last Friday for something more showy.' Shiro smirks, 'Cleaver girl.'
"Begin!"
"Wartortle, use ice beam!"
Wartortle opens its mouth and a ball of light blue light appears that fires multiple beams of light at Sternos.
Weiss orders, "Rapid spin!"
Sternos jumps up into the air and its points spin at a rapid rate. The result is that Sternos is up in the air that the beams hit it that forms blades of ice.
"That's a new one!" Shiro is stunned.
"Now use psybeam!"
"DEFINITELY A NEW ONE!" Shiro freaks out.
The red gem of Sternos starts to glow bright pink. The beam is supposed to hit Wartortle, but the energy stretches throughout the icy blades Sternos formed that result in a brilliant glimmer. Then Sternos charges at Wartortle.
"Use rapid spin to dodge!"
Wartortle ducks into its shell and spins to the left. Sternos miss but the ice explodes with waves of pink energy unleash across the field. It did hit Wartortle which causes its shell to glow pink and give off multi-colored sparkles that scatter all over. Wartortle ricochet off the wall and hits Sternos right in the jewel. As a result, Sternos' health bar on the screen reaches zero and it returns to its Pokeball.
'So close!' Weiss says in her mind. 'I almost got 'em!'
A member of the audience says, "Did you see that? She just took advantage of Wartortle's ice beam by combining it with rapid spin to turn into a giant shuriken and then combine it with psybeam for greater power!"
"I know, right?!" says another member of the audience, who is also impressed.
"That girl is impressive!"
Everyone in the audience give a round of applause for Weiss' efforts and showed an amazing technique.
Shiro wipes the sweat off of the right side of his head with his handkerchief, "That was a close one." He smiles, "Guess that's a Pokemon Coordinator for you. When you think you're ahead, your opponent pulls off something crazy."
After the fight, Wartortle is confused so Shiro recalls his Wartortle.
The gym leader then throws his next Pokeball, "Go, Machoke!"
Shiro's Machoke pops out and is ready for battle as it flex its muscles.
'This one I can do.' Weiss throws her Pokeball, "Go, Monarch!"
Monarch pops out and is ready for battle.
"BEGIN!"
"Monarch, use psybeam!"
Monarch fires a psybeam at Machoke.
"Machoke, use thunder punch!"
Machoke's right fist start to produce static electricity that it later twirls his fist to intercept the psybeam which turns the electricity in its right fist a pinkish coloring. Then Machoke charges right at Monarch.
"Quick, use gust!"
Monarch flaps his wings in a rapid pace to unleash a torrent of wind at Machoke. But Machoke spins its body to mach the direction of the gust to launch itself into the air and then strikes down monarch in one blow. Monarch is then return to his Pokeball.
"Butterfree is unable to battle! The winner is Machoke!"
"What just happened?" Yang tries to process, "I blinked."
"That is one skilled Machoke." Blake says. "Guess that Pokemon is Shiro's veteran of his Coordinator days."
Ruby just nods.
Weiss then chooses her next Pokemon, "Go, Busche!"
A pony-like Pokemon comes out with a green colored main body. It has four black hooves, one at each of its four feet. It has green grass for its mane and tail. The grass has tan seeds growing in it. It has two brown ears with pink in the middle, a pink flower on its rear, and two eyes with pink irises. This is a Spony, but unlike the main Spony that has a normal brown colored main body, this is an Ultima forest variant. Plus, Busche is German for bush or shrub.
Spony. The pony Pokemon. Grass-type. Spony stampeding through a field would not leave a trail of damaged plants. Rather, flowers bloom along their paths.
AN: This Pokemon is from Pokemon Solar Light & Lunar Dark.
"Ah, a Spony Pokemon." Shiro states. "An interesting choice."
"BEGIN!"
"Busche, use leaf darts!"
Busche has her main glowing bright green as it becomes sharpen and pointing at Machoke. Bright green darts are then fired at Machoke.
"Use close combat!" Shiro orders.
Machoke uses the move to deflect the leaf darts and have them go up in the air. However, some of them get deflected right back at Busche and did a critical hit as the screen shows Busche's health now in the orange. Yet despite the bruises, Busche gets back up. Determine to take down Machoke.
"Use leaf tornado with toxic!"
A tornado of leaves circles form around Machoke then fires a purplish sludge at the tornado. Machoke tries to endure it but the poison edged leaves is making it harder since now it is now suffering from a poison status effect. But Machoke's Guts ability kicks in as its body gives off a red aura.
"Use vital throw!"
Machoke's left arm glows yellow as the tornado starts to be absorbed into the combo tornado before smacking Busche with it that sends her flying to the wall and left quite the impact before returning to her Pokeball.
"Spony is defeated! The winner is; Machoke!"
The crowd cheers for Machoke's combo move despite being poisoned. But is returned to its Pokeball before succumbing to poison.
"This is bad!" Ruby worries about Weiss. "She's gonna lose if her last Pokemon fails!"
"No joke." Yang says. "Shiro is no pushover, that's for sure. He's kicking Weiss' Pokemon left and right." But Yang turns her attention towards Ruby, "But are you keeping track on how Shiro's Pokemon move and formulating strategies?"
Ruby holds up her Megadex, "I am, actually. Plus it might be beneficial for Weiss as well for a rematch."
Blake is holding onto her Megadex and recording, "And I'm also recording in case Ruby forgot."
"HEY!" Ruby feels a little insulted.
Shiro then tosses his Pokeball, "Go, Ivysaur!"
Ivysaur comes out and is ready for battle.
'Hope this works.' Weiss then tosses her next Pokeball, "Go, Ronald!"
Ronald, Weiss' Stickut, is ready for combat.
"Alright!" Ruby cheers, "Weiss has a type advantage!"
"Not quite." Blake says.
"Huh?"
"He might try a surprise or two. Ivysaur doesn't have a very large move set, but its poison attacks are very deadly. Not to mention that Ronald is part grass-type and grass-types are weak against poison-types."
"Uh-oh."
"BEGIN!"
"Use poison powder!" Shiro orders.
Ivysaur starts scattering poison powder on the field.
"Use needle arm!"
Ronald's left arm starts to glow green and starts swirling it around to gather the poison powder that makes his arm glow purple. Then charges at Ivysaur.
"Bullet seed with sleeping powder!"
Ivysaur spews out some sleeping powder from its bulb before shooting glowing green seeds right at Ronald. But Ronald uses his needle arm to swat the bullets out of the way. However, some of the sleeping powder bounce off from the bullets and got into Ronald's face. Ronald is feeling very drowsy and passes out before delivering the blow.
"Now use vine whip!"
Ivysaur uses vine whip to grab Ronald and toss him up and then swat him down. But Ronald's health only decrease by a small amount. Since Ronald is part bug-type and part grass-type, Ivysaur's vine whip doesn't do much damage.
"Now use poison powder!"
Ivysaur spreads poison powder all over Ronald's sleeping body and does a poison effect on top of sleep. All Weiss can do is watch.
But she screams, "RONALD! WAKE UP!"
Ronald immediately sprang back up and is wide awake.
Shiro is shocked to see this, "That lasted shorter than it should!"
"Good, now use struggle bug!"
Ronald's body produces a red aura. Then unleashes a flurry of red energy attacks right at Ivysaur. But Ronald's attack power is greater than before that is because of the ability, rivalry. Both Pokemon are of the same gender; male. That, and the attack is super effective to the point where Ivysaur's health bar is at orange.
"Quick Ivysaur, use vine whip!"
Ivysaur gets up and uses vine whip to launch himself towards Ronald to see if he can deliver a final blow.
"Use needle arm!"
Ronald's arm starts glowing green again and charges at Ivysaur. Both Pokemon charge at each other as each of them unleash a flurry of attacks at each other in quick succession with both sides losing health fast. Ronald may have the advantage by type, attack raised by ability and some quick movements. Ivysaur is slightly faster and the poison he inflicted is effective, but slow. Not to mention his vine whip is keeping Ronald at bay. Everyone watches the blinding fast speeds of the two Pokemon as they anticipate who will come out victorious. The two stand at the ends of the arena before charging at each other and try to kick each other's butts one last time. The two landed on opposite sides as they stand still and the audience watch in silence. Ten seconds past by but it felt like an eternity as Ivysaur falls to the ground and returns to his Pokeball.
"Ivysaur lost the match! The winner is; Stickut!"
The crowd cheers for Weiss first victory. However, it is short lived. Ronald passes out due to the poison status effect and returns to his Pokeball.
"Stickut is unable to continue. As Weiss' last Pokemon, the winner is Gym Leader Shiro!"
The crowd applaud for Shiro's victory.
"Looks like Weiss needs some training." Ruby states to the other two members of the team.
Blake is holding her Megadex, "And I know just the place to do so."
Shiro approaches Weiss and extends his hand, "That was a good match. I have to admit, you surprised me more than once in our fight. You got talent, Weiss. And I hope to see you again."
Weiss did lost, but smiles at the experience and how she fought. She shakes Shiro's hand, "Thank you, and hope to challenge you again."
Some time later, the four are at the Pokemon Center's lobby and waiting for Weiss' Pokemon to heal.
"That was a tough match." Yang compliments Weiss.
"You tell me. To be honest, I didn't read about Shiro being a Pokemon Coordinator master. Looks like I have to train hard to win that badge."
Blake is holding her Megadex, "Good news is that there is a facility called the Battle Club not too far from here. And remember the pictures of the Don Georges?"
Ruby remembers, "Oh yeah. They all look like they're clones just like the Officer Jennys and Nurse Joys."
Blake continues reading as she speaks, "The Battle Club has the state of the art equipment for training and exercising Pokemon and well as their trainers. Might be worth a shot."
Yang shouts, "Training montage!"
There was a moment of silence as the team look at Yang before Ruby snorts a little.
AN: Hey everyone! I hope you enjoy the new chapter.
