Alice:

I have seen this situation happen several different ways. I knew Bella and Edward would come together in this town. It's the reason I brought them both here. They needed to learn the truth.

Rose and I have been trying to piece together what could have happened with the little information we had. Talking to others helped fill in some gaps. Also, Rose being able to listen in on people's conversations and astral projection came in handy.

What we know is that Edward's family and Bella's family were close. We know that Edward proposed to Bella. We know that Edward is an Ancient One because he was created the same way as the Swans. We know that Edward doesn't have any memories involving Bella except for the night they became a vampire. We know Edward is a talented vampire and we know he is after Bella and I.

What we don't know is how or why Edward's memories were taken from him. We also don't know why he is after Bella and I.

"What do you mean, my memories were taken from me?" Asked Edward.

Rose smiled. "Surely you can read my thoughts. You can see what I am talking about."

Edward shook his head. "I can not read your thoughts. Actually, I can't read any of your thoughts. It's completely silent."

We all looked at Bella.

Jasper laughed. "You are the reason he can't hear us." He said while pointing at Bella.

"Me?" She asked. "What did I do?"

"It's your shield." Emmett said.

"Oh shit. Right. Sorry." Bella laughed. "It's up all the time. I have to remember to take it down."

Bella must have dropped it because Edward gasped and yelled, "EMMETT! STOP!"

Emmett laughed. "Just seeing if it worked."

Edward shook his head as if to clear the thoughts from himself. "Yes it worked and no, you guys don't want to know."

"It's Emmett. Of course we don't want to know." Jasper laughed.

"Right. So back to what you were saying." I said to Rose.

She nodded her head. "I think someone had your memories of Bella erased from your mind while you were still human. I think they left that one memory because they wanted you to think she was dead so that you wouldn't go looking for her once you became a vampire."

"What witch was strong enough to do that?" Bella asked.

"Our mother and Edward's mother." Jasper answered.

"But which one was it?" Asked Emmett.

"That is a very good question with only one way to find out." I answered. "Rose?"

Rose looked at me and nodded.

"Right. So we need some water and a few towels. Bella, take a few couch pillows and lay them on the floor."

I grabbed a pitcher of cold water and a cup. I placed them on an end table closest to the pillows. Emmett grabbed a few pillows. He handed them to Rose.

"Okay Edward. This is what will happen. I want you to kneel on the pillows. I want you to brace yourself. This might hurt a little." Rose told Edward.

Edward followed Rose's command. "What will you be doing?" He asked.

"I plan to penetrate your mind. I would like to strip the spell from you." Rose answered. "I should have asked you first, but would you like me to strip the spell?"

Edward nodded. "Do it. I want to remember everything."

Bella:

I watched helplessly while Rose penetrated Edward's mind. It must be very painful because he hasn't stopped screaming. He was sweaty which is what the towels were for. He also had blood dripping from his nose occasionally. Rose gave him a few seconds of breaks. That was for a drink of water and to clean himself up.

I could see in his eyes that his memories were slowly coming back to him. Whoever casted the spell on him was powerful, no doubt about it. The only two powerful witches in our village at the time that the spell was casted on Edward were my mother and Edward's mother Elizabeth.

I left the room and headed to the porch. I needed a moment. I knew Jasper would follow me. He could feel my emotions after all.

"Sister. Why are you feeling so many emotions at once?" He asked me.

I turned to Jasper. "He's going to know. Once his memory comes back, he's going to know what I did to him. How could he forgive me?"

Jasper wrapped his arms around me. I buried my face into his shoulder and cried.

Jasper held me while I cried.

"Bells, he will forgive you. He had already forgiven you when it happened. He will do it again."

"You can't know that." I whispered.

Jasper chuckled. "Actually, I can. You forget that I'm an empath. I can tell when a memory is unlocked. I can feel whether he is angry or sad or happy. I can also feel love coming from him." He hugged me tighter. "He may not speak right away but I guarantee he will talk to you once he has everything sorted out in his mind."

I sighed. "I hope you are right."

"I know I am." He laughed. "Let's get back in there."

Three hours later. That is how long it took for Rose to lift the spell. Edward was a pile of mush laying on the ground. The pillows were long forgotten. Several glasses of water and bloody towels later and Edward was back. He said he remembered everything.

I whispered that I was sorry before I fled the house. I needed to feed. I ran down the steps, across the yard, into the woods surrounding the house. I didn't bother to undress before the shift started.

I landed on all fours and took off further into the woods. I just ran. I had no place in peculiar.

I hunted a buck and I was slowly devouring it when I realized I was no longer alone.

I looked up from my kill into a wolf's face. A set of blue eyes with black fur.

Charlie.

I bowed my head in surrender to the alpha. I stood from my spot at the buck's neck and moved to the back leg of the buck. Alpha gets the neck.

We ate in silence until we were full. This is something that Charlie and I haven't done in a really long time. I actually missed it.

Once we were done, Charlie left me alone while he shifted back. He returned carrying a bag.

"This is for you. Sue sent it. She thought you could use a change of clothes." He said.

I took the bag in my mouth and ran off into the woods. Once I shifted back into a human, I looked through the bag. Everything was new and my style. I knew I liked Sue for a reason.

I joined Charlie once I was dressed. I sat the bag down on the ground and pulled the brush out.

I started brushing my hair which was a total fucking mess. "I know. I'm a mess." I laughed.

Charlie laughed. "I've seen worse."

"I'm sure." I sighed. "So, how did you know I was out here?"

"Alice." He answered. "She called right after you fled into the woods. She told me exactly where I would find you. She also said you would have dinner waiting for me." He laughed. "I didn't think quite literally."

I shrugged. "I hadn't planned to eat. The big guy made the mistake of crossing my path."

We were quiet for a few. That's one thing that I always loved about Charlie. You could just be and he wouldn't bother you or hover. He waited till you were ready to talk which surprisingly, I was.

"Rose figured out that Edward had a spell cast on him when he was human and it erased his memories. Rose took care of the spell so he remembers everything." I blurted out. "He remembers what I did to him."

Charlie wrapped his arms around me. "He forgave you once before. I'm sure he will again. It was an accident. Neither of you believe what Aro said. I mean, how could you?"

"I hurt him badly though."

Charlie was about to respond when another person spoke my name. I sucked in a breath.

"Isabella. Can we talk?"

It was Edward.
