Bella:
As soon as I saw Edward take on a defensive stance and heard a low growl, I reacted. My fangs slid down as fast as I moved. I went after whoever was closest to me, which happened to be a male named James. My teeth sank into his flesh as a knife would into butter. The taste of his blood was bitter. No doubt a reflection on him. I heard the guy spew some words then a growl came from Edward. I was pulled from James, taking a good chunk of his arm with me.
I spit his blood from my mouth. No way was I swallowing that shit.
Edward pulled me to him as I used my sleeve to wipe some of the blood from my face. My fangs were still down. I could feel a growl building up as I felt tremors move throughout my body. My body was waiting for me to give the command to shift. I think Edward knew that which is why he placed his arm around my waist.
"You fucking bitch. You took a chunk of my arm." James yelled as he used his other hand to cover his wound.
"Watch your mouth, James." Edward growled.
The woman with James tried to wrap a shirt around his wound. Her head jerked to Edward. "Did you forget the assignment?" She asked Edward.
I felt him stiffen, his arm tightening around my waist as if to keep me held to him. "I have not forgotten, however, things have changed. I request that you leave here at once. I will call Aro myself and explain."
"What?" I yelled.
James and Victoria laughed. "You didn't know, did you?"
"Know what Edward?" I asked.
He looked down at me. "I promise to tell you everything once we are back at the house. Can you trust me?"
"I don't know." I whispered.
Before anyone had a chance to say anything else, we all smelled something in the air. I smiled while the others began to get into defensive stances. I walked away from Edward to where the alpha would be.
Several wolves appeared from the trees and bushes. I bowed my head in submission to my dad as he approached us. My dad's fur was jet black with his crystal blue eyes shining proudly. I knew my eyes matched his. His head was almost to my shoulder. That's how big these wolves are. I am big but not that big.
"Alice?" I whispered to him. He nodded his head.
"Well what do we have here?" James said. "Looks like Isabella is having a family reunion." He laughed. Victoria joined him.
"That's the best you could come up with? How lame." I laughed. "What do you want?"
"We were ordered to track the hybrid and the psychic girl and bring them to Aro. Isn't that right Edward?" Victoria sneered to Edward.
That's what he was doing here? Aro ordered him to come for me? How could he? Well, wait, he didn't remember who I was all these years. I bet Aro wasn't playing on him getting his memories back any time soon.
"I was under the orders of Aro to bring you to him, but Bella, that was before I remembered everything." Edward said to me. "I have no intention of taking you to him."
There was a light breeze, then Rosalie, Alice, Jasper, and Emmett appeared.
"YOU!" Victoria yelled before she charged at Rose.
Emmett moved into action before Victoria had a chance to get to Rose. He had his hand around her throat. "Not another move."
Jasper had his hand wrapped around James's throat while examining his arm. "Bells, did you do this?" He smiled at me.
"I did. That's what he gets for trying to sneak up on a hybrid." I smiled at my brother. "He tastes bitter so whatever you do, don't bite him."
"Aconitum." Edward said. "They drank aconitum in case a werewolf bit them."
"What the hell is that?" Emmett asked.
"Wolfsbane." Edward, Rosalie, and I said together.
"It's poisonous to werewolves. Small amounts will weaken us. Large amounts can kill us." I said, "That explains why his blood tasted bitter."
"You are all dead. Aro will send more people."James grunted, bringing his injured arm to his chest.
"Bigger people than him have tried and failed. I haven't been alive for 800 years without someone trying to kill me. How's your arm doing there James?" I laughed as he tried to pull his arm even closer. "My wolf bite venom seems to be spreading faster than usual. I give you 24 hours, maybe 36 hours before the bite kills you."
Victoria growled, "You won't get away with this?" Aro will stop at nothing to kill you."
I laughed. Like full on belly laughed. I threw my hands out from my sides and swirled in a circle, then yelled, "I'M THE HYBRID. THE ONLY HYBRID. I CAN NOT BE KILLED. What part don't people seem to understand?"
"Aro has a plan to make you not a hybrid anymore. Then he can kill you and your brothers." James said. "He sent me to find you because I am the best tracker out there." He struggled against Jasper's hold. "He will send more if I do not return with you."
"Let him." I growled. "We can send you back to him as a message."
Victoria decided to make a move to Rose again. How she got out of Emmett's grip, I will never know. What I know is that she never made it five steps before my dad got a hold of her. His teeth attached to her leg, ripping it completely off. Her screams filled the air.
Another vampire joined the party. He must have heard the girl's screams. We all were on the move then. Jasper and James were fighting. Edward and the new vampire were rounding on each other. This vampire was darker in skin tone with dreads. Edward had an advantage, he could hear the thoughts of those around him so he knew where to move to avoid hitting another.
"Fuck this." I said to myself.
I stormed over to Jasper and James and shot my arm out. My hand went into James' chest in one shot. I wrapped my hand around his heart. "Do you feel that James? That's your life literally in the palm of my hand." I said, as I withdrew my hand. His heart goes along with it.
His body fell to the ground. I threw his heart on top of his body. "This is what happens when you fuck with me and my family."
My dad walked over to me and butted me with his head. I took the hint. I walked to the trees and stripped my clothes from my body. I let the tremors run through my body. I stretched once my wolf form took over. I slowly walked back to the others. I joined my dad, who butted his head against mine.
"Go Bella. We will take care of these two." Emmett said.
With one last look at my brothers, Rose, Alice, and Edward, I followed the pack into the woods. I needed a good run and hunt.
I trusted my brothers to kill those two vampires, but they would get the information they needed from them first. Emmett doesn't like to make a mess when getting information, however, Jasper will use any means necessary to get what he wants from someone. Now that Rosalie and Alice are with them, things are going to be pretty interesting with the questioning. Plus the fact that Edward can read their minds to know whether they are telling the truth or not. I almost wish I would be there for it. Almost but I rather run with the other half of my family.
I've always loved running with my brothers but this, this feeling of freedom running with my dad and some of the pack was amazing. Not only were we running but we were basically playing tag with each other. It felt amazing.
Now I've been told that as pack people, they can hear each other's thoughts but only in wolf form. I, however, can not hear anyone's thoughts. This is because I haven't joined the pack officially. Once I do, I should be able to hear their thoughts as we run and play. Not sure I'm looking forward to that. Not sure I am ready for others to hear what I'm thinking. My thoughts aren't always pure.
