Emmett:

"Let's take these two to the basement." Jasper said. His grip on the new guy tightened.

Rosalie ran up on the female. She whispered something and the female dropped to the ground. "I've got her."

We gathered around Rosalie, making sure to touch each other. She whispered again, and we teleported to the basement of the Victorian house.

I bent over at the waist, hands on my knees. "I will never get used to traveling that way."

Rosalie laughed at me. "Sure you will. It took Alice a while to get used to it."

Once I was standing straight again, I looked around the basement. Jasper surely had work done to it when he had the rest of the house work done. I could see the stairs leading upstairs. There was also a door leading outside. It looked like a normal basement would, except for the hiding door that Jasper was now opening.

"Jas man, what do you have hidden back there?" I asked.

He smiled at me as he walked through the opening.

To say I wasn't shocked would be an understatement. I am not shocked at anything Jasper does anymore. He can be sadist when he wants to be so to see that he had prison cells in this secret room didn't shock me at all.

"You can put the man in that cell. I think we will talk to the woman first." Jasper said.

I put the guy in the cell as Jasper said as Alice and Rosalie tied the woman to a chair.

"Okay. So this is what I want to do. Edward, you stand over in that corner behind her. Alice dear, hop up on that table right there. All I need you to do is listen and watch. Rosalie, you can stand anywhere you need to and Emmett?"

"Yes?" I replied.

"Stay exactly where you are." He said. "We are going to question her. Edward, you let us know if she's lying. Alice, you let us know if you see any outcome of truth. Rosalie, I'm assuming that you two know each other? Judging by the way she came at you."

"Oh we know each other alright. I'm sure you will find out soon." She replied with a smile.

"Fair enough. Go ahead and wake her."

Rosalie stood in front of the woman, closed her eyes, and began to whisper. The woman woke with a start and growled.

"Oh. Scary." I laughed as did the others.

"You will get nothing from me." She screeched.

Alice spoke up. "She's right. She's been taking vervain. You will need to bleed it out of her in order to allure her."

"That can be arranged." Rosalie said.

She waved her hand through the air and the red head screamed as blood poured from her arm to the ground. Again and again Rosalie waved her arm. The woman had dozens of cuts. "When you can't smell the vervain in her system anymore, give her a little bit of blood. She will be ready to be allured."

"Damn Rosie. Remind me to never piss you off." I said as I wrapped my arm around her shoulders.

"Ed?" Jasper asked.

Edward tilted his head to the side. "She is beyond pissed which I'm sure you can feel. She wants revenge for James. Other than that, her thoughts are all over the place. I'm only picking up bits and pieces."

"You will need to drain the guy of vervain as well." Alice said as her eyes turned white.

Rose wasted no time on the guy while we waited for Alice to finish her vision. Edward growled and Jasper moved closer to Alice, almost in a protective manner.

"What is she seeing?" I asked.

"Bella is being tracked again." Alice whispered as Edward growled again.

"By wh?" I was cut off by Edward.

"Demetri." He answered. "He has Jane and Alec with him." He sighed. " Fuck."

"How long until they get here?" Asked Rose.

"Two days time." Answered Alice.

I growled. "How can they be tracking her with her shield?"

Jasper answered with a guess. "Maybe Bella's shield can't block Demetri's tracking like she can other things. Her shield is basically a mental block, which is why Aro and Edward can't read her mind. However, Alice can see her future and I can manipulate her emotions so we know it's not a physical shield. Yet."

"What do you mean yet?" Asked Rose.

Jasper leaned against a table and crossed his arms. "I mean, it has taken Bella decades to learn to control her shield. In the beginning, it was only her she could shield. Now she can shield us all at one time without her even realizing it."

"That's like Kate." I said, "After she awoke to her new life, she accidentally shocked me with her hand but over time, she learned to control it throughout her body."

"You changed Kate?" Asked Edward, tilting his head as he read the memory going through my mind.

I nodded. "I changed Kate and Tanya. Kate changed Irina." I sighed. "I wasn't going to but Kate begged me from her deathbed. They were both dying and nothing my mother tried wasn't helping."

Edward nodded his head. "I can understand that. There are a few of Aro's guards that I've changed. That's about it."

"Alright. It will be a while before we can question these two." Jasper said. "Who's hungry?"

We all just stared at him.

Bella:

Freedom.

That is what it felt like to run with my dad and his pack.

I didn't realize as we were running that I was directly behind him to his right. That is where his beta, otherwise known as his second in charge, would run. The beta was actually behind me. Show of respect? Maybe.

We hunted. We played tag. We swam in the river.

I've never known that being in a pack could feel like this. Maybe I should have joined a pack or created my own pack a long time ago. What am I thinking? All that responsibility? Who the hell wants that? Oh right, my dad.

We took our time going back to my dad's house. I noticed my dad and a few other wolves go into a barn behind their house. After a few minutes they came out in human form. A few more wolves went in and the same happened.

Leah walked over to me. "I put some clothes in the last stall on the right for you. I wasn't sure if you were coming back with us or not but I figured you would need clothes if you did."

I nodded my head at her. I then rubbed my head against her leg in thanks.

She laughed. "You're welcome. I always wanted a sister. Don't get me wrong, I love Seth but it would be nice to have girl talk." She laughed again as she rubbed my head between my ears.

As I shifted and got dressed, I felt a chill in the air. I walked out of the barn to find that my dad and Sue were starting a bbq. It seems the whole pack was here. There were definitely more people here than in the woods. As I got closer, I could see why. There were kids running around and pregnant women.

Since the curse didn't start until one turned eighteen, the kids didn't shift and when a woman is pregnant, she can not shift either.

"Bells." My dad yelled to me. "Come here a second."

Why did he yell? I don't know. Everyone here had heightened senses.

I walked over to him. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Bells this is Sam and Jacob Black. They are my betas. Guys this is my daughter Bella."

I held out my hand to shake theirs. Jacob shook mine. "Nice to meet you." I said.

"I could say the same to you Bella." Jacob said with a smile.

I held my hand out to Sam who looked at it with disdain on his face. I looked from him to my dad.

"Really sir." Sam addressed my dad.

My dad sighed, "Sam, now is not the time for this."

"She's a hybrid. She doesn't belong here with us." Sam argued.

"We have had this talk Sam. The alpha has spoken and we need to follow orders. What part of that is hard for you to understand?" Jacob hissed to Sam.

"Why don't we take this inside?" Asked my dad.

We followed my dad into his office for what I'm sure would be an eventful conversation.

What we didn't know at the time was that a coven of witches were being threatened to perform a spell that would affect the pack.

I am not sure when I will update next. My household is battling COVID right now. Thankfully we all have gotten our shots, so it's not nearly as bad as it would have been had we not gotten them.
