"Alvie…. Your gonna have to tell them sooner or later and this is something you can't keep on hiding from everyone anymore. I still can't believe you've been able to hide it this long from us…especially your family. But still your gonna have to tell the rest of us of how you been really feeling."
"But why and whats the difference. You've been covering and helping me for the last three weeks anyways. Especially when I kept on losing all those bets with you."
"Well yeah and that was nearly three to four weeks ago. Then you kept on making other bets and… Wait! Did you really lose all those bets with me on purpose."
"Well…um…maybe you were a little better than me." Alvin said trying to look innocent.
Aug! "I new it. You purposely lost didn't you. First it was with…never mind that. And I should've never barged in your bedroom like I did that one morning and now I'm…sorry I did."
"This is exactly why I didn't want no one to know of how I've been feeling for the longest time Brittant. Even when I was real little, I never really felt right in my own body. And nothing really good will come out when everyone finds out I am extra special, special. I should know because my plans really don't work. They mostly fall apart on me."
"They do to work… well mostly work when they need to work."
"They do not and your not helping Brittany."
"Look I'm sorry ok... I should've realized you were that kind of special different along time ago and do you realize how many books I had to read just help me understand what kind of extra special, special you were. And… Oh come here I don't want you to get all sappy and upset with me. I still love you even if you are special. I still will date you and all the junkie other stuff that comes with the package. You're my munk-ette and no one can ever replace you because you're special to me.
"You…really mean all of that and you're still willing to date me? Even if I'm a girl and dresses as a girl for your date?"
"Of course I do Alvin…I mean Alvie. But you have to be happy with yourself and this is what you like to be. Maybe not with what you're wearing right now and definitely not with that color. But it's the closest thing you can get right now. Am I right?"
"…" Silently Alvin just nods yes. Pink wasn't his color, but if he could be put in a dress. He would take whatever he could get for the moment.
"…" Brittany just stood there silently while thinking before getting an idea with a smile on how she could help. "Well we are the same size and I guess I could go shopping for you on your behalf. And get you something you would like better thats more you. But you have to do something for me in return if I do that for you."
He then gave her that look like saying… 'You'd really do that.' Before saying something back in return. "Than what do you want me to do?"
"You have to talk to Dave about how you feel and thats all I'm asking you to do. And once you do that, then I will help you. I'll even do live stream video feed to your phone while I go shopping. I know you're nervous and I can feel it coming off of you. But you have to… All I'm saying is theres going to be some adjustments to be made because I'm still adjusting myself. And this whole family is going to have to adjust around you until you're more comfortable."
"…"
"Alvie…I promise its going to be ok. I will help you, but only if you talk to Dave first and you have to tell him how you really feel… And No "ifs," "ands," "could I" or "butts" about it. Okie!"
"You promise it's going to be OK."
"I do, now get going already and I'll be waiting in your bedroom until you're done with Dave."
"Ok." Said Alvin as he started walking to talk with Dave in his bedroom. But he felt like the walk was ten miles long walking to prison. No wait, it was worse prison. Worse than the principals office, worse than going to school. He felt like he was walking in hell itself and he was going to talk with the devil, the great under lord downstairs with his red cape.
"Hi D…D-Dave. I um… I need to um… How are you feeling this morning."
"Alvin… What are you up to and what did you do this time. And I'm not going to ask you why you're still wearing Brittany's pink dress. I bet it's properly because you lost another bet with her and I'm going to have a very long, long talk with Brittany alone this morning about her so called bets. So off you go and get dresses properly and I do mean properly dressed. Because as for I'm concern, your bet is over."
"But I need…"
"Alvin…just get dresses for the day. I don't want to ground you and your acting weird. Weirder than normal and you have been acting weird for the longest time. Now get going already ok."
"Ok thats it. Enough is enough." Said Brittany marching out of Alvin bedroom going to see Dave after realizing Alvin was having a lotta trouble trying to open up to Dave.
Brittany continued. "Dave… Alvie has something very important to tell you. Something thats gonna require some changes in the house hold for everyone. So just be patient and hear Alvie out. Because what Alvie has to say is extremely important for you to understand. But don't worry, its nothing bad. And Alvie… Just take it slow and explain how you feel. If you cant do that, then just show him. And Dave…I will be waiting on the couch for that long long talk about my so called bets with Alvie." Said Brittany as she turned around to go to the living room to wait.
"Dave I… I cant be… I'm… I need…"
And the harder Alvin tried, the more Alvin got worked up and almost into tears and that made Dave start to worry. So much that he picked up his son to try and comfort him.
"Hey here take it easy will yeah. What has gotten you so worked up like this and whats the need for you to have a little more privacy around your brothers. Why the need to be called Alvie all the time now. I can't help you if you don't tell me and if you're having trouble saying it. Then just show me like Brittany said."
"It's this." Alvin said looking down as he smoothed his dress out showing Dave what he was trying to say this whole time. "This is what I need to be on the outside…(sniff…sniff.) I'm sorry…(sniff…sniff)… Im sorry I can't be what everyone sees me as anymore…(sniff…sniff)… I just can't be a boy anymore. I need to be a girl." Alvin spoke looking at the ground.
By now alarms and sirens were going off in Dave's mind like some emergency at the hospital. He had no idea just how hard it was for Alvin to open up and tell Dave of how he truly have been feeling for the longest time. Not to mention in Dave's mind was telling and screaming 'NO! This cant be! Alvin can't be a girl. Alvin was and is a boy and has to be a boy no mater what.' But nevertheless, it was a shock, a huge shock to Dave's.
Meanwhile in the living room, Brittany was and has been pacing the living room rug crazy and worrying at the same time. So much that she kinda felt like someone was in labor at the hospital and she was going to be a mother, aunt, grandmother, and a god mother as the same time. So she was nervous as well.
"I'm sorry Dave…(sniff…sniff)…it's my fault I was born extra special special." Said Alvin feeling very ashamed of himself for wanting to be a girl more than ever.
"Oh my gosh Alvin I'm sorry… Its not…I mean…. This is big and… Can we please talk about this thing tomorrow morning when I'm more prepared. I promise we will have that talk together no matter what. It will just be you and me in the morning with no one around. Even before your brothers and the two girls come back home." Said Dave as he gave his son a pinky promise and Alvin knew Dave meant it.
"You really mean it and it will just be the two of us no matter what?"
"I do Alvin… I mean Alvie. I'll even ask Mr Talbot if he can get your brothers and the two girls tomorrow and bring them home the long way home. But rest assure Alvie…it will be the two of us no matter what. But in the mean time…can you please get dresses properly and try not to get so worked up. Go do what ever you would like and have fun for the rest of the day. While you're having fun…try not to think about our talk tomorrow morning. Because I need to go the the library and do some serious heavy research so we can have that talk. I need to be armed and prepared for tomorrow."
Dave continue. "I promise it's going to be ok and we will get thought this together. And if I need to make adjustments, we all will make adjustments for you as a family. So don't feel like this was your fault ok. Because it's not your fault with you being born as a extra special chipmunk." Dave said as he gave Alvin a hug
"Ok Dave."
When Dave said that, Alvin truly felt better. He felt like he could go into more details tomorrow morning with Dave. Tell him just how long he felt this way and why he felt so differently from his brothers. Alvin knew the first time was going to be the hardest to talk about and now the door was opened…it was going to be easier. He knew things were going to more smoother during the next talk with Dave.
And so Alvin got dresses properly just like he was asked to do so in his regular clothes. He was ok with the decision, but preferred to wear a dress. Then he grabbed Brittany to do some window shopping. He still needed to know what kinda of dresses he would like to wear for now on. And yet…how to hid his true identity from everyone. So he had to think this through.
While shopping with Brittany, he spotted a nice yellow dress to try on. Rather the dress called out to him and the dress said this was him all over. He even put on a small smile while wearing it the store's dressing room and that surprised Brittany. Brittany expected it to be red instead of yellow but she did admit the dress really suited him very well.
He was happy just getting one dress for the moment, something he could wear just on the weekends or after school at home. And he had to admit to himself this felt so right to his body while wearing a dress. And after a long, long time of self denial. He final feels free to say it to himself. That he always been a girl stuck in a boys body. But he wasn't ready to share his revelation with others yet.
And in a way he felt free with his secret and secrets can eat you up inside make you unhappy with oneself. A fact that Alvin knew all too well for a long time. He lived with one himself. No one ever thought that he had a secret like this with his personality. He's transgender, a boy caught between two worlds of boys and girls. Not really feel like he was fitting in as a boy like his brothers, or feel like he was fitting in with the girls.
Even both of his brothers never knew this kind of a secret desire. Or his three adopted sisters didn't know either, or yet. But maybe, just maybe one of his brothers might have always suspected that he always had a special brother the whole time while growing up with him.
And so his desire kept on growing and growing until he didn't want to be a boy anymore, but wanting to be a girl now more than ever. He really loved the thought of being able to get pedicures at 'Nails Я us' with his adoptive sisters. Being able to wear bows on his tail and hair all the time. Doing cheerleading with Eleanor. Maybe getting his ears pierced with earrings if he is allowed to. And other things that girls like to do.
And he always had a natural pretty look to him with a nice figure. He has natural 'wild' curly dirty auburn hair going down to his rump like his mom. Big Dumbo size ears like his mom. A long bushy tail like his mother. Alvin even has cute freckles on his face like his mother. And Alvin knew he got the most from his mom. And it never really seem to bothered him when others thought he was a she from a far distance. But it did annoy his brothers from time to time when they had to correct others by saying 'thats our brother over there. As in he is a he and not a she.'
And Alvin knew he'd have to tell the rest of his family at some point of how he had been feeling all this time and every thing changed on a fateful day when Brittany barged in his room trying to be really snoopy for some reason. It was good and bad at the same time and in a way Alvin was relieved and very upset because it did happen. And soon bribes, bets came and went and Brittany, she eventually figure it out just how special, special Alvin was.
And so she eventually agreed to keep on helping her friend…how ever she could her friend. With out asking anything in return for her services. After all, Brittany grew to love him very much. So much it no longer bothered her if her friend wanted to be a girl on the outside. She would love him as a her or as a him. She would love him the way he is and that was the only thing that was important to her.
And so while shopping at the store, Brittany explained to the store clerk that Alvin lost another bet and he had to try on whatever she said. So you might say she was his cover up and Brittany didn't mind covering for him and buying it for him as well. But before leaving the store, Brittany told the manager that she would be back later to pick up her yellow dress because she still wanted to do some more shopping.
And Alvin still wanted something different to complete his new look as a she and to make sure no one could recognize him as himself. But as a new kid that no one has ever seen before.
After all, he's known as a rock star and one of lead singers of a famous band called… 'Alvin & the chipmunks with chipettes.'
But because of being known as that… He wasn't ready to let the whole world know how he always felt differently from others. He didn't feel like he belonged in any one group for say and he wasn't ready to face the public as something of a transgender. A boy wanting to be a girl most of the time and he had never felt right in his own body for the longest time.
He still loved the Rockstar world and singing on stage with his family and friends. He more or less wanted a break from the rock star mentality world, all the stuff that he loves. But it does come with a price as well being known as a rockstar. Because everybody in their brother wants to get an autograph from you. Especially if you're trying to get a family vacation with your family, and not wanting to be bothered by the public or the paparazzi when they come running up to you.
But with a new look as a she, he could do anything and nobody would bat an eye at him as a her. He would be free and truly get to mingle in the crowd with no pure pressure. There would be no pre-judgment from others with no care in the world. All they would see a free spirited chipette that wants to have fun.
Alvin knew he'd have to tell the rest of his his family sooner or later. But he felt better knowing he had Brittany on his side and Dave seem to want to be on his side as well. But being told out of the blue did come with a huge shocker. Which is why Dave wanted to do some heavy research first before both of them have a long talk together.
So after shopping, Alvin and Brittany decided to get something to eat as a snack in the mall.
"Well Alvie," said Brittany with little smile. "I would have never thought yellow would have look so darn good on you, but it does." Said Brittany as she ate some of her strawberry cream yogurt out of her bowl with a spoon. And some how some of the strawberry cream got on Alvin's fur and that gave him an idea along with other ideas in mind as well.
"Oh geez Alvie. Im so sorry I didn't mean to spill my yogurt on your arm like that and why are you so darn happy about it. Because I'd be mad if it happen to me."
"I'm happy because you gave me an idea I've been looking for and I know it was an accident. So no worries ok. So wanna play some video games with me after we finish eating, I'll be my treat." Alvin said reassuring his friend that it was OK.
"Well… Ok." Said Brittany with a smile. All she knew her friend was happy for some reason and and she didn't know why yet. But she was happy to see her friend happy and thats what she liked seeing again. A happy go lucky chipmunk with no worries.
And so a few hours of playing games, Brittany decided to ask Alvin a question.
"Hey Alvie… can I ask you a question?"
"Wasn't that a question?" Said Alvin with a half a smirk."
"Har har very funny Alvin. At least your getting your cocky sense of humor back."
"I'm sorry. Now go head and ask me your question. I promise to be good this time. Boys scouts honor you know." Said Alvin holding up his three finger like a real boy scout.
"Ok I believe you this time. Now why were you happy about my yogurt getting on your arm for?"
"Oh that," said Alvin dropping his ears some. "It's…you see… I'm not really ready for all the peer pressure that comes with public of me becoming a girl on the outside for others to see. And others still would recognize me as me as a girl. But If I dye my hair with my fur to a different color. Then I can be a girl on the outside with not much worry. Because everyone would see just a chipette with nice fur."
Alvin continued. "You see, our society doesn't really accept boys wanting to be girls and they make a big deal out of it. But if a girl wants to be a boy…it's more understanding for society. So thats why I… I don't want to be ridiculed and labeled for being extra special. I rather be happy the way I need to be happy and I'd be happier if no one didn't recognize me at all. So thats why I want to be a little different on the outside."
"Oh Alvie… I had no idea and now I understand why you kept it hidden all this time from us. And because I read all those books about you being extra special, special, I now understand my little sister way better…" Said Brittany as she gave him a hug to help him feel better and which it did help.
Brittany continued. "So what other ideas do you have Alvie?" She asked at first before getting some ides of her own. "Maybe you could be something like a goth with a dog collar, but your own version of a goth that you like to see. Or maybe even get some eye contacts that can change your eyes to a different color to."
"Brittany you're a genius!" Said Alvin as he pulled her in to give her a kiss on her lips. "And if I'm gonna do this, then I need to do this my way with the works. So let's go and do some more shopping."
"Ok," Brittany said smiling as she put her hand on his shoulder to get his attention,. "But before you go dragging me all over the mall to the circus shops to shop. Can I have a little request on my part please?"
"Circus shops?" Alvin said with a slight confused look as first before getting it. "Oh you mean…Sorry! I didn't mean to drag you with me until I find what I'm looking for."
"Its ok Alvie." Brittany said looking at him with a sweet smile."
"So…What's your request then?
"You see…I um…I mean… Would it be alright with you if it was surprised? I want it to be surprised and I'd like to be surprise with Dave when you show both of us tomorrow how you would like to be for now on? So is that ok and is it alright if you do that?"
"Well I guess it's ok. But then how am I going to get ready…if your not there to help me? Because I kinda expected you to be there. Not necessarily getting dressed part, but the other part like my fur and hair?"
"I sill can help you, you twit. But not in the way that you may be thinking. But fear not Alvie, I do have a plan that will help you no matter what. So come with me and I will show you how I can help, with out me being there ok."
"Ok."
And so Brittany took Alvin to 'Groomers Я us.' A place he knew all to well with his family. A place he's used to going to get the works done up on him. Like for picture day, autograph signing, and other special events that require him to look really sharp.
"Here! You mean here at this one. But Kaitlyn knows me. You know how I feel about being found out Brittany. So why bring me here for."
"Sshhhh quiet. Not so loudly, because other people are starting to look and status stare at us. I brought you here for a reason and you're gonna have to trust me this time. So come on." Brittany said grabbing his hand and dragging him with her to the store.
"Oh hi Brittany and Alvie, I will be with you guys in a second," said Kaitlyn grabbing her phone that was ringing off the hook.
—
"Hello this is Katelyn speaking at 'Groomers Я us' and how may I help you today."
…(blah, blah, blah)…
"Yes sir I do. I do chipmunks, chipette and four legged friends."
…(blah, blah, blah)…
"I normally open up at 8:30am unless if I have an early scheduled appointment."
…(blah, blah, blah)…
"No sir you normally would have to make the appointment a week in advance to be able to come in earlier than 8:30 in the morning."
…(blah, blah, blah)…
"Well here lemme check my calendar book real fast to see if I have any early appointments tomorrow and if I do, I will let you know. So please wait while I put you on hold." Katelyn said as she put someone on hold before turning her attention to Alvin and Brittany for a few minutes.
—
"Hey what up guys and how can I help the two of you." Katelyn said as she held the phone for a few minutes while pretending to look at her calendar.
"Well… Can I make a early appointment tomorrow morning around 7 am?" Brittany asked.
"Of course you guys can and you guys always come first no matter what. So what's the special occasion and is it for both of you?" Katelyn asked Brittany because she would do all the talking..
"Well…it's not really a special occasion for say Katelyn and the appointment isn't for me. It's really for him and he needs a lot of work getting ready tomorrow morning. So it's probably going to take a lot longer than normal and he needs to show us something that he wants to be for on. So its going to a surprise for every one. Including me Katelyn."
"Brittany! What are you doing. I said I didn't want Katelyn to know. So please don't this." Alvin whispered very quiet to Brittany being not very happy about what she just did.
"Alvie! It's better if Katelyn knows and she can help you. And I said your gonna have to trust me on this ok. Now be quiet because Katelyn is on the phone." Whispered Brittany to Alvin
"Ok no problem Brittany." Said Katelyn wondering what they were whispering about while holding the phone in her hand before turning her attention to her business on the phone.
—
"Sorry for the wait kind sir and it looks like you're in luck today. Because I have someone coming in at seven tomorrow."
…(blah, blah, blah)…
"So…what would you like done and since you are a new customer coming in and it's your first time coming here. You get a half off deal. And if you become a regular, you get 10% off each time you come."
…(blah, blah, blah)…
"That won't be a problem sir and when you get here, just ring the doorbell on the front door and I will let you in." Katelyn said as she got off the phone
—
"Ok guys what's the deal between the two of you. I know one of you isn't very happy with the other one and what's with the whispering so quietly to each other, And Alvie…I know something is really bothering you right now because your ears show it. So again…what's the deal between the two of you."
Katelyn continued. "Remember I am your guises personal groomer that gets the six of you ready for anything that comes up. Whatever it be for a dance, getting a family picture together or other events that requires you to look exceptionally nice for a photo or a concert."
Katelyn continued more. "And I've been doing you guys since you started talking and I know how you all like your stalls. Even your most favorite ones that you like to use. You guys even share some of your personal thoughts with me one on one from time to time. So what ever you tell me always stays with me no mater what," spoke Katelyn in a reassuring voice.
"Alvie, I'm telling you the truth here. You can trust Katelyn with this and I will share my scavenger hunt adventure that I had to do and get for Eleanor's birthday present. You see Katelyn here wouldn't tell me what Eleanor really wanted for her birthday. But what Katelyn did was send me to several places and I had to figure out why i was there. First it was the library, then it was….….….…. And after a week of this I finally figured out what Eleanor really wanted for her birthday. And thats how Eleanor got a 18'th century old cookbook."
"It's all true Alvie and Brittany really thought I was sending her on a wild goose chase all over town, but I told her there was a purpose why I was having her to do this. So she had to believe me." Katelyn said.
"…" Alvin just stood there silently looking down, feeling uneasy and so self body-conscious.
"Alvie… I promise its going to be ok, ok." Brittany said trying to reassure him.
"Alvie," Katelyn said to Alvin trying to reassure him as well. "I promise and I can guarantee you no one will ever know your secret. And I have a feeling I know what it is already. You've always been a-little oddly different than how your brothers are and always felt different, different about your body yourself then like your brothers…. I just want you to know you trust me when I say that, ok."
"It kinda sounds like you already know and I kinda feel like I was born in the wrong body all together Katelyn. I never really felt like this was supposed to be me at all and… You promise no one will ever find out that I want to be a girl Katelyn. Because I've read a few stories where it all went wrong and…"
'No wonder you feel this way Alvie,' thought Brittany to herself as she listened quietly.
"Oh geez's Alvie. No wonder you're so self conscious about this." Katelyn said giving Alvin a hug. "I promise no one will ever find out from me. But what if I told you I have a friend who's has experience in the field and my friend totally would understand what you're going through. In fact I have a story I'd like to share with you. But I won't tell you my story unless you come in the morning and I will even let you talk to my friend in person when your finished getting ready as a girl. So what do you say."
"Well as long as…" Said Alvin nervously fidgeting with his right foot.
"Hey Alvie, would you feel better if I came by in the morning to pick you up and bring what ever you need to bring in a sack. Or would you rather secretly leave the items here in my store."
"Can I do both and would you mind picking me up at 6:30 instead of 7. I promise to be ready. Probably be nervous though, but definitely ready for you."
"Oh corse you can Alvie. So I'll see you in the morning then." Said Katelyn with a smile.
And right after that, Brittany even gave Alvin a hug, followed with a kiss on his cheek. Making Alvin feel more confident about becoming a girl on the outside. After the kiss, followed with a small smile on her face, Brittany's spoke.
"Hey Alvie? Do you mind if I go and do some shopping myself for a while. I spotted a really cute dress in one of those other shops earlier today and I want to see if it fits me. So I'm gonna be a while doing that and after that, I'm getting me a pedicure at 'Nails Я us.' Before heading home."
"Yeah sure go on and have some fun Brittany. And thanks for everything you did so fare." Alvin said with a play full smile.
"You're welcome Alvie and I won't forget the dress at ' Summer's Day Dresses.' Besides I want to go back there and do some more shopping and I'm sure you want to shop some more until you find what you're looking for, right?"
"Well actually I do and thanks for the help and giving me the confidence Brittany and I promise to pay you back."
""I know you will. Now go and have your fun for the rest of the day."
And so Alvin and Brittany parted their ways for the remainder of the day. And Alvin continue shopping for items he was looking for. His first stop was the pet store and he got him a normal brown dog collar. But what he really wanted was a red and black pirate theme dog collar and that would be way cooler to wear all the time. It was also out of his price range as well.
Then he decided on a sensible official name for himself that he wouldn't mind being called from time to time and a good nickname that he really liked better to be called. Since he got a dog collar, it only made since to get dog tags to go with his dog collar.
So then he looked at all the different dog tags and he spotted one he really liked a-lot. So he had the name 'Allison Elizabeth McKenna Seville,' engraved on a cool looking dog tag. With his home address on it.
Then he started looking at clip on earrings and he found some that were ok to wear and they were fairly inexpensive to buy. Red ones would be better and he did find some that he really liked. But there were ones that required to get his ears pierced and they were out of his price range. Found some bracelets that he liked too, but couldn't afford them either and they went well with the red earrings that he liked so much. And he already knew he would have to have Dave with him to get his ears pierced anyways because of his his age.
Then he started shopping for some hair and fur dye. He right a way found the right colored hair dye that he really liked. It was red, his favorite color. Next came the tricky part and that was the right strawberry color for his fur. Some were way to pink and some were way to light. So he finally had to ask someone at the store for some advice.
And the advice that he was given, he could make up his own colored fur dye by mixing one color with another color to achieve the color he was after. And to make it look more of a natural looking, he could even frost it with light cream color…if he really wanted it done. And of course he already love the idea. So he definitely would have that done.
And so after his shopping spree with his items that he got, he still had enough money to get a pedicure at 'Nails Я us' in the morning. With his nails being painted red.
"Ok Katelyn I'm back and I got everything I need for tomorrow morning." Alvin said cheerfully.
"Ok here lemme see." Said Katelyn as she looked in the sack seeing all the items he had gotten for himself. "Oh my, you really are serious about this aren't you?"
"MM-HMM." Mummed Alvin nervously.
"Well I can guarantee you one thing for sure. No one won't ever recognize you at all with your yellow outfit, hair and fur dyed and with these items. So go on and tell me how you want to look Alvie."
"Well I got me red hair dye for my hair and I'm hopping to get my fur dyed a nice looking strawberry color with highlights of creem or frosted cream all over me….to where my fur looks natural to everyone. I got me a clip on earrings and they are ok to have and a ok looking dog collar with dog tags."
Alvin continued. "As for my new name…. I choose 'Allison Elizabeth McKenna Seville' for a reason. One I have a distant relative dating all of back to the 1800s and I knida liked the name. Two…I really like the nick name Allie. But I knew I had to choose a proper name instead of a short nick name and that when I remembered I had an old family relative."
Alvin continued more. "And last, I got me what I could afford and not get me what I really wanted. And when I'm all finished, I plan to get me a pedicure and get my nails painted red. Where I will keep them red most of the time."
"Hummm… Well that definitely is a challenge with the fur dye and a challenge I accept." Said Katelyn making a happy fist as she moved her arm. "I promise you will look like a nice lovely Chipette when I'm finish Alvie. And by the way, I love the new name you decided on and you put a lot of thought in to this didn't you? Which is good to see. Now tell me what you really wanted to get that you couldn't afford, ok." Said Katelyn looking sweet and innocent.
"Ok and how about I just show you instead. Because I took pictures what I really, really wanted. I took them to help show rather than to try and explain what they look like. And this is what they look like Katelyn." Said Alvin as he showed Katelyn the pictures of the earrings, bracelets, and dog collar.
And of course Katelyn recognized where they were at and knew what store to go to, to buy them. Or at leas make sure no one else couldn't get them. But make sure they still were for sale to a certain Chipette with strawberry fur named 'Allison Elizabeth McKenna Seville.' When she and Dave went shopping together.
"I have to admit Alvie, what you chose really fits you perfectly. This definitely is you all over. So what gave you the idea of getting a dog collar with tags? If I may ask?"
"It actually was Brittany. She gave me the idea when she said goth…but with a little twist of my own version of goth that I would like better. And thats how I came up with all of this." Alvin said looking happy before continuing. "Thanks for helping me get done up tomorrow and I'm sure Dave will pay you later. I mean… I don't expect you to do this for free. But you will get payed one way or another."
"Nonsense Alvie and don't worry about that now. I will get with you and Dave latter. Now run along and have fun doing what ever you want to do. Beside I have other clients coming in fairly soon."
"Ok." Alvin said with a smile.
And as soon as Alvin was out of site, Katelyn put up a five minute closed sign on her door. Went to each department and made arrangements for the items that Alvin was looking at to be sold to a certain chipette with strawberry fur named 'Allison Elizabeth McKenna Seville.' But Katelyn did buy that one pirate theme dog collar for Alvin as a gift and it really wasn't that expensive to buy. But it was more than Alvin could afford.
Alvin then went to the park and sat on a small bench with sand as a beach that was on top of a small slight hill, overlooking a small cove in the park. The warm sand shifting beneath him. The wind kissed his face, blowing gently against his body. The clouds passed him in a sleepy haze, the sun peaking from behind them. He felt safe and happy with himself now more then ever. He finally got enough courage to come forth and tell his family of who he wants to be for now on.
'Man I can't wait for tomorrow to come,' he thought to himself smiling. 'I just hope Dave can fully understand I can't be what everyone sees anymore. I need to be happy and I'm happy becomeing a… Now what was that name that Brittany call me again… Oh yeah! She called me a munk-ette. I'm happy becomeing a munk-ette. I really want to start living as a girl like Brittany and her sisters more than ever. As least I can look like one on the outside with my brothers.' Thought Alvin as he continued thinking to himself.
That's why Alvin was sitting on the small bench alone, resting beneath the warm spring sun. He wanted a break from the rock star mentality world, all the stuff he love doing with his brothers. This gave him time to be who he truly wants to be. And that just a normal kid who wants to have fun. Without the paparazzi following him everywhere he goes.
But there was another problem that he was getting tired of. Being in a famous band is one thing. But when you're getting ten times more attention than your brothers and your adopted sisters. It can take a toll on the rest of your family. Even being called the glory hound from your family from time to time from can hit you hard sometime. And Alvin started noticing the crowd wanting to see him more than his brothers and that was something he wanted to change some how. Although at the time he wasn't sure how to do that yet.
Then suddenly out of the blue a voice called out behind him saying.
"Look out!"
He turned around just in time to see a soccer ball whiz past his nose, hitting the surf with a loud splash. He could swear his heart skipped a beat just then.
'Geez! What are my fans trying to do now! There trying to assassinate me with a soccer ball? I can see it all now right before my eyes on the 11 o'clock news tonight. Here lies the great Alvin Seville. A once former lead singer in a band now lies dead on the sand. Cause of death…death by soccer ball in the head. Its bad enough I get mauled by the crowd before climbing a tree to seek refuge. Now I have to watch for flying objects in the sky. Can't go anywhere these days.' Thought Alvin to himself after seeing a small chipmunk…rather a albino white chipmunk come running towards him.
"Are you ok?" The voice said before getting alarmed with excitement after seeing who it really was. "Oh man I can't believe its you. Your Alvin seville. Can I get your graph? Hey everyone its… "Mhmmphm! Mhumm! MMMRRRGH! MMPHHH!" Said the white albino chipmunk before getting his mouth covered up with a hand.
Alvin quickly got up, grabbed him tightly and covered his mouth with his hand. Not trying to smother him for say, but definitely keep him quiet fore a few minutes so Alvin can speak quietly to his rather excited fan.
"SSSSHHHHH! Quiet you, not so loud and I'm not deaf. Uhh….white lab rat."
"Mhmmphm! Mhumm! MMMRRRGH! MMPHHH!" Mummed the white albino chipmunk as he struggled to get free.
"I said QUIET and quit, squirming around already!" Alvin said making a stronger hold on the kid. "And I'm way more stronger than I look. Now nod if you can understand, ok."
"Mm-hmm." Mummed the albino chipmunk now realizing that Alvin was far more stronger than he was.
"Good." Said Alvin starting to ease off his hold on the chipmunk. "I'm not going to hurt and I just want you just listen to me for a few minutes. After a few minutes, then we'll talk together ok. And I'm sorry if I called you a white lab rat. I really didn't mean it you know. But you did surprise me and I was caught off guard for the moment of what else to say. Understand."
"Mm-hmm." Mummed the albino chipmunk noticing that Alvin was relaxing his grip even moree.
"Good. Now I'm going to remove my hand and let you go. And again, I'm sorry if roughed you a little." Alvin said letting the albino chipmunk go before speaking again. "Now let's stat with the basics of getting to know each other and I will go first…. Hi, I'm Alvin, Alvin seville." Said Alvin as he held his hand out.
"H…h-hi…. I'm Ian Hawke and I'm pleased to m…m-meet you Alvin." Said Ian very nervously as he held on his hand to shake Alvins hand.
"I'm pleased to meet you too Ian and you don't have to be so nervous around me ok. Because you kinda look like you're gonna make a mad dash down the hill or about to pee your pants right now. So how about we sit on the bench and I will tell you my side ok."
And so both of them sat down and Alvin explained what's it like being a rockstar. Both of its perks and downsides of being a rockstar. And when Alvin finished, Ian then felt bad after words when he first met Alvin in person.
"I had no idea that it was like that for you Alvin and now I understand why you acted like you did."
"Thanks for understanding Ian… So you new to town?" Alvin asked sitting next to Ian.
"Well sorta. But I've been in town for three to four days now. I just haven't gotten out much do to unpacking in my new house down the road. And on top of that, my family is getting ready for the wedding tomorrow." Ian explained.
"Oh Cool, we should hangout some time. If you want." Alvin said making Ian smile.
"I'd like that very much Alvin." Ian says happily.
"So do you still want that autograph? Or do you want to play soccer ball with me for a few hours? Alvin asked his new friend.
"Yes! Um…can we do both?" Ian squeaked in a high pitch voice with delight with excitement as he practically was dancing with even more excitement.
"Come on let's go squeaky boy and let's have some fun for a while." Alvin said half way joking with a smile.
A few hours pass as the two played soccer ball. Ian had lots of fun and so did Alvin. Alvin felt relaxed, like he belonged out on the field as a ordinary kid not tied to fame. So it was nice to feel that way.
"I probably should be getting home Ian." Alvin said as he sat down on the grassy field.
"Yeah I need to be getting home to Alvin. I'm sure mom and dad are wondering where I been all this time. I told them I would be gone for les than a hour and now its been four hours later. So I'll probably be in trouble when I get home." Ian said looking at the grown.
"Hey Ian, I think I know of a way to get you out of trouble and this probably will make you very popular with your family to. So how about you do a selfie with me in with you in the picture. And you can show your family who you were with today."
"This is way better than an autograph….oh thank you, thank you, thank you so much Alvin."
"You're welcome Ian."Said Alvin with a smile before going to thought. 'What should I do now and how should I tell him? I really like this kid as a friend and he doesn't know he's going to the same school as I'm going to when school starts again. So how should I tell him that I'm gonna be different from now on? Oh I know what to do now.'
"Hey Ian, can I ask you an oddball question… I mean I've been wondering about something myself for a while that I read somewhere before and I'd like your opinion about it."
"Go ahead and shoot." Ian said innocently.
"Well….hypothetically of course. How would you react if you knew somebody that was special special, but also different special from anyone else. That they thought they were born different from their siblings of the same gender."
"Well…it would depend on what kind of special you're trying to refer to and every one is special in their own way you know. But hypothetically… If one thought they were a transgender or a cross dresser or even a nonbinary. I still would treat them the same way and would respect there decision to be different. I still would play with them even if they are different." 'Oh man…How should I tell my new friend here that I'm part of that group that I just mentioned. And yet…I really like him to be a friend.' Thought Ian to himself with a slight worry.
"Oh? Ok. I guess I should feel the same way then… I mean…um… That came out all wrong ok Ian. What I mean to say is, I most likely would do what you would do. Treat them no different like nothing has changed. Because things wouldn't be different. I'd be like wearing a costume and thanks for your opinion. It really helped a lot. So thanks."
"Oh? You mean you won't be offended at all?"
"No not really. You see I've been confused on that subject for a while now. I've read a few books here and there, but nothing gave me my answer I've been looking for. But thanks to you, I've been put on the right track. So again…thanks." Said Alvin giving him a play full swing at his arm.
"Your welcome Alvin." Ian said with a smile before going to thought. 'I guess I don't have to worry with my new friend Alvin anymore. He definitely is going to be a good friend to me at my new school.'
And so both boys parted ways feeling happy. Alvin got a new friend to pay with. Someone he can be himself around with no worry. Ian got a new friend feeling the same way. When Alvin got home, he saw a huge stack of books with Dave taking a short nap on the couch.
"Whoa Dave, just how many books did you get from the library today. Lets see one says…
transgender 101 for dummies, how to raise a transgender child with siblings. How raise a strong willed child! ….. Well Dave that last one definitely is me and others say… 'What are signs of gender dysphoria snd how to be supportive. How to raise a confuse child about their own gender. And there many more of that same subject."
Alvin continued. "Wow Dave you really are serious about our talk in the morning…But I never meant to cause you so much grief though…. " Alvin said as he got a small pillow and a blanket to cover up Dave. He was trying to be thoughtful and he appreciated Dave's effort as a loving parent and guardian.
