It has been almost ten years since the Dursleys found Frisk on their doorstep, but nothing else in Privet Drive was changed. The framed pictures along the walls have changed, however. The photos used to show Dudley, the son to Mr. and Mrs. Dursley and the cousin to Frisk, to be the equivalent of a pink beach ball in many different bonnets. Dudley now, however, is not a baby anymore, and the photos have been switched out with many memories of his parents, with no trace of another child who also inhabited the house.
Yet, Frisk Dearborn was there, at the moment, asleep. Not for long, though.
"Get up! Now!"
Frisk woke up with a start from their aunt's screeching and her banging on the door to his room.
"Come on! Up! I want things to be perfect for little Duddy's birthday!"
"I'm coming, don't worry." Said Frisk in a lazy voice.
"Well, you better be! Get to watching the bacon, and you better not let it burn!" Aunt Petunia stomps off to Dudley's room, leaving Frisk to get ready. Of course, it's Dudley's birthday. It seemed like every day was Dudley's birthday, him being a spoiled beach ball. Frisk has to watch the bacon, so they'll prevent being locked up in their room, the cupboard under the stairs.
Frisk slowly walked out of the cupboard into the kitchen, where the many presents for Dudley covered the entire table, and the stack was an inch away from the roof. I don't know why someone would buy a gift for a slob like him, but whatever floats their boat.
Frisk was frying eggs when Dudley came inside with his mother. The first thing Dudley's eyes went to was the presents on the table. Unsurprisingly, Dudley's counting skills are not the best.
"How many are there?" Dudley asked his father.
"Thirty-Six," Uncle Vernon said pridefully, "Counted them this morning."
"THIRTY-SIX?! LAST YEAR THERE WERE THIRTY-SEVEN!" Dudley yelled, offended by the lack of presents increasing this year.
"Well, some of them are quite bigger this-"
"I DON'T CARE HOW BIG THEY ARE!"
Frisk made a slight eye roll; luckily, no one saw it.
"How about we get you two more presents while we're at the zoo today?" Aunt Petunia answered.
"Hmm... okay," Dudley answered, annoyed that the present amount only went up one.
It was a beautiful day outside, perfect for a trip to the zoo. Aunt Petunia opens the car door and helps Dudley in. Meanwhile, Frisk was pulled aside by Uncle Vernon, who had a stern look on his face.
"If you even try to start any funny business, I will lock you in your cupboard for a week with no meals, got it?"
"Yes, Uncle Vernon," said Frisk, who put on a meek facade.
"Alright. Get in."
Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, Dudley, and Harry stood in front of an area where a boa constrictor slept peacefully under the light of his case.
"Make it move," said Dudley, visibly annoyed.
Uncle Vernon tapped on the glass to wake up the giant snake. "MOVE!" yelled Dudley, smacking the glass so hard that everyone in the reptile room heard it.
"He's asleep!" said Frisk with much concern for the snake's well-being.
"He's boring," Dudley said as he, Uncle Vernon, and Aunt Petunia moved to a different enclosure, leaving Frisk with the snake.
"Don't worry about him," Frisk whispered to the snake, turning to Dudley at their right, "He doesn't know what it's like to lay around all day and get people's faces all over you. Hopefully, he fixes his lifestyle for the better." When Frisk turns back to the snake, it's looking at them with its full attention.
"Can you hear me?" Frisk asked. The snake nodded thoughtfully.
"Wow. Um... I have never talked to a snake before... do people talk with you often?" The snake shakes its head.
"Aww, that's sad," Frisk turns to the sign next to the enclosure. "It says here that you're from Burma. What was it like there? Do you miss your family?" The snake gestures back to the sign.
"'Bred in captivity.' I see now. I guess I was 'bred in captivity too; I have never seen my parents."
The now-awake snake catches Dudley's attention. He rushes from the other side of the reptile room to the snake and pushes Frisk to the floor.
"Mummy! Daddy! Look what this snake is doing!" Dudley alerts his parents about the snake.
Frisk struggles to get up from the sudden push and glares at Dudley. Dudley puts his face on the glass, admiring the snake. Suddenly, the glass disappears; Dudley loses his balance and falls into the snake enclosure. "WHOA! AHH!"
The snake slithers over Dudley and out of the enclosure. The snake stops in front of Frisk.
"Thanks."
"Anytime."
The snake slithers to the exit, "SNAKE!" a man screams, and everyone runs in different directions, trying to get away from the snake. Dudley, meanwhile, tries to get out of the snake enclosure, but the glass wall somehow reappears, so Dudley is now trapped. In a panic, Dudley bangs on the glass, alerting his parents.
"MOM! HELP ME! MOOOOOM!" Dudley screams, though muffled; Aunt Petunia hears the calls from her child and runs to the enclosure.
"OH, MY BABY! HOW DID YOU GET IN THERE?!"
Frisk, shocked by the series of events, looks at Uncle Vernon with a face of pity. Uncle Vernon turns back with a scowl. Since Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia don't have any common sense (as far as Frisk was aware), Frisk runs over to one of the workers at the zoo to help Dudley out of the enclosure. Hopefully, this act will cut them slack and go at least five days without food instead of seven.
Author's Note:
I do not own Harry Potter or Undertale!
Hello readers! Right now the story is just fanfiction made for fun and to improve my writing, so constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. The posts of this will probably be scattered, but that is just the problem when you can only write in your free time, and you're also in the middle of school.
The story is HEAVILY based on the Harry Potter novels, so if some idea and text are repeated, sorry, not sorry. Next post, the Dursleys are going to get a bombardment of letters, so stay tuned!
See you later!
