Chapter 2: Discovery
Part 2: The Lion's Plea
As Violet rode on Silver Wind, they carefully landed within the woods of the blessed enchanted forest. Silver Wind cautiously clip-clopped towards the direction where he is going. As they are near the area, Violet looks up. With one look, her eyes widened. "Whoa boy," she halted Silver Wind. "Stay," she commanded as she got off Silver Wind. Violet carefully crept closer to the crash site and she slowly realized that the object that she has found belonged to what she hasn't heard about in many years. Never seen it for herself but she heard many stories about it. Violet has begun to study structure. A lion... Violet thought as she looks at the lion. It was decorated in the color black and white with some parts that are gold and red. But its eyes are yellow. Suddenly, the name finally entered her mind. A piece of Voltron, no way. Violet couldn't believe that within her eyes, she is staring at an actual piece of Voltron. The Defender of the Galaxy. But never in her millions of years that it would end up on her home planet. Without her knowing, the lion is staring back at her in return.
A male's groan has moaned within the lion.
"Huh?" Violet nearly jumped, almost tempted to run and hide. But due to her Celestial instinct, it tells her that someone is hurt and that someone needs her help. With courage and determination, Violet looks around to find the entrance. Luckily, she found it and it is within the lion's mouth. Violet took a deep breath and slowly enters the lion's mouth and climb herself to the entrance.
Inside the lion, everything is dark and quiet. Suddenly, the airlock slightly opened and revealed the light that illuminate some of the darkness. Violet nearly stepped in, until she noticed something as she looked around. It's dark in here. Violet thought. I better shed some light. Violet lifts her right hand which is balled into a fist. Once Violet help it up in the air, she quickly opened her hand. A dozen balls of light have appeared and spread out of the area. Suddenly, a gentle light lit up the area of the room. Violet sighed in relief. That's much...
A moan that is full of pain has sounded on her right. Violet turned.
Violet's eyes widened with fear at the sight that she is seeing. In one corner of the room, she saw a creature that is nearly curled up and unconscious. The creature has purple fur, a scar-like mark is in deep purple on his left cheek. A mullet hairstyle is in a color of dark indigo-blue, with purple cat-like ears, and fangs sticking out in his mouth. The creature is also wearing strange armor that she could barely see while it has scratches and blood on its left leg armor. Along with a pipe and a coil of rope tied around it. Violet gasped with her hand over her mouth as she takes a few steps back. A Galra! Violet continued to stare at the unconscious Galra. In confusion, Violet began to think straight. But...I don't understand. How come it...? Suddenly, everything around the room has become light and started to change into color.
Once Violet blinked, she noticed that she was no longer wearing her cape. Her bowed wings are showing. But around her, is a field of strong aura that she has never seen before. In the same corner, the galra continues to lean against the wall while it is still unconscious and in pain. W-what? Violet continues to wonder. What's going on?
"Miss," a calm voice has spoken to her.
"Huh?" Violet looked around, "Who...whose there?"
"Forgive me to frighten you," the voice replied. "I am the Black Lion of Voltron and I mean you no harm."
"Oh, the Black Lion." Violet gently smiled, "That's a relief."
"I may have no power to move," the Black Lion spoke. "But do have the power to speak to you and forgive me to crash into your planet. I just needed a place to rest."
"No need to apologize," Violet spoke. "When I saw you crash and see no fire spread. The secret law has stated that if anything crashed within the forest that does not burn. We must come to help, luckily that I found you by following that law."
"What happens if does?" The Black Lion asked, curiously.
"It is a sign of evil and enemy, and that soul must be going to the Pit. So, it will be into the land of darkness and let leave into peace to repair our own." Violet's smile faded, "But...since I found you, how come that you are good while you are with...him?" Violet pointed at the galra.
"I know that you feared of his kind," Black spoke. "But I assure you, that he is not like the others that you were told of."
"What makes you...?" Violet was about to ask.
The galra groaned loudly have interrupted her.
"There's not enough time," Black panicked. "The power that I have left won't keep him together much longer."
"Huh? I don't understand," Violet got confused. "What...?"
"Miss," the Black Lion purred his plea with concern. "I know that this is confusing but if you must. Please. Please help him."
"What?!" Violet jumped, "You...you want me to help a galra? I know that they are destroyers and conquers of planets. That also includes him. And what makes him so different among his kind?"
"He's not just a galra alone," Black tried to hold his growl. "This galra is one of the Rebellion Galra groups that fought against the Galran Empire. Who has helped Team Voltron to defeat them. Plus, he is also a paladin himself."
"Wait," Violet jumped. "Paladin?"
"Yes," the Black Lion purred. "My paladin." Violet looked at the galra again, and she started to see the armor that is covered in scratches, dust, and some blood. The armor is indeed red and white and Violet begins to understand why he is no ordinary galra.
"I'm so sorry," Violet apologized. "I didn't even know that he's..."
"It's alright," Black purred. "Not everyone should have known about it, not unless it is those that he helped with. But they are out of danger right now and we are alone. However, would you please take care of him for me? Till I recover from the crash."
"Yes, of course." Violet hesitantly answered, "I will do everything that I can to help him to get better while you recover."
"Thank you, princess." Black purred, "And good luck." Suddenly, the field has disappeared, and everything has returned to normal.
When everything has returned to normal, Violet blinked her eyes again and noticed that she is still wearing her cape. Her enchanted lights are still glimmering within the room while Violet continues to stare at the unconscious galra. Nearly eager of running outside, she could not back down from the request that the lion has spoken of. Violet sighed nervously. I can still try everything to help him. Violet thought. And do every power that I have to do so.
