Chapter 15: The Council's Decision
Part 1: Debate
When Keith, Violet, and Twilight exit the room. King Duncan sat on his throne and turn to the council. "Council," he spoke in a firm voice. "What do you think?"
"The boy has spoken truthfully," Council Member #1 has spoken. "But it seems that he is holding something back, something that he feared for not believing him."
"I agree," Council Member #2 nodded. "He was fearing about something that would expose part of the truth that he only knows, but the rest of his story is full of truth. There is no lie into it about it."
"Well some," Council Member #1 added. "Not a lot."
"Indeed," Council Member #3 nodded. "The young Galra has a spirit of a true warrior that has indeed a very good soul. There's no wonder that the Guardian Spirit of Leon had requested us to spare him for till this day."
"And he's a half breed, half Tau'ri." Council Member #4 spoke, "So there's no need to be frightened about him."
"Yet," Council Member #3 muttered.
Council Member #4 narrowed its eyes as Council Member #3.
"I see," King Duncan sighed. "But what shall we do with him? I fear that he will influence one of my nieces to do one of his biddings. Or worse."
"Perhaps," said Council Member #2. "But he's still wounded, he could not leave properly till his leg has fully recovered. And he seems to be no threat."
"Yet," Council Member #3 muttered.
Council Member #2 narrowed its eyes at Council Member #3.
"I know," King Duncan rubbed the bridge of his nose. "But I don't like the way that my youngest niece looks at him. Being friendly and all, like she's started to like him. And I bet that he looks at her in return in that way."
"The heiress is still young," Council Member #1 spoke. "She can have crushes at times, but it will take time for the Sacred Law to be stated for her to do her duties. Including when her Name-Day is approaching."
"Hmph, perhaps so. I worried too much," King Duncan lean forward. "I should prefer to get rid of him before my head truly explodes."
"Not just yet, your majesty." Council Member #5 spoke, "The heiress has claimed him, he wears the Pendant of Protection and Light. With the sacred power that sleeps within her, he is well protected, so he won't be harmed. And I believe that he wouldn't harm her, since he is male after all."
"Point is?" Council Member #4 asked.
"When you saw something fragile, no harm would come between them." Council Member #5 answered, "Friendship will forge within and peace will come along for them as well, and even more."
"Oh," Council Member #4 exclaimed.
"So, what do you all suggest to do?" King Duncan asked, "What shall we do with the galra that we have in our custody and my young niece's protection."
The council members muttered one to another, nodding to the final agreement. One of the Council Members stood up.
"Your majesty," Council Member #1 spoke. "If may, we have decided to do something about, or should I say with the young Galra."
"What is it then?" King Duncan asked, willingly to listen to the Council's idea.
Outside of the Council Room, Keith is leaning against the wall while Twilight and Violet are sitting down on the chairs. Waiting for the king to let them re-enter the room. "WHAT?!" King Duncan's voice boomed from the room to the hallways.
"Ah, is that a good sign or a bad sign?" Keith asked.
"The way that he shouted," Violet shook her head. "It sounds like he doesn't like what he hears."
"The way to me had sounded like," Twilight spoke with eyes silvery-white. "That our uncle shouted a few moments ago that there is bad news for him, but good news for us."
"What makes you for sure?" Violet asked.
"Instinct," Twilight smiled.
"That makes a lot of sense," Keith spoke.
Twilight nodded as she, Violet, and Keith continue waiting in the hallway.
Back within the council room, "Are you serious?" King Duncan stood up from his throne. With anger imprinted upon his face, "Have you all lost one of your feathers? We don't know if we could trust this type of Galra Hybrid, walking around in my Kingdom!"
"We understand that you fear him, sire." Council Member #1 spoke, "But we must give him a chance, and this is the only chance that we are going to give him. If he doesn't take it, we will do whatever you take to send him away. That is the only opinion that we have."
King Duncan grunted as he puzzled and puzzled for a moment. As he remembers the time when his young niece had shown determination and bravery for the first time. For standing up and protecting Keith. Begun to know that it could hurt her if he did something that she never likes. For once in his entire life, he got his guard up as he made a final decision. "Alright," he spoke as he sat back down. "We will do that, but if he fails. We must send him away, so there will be no trouble within Heaven. Ever again."
"Very well, your majesty." Council Member #1 bowed as it too sat down. King Duncan turned to his guard.
"Send them back in," King Duncan ordered.
"Yes, your majesty." The guard bowed as he heads towards the door.
In the hallway, Keith, Twilight, and Violet waited patiently. Suddenly, the door opened, and the guard had shown from the crack of the door. Letting them know that it's time to go back inside the room.
