Chapter 28: The Ball
Part 5: Comforting
~Meanwhile, on Earth...~
Krolia was reading a book quietly in her apartment, suddenly a knock sounded at the door. Krolia got up, and open it. Recognized the scents that have flown within the air. "Shiro," Krolia smiled. "Kolivan, Coran. What a surprise." Krolia allowed her guests to come in.
"We want to see how you were doing so far Krolia," Shiro smiled.
"I'm getting better," Krolia smiled. "Thank you for checking on me."
"Anytime," Shiro replied.
"But how's the orb?" Kolivan asked. Krolia turned, facing the orb. Others followed. Seeing a few rose petals around it and have no cracks.
"Keith is better now, according to the orb," Krolia answered. "But he is somewhere...unexpected."
"What do you mean?" Coran asked.
"A few days ago," Krolia began. "The orb has shown a secret. It showed me about Keith is healthy and alive. But was found or accompanied by a Celestial Being."
"Wait?" Kolican asked. "Did you say a Celestial Being?"
"Indeed, yes." Krolia nodded.
"How many wings does it have?" Coran asked.
"Four and its color platinum," Krolia answered. "And if my memory is correct, it is a Royal One."
"Hold on," Shiro raised his hand. "Are you talking about that Christmas Angel that Keith was talking about back at Christmas time before our battle with Zarkon?"
"The one and the same, but yes." Coran nodded.
"Wait," Krolia spoke. "Are you telling me that Keith met this being before?"
"Yeah, when he was a young child." Shiro answered, "That happened after he lost his father and he thought that he just met a girl from a Christmas play. Not a real angel."
"Well, it is real and he is with that Celestial Being right now," Krolia confirmed.
"What?" Shiro nearly jumped.
"Are you sure?" Kolvian asked.
"I'm positive," Krolia nodded. "The orbed showed me that he is with that same Celestial Being that he met when he was a child. Just wished how to activate it." Suddenly, the orbed glowed.
The men jumped.
"I think that you just have your wish granted," Kolivan pointed. Krolia turned. Seeing the rose glowed as it opened its bud from the center. Revealing a hidden diamond within the bud. As the diamond shimmered, revealing a Galra cub with a Celestial Being at a gazebo.
"It's Keith," Krolia pointed.
"Are you sure?" Coran asked.
"I'm sure of it," Krolia nodded.
"Umm Violet," Keith's voice echoed within the diamond surface. "To tell you the truth, I-I would like to dance with you but…"
"But?" Violet raised a brow.
"I…I've never danced," Keith nervously replied.
"You never danced?" Violet's eyes widened.
"I've never danced before and I don't even know how to dance," Keith exclaimed. Both Kolivan, Krolia, and Coran turned to Shiro.
Shiro chuckled in embarrassment. "It's true," he admitted. "He never has learned how to dance."
"Are you serious?" Krolia nearly growled.
Shiro nodded.
"It's quite alright," Violet smiled as she took Keith's hand. "I'll teach you."
"Uh..." Keith becomes more nervous.
"Don't worry," Violet smiled, "It's all in the hips and the back." Suddenly, a gentle breeze has blown out of nowhere as it bringing a gentle melody into the air.
Can I have this Dance?
Inspired by: High School Musical 3 ~ Senior Year
Keith blushed, as Violet guides his hand to Violet's side. Violet gently guides Keith's other hand to her right side and she put her right hand on his shoulder.
Violet:
Take my hand, take a breath
Pull me close and take one step
Keep your eyes locked to mine
And let the music be your guide
Slowly, both Keith and Violet began to dance.
Keith/(Violet):
Won't you promise me?
(Now won't you promise me?)
That you'll never forget
(We'll keep dancing)
As nervousness fades away, smiles appeared on their faces.
Keith and Violet:
To keep dancing wherever we go next
It's like catching lightning
The chances of finding someone like you
It's one in a million, the chances to feeling
The way we do
And with every step together
We just keep on getting better
Violet/(Keith):
So can I have this dance?
(Can I have this dance?)
Keith and Violet:
Can I have this dance?
Suddenly, they began to change course from teaching to dancing freely with confidence.
Keith:
Take my hand, I'll take the lead
And every turn will be safe with me
Don't be afraid, afraid to fall
You know I'll catch you through it all
Keith/(Violet):
And you can't keep us apart
(Even a thousand miles can't keep us apart)
Keith and Violet:
'Cause my heart is wherever you are
It's like catching lightning
The chances of finding someone like you
It's one in a million, the chances to feeling
The way we do
And with every step together
We just keep on getting better
As everyone watches the two dancing, Shiro smiled proudly as he watched Keith dancing. Krolia smiled as she sees how happy her son is when he is with a Celestial Being.
Violet/(Keith):
So can I have this dance?
(Can I have this dance?)
Keith and Violet:
Can I have this dance?
In surprise from the two species, Kolivan and Coran remain silent as they continue to listen as they continue to watch curiously.
Keith and Violet/(Violet):
(Oh, no mountain's too high) and no ocean's too wide
'Cause together or not, (our dance won't stop)
(Let it rain,) let it pour, what we have is worth fighting for
You know I believe that we were meant to be, yeah
It's like catching lightning
The chances of finding someone like you (oh, like you)
It's one in a million, the chances to feeling
The way we do
And with every step together
We just keep on getting better
Violet/(Keith)
So can I have this dance?
(Can I have this dance?)
Keith and Violet:
Can I have this dance?
Can I have this dance?
Can I have this dance?
As the two are close in contact, they both blushed as they felt something between them without knowing. Suddenly, the image from the surface of the diamond fades away.

As the surface of the diamond faded away, the middle bud closed tightly and the orb stopped glowing. Leaving the four quiet for a tick. "Well, that was unexpected." Kolivan broke the silence.
"Told you," Krolia smiled as she lightly giggled.
"So that's a Celestial Being," Shiro pointed.
"Sure is," Coran nodded as he played with his mustache. "No doubt about it and defiantly is a Royal One."
"Well, at least we all know that he is safe." Shiro sighed, "But hope that he finds that Blue Paladin in the time since that Shadow Mother is our new enemy."
"Don't worry Shiro, he will." Coran places his hand on Shiro's shoulder. "But right now, seems that he is somewhere safe and possibly found someone that could help him to break the spell that he was under."
"It's possible," Kolivan nodded. "Since he's been down and all before all of this."
"You seen it too?" Krolia jumped.
Kolivan nodded.
"Can you fill me in on how he's been down before all of this?" Shiro asked.
"Sure," Krolia nodded. "Since we have time," Krolia smiled as she get some tea ready. "Now, where to begin." She smiled as everything is getting to normal with the orb shimmering gently in the room.
Meanwhile, in Heaven...
~In the Royal Palace Garden...~
While Keith and Violet are finally away from De' Montrae and Bayamon, both Keith, and Violet are underneath a gazebo. The gazebo is crystalized turquoise quartz, decorated with vines and rose and light crystals. Shining upon the ceiling that is above them. Violet is sitting on one of the benches, trying to use her powers to heal her arm. But it is taking a very slow time to do so. Keith took both of his gloves off, pulled out his clean handkerchief, and dunk it into the clean pond that is in the center of the garden. Keith made sure that he squeezes enough water out as he folds it in half. He walked towards Violet, "Here," he kneeled to Violet's level. "Press this rag against the bruise, it will help to keep the swelling down."
"Alright, thanks." Violet gently pressed the cold, wet handkerchief against her arm. Keith sat down a few inches from her.
"So, it was Bayamon and De' Montrae doing this harm to you?" Keith spoke as he put his gloves back on. "Whenever you and your people celebrated on your Name Day visits?"
Violet nodded, guiltily.
"Why didn't you tell anyone about that?" Keith asked. "About Bayamon would have done something to you than he already has."
"I thought that I could handle it alone, at first. But I started to see that I was wrong." Violet replied, "And my family is alliance peacefully with Bayamon and De' Montrae's family." Violet began to shake, "If I speak up bout it…it…it would…"
"Lead to a broken alliance and end up bringing a Civil War toward to another," Keith slightly turns his head away. "That I can understand," Keith replied.
Violet turned to him in curiosity.
"But sometimes you must risk it," Keith continued. "Even if it is about standing for something very important. Not just for you or your family, but the kingdom as well. You have put others first before your own, you may have done it many times before, and you have kept your people happy and given you respect. But do you think that they would respect a king who is willing to hurt you as their queen? The one who brings hope to her people?"
Violet's eyes widened.
"Think about it," Keith continued. "Is it the treaty that mends the alliance together or is there something more to that? No. It is about trust, loyalty, and a strong relationship that the people from both kingdoms have supported each other for many years that has been given. They will stand for you, speaking up as your voice because you are their voice of hope and reason, to begin with, that could never be broken. Probably that's the reason why you are the future queen: to bring hope, loyalty, generosity, kindness, inspiration, honesty, bravery, and peace to all the kingdom of Heaven. So, there wouldn't be any darkness of despair that everyone once knew, a light that shines as a star that will shine for generations to come."
Violet left silent for a moment, slowly but softly. She smiled. "You know Keith, you're right." Violet exclaimed as she took the cloth off her arm, "It wasn't just my decision or fear of being broken for something that related to. It is a strong bond that everyone shall be equal to and have the right to stand for. Not by royalty alone, it is the strength of everyone that could be shared."
Keith nodded.
"And I shouldn't fear it if I keep it on happening to me when there is an alliance," Violet continued. "I must speak up for it instead of hiding it, so no one would be tired, worried, sick, wounded, and feared as I was. So, I must take a stand for it, not just for myself. The people too, shall not be taking that path as I have. I won't let that happen."
"So, are you going to tell them then?" Keith asked.
"Yes, they have the right to know." Violet nodded, "I can't keep it on hiding it and make them worried any further. It is for the best," Violet smiled brightly at Keith as she stands up. "Thank you for understanding what I'm going through Keith, it helps."
"Anytime," Keith scratches the back of his head. Trying to hide his blush, "For a long time that I've been friends with the Altean Princess, I have learned a lot from her and formed an alliance and helped her to end that ten-thousand-year-old war that I was in. I guess that her inspiration has paid off."
"It sure has," Violet nodded. Keith stood up.
"Let me see your arm for a bit," checking Violet's arm. "The swelling is going down," Keith spoke as he examines it. "Don't know what to do with that marks on your face, you probably need to let Dr. Albert check it out."
"That sounds like a plan," Violet spoke. "But I have to do that right after the party though."
"I understand," Keith nodded. "So…are you ready to go back into the party, so everyone won't get too worried? It is your special night after all."
"I would like to but…" Violet began to become nervous.
"But what?" Keith's left ear tilted to a side.
"Umm…before we could go back to the ballroom," Violet nervously blushed. "Can I have a dance with you?"
"W-p-p-pardon?" Keith blushed.
"I don't dance very often in the ballroom," Violet answered. "My sister always dances vary wildly on the dance floor and every suitor I have always given me the stare. Makes me nervous, so I don't dance right in front of others, and your only person who I felt comfortable with. Not just my sister and the guardians. So, can I have this dance with you? Just only this night, please?"
"Umm Violet," Keith spoke. "I-I would like to dance with you but…"
"But?" Violet raised a brow.
"I…I've never danced," Keith nervously replied.
"You never danced?" Violet's eyes widened.
"I've never danced before and I don't even know how to dance," Keith exclaimed. "Heck, I don't even know how to do the waltz. So, I might be a disappointment to you."
"No, you're not." Violet smiled with a light chuckle.
"Huh?" Keith whipped around, confusingly.
"It's quite alright," Violet put the damp cloth down and took Keith's hand. "I'll teach you."
"Umm would it upset everyone and your family about…you and me dancing?" Keith becomes more nervous.
"It won't bother me," Violet nodded. "If this does bother them, I'll tell them that I'm teaching you how to dance. So, you can do it on your own, for your future."
Keith bit his lip nervously and sighed in defeat. "Okay, that's worth a shot." Keith nervously shrugged.
"Don't worry," Violet smiled, "Within this dance, it's all in the hips and the back. Here, put your arm around me."
Keith blushed, as Violet guides his hand to Violet's side.
"And put the other under my right arm," Violet spoke gently as she guides Keith's other hand to her right side and she put her right hand on his shoulder. "Listen to the music from the ballroom."
"From out here?"
"Yes," Violet nodded. "From out here, into the royal garden. To the royal pond, towards everything that is around it."
Keith nodded as he breathed in for a moment as his galran-cat-like ears picked up the sound of music. That echoes from the ballroom to the garden.
"Do you hear it?" Violet asked.
"Yes," Keith nodded.
"Good, now." Violet began, "Before we do this move, all you must do is look at me. Don't look away or look down, don't think, don't count. Just feel, feel the rhythm of the music leading us to dance our way into the night."
Keith nodded nervously as they both began to dance slowly within the gazebo.
Inspired by: Beauty and the Beast to become "The Angel and the Galra"
At a short distance, a Spirit of the Lion appeared that resembles the Black Lion. Shimmering in the garden as it watches its champion in the distance. Slowly, humming with the tune from the ballroom.
Spirit of the Lion (Chulatt, Plachu, Plat and Chuchule):
Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Without knowing, four Altean mice appeared from hiding and decide to join in with the tune.
Just a little change (Change)
Small, to say the least
All little scared (Uh...)
Neither one prepared (ohhh...)
Angel and the Galra
Slowly, both Keith and Violet nervously disappear as smiles brightly appear on their faces.
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise (ohhh...)
Ever as before
Ever just as sure (uhh...)
As the sun will rise
Certain as the sun (Certain as the sun)
Rising in the east (uh...)
Tale as old as time (ohh...)
Song as old as rhyme
Angel and the Galra
(Ohhh... oohh...)
Spirit of Leon, Chulatt, Plachu, Plat and Chuchule:
Yea yea yea
Suddenly, the pace started to pick up as they begun to dance freely.
Spirit of Leon (Chulatt, Plachu, Plat and Chuchule):
Ever just the same (Ever just the same)
(Ever a surprise) Ever a surprise
Ever as before (Before)
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise (Rise)
As Keith and Violet are nervously slow dancing at first, suddenly they have started to pick up the pace. Move faster as they match the rhythm of the music from the ballroom. In delight, both Violet and Keith smiled brightly as they keep on dancing. "I think that I'm getting the hand of this."
"Yes," Violet smiled. "Yes, you are."
Both Violet and Keith laughed as they keep on dancing in the moonlight of night. As the Spirit of Leon purred as it and the Altean Mice continue to sing.
Tale as old as time (Old as Time)
Tune as old as song (Old as Song)
(Bittersweet and strange)
Finding you can change (Change)
Learning you were wrong (Wrong)
(Certain as the sun) Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time (Uhhh...)
Song as old as rhyme (ohhh...)
Angel and the Galra (Angel and the Galra)
Spirit of Leon, Chulatt, Plachu, Plat and Chuchule:
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Angel and the Galra
Spirit of Leon:
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Angel and the Galra
As both Keith and Violet are close in contact, they both blushed as their eyes are locked on one another.
§§§§§
The Spirit of Leon purred as the Altean mice squeak their cheer as they hurried back to the ballroom. In silence, the Spirit of Leon disappeared without a trace. Leaving Keith and Violet alone.
Within the further distance from the palace ground; within the forest, the Black Lion of Voltron is still powered down. Having its barrier up for protection from any harm that might live within the forest. Suddenly, its eyes flickered as it sensed its paladin's happiness. The Black Lion purred as it powers down once again. Waiting for its paladin to call him whenever the paladin is needed.
