What a wierd droid

Lothal

14 years since the rise of the empire

Jason entered the Ghost with Sabine's helmet in his right hand, he decided to head first towards the cockpit to talk to Hera about his decision

"Can I come in?" Jason said as Hera turn and nodded at him

"So, I'm guessing you're joining us?" The pilot of the Ghost asked, and Jason nodded

"Yes, our paths seem to be tied together," Jason said as he looked down at Sabine's helmet "And it's about time I helped in the rebellion," he said, and Hera smiled at him and saw he was carrying Sabine's helmet

"You should probably give that back to Sabine," she said pointing at the Mandalorian helmet "She's in the dining area," she said, and Jason nodded as he started to leave the cockpit

"When do we leave?" Jason asked as Hera stared at the house of Ezra

"We're waiting for Ezra," Hera said, and Jason raised an eyebrow to signal his confusion, "Kanan says that he's strong with the force, and he's certain that Ezra will join us," Hera said but Jason could see the doubt on her face

"But you have your doubts, don't you?" Jason asked and Hera nodded "Don't worry, he'll come," Jason said, and Hera looked at him in confusion

"How can you be certain?" she asked making Jason smirk

"He and Kanan already have formed a bond between padawan and master, even if they don't know it yet," Jason said as he started to head out of the cockpit "But don't tell them, I'm curious to see how things develop," he said as the door closed behind him

He walk towards the dining area and the first thing he saw when he entered was Sabine chilling on the couch

"You lost something?" Jason asked as he lifted up Sabine's helmet, she looked and sighed

"Sorry about that, but you caught me off guard," she said as Jason took a seat next to her and put the helmet on the table

"Not used to people flirting with you?" Jason asked with a smirk on his face and winced when she punched his right arm

"Shut up" She mumbles as Jason chuckled at her expression

"Hera we can go now" Sabine and Jason heard Kanan speaking through the coms of the ship and the Ghost started to fly off into hyperspace

"I guess that means the kid joins us" Sabine mused out loud and Jason nodded

"Everyone, meet up in the dining area, to sort out where Ezra and Jason will sleep," Kanan said over the coms

"I hope I don't stay with Zeb" Jason whispered but Sabine heard him

"What do you mean by that?" Sabine asked in curiosity

"Well, he's a good guy, but he's also a very brash guy, isn't he?" Jason asked sarcastically gaining a chuckle from the girl

"He's a shoot first, questions later type of guy," Sabine said chuckling "But why does that have to do with you not wanting to stay with him?" Sabine asked and Jason formed a cheeky smirk on his face

"Well darling," He said as Sabine blushed at the nickname "Those types of guys are always fun to mess with, if they put us together will be fighting by the first 3 days," Jason said and both teens chuckle

"Yeah, you're probably right," Sabine said as Jason felt the crew nearing the dining area "I guess that means you'll be stuck with me," Sabine said, and Jason let out a mocking sigh

"Well, I guess if there's no other choice," he said in a defeated tone clearly joking, and started laughing when Sabine punched his arm

"You're such an idiot," Sabine said in exasperation, and Jason chuckle

"It's all part of my charm," Jason said as the crew entered the dining area and approached the two teens

"I'm glad you decided to join us," Kanan said with a smile on his face

"Of course," Jason said also with a smile on his face "Us Jedis we got to stick together, don't you think?" Jason said as he looked towards the blue-haired kid "Hera told me that the force was strong whit him, how did you know?" Jason asked with curiosity in his voice

"I got a feeling," Kanan said gaining a chuckle from Jason "And he also open this," he said tossing a Holocron to Jason

"A Holocron huh?" Jason said as he led the force into the Holocron and levitated it into the air and open it revealing a projection of a man in brown robes

"I'm Master Obi-Wan Kenobi," The projection said as the crew paid close attention to it "I regret to report that both our Jedi council and the republic have fallen, with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place," The hologram said as Jason turn the projection off

"I got a feeling it was Master Kenobi's one," Jason whispered, and Ezra looked at him

"You also have one like this?" Ezra asked and Jason shook his head

"No, my master had one," Jason said as he stared at Kanan "How many times have you listened to it?" Jason asked and Kanan sighed before responding

"I lost count," Kanan said as Jason looked at him in pity "It was the only thing that kept me going in those days," he said, and Jason nodded

"Yeah, me too," Jason said as Kanan shake his head and brought back the conversation to a happier one

"So, enough of reminiscing," Kanan said as he put a hand on Ezra's shoulder "Guys, from now on, Ezra here and Jason will be joining our crew," Kanan said as everyone smiled at that "Now we need to figure out where they'll be sleeping," Kanan said, "There's only space in Sabine's and Zeb's room so who goes where?" Kanan said looking at Hera but before she could respond Sabine took over

"Actually," The Mandalorian said gaining everyone's attention "Jason and I were talking about that and decided that he should bunk with me," she said as Hera looked at her in surprise

"Are you sure?" The captain of the Ghost asked, and Sabine nodded

"Yeah, besides if you put him with Zeb, they'll both drive each other crazy," she said, and Jason nodded

"Our personalities don't mix well big guy," Jason said and the Lasat grumble under his breath

"Well, if you are sure, then I guess Jason stays with Sabine and Ezra with Zeb," Hera said as Ezra frowned at the thought of sharing a room with the Lasat

"So, I don't get a say in this?" Ezra asked in annoyance

"No," Kanan said "Zeb please show Ezra where he'll be staying, Sabine do the same for Jason," Kanan order "After that get some rest, it's been a long day," he said as Sabine and Jason stood up and Zeb dragged a disgruntle Ezra along

"Follow me then," Sabine said as she grabbed her helmet and head towards her room "And here we are," Sabine said as the door opened when Sabine pressed a button, and the first thing Jason noticed was the several graffiti surrounding the room

"Yeah, this is definitely your room," Jason said as he looked at the paintings in her room and stopped as he stared at a specific graffiti "You painted this?" He asked as he stared at an insignia of the rebellion in bright red

"Yeah, it was the first graffiti I did when I joined the crew," Sabine said as she looked at Jason "What do you think of it?" Sabine asked

"I have seen countless insignias of rebellions across the galaxy, but this one is different," Jason said as he stared at the insignia in amazement "I know it probably sounds crazy, but I can feel the hope and passion coming from it, you're really talented Sabine," Jason said glancing at Sabine for a moment before walking to the beds

Sabine stood there speechless at what Jason had said and didn't hear what Jason was saying

"Sorry, what did you say?" Sabine asked as Jason chuckled noticing her slip up

"I asked where can I put my stuff and where will I sleep?" Jason asked

"Right, sorry," Sabine said as she gained her focus back "You can take the one in the top, mine's the bottom one, and you can put your stuff here," She said as she pointed at a nearby crate "Although, you don't seem to have a lot of stuff," Sabine said as she notices that he wasn't carrying much

"Yeah, I left all my supplies in my ship for the wookies to use, and forgot to take out my clothes," Jason said chuckling "Not that I have a lot, to begin with, but next supplies run I'm buying some stuff," he said as he put his lightsabers and his credits on the crate

"You know, now that I think about it, we may have a few problems," Jason said as he put a hand on his chin

"What problems?" Sabine asked with a raised eyebrow and Jason sighed

"Well, for starts I sleep with my shirt off," Jason said scratching his head "I hope that's not an issue?" Jason asked and sighed in relief when he saw Sabine shaking her head

"Nah, it's fine, I'll just have to get used to it," Sabine said as she looked down at her armor "Although, I think I see the other problem, is the changing, isn't it?" Sabine asked rhetorically

"Yeah, though I have a question, do Mandalorians take off their armor?" Jason asked in curiosity "Because I know only the children of the watch don't take their helmets, but I have never heard someone see a Mandalorian without their armor" Jason said and Sabine's eyes winded

"You know about the children of the watch?" She asked in surprise, and he nodded as he took a sit on the bottom bed, and Sabine sat next to him

"Yeah, my master and I had a lot of respect for Mandalorians, he said he always think twice before fighting a Mandalorian, and if the option of not fighting them was on the table he would always take it," Jason said making Sabine smile as she heard the appreciation for her people "Besides, I would always pretend to be Tarre Vizsla whenever I played with my clan," Jason said with a chuckle

"To answer your question," Sabine said as she chuckle at the mental image of a young Jason pretending to be a Mandalorian "We only take our armor, if the mission calls for it, or when we are on a safe spot, like this ship, but out in the open? Never, weapons and armor, they're a part of us," Sabine said, and Jason nodded

"I know what you mean, I never go anywhere without my lightsabers," Jason said as he glanced at his lightsabers "But back to our issue, I think I have a solution," Jason said, "You change first and I wait outside, and then I come back inside and change, and you wait outside," Jason offered, and Sabine put a hand on her chin

"That's a good idea, but what if you're on a mission or a supply run and I'm in the room changing or vice versa?" Sabine asked in concern

"Don't worry I have an idea," Jason said as he grabbed a red tape from a nearby crate "This tape will tell us when the room is being occupied and it will be a signal not to enter until the tape's gone," Jason said

"That's actually a good idea, yeah I think we can make this work," Sabine said as she stretched her arms and yawned

"I think that signals that we should get some rest, I'm going to head out so you can change," Jason said as he stood up from the bed and headed into the hallway

The door close behind him as he dropped to the floor and took a seat, his back leaning on the door and rubbing his face to shake off his tiredness

"Thank god Sabine's pretty chill, that could've been so embarrassing, I should've stayed with Zeb," Jason thought until he heard shouting from what he guessed was the Lasat's room "On second thought, I think I'm good," Jason thought as he heard something crash in that room

He stood up and check to see if anyone was coming and started taking off his armor and robe and started taking off his boots when the door opened up, he looked up to see Sabine with a sleeveless black top and some black tight pants

"What was that sound?" Sabine asked as Jason finished taking off his boots

"Ezra and Zeb getting to know one another" Jason replied sarcastically earning a chuckle from Sabine as he entered the room and place his armor and robe on his crate and taking his tight black shirt off in the process

"It's that a tattoo?" Sabine asked in shock as she saw the drawing on Jason's right arm

"Ah, this thing?" Jason said pointing at the tattoo of the Jedi logo painted in red "I did it when I was 16 years old, cool isn't it?" Jason asked as Sabine stepped forward to appreciate it better

"Is the logo of the Jedis isn't it?" Sabine asked and Jason's eyes winded in surprise

"How do you know that?" Jason asked his voice conveying the surprise he was feeling

"Well, you pick a thing or two from living for a while with Kanan," Sabine said with a chuckle "But that's not how I know it, I admire the Jedis a lot when I was a child, even with the empire ruling the galaxy," Sabine said and Jason formed a smile on his face "Although if you don't mind me asking, why is it red and covered in flames?" Sabine asked in curiosity but regret her question when she saw the sad look on Jason's face

"It's a reminder," Jason said, "Of what I lost that day," He said in a sad tone before shaking his head to get rid of those thoughts "But enough reminiscing, the past is the past and tomorrow is a new day, we should get some rest," Jason said bumping shoulders with Sabine before jumping to the bed on top

He lay there facing upwards as he heard a shuffle on the bottom bed, he figured Sabine had got on her bed

"You know, I'm glad you decided to join us," Sabine said, and Jason raised an eyebrow

"Really, may I ask why?" Jason say as that had picked up his curiosity

"Well, I love this crew, they are like a family to me," Sabine started to say but hesitate as she didn't want to give the wrong impression

"But? Trust me I won't judge," Jason said as he noticed the hesitation in Sabine's voice

"It just that we do certain jobs and somethings always turns sour or we get scammed, and like I said I love them but it's nice getting someone with experience in," Sabine said, and Jason nodded

"Yeah, I definitely shouldn't tell about my first job then," Jason chuckled as he could practically feel the excitement coming from the girl

"What happened? Did you bust the mission completely?" Sabine asked while making fun of him

"As if," Jason scoffed "But that motherfucker sold me off, somehow he found out I was a Jedi so by the time I had returned for my payment, the empire was waiting for me there," Jason said with a frown on his face

"How did you get out?" Sabine asked in curiosity

"The guild warn me, and I avoid that planet until things chill out, the empire ended up killing that guy for false information," Jason said as he put his arms behind his back

"The guild?" Sabine asked and Jason chuckled

"Aren't we supposed to be resting?" Jason asked sarcastically

"Do you feel tired?" Sabine asked also in a sarcastic voice

"Not really," Jason said with a chuckle "The guild is sort of a protection for mercenaries and bounty hunters, a lot of us work alone and decide to take jobs from anyone, as I learned a while ago, can lead to being scammed or trapped in servitude for a long time," Jason said as he recalled a memory "Like most of Jabba's hunters," Jason said "But, while the protection is nice, that's not the reason I joined the guild," he said

"Then why?" Sabine asked in curiosity

"It was the ability to see and choose what my jobs were like and the ability to refuse any jobs from the empire," Jason said, "And that I preferred rescue missions instead of killing ones," Jason said as he rolled to his left side, to face the door leading to the hallway "And for ten percent off from my paycheck, it's not a bad deal," Jason said chuckling

"This guild, they won't do anything to you if you start going on missions with us?" Sabine asked in concern

"No, that guild master has a lot of hunters on his payroll, so it won't matter if I stopped taking jobs from him," Jason said and then chuckle a bit "Besides, that guild has a lot of freedom, you can take jobs from them if you want, but if you don't they don't care, I only did because it was the safest way to stay under the empires radio," Jason said "But that's enough about me, I want to know about you now," Jason said and Sabine chuckle at the change of topic

"We aren't getting any rest, aren't we?" Sabine asked sarcastically

"Probably not," Jason said while chuckling "Can I ask how you joined the crew?" Jason asked and Sabine sighed "If it's too hard you don't have to talk about it," Jason said, not wanting to offend Sabine

"No, it's fine, but promise something," she said, and Jason nodded

"Of course," he said, and Sabine let out a sigh

"Keep an open mind, I used to work for the empire," Sabine said, and Jason bit his gasp down "I fled, for reasons I'm not comfortable sharing just yet," she said, and Jason could understand her

"It's fine, so what happened after you fled?" Jason asked allowing her to move the story forward

They continued talking and trading stories for a while until their tiredness took over them and decided to call it a night, and went for a short nap, both excited about what the future had in store for them

Space several days later

"I fucking hate my life," Jason thought as he saw the TIE fighters coming for them as they try to shake the empire off

The ghost crew had gone on a simple mission of stealing supplies from the empire, but it all had gone sideways when they realized that there was a lot of security waiting for them and had to quickly leave the imperial ship

"I don't have a shot," Kanan said over the coms and Jason looked at the monitor in front of him

"Yeah, me neither," Jason replied as he saw the imperials ships dancing around the aiming monitor and tried to stabilize it but fell back as the ship entered hyperspace, he sighed and rubbed his face in tiredness as he walk to the ladder leading to the cockpit, he climbs up just as Kanan was entering the cockpit too

"Told you we'd get away," Kanan said with a cheeky smirk to Sabine making her frown in annoyance

"With the shipment," Sabine remarked with annoyance as Jason leaned on one of the walls of the cockpit, "You said that we'd get away with the shipment," Sabine remarked

"And is the third time this week that we've been chased by the empire," Jason remarked as he stretched his arms "Too many space chases don't do well for my health," he said as the crew nodded

"Well, either way, we're in deep trouble," Hera said as she faced Kanan "We're low on everything Kanan," Hera said

"Food," Ezra remarked

"Explosives," Sabine said with annoyance in her voice

"Credits," Jason said as Sabine looked at him with a raised eyebrow "What? I like money," Jason mumbled, and Sabine chuckles at him

"And more importantly, fuel," Hera said without looking at Kanan "Jason's right we need to make some money, otherwise we might as well put the Ghost in storage," Hera said, and Sabine looked at Jason

"Does the guild have any jobs for the taking?" Sabine asked him and the rest of the crew stared at her in confusion not knowing what the guild was

"I don't think so, we have a lot of heat coming from the empire," Jason said, "The guild will not take the risk of the empire meddling in their business," Jason said, and Sabine stared at the floor trying to think of a solution

"Well, there's always Vizago's job," Kanan said, and Zeb groan at that statement

"So, we're arms dealers again?" Zeb asked in annoyance

"More like arms re-distributors," Kanan said, and Zeb scoffed

"Come on," Zeb started protesting "We don't know what kind of weapons we're talking about," he said but his protests were ignored

"How much is he going to pay us?" Jason asked and Kanan looked at him

"500 credits for each crate we can deliver," Kanan said as Jason put a hand on his chin "And he said that there were at least 6 crates," Kanan said, and Jason whistle

"So, a potential 3,000 credit job huh?" Jason mused and then formed a smirk on his face "I'm in," he said as Ezra took over

"Me too, besides if it puts food on the table," Ezra said and then looked at Kanan "And maybe frees up some time for, I don't know, Jedi training, then I'm in," he said as Kanan chuckled and ruffle his hair as he walks to Hera

"So, you game?" he asked with a smirk at the Ghost's pilot

"Say I am, what then?" she asked him with a smirk on her face

"I already know the mission," he replied mimicking her smirk "Let's head for the spaceport," he said as Hera started to put the coordinates on the ship

Spaceport sometime later

"Now boarding Star-Commuter Shuttle ST-45 bound for Garel," Jason heard a droid call out and head towards the line to enter the shuttle, he glanced back and saw Sabine smirking at him as he entered the shuttle and took a seat in the front near the entrance in case anything happened, he quickly looks to a pad he and Sabine worked on before, that was attached to his left arm

He saw the seating chart of the shuttle and discreetly told Sabine with a hand signal to seat on the second row of the shuttle, Sabine nodded, and she and Zeb took a seat on the second row, Jason discretely turn off the pad and winced as he felt chopper stepped on his foot "Talk about method acting," Jason thought as he glared at Ezra "Hey kid, keep your android in check," he said with a glare on his face as Ezra hit chopper "Fucking droids," Jason mumbled as he saw the targets entering the shuttle

A blond woman with a grey helmet and blue dress followed by a browned-skin Aqualish, dressed in an engendering outfit "This way Mr. Wabo," The blond woman said as she lead the now named Aqualish to the front seats of the right side "We have seats on the front," she said as they took a seat

The Aqualish started to talk in his native language and the blond woman frowned as she couldn't understand her companion and sighed in frustration "Where is that translator droid?" she asked out loud as two droids entered the shuttle

The first one was a human-looking droid in bright gold color with a silver left leg, and the second one was a blue astromech

"Coming minister," The golden droid said as he walked towards the blond woman "Come along R2," The android said, and Jason could've sworn that the astromech stared at him for a moment before following the other droid

"What a weird droid," Jason thought as he stared at the blue and with droid

"Final call for Star-Commuter shuttle ST-45, bound for Garel," Jason heard the announcer say as Kanan entered the shuttle in a rush and headed to take a seat behind Ezra avoiding the crazy Chopper

"Sentients," The pilot droid said as everyone focused on it "Please prepare for takeoff," the droid said as the shuttle started to lift off into space, and Jason leaned back on his seat as the shuttle went into hyperspace

He close his eyes and pretend to fall asleep but in reality, he was using the force on his ears so he could focus on the conversation the minister was having with the aqualish Wabo, he started talking in his native language and the minister's woman turns to look at the golden android for the translation

"Amda Wabo is most honored you are joining him on Garel, minister Tua," The golden android said as the blond woman nodded "And if I might add a personal note…" the droid started saying but stopped when he was interrupted by a shout from one of the passengers

"Will you cut it out?" Ezra shouted to Chopper trying to make a scene "You have plenty of space, stop crowding me," he said pushing chopper out of the way, and then the droid blasted a stun blast at him in retaliation

"Kid, how about you take that rust bucket under control!?" Kanan asked annoyed and then filched back when Chopper threaten him

"Why don't you mind your own business?" Ezra demanded but winced as Chopper electrocuted him again

"Hey, pilot!" Kanan said making the pilot droid turn to look at him "Isn't there some rules against droids in the passenger area?" He demanded and the pilot droid looked at Ezra

"I'm sorry sir, your astromech must proceed back to the shuttle," The pilot said, and Jason opened his eyes and have to bit a chuckle when he saw Ezra trying hard to do an indignant look

"Hey, if my astromech is banished, then those two astromechs should be banished too," Ezra said pointing at the minister droids

"Astromech? Me?" The translator droid ask in indignation "I have never been so insulted," the droid scoffed

"Pilot these droids are with me, and I'm on imperial business," Minister Tua said trying to keep her droids with her

"I'm a sorry minister, but these are imperial regulations," The pilot replied with a hint of sarcasm as the minister told the droids to go to the back of the ship

"Excuse me, pilot?" Jason asked as the droid turn to look at him "How long until we arrive at Garel?" Jason asked out loud and the Ghost crew paid close attention to them

"We should arrive at Garel in 10 minutes sir," The droid replied, and Jason nodded leaning back and closing his eyes again

"I'm sorry Mr. Wabo," Minister Tua said in exasperation "But I don't understand you," she said, and Zeb introduce himself in their conversation

"Hello, excuse me," Zeb said gaining the attention of both of them "I couldn't help to notice your predicament, if it's of any help, my ward here is quite fluent in the Aqualish language," Zeb said pointing at the smirking Sabine

"Oh, I would never presume," Sabine said and Jason almost chuckle at her acting "Although, it would be a good practice for my level 5 exam in the academy," she mumble in thought, and then her eyes winded "No, no, I should not," Sabine said shaking her hand and Minister Tua smiled

"You're a level 5 academy student?" Minister Tua asked as she turn to look forward reminiscing of her times "I was too once upon a time," she said and Sabine nudged Zeb at the manipulation she had done

"Right then," Minister Tua said as Sabine leaned forward "Can you ask Mr. Wabo, where's the shipment?" Minister Tua asked, and Sabine nodded and proceeded to ask the question in Aqualish

"Well done, Sabine," Jason thought as he opened his eyes and saw the Aqualish answering Sabine's question, he stretched his arms and checked discreetly that his lightsabers were hidden

"He said bay 17," Sabine told the minister with a smile on her face that turn into a scowl when the minister looked at the pilot

"Sentients, we're approaching Garel," The pilot said grabbing the attention of the passengers "Please prepare for landing," the android said as the ship exited hyperspace and started to slow down

"Let's hope for an easy mission," Jason thought as he saw the ship heading to the spaceport in Garel and started landing on it, the shuttle came to a full stop and the doors started opening, Jason quickly stood up and headed towards the exit, he walks calmly into the hallways of the spaceport and leaned into one of the walls to wait for the crew

"You seem to be in a rush," Jason said as he saw Kanan running towards him

"I just wanted to exit there as quickly as possible," Kanan said as they looked to their left and saw Zeb and Sabine approaching

"So, where to then?" Jason asked Sabine

"Bay seven," she replied and both Jedis nodded

"Let's get going then," Kanan said as they started running towards bay seven

"You think Ezra will open the bay before we get there?" Zeb asked out loud and Jason chuckled

"I bet you 10 credits he takes at least 2 minutes after we get there," Jason said as they saw a signal saying where bay seven was

"2 minutes? You're too optimistic, I think he'll take at least five," Zeb said, and Jason smirked

"Ok then, if he takes five minutes or more, I'll owe you 10 credits, if he takes less than 5 minutes, you'll owe me the credits," Jason said, and Zeb nodded

"It's a bet then," he said as they arrived at bay 7

"Ok, I'll start the clock then," Jason said as he click his arm pad and started a chronometer "Start taking out those credits big guy," Jason said and Sabine chuckle at their banter

"Why would I take them out? After all, I'm not losing," he said and then the doors of the hangar opened and Jason laughed

"Well would you look at that, 2 minutes and 40 seconds, pay up," Jason said as Zeb grumble and threw the credits to Jason

"Wait, you bet on me?" Ezra said with a frown on his face

"Yes, and I won, thank you kid," Jason said putting a hand on his shoulders and walking towards the crates, the crew minus Kanan converged on the crates

"Let's see what we're working with," Jason said as Zeb took off the lid and winded in surprise when he saw the weapons in question

"Wow, they're T-7 ion disruptors," Sabine said as she took out one of the weapons and Jason looked at the Lasat in concern "These were banned by the senate," Sabine said as she put the weapon back into the crate

"Come one, we don't have time to waste," Jason said as he put the lit back on and started pushing the crate, he noticed the look of protest on Zeb and spoke out "Look I know, but we already started this job and the minister could come back any second, so we better get going," Jason said not waiting for a response and ran towards the ship

Jason entered the ship and with the help of Hera started loading the crates on and turned around and froze when he saw that the crew had stopped and guessed that the minister had come back

"Shit," Jason cursed as he approach Sabine, silently as possible "What's happening?" Jason asked while hiding behind the crate

"Minister Tua came back," Sabine said and Jason frowned thinking for a second

"Ok, let's keep going, slowly, and quietly while they are distracted," Jason said and Sabine nodded as she carry the crate towards the ship alongside Jason, they stopped as they heard fighting coming from behind them

"Keep going, I'll go offer a hand," Jason said as Sabine nodded, and both ran in different directions, Jason approached Ezra and turn to his right, and saw Zeb fighting the stormtroopers alone

"What the hell happened?" Jason asked getting Ezra out of his shock

"He went and started fighting them alone," Ezra said and Jason frowned

"I know you're angry, but this is definitely not the time," Jason thought as he stared at Ezra "Get these crates back to the ghost, I'll be behind you in case stormtroopers come at you," Jason said as Ezra nodded and started running towards the ship

"Specter 1, you're good!?" Jason shouted as he took cover behind the wall leading towards the Ghost

"Yeah, we got this, go to the ship specter 7," Kanan ordered and Jason nodded as he ran towards the ship, he got there and helped Ezra load the crates into the ghost and saw both the imperials' droids entering the ship, he ignores them for a moment as he saw Zeb and Kanan running towards the ship

"Specter 2, start the ship," Kanan said as the ship lift off just as Zeb was entering it, Kanan jumped, and Jason grabbed his arm lending him a hand as the ramp close behind them

"That could've gone better," Jason joked and Kanan chuckled as the ship entered hyperspace, Kanan then saw Jason glaring at Zeb and sighed

"I know Jason, we'll talk after we sell this to Vizago," Kanan said, and Jason turned to look at him

"Roger that, so what's our next move?" Jason asked as he crossed his arms and Kanan was going to respond but before he could utter a word Sabine call out

"Hey guys, check it out," Sabine said as both Jedis looked at her "Chopper made friends," she said with a chuckle as they stared at the droids that were following Minister Tua

"I'm C-3P0 and this is my counterpart R2-D2," The translator droid said as Kanan and Jason walked towards them "I was translating for Minister Tua when we were attacked by thieves…" The droid said but stopped in fear when Zeb passed by him

"Great we have company, imperial droids," Kanam said in annoyance as he stared at Sabine "Specter-5, get a couple of restraining bolts on these two" Kanan order

"Yep, on it," Sabine said walking towards her room to get the bolts and Kanan looked at Chopper and Ezra "Spectr-6, Specter-3, keep an eye on them," Kanan said pointing at his eyes "Specter-7," Kanan then said as he looked at Jason "Go and wait for me at the cockpit," he said, and Jason nodded as he walked and climb the ladder and head towards the cockpit, he entered it and took a seat next to Hera

"So, did you get grounded?" Hera asked with a smirk and Jason scoffed

"As if," Jason said crossing his arms "More like Kanan stopping me from punching Zeb," Jason said, "And before you say anything, it's not about the weapons, I know that must be hard for him, it's the fact that he went and fought those stormtroopers alone," Jason said, and Hera smirked at him

"I didn't know you care that much for him," Hera said chuckling, and Jason scratched his head

"It's just that, what's the point of being in a crew if you can't rely on them?" Jason asked rhetorically

"I couldn't have said it better myself," Kanan said entering the cockpit and walking to the front "But right now I need your focus on something else, we'll talk to Zeb after the buying with Vizago," Kanan said as he types a message to Vizago signaling where the exchange should take place

"What do you need from me?" Jason asked in curiosity

"I need your experience," Kanan said, and Jason tilted his head in curiosity "I hate to acknowledge this, but Hera and I are not great at catching when someone wants to scam us," Kanan said chuckling nervously and Jason nodded in understanding

"You want me to plan the negotiations, is that it?" Jason asked rhetorically and Hera and Kanan nodded, Jason looked back as he heard the doors of the cockpit open and saw Sabine entering and taking off her helmet

"I cuffed the droids and told Ezra and Zeb that they could rest for a while," Sabine said as she took a seat behind Jason "So, what are we discussing?" She asked as she leaned forward

"How to not get scammed by Vizago," Jason replied and look at Hera "I've only heard things about him, but never met the guy, can you describe him to me?" Jason asked her and Hera nodded

"He's your usual slimy contact, he always does what's best for business," Hera said, and Jason sighed in frustration

"Meaning at the minimal sight of a problem he would sell us out," Jason said, and Hera nodded "Great, I already don't like him," Jason mumbled and start thinking of a plan

"I was thinking," Sabine said gaining the attention of the other three crew members "We can also sell the droids to Vizago," Sabine suggested

"No," Jason said as Sabine looked at him in confusion "If what you tell me about Vizago is true, he would only have money for the crates," Jason said and the rest of the crew nodded in understanding "Besides, they are a perfect translator droid, with who knows how many languages on its system, and an Astromech in perfect shape, I know places we can make more money from them than Vizago," Jason said with a smirk on his face

"I'll deal with the negotiations, but we may need a backup just in case," Jason said as he turned to look at Sabine

"A backup plan?" Kanan asked in curiosity and Jason nodded

"With our luck, something dumb will happen and Vizago will probably try to steal a crate or two," Jason said as Kanan and Here sighed

"Yeah, that sort of thing happens to us more than we like," Hera said and then looked at Jason who was staring at Sabine with a smirk on his face "You want to blow the guns don't you?" Hera said and realization and Jason nodded

"Yep, if anything goes south, our resident explosives master here," Jason said as Sabine smirked "Will blow them up, in a safe distance, or better yet, maybe we can program them to be useless," Jason mused, and Sabine nodded

"Yeah, I think we can figure something out," Sabine said as she placed a hand on her chin thinking of ideas

"What do you think boss?" Jason asked Kanan as the older Jedi frowned in deep thought

"I'm not sure if I like the idea of going behind someone's back," Kanan said, and Jason shook his head

"We aren't, it's more like a safeguard," Jason said as he crossed his arms "And in the long run, it will teach him not to double-cross us, it's all about street cred in this universe boss," Jason said and Kanan sighed

"I see your point, what do you think?" Kanan asked Hera

"I think it's a good plan, it's devious but that's exactly what with need in this sort of dealings," Hera said and Kanan nodded

"Yeah, you're right," Kanan said and stared at the two teens "You two, see what you can do to the weapons," he said, and Jason and Sabine stood up and went down to where the crates were

"You have to give it to him," Hera said as Kanan stared at him "None of us would have thought of that," she said and Kanan nodded

"I'm curious to see how he will behave in the exchange," Kanan said "If he does a good job, maybe that could be his role from now on," Kanan said, and Hera raised an eyebrow in a questioning manner

"Someone who can keep our money safe and has enough contacts in case we need them," Kanan suggested, and Hera nodded agreeing with him

"That's a good idea, let's see how he behaves then," Hera said with a smile on her face

Back in the cargo bay, Sabine and Jason were inspecting the weapons to see what they could do with them

"So, any ideas?" Jason asked as he took one of the weapons out of the crates

"Well, most of my ideas involve a massive explosion, and I don't think that helps us," Sabine said, and Jason sighed

"There has to be a way we can overcharge the blaster at command, and at any time, but how do we do that?" Jason wondered out loud and his thoughts were interrupted by the astromech droid

"Is he talking to me?" Jason asked out loud as he felt the droid staring at him

"R2, don't harass our captors, we don't want to get killed," C-3P0 said and Jason shook his head

"Wow, I'm not going to kill you dude, don't worry about that," Jason said ad looked at the astromech droid

"R2 was it?" Jason asked and figure that the droid had nodded "Is there something you want out of me?" Jason asked and the droid beeped as Jason sighed

"Can you tell me what he said?" Jason asked the translator droid, but Sabine interrupted him

"There's no need, I understand him," Sabine said, and Jason looked at her with a raised eyebrow "You don't believe me?" Sabine asked with a smirk and Jason chuckle

"You keep getting more and more impressive each day," Jason complimented her and then focus back on their job "So, what did he say?" Jason asked Sabine

"He said that we could overcharge the blasters," Sabine started saying and Jason's eyes winded

"If we can code them, the part that reloads each blast could malfunction, making them useless if we want them," Jason mused as he grabbed a blaster and start inspecting it

"Look here," Jason said as he showed Sabine the part where the blaster reloads itself after each's shot "These blasters are very special, in terms of how to take care of them," Jason said, "If we can mess up with the amount of charging it takes after they reload," Jason said and Sabine winded as she realized what Jason was saying

"Then they won't be able to take fire," Sabine said as she grabbed a gun from the crates "But how can we code these guns?" Sabine asked in wonder

"Like this," Jason said as he took a chip, for a small compartment from the gun in his hands "You see before the senate banned them, they were heavily regulated and in case they were stolen, they could turn them off by the use of this chip," Jason said as he showed Sabine the chip "Of course, pirates and arms dealers learn a way to turn off that command, but the senate wasn't stupid, they knew that this guns could've been altered in some way," Jason said as he looked at the chip "So, they made this chip essential for the gun to work, and to keep track of them, so when arms dealers started to taking the chip off to run away from the senate," Jason said and Sabine finish for him

"They'd become useless," Sabine said as she leaned forward to look better at the chip "But we're doing this in case Vizago double-cross us, so we cant just take them out," Sabine protested

"And that's why we aren't just removing the chips," Jason said with a chuckle "You see the senate underestimated the lengths people will go to make a profit, so instead of taking the chip in its entirely, they just remove the tracker from the chip," Jason said

"Sorry if I'm not following you, but how does that help us?" Sabine asked with a frown on her face, annoyed by the fact she didn't understand what Jason was explaining

"It means that these little things," Jason said waving the chip side to side "Can be coded, we can make a virus that can be activated remotely and once it is activated, it will make this chip useless," Jason said as Sabines eyes winded

"That way, the gun will look good on the outside, but it won't work," Sabine said as Jason nodded his head

"And Vizago can't try them, or else he will bring the empire's attention to him," Jason said, "And if he double-crosses us, and try to take the guns without paying us when he sells them his street cred will be affected because of the broken guns," Jason said with a cheeky smirk on his face

"You're really devious," Sabine said, and Jason scratched his head "How did you come up with this?" She asked with a tone of amazement in her voice

"I had a similar job once," Jason said as he stared at the crates "But it was to deactivate a tracker from the empire, not make the guns useless, my client need those guns so I did what I could," Jason said

"You know, I will ask you a lot more questions later, got that?" Sabine said pointing a finger at him

"I can wait," Jason replied with a smirk on his face and then look at the crates "This is going to take a while," Jason said and then glanced to his right when he heard R2 beeping loudly

"He said he could help with the coding, that if you give him the code, he could insert it at 15 chips at a time," Sabine said as she translated what the blue astromech had said, Jason put a hand on his chin and thought for a second

"Can Chopper do that too?" Jason asked her and Sabine looked at the mentioned droid, and Chopper replied with some beeping of its own

"He said, he can code 10 chips at a time," Sabine said, and Jason nodded, turned on his arm pad, and searched for the code he had used to dismantle the imperial tracker

"Do you have a remote switch on you by any chance?" Jason asked Sabine, and she nodded throwing him a simple remote switch "Great, so I will modify this code to fit with the criteria we want, it should take a few seconds," Jason said as he sat cross-legged on the floor and Sabine mimic him sitting across of him "There I got it," Jason said as he shows the code to Sabine

"That was pretty fast, you'll have to teach me how to do that," Sabine said, and Jason tilted his head in curiosity

"You don't know how to code?" Jason asked in curiosity and Sabine shook her head

"Not really, I know of engineering but not coding," Sabine said and then frown "Can I ask, how do you know these things? I know you're a mercenary but," Sabine said trying to find the words

"You're wondering why do I know these things and Kanan does not if both of us are Jedis, is that it?" Jason asked in curiosity and Sabine nodded

"Yeah, I hope I'm not being rude or anything," Sabine said and sighed in relief when Jason shook his head

"It's alright, I'll tell you while we work on these," Jason said as he pointed at the crates "Chopper, R2, download the code from here," Jason said detaching the pad on his arm and putting it on the floor

"Let's see with how many guns were dealing with," Sabine said as they grabbed a crate and took off the lid

"I think, maybe 20, 25 guns per crate," Jason said as he looked at the inside of the crate "R2 can code 15 chips and Chopper ten, so I think we take all the guns out from the crate, we work on the chips and then when we're done, we put them back and move the crate to the right," Jason said

"Sounds like a good plan," Sabine said, and they started unloading the guns and placing them on the floor, and start removing the chips from them "So, back to my question, how do you know all of this stuff?" Sabine asked as she passed the chips to Chopper

"Well, it's the way I trained as a Jedi," Jason said as he passed the chips to R2 "Unlike Kanan who was trained in the normal way of Jedi, in the guardian path to be exactly, I was trained in the sentinel path," Jason said as he took a seat on the floor

"The sentinel path?" Sabine asked as she took a seat next to him

"Yeah, it's really a long thing to explain, but basically, this path thought Jedis how to develop and research technology, and healing methods too," Jason said as R2 passed him the chips and started putting them back on the guns "I sucked at healing, but I was quite proficient in technology, or at least that's what my master told me," Jason said as he stood up and placed the guns back on the crate

"I didn't know Jedis had different ways to teach someone," Sabine said as she helped Jason carry the crate to the right

"Well, a lot of our culture was lost thanks to the empire," Jason said as they moved to a second crate "But even before the Jedi fell, a lot of our culture was lost, only those who searched for it, knew about it, Master Yoda and Master Windu were a few who knew of it," Jason said as they unload the guns from another crate

"A lot of things were lost thanks to the empire," Sabine said with a frown on her face and Jason put a hand on her shoulder in support

"Don't tell Kanan this, but sometimes I'm glad the Jedi council fell," Jason said as Sabine's eyes winded

"Why?" She asked in shock

"Don't get me wrong, I hate that we lost a lot of us, and every day I mourn the loss of my people," Jason said with a sad look on his face "But the Jedis were quite arrogant and believed that they were untouchable and almighty, that's why if someone tries to rebuild the Jedi council, they can learn from our past mistakes," Jason said as he repeated the process from earlier

"You mean you won't try to?" Sabine said and Jason shook his head

"I don't know what my path is, but I'm sure that rebuilding the Jedi council isn't it," Jason said as he took the chips from R2 "Master Yoda once told me, stare too much at the horizon you must not, blind at the things in front of you will be," Jason said doing the best impression he could muster "So, for the time being, I'll take one day at a time," Jason said with a smile on his face and Sabine nodded

They fell into silence and work on the guns, Sabine thought of what Jason had said deeply and started thinking back about her people and family, and what could've she done differently, they were halfway done when they heard shouting and crashing form above

"They are at it again," Sabine remarked, and Jason chuckled

"They sure have a lot of energy, but I can't blame Zeb for being quite angry at the moment," Jason said as they heard Hera call Ezra into the cockpit

"Seen these guns, it probably brought some bad memories," Sabine said as they put the guns of the penultimate crate back in

"Yeah, I wonder how would I behave if a see a clone," Jason mused out loud as they grabbed the last crate and started unloading the guns and Sabine didn't comment on it as she saw the haunted look on Jason's face

They fell into silence again as they waited for the droids to code the chips, they took a seat on the floor and Jason attached the pad back to his left arm, the droids pass them the chips and they unload the guns back to the crate and put the lid back on

"And that's the finale one," Jason said with a sigh "Now, we just have to put activate the remote control," Jason mumbled as he started inserting the code into the remote "And done, we're good to go," Jason said passing the remote to Sabine

"So, if anything goes south, I just activated this, and the guns turn off?" Sabine asked and Jason nodded as he felt the ship leaving hyperspace

"Yeah, that's about it, if I give you the go, you shut them off," Jason said as he sat on top of one of the crates "And make sure that Vizago doesn't see the remote, just in case," Jason said as Sabine nodded and put her helmet on

Ezra and Zeb climbed down into the hangar as they sated at the two teens "What were you doing?" Ezra asked and Jason could feel a hint of jealousy that the kid was directing at him

"Great," Jason thought in annoyance as Sabine told him what they were doing, he looked up as he sense Kanan and Hera coming down too

"Can we discuss this later?" Kanan asked in annoyance as he climbed down

"That's fine love, but we will discuss it," Hera said with a hint of annoyance in her voice

"Love huh?" Jason thought with a smirk on his face and then he glanced down when he heard R2 beeping

"Oh right, this R2 said that his real mission was to ensure that the empire never received the guns," Sabine said, "And that his master will pay handsomely for their return," she said, and Jason put a hand on his chin

"It makes sense, he did help us with our little project," Jason remarked and Kanan frowned in thought

"I'll think about it," Kanan said and Zeb growled

"So, we're not selling the droids, but we're selling the T-7s?" Zeb asked sarcastically "We don't even know who Vizago's buyer is," Zeb remarked and Kanan's frown got deeper

"We know it's not the empire, and I already made the deal with Vizago," Kanan said crossing his arm "Jason will handle the negotiations, so let's get these crates off the ship," Kanan said as Jason drop off the crate

"Ok, let me do the talking, and no matter what I say, do not question it," Jason said and glared lightly at Zeb

Hera opened the ramp and they started unloading the crates from the ship, Jason saw a green looking humanoid with horns on his head and red eyes surrounded by big droids that were designed to carry stuff

"Ah, hello old friends," Vizago said as he approached Hera and Kanan "I'm guessing you got a good haul?" he asked sarcastically

"We did," Kanan said as he took the lit off a crate and showed him the guns, Vizago grabbed a gun and inspect it

"I can make some beautiful music with these," Vizago said as he looked at the guns and Zeb growled

"They're not that kind of instruments!" Zeb said with a glared on his face and Jason coughed to bring the attention to him

"I'm sorry about my friend here, he woke up with the left foot today," Jason said with a smirk on his face "But I have to agree with him, you can't make music with these, well not yet," Jason said as he crossed his arms

"What do you mean?" Vizago said as he glared at him and dropped the gun back on the crate

"Well, it's because they're not yours yet," Jason said with a confused looked on his face "I mean you talk as if they were yours, but you haven't paid for them, I mean nobody can be that stupid, or can they?" Jason asked Sabine and she shrugged trying hard to contain her laugh as she saw the looks of everyone in this place

"Careful how you talk to me, and these are mine, I gave you the tip!" Vizago said with a glare on his face

"Yeah, you gave us the tip, but you haven't bought them," Jason said as if was the most obvious thing "I mean, we came here because of the loyalty we have to you, but if you don't have the credits you promise Kanan, we can find another buyer," Jason said looking at his nails "Maybe Jabba The Hut will pay us handsomely for this, or we could resell them to the empire," Jason said and he could feel the glare coming from the crew but ignore them and focus on Vizago again

"You wouldn't do that, you are rebels," Vizago said "Besides that would be a death sentence, the empire will kill you if you try to sell them these again," Vizago said with a smirk on his face, but that smirk fell when he heard Jason chuckling

"Well, they might kill the rebels that stole from them, but they won't kill concerns citizens who needed money and were forced to take a job from a shitty criminal but decided to do the right thing and respect their mighty empire and return what was stolen," Jason said sarcastically "Alongside the tip of who gave us the job," Jason smirked and Vizago cursed "But we won't do that, because we are people who keep their deals, so, let's see your cred old man," Jason said with a frown on his face and Vizago glare at him

"You're good," Vizago said as he signal a droid to bring out a suitcase "Here, 500 credits for each crate, and you took 7 so there are 3500 credits there," Vizago said as Jason stepped up

"I'll be the judge of that," Jason said as he opened the suitcase and saw the gold bars of credits inside of it, he grabbed them and started counting on his head and nodded when he saw it was all there "We're good, you can start uploading them then," Jason said as he closed the suitcase and put a hand on top of it

The droids started to carry the crates into the floating ship of Vizago, and then Vizago's ears twitched, and he looked back and saw an imperial fly ship heading towards them

"You were found," Vizago said as he pushed Jason back and grabbed the suitcase "Leave the rest, we're out of here," he said as he climbed the hover ship, and put the suitcase behind him

"Hey, why are you taking our credits?" Kanan asked in annoyance and Jason stood up and dusted himself off

"Vizago, doesn't pay for incomplete jobs, and I taking this as compensation for trouble with the empire," he said with a chuckle as he started to leave but his eyes winded as he saw the suitcase float upwards and into the right hand of Jason, the red-haired mercenary just smirked and shrugged his arms as Vizago leaved

The crew was focused on the imperials, so they missed the exchange between Jason and Vizago, Jason put the suitcase and grabbed two T-7s from the crates and threw one to Kanan

"Sabine destroy the guns, everyone help her get the guns lined up, we will use them to cover our escape," Kanan said as the crew nodded

"Once we're clear activate the remote, I don't like being pushed off," Jason said to Sabine, and she nodded

"Kason and I will deal with the walkers to give you time," Kanan said, and the crew nodded, the two Jedis took cover behind some rocks and looked at each other

"On 3," Kanan said as Jason nodded "1, 2, 3!" Kanan shouted and both took a shot at each walker making them turn off and fall to the ground

Jason looked at the gun in disgust and threw it away "So uncivilized" he said as he dusted his hands and his eyes winded as he tackle Kanan away when the stormtroopers started shooting at them

"You good?" Jason said as he helped Kanan up

"Yeah, I'm good, at least we dealt with the walkers," Kanan remarked as they looked at the incoming troopers, then they loot behind in confusion as they saw the golden droid walking towards the troopers

"I'd knew some sort of help would arrive," C-3P0 said while walking towards the stormtroopers "I told R2, but he thinks so ill of stormtroopers," the android said but stopped when he saw the troopers aiming at him "Wait don't shoot, you're supposed to be here to rescue me," C-3P0 shouted as he ran back to take cover

"Chopper, ready the ship for takeoff!" Hera shouted and Jason ran towards where he had dropped the suitcase

"You Lasat!" Jason heard the commander of the empire shouted and looked at him and saw Zeb staring at him, Jason saw the commander taking out a power rifle as he grabbed the suitcase "Face me!" The commander shouted and Zeb charged forward with a scream and Jason cursed mentally, he shared a look with Kanan and the older Jedi nodded

Jason ran towards where Sabine was, just as he was finishing supercharging the guns

"Is it done?" Jason asked as Sabine put the last gun on the crate

"Yeah, one minute till the explosion," Sabine said, and Jason put the suitcase on the floor and put his hands forward, and started lifting the crates up with the force, he levitated them above the troopers and let go as the crates fell and exploded just as they dropped

Kanan and Ezra fell off from the blast of the explosion, but Jason sighed in relief as he saw that they were fine, he grabbed the suitcase and threw it back to Sabine, get the droids back to the ship, I'll stay to lend a hand," Jason said and turn to see Zeb falling to his knees, he took a step forward to help him but stopped when he saw the commander flew away into a rock

His eyes winded in surprise and turn to see Ezra with his arms pushed forward, he stood there in amazement and shook his head to gain focus back and saw Kanan shouting at him and Hera

"Get the kid out of here!" Kanan shouted and Jason and Hera nodded and grab Ezra by his arms and pushed him to the ship as Kanan carried an unconscious Zeb behind them, they approach Sabine as she was directing the droids to the ship, and she passed the suitcase to Jason as he entered the ship and they look back as Kanan carry Zeb into the ship, the ramp closed, and the ship flew into space as the team catch their breath

"Will you be, ok?" Sabine asked Zeb in concern as she took off her helmet

Zeb took a moment to catch his breath before responding "Yeah, I'll be," he said as Kanan help him up "Thanks mate, appreciate the save," Zeb said and Kanan shook his head

"It wasn't me, it was Ezra," Kanan said as they look at the blue-haired kid, they smiled at him and Kanan spoke again "And Ezra, your formal Jedi training starts tomorrow," Kanan said with a smile as Ezra smiled in excitement

"You got the remote?" Jason asked Sabine bringing their attention to him

"Yeah, do I activate it?" Sabine asked as she pull out the remote

"Boss?" Jason asked Kanan and the leader of the Ghost crew nodded

"We can't let those guns in circulation, and after what Jason said about reselling to the empire, I fear Vizago may try to do that," Kanan said, and Sabine pushed the button on the remote and turned the guns useless

"Well, that's that, but what do we do with the droids?" Ezra asked as he glanced at the extra passengers

"We returned them to their owner, the astromech said that we could be rewarded," Kanan said as the crew nodded "Besides we still need the money," Kanan said and glanced to his right when he heard Jason chuckling

"Actually, we don't," Jason said as he lifted up the briefcase "I took what was ours from our dear friend," Jason said with a grin on his face "People, I have to say it," Jason said as he put the briefcase on the floor and opened it "We're rich," Jason said as the crew stared at the golden credits with smirks on their faces
