Damn. It has been too long, hasn't it my friends?
Well, I'm back with a new chapter and I hope it's one all of you will like. Since the last chapter, we have gotten over fifty episodes of the new Digimon Adventure(2020) series and so far, it has gotten some good reviews. I need to check it out, but from what I've seen, we got a lot more Digivolutions, which I might add to this story.
But anyways, let's answer some reviews.
BanRedfox: Hahaha. Glad you hold this story so high, even though it's not my best story. Your predictions in regards to the Crests aren't that bad, but you'll have to wait and see who gets what.
RHatch89: Thanks.
GirlFish: Yeah, we're gonna get Kaiju Myotismon later on, though given how this is the FT world, it isn't THAT surprising. And this next chapter will be calming, but at the same time leave the doors opening for the story. Hope you'll like it.
Dragonninja1983: Well, those guys will appear later on in the story.
Nightlocktheawesome00: Oh yeah. Those guys were great villains, even though later seasons added more interesting and three dimensional villains.
Brayden: Well, Veemon is already Taichi's partner in this story, so Wendy won't be getting him unfortunately.
Kusanagi29: Glad you're liking the story. Hope I can keep it up.
Anime100: You're talking about E.N.D, huh? Oh yeah, they will be shocked.
Exodia3215: Thanks!
To recap: The Digimon Gomamon and Biyomon, following up on Type A's words, searched Magnolia for their destined partners. However, their search led them to Fairy Hills, where Gomamon went in after smelling something delicious. This led them into Juvia Lockser's room, where she and Levy McGarden were talking. The wizards soon met the Digimon and feeling sorry for them, allowed Gomamon and Biyomon to stay. Elsewhere, Gajeel Redfox and Pantherlily, taking a casual walk, were greeted to the sight of an injured Digimon.
Who is this Digimon and what happened to them? And what of our heroes? Let's find out...
'Warrod's house, night'
*SPLASH*
"Ahhhhh~" Sarah let out a content sigh as she sank into the hot spring, naked as the day she was born. "Wow, I needed this."
"No kidding. After everything we went through, we deserve a little break." Megan added with a smile as she felt her aching muscles heal from the hot water.
After clearing things up with the Giants, both Fairy Tail and the D-Warriors were actually given a feast as thanks for their efforts. It was then that they realized that Flare was raised by the giants and although she was initially shy to return, they reassured her that they were glad she was home, which made her cry happily. Erza and Megan tried to find Zubamon and thank him for his help, yet even with the whole group, they were unable to find him, much to their disappointment. But Team Natsu offered the D-Warriors a chance to rest at Warrod's house, which they gladly took.
So after a full day or two of walking, both groups were now resting at Warrod's private hot spring.
"It's been so long since I've been in a hot spring." Tsubaki admitted with a sigh as Akame was next to her, lowering her head into the hot water while gargling a bit in response.
"And it's perfect for my fur." Renamon added as she allowed herself to relax in the water.
"That we can agree upon." Carla called out, happy to hear someone else care about their fur.
"I do feel bad for the guys. I'm sure they would've enjoyed this." Wendy admitted with a smile.
"Oh well. More for us." Lucy shrugged off as she allowed the water to ease her nerves.
"We should rest as much as we can. Tomorrow, we will all be returning to our Guilds." Erza reminded them, though even she was too busy relaxing to care. "This is the perfect way to soothe our bodies and focus our minds."
"Amen to that, sister." Sarah called out as the girls laughed.
"Yeah… this is the best…" Floating on the water with a lazy expression was none other than Terriermon, who had his eyes closed. However, he soon rose up, revealing a smiling Guilmon carrying him with his head.
"The water tickles me." Guilmon giggled as he swam with Terriermon.
It was at this moment the girls finally recognized their presence.
"G-Guilmon! Terriermon! What the hell are you doing here?!" Megan shouted as she quickly covered her chest, as did Lucy, Tsubaki and Wendy.
"What? Can't a Mon relax in a hot spring with some girls?" Terriermon asked like it wasn't a big deal. "Besides, this side has a better view."
"Wait… THIS SIDE?!" Lucy yelped with wide eyes.
"You know we're right here, right?" Gray's voice called out from behind the rocks, making some of the girls gasp. On the other side were the males of the group, who were naked as the day they were born.
"And before you start accusing us, Warren told us there are two sides and we should use it before dinner. And we can't even see you from here." Ichigo said, though he had a hint of pink on his cheeks. No one could blame him since there were naked girls on the other side.
"I don't know why they're even complaining. We see Lucy naked all the time." Natsu said with a shrug as he leaned back against the rock.
"DON'T SAY IT SO CASUALLY!" Lucy yelled from the other side before a rock flew over the wall, hitting Natsu on the head.
"Wow. I didn't know you were THAT close." Sarah teased the blonde.
"IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" Lucy tried to defend herself, earning a laugh from Sarah.
"I-Is everything okay there, Lucy?" Flaremon called out from the boy's side. "Should I come over-?"
"NO! You stay right there…" Lucy laughed nervously. Even though Flaremon wasn't technically human, she didn't want the male Digimon to see her nude.
"This feels nice…" Agumon sighed calmly as he swam around, with Happy on his head.
"Aye. You know what makes this better?" Happy asked before he whipped out two fishes from out of nowhere, offering it to Agumon, who happily took it.
"I wonder how Robert's doing. He loves hot springs." Haru spoke up as he looked at the night sky.
"That's your Guildmaster, isn't it?" Erza questioned, having heard what Haru said.
"Yup. He's also my uncle." Megan added as she scrubbed her arm. "I'm sure he's fine all by himself. Not to mention he has Wormmon with him."
"He has a Digimon too? I guess that makes sense since all of you have one too." Wendy joined in the conversation before she looked at Carla. "Hey Carla, do you think we'll find more Digimon out there?"
"It is possible. Though given how rare they seem to be, the chances of us finding one are slim." Carla reasoned logically.
"Not to mention the ones we fought." Vex spoke up with a serious tone. Unlike the others, he didn't seem to be relaxing. Or rather, he was having a hard time relaxing.
"That's true. It's rare for us to face Tamers like them." Gaomon added, his gloves and headband removed so they wouldn't get soaked.
"Next time I see that mask guy, I'm kicking his ass." Natsu said with a confident tone, still mildly ticked that he wasn't able to beat Callum. "
"What do you think they wanted?" Lucy couldn't help but ask.
"It's possible they were focused on taking the Eternal Flame. Why they would do that is still a mystery." Vex added before he crossed his arms. "Not to mention this 'E.N.D' Atlas Flame talked about. What could it all mean?" Everyone simply stayed silent as they let Vex's words echo through their mind.
"This got heavy really fast." Terriermon commented with a frown before an idea crossed his mind. He grabbed onto Guilmon's ears before tugging them. "Mush, Guilmon!"
"OWWWW!" The red lizard yelped as he began to swim frantically in order to shake Terriermon off. However, the two ended up crashing into a large rock, causing them both to sink into the hot water. The girls all stared at the two before they started laughing at the absurdity of their actions.
"What happened? What's so funny?" Natsu asked curiously as he was tempted to climb over and see what was going on. However, Vex and Ichigo pulled him back to ensure he wouldn't do something so foolish.
"I think Guilmon and Terriermon have the right idea." Megan said with a smile. "We can worry about all of that tomorrow. Right now, we should all rest."
"She's right." Gray called out with a shrug. The others didn't find any reason to argue and simply decided to enjoy the hot spring. After a few minutes, the groups decided to get out and change in order to join Warrod for dinner. As they got closer to his house, the smell of barbecue entered their noses, making some of them drool.
"Ahh, there you all are!" Warrod called out with a big grin while standing next to a fire, which had a small grill above it while it cooked several pieces of meat. "I may not look it, but I can cook a mean barbeque!"
"So hungry…" Natsu, Haru, Agumon and Guilmon moaned before they rushed to the barbeque, filling their plates with meat before scarfing it down. The others were much more controlled as they got their meat and began eating it calmly.
"Thank you again for allowing us to bathe." Erza thanked the Wizard Saint with a smile, making him laugh.
"It's the least I can do after all of you accepted my request." Warrod answered with a laugh before he offered a steak towards Flaremon. "Now eat up, Natsu Dragneel! I heard you were a big fan of meat!"
"Ummm, t-thank you. But the real Natsu is-MMMMHHHHH!" Before Flaremon could finish, Warrod shoved the steak into his mouth.
"No talk! Eat!" Warrod continued to laugh as he rocked Flaremon back and forth, much to the Digimon's embarrassment.
"You know, I expected a Wizard Saint to be more… professional." Vex admitted with a sweatdrop.
"Then again, he does look very old compared to someone like Robert." Gaomon interjected as he ate a heated potato.
"Still, he was willing to let us stay here for the night. The least we can do is enjoy ourselves." Megan informed them with a smile.
"So Lucy, I have a question." Sarah started, getting the blonde's attention. "Since you and Flaremon are now partners, have you thought of training with the D-Warriors for a bit?"
"Me and Flaremon?" Lucy asked, surprised by the offer. Come to think of it, she didn't REALLY think about how she was going to take care of Flaremon whenever she was on a job. Not to mention how much it would cost to feed him and ensure the landlady didn't find him. "Honestly, I never thought about it."
"Well, if you'd like, you could come back with us. I'm sure master Robert wouldn't mind letting another person train with us." Tsubaki offered kindly.
"You really think so? Well… that wouldn't be a bad idea." Lucy thought out loud, though from her tone, she still seemed undecided.
"Man, you really can make a good barbeque!" Natsu commented as he gobbled up another piece of meat. "Agumon, how's your meat?"
"Really good! Even if it isn't fish, it tastes great!" Agumon said with a gleeful tone as he ate the last piece of his meat.
"Want some more barbeque?" A plate of meat was offered to Agumon.
"Yes please!" Agumon grabbed another piece of meat and started to eat it. However, he stopped when he heard the unfamiliar voice, causing him to turn to the person who offered him the food. "Wait…"
"Hi there!" The one who gave Agumon the meat was none other than Veemon, who had a smile on his face.
"Woah! Another Digimon!" Happy called out loudly, catching everyone's attention as they looked at Veemon.
"Holy moly! When did Warrod have a Digimon?!" Terriermon shouted in shock.
"Hahahaha! Don't fret, my friends!" Warrod laughed off their worries as he put a hand on Veemon's head. "Veemon here is an old friend of mine back in the day. He and Taichi are just visiting."
"Nice to meet ya!" Veemon greeted them with a big smile.
"Taichi?" The group asked at the same time.
"And wait… YOU KNOW ABOUT DIGIMON?!" Lucy called out upon realizing how Warrod was acting with Veemon.
"Of course I know about them! What, you think I couldn't tell the difference between the Salamander and a Digimon? I'm not THAT crazy!" Warrod said with a laugh before he took out a watering pot and drank it, earning sweatdrops from everyone.
'When you drink water like that, can you blame us?' Some of the group thought while the others just watched.
"Taichi! What are you waiting for, my boy?! Come out and say hello!" Warrod shouted suddenly at a nearby tree. A moment later, a figure walked away from the tree, revealing it to be Taichi. He looked rather indifferent as he made his way to the group, a hand in his pocket.
"Hey." Taichi simply replied with a seemingly uncaring tone.
"Well, he's charming." Renamon commented with a sarcastic tone.
"Taichi, don't be like that." Veemon told him with a frown. He understood why Taichi was acting like this, especially after hearing about… Mavis. Still, he could stand to at least PRETEND to be happy.
*Smack*
Much to everyone's surprise, Warrod handchopped Taichi hard on the head, causing him to wheeze in surprise.
"OWWWW!" Taichi dropped his moody phase and galred at Warrod while holding his new lump. "Warrod, what the heck was that all about?!
"Shame on you, Taichi!" Warrod scolded him with a disapproving frown. "Didn't your elders teach you any manners?! That's not how you speak to new people!"
"Well SORRY if I don't feel like talking to them!"
"It never hurts to be polite!"
The group blinked in confusion as they saw Warrod and Taichi get into an argument about proper edicate, which is something they didn't expect.
"I'm confused, Harumon." Guilmon whispered to Haru.
"You and me both, pal." Haru whispered back, just as confused as his Digimon was.
"Okay, okay!" Taichi seemed to finally relent as he turned towards the group and bowed his head. "I'm sorry for the way I talked. Can you forgive me?"
"That's better." Warrod laughed as he patted Taichi's back, only for him to fall on the ground. "Oops. Sorry."
"Warrod, sir. With all due respect, I have a question for Taichi." Vex called out, getting the Wizard Saint and his friend's attention. "How long have you had a Digimon?"
"Hmmm… I guess since I was a kid." Taichi answered with his arms crossed while thinking. "I was about ten years old. Why ask?"
"Have you heard of a Guild called D-Warriors?" Megan added to the conversation.
"Not really. Why?" Taichi questioned with a raised brow.
"Nothing. I was just curious." Megan replied, though the look on her face said she had more to say at the moment. But now was not the time and place for it.
"Anyways, I think we should all have a toast to a successful mission." Warrod took out a tray of drinks in barrel-like mugs, handing one to each of the gang. "Cheers!"
"Cheers!" Everyone hit their mugs against each other before taking a swig of their drinks… only for all of their faces to pucker up due to the very sour taste. "It is good for relieving stress, but it's a little sour."
"You think?!" Terriermon shouted, tears slowly running down his eyes.
"I tasted better food from the sewer." Natsu added as he looked at his drink.
"Not even Digitamamon would be able to fix something like this." Sarah blurted out as she knocked on her chest to make sure the drink went down properly.
"You knew they wouldn't like it, did you?" Taichi asked Warrod with a suspicious look, only to get a smile and thumbs up from the older man. 'That doesn't help!'
"I like it!" Much to everyone's surprise, Veemon was drinking the tea without a care in the world. It seemed like he had the stomach to actually enjoy the tea. "Can I have a little more, please?"
"Of course, old friend!" Warrod laughed loudly before he calmed down, giving the group a look of nostalgia. "Spending time with young guildmates like you can be a wonderful experience. I must admit I'm feeling nostalgic."
"That's sweet, but since when are we Guildmates? I mean half of us are from one guild while the other half are with another." Lucy pointed out, confused by what Warrod said.
"Oh, that's cause Warrod was a part of Fairy Tail." Veemon stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"That would make sense." Akame said as she tried drinking her tea with the others… only for them to slowly stop and widen their eyes.
"It seems Makarov didn't tell you about me, did he?" Warrod asked with a smile before he pulled his left sleeve, revealing a dark green Fairy Tail emblem. "I was a part of Fairy tail since the beginning, alongside Mavis and the other founding members! You can even say I'm your senior!"
"SAY WWWWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT?!" Natsu, Happy and Agumon shouted while the others looked in pure shock. They knew Warrod being a Wizard Saint already meant he was a big deal, but for him to actually BE a founding member of Fairy Tail? That was unexpected.
"W-Well, this was a surprise." Tsubaki was the first to speak with a nervous laugh.
"Agreed. And according to what he said, then sir Warrod would be as old as the founder of Fairy Tail." Falcomon concluded after doing some mental math.
"This is crazy! Not only are we talking to a Wizard Saint, but an ACTUAL founding member of Fairy Tail!" Haru yelled with stars in his eyes before he reached into his pocket, putting out a pen and offering it to Warrod at surprising speed. "Can I have your autograph?!"
"Easy, tiger." Ichigo pulled Haru away, though he remained shocked by the reveal.
"Now that I think about it, master Makarov did tell us to behave when he read the request." Lucy admitted out loud. "I was wondering why he was so tense when he's a Wizard Saint too."
"So he's more important than what we thought?" Flamemon whispered to the Exceeds, still trying to come into grips about what was happening.
"Very." Carla told him, making him nod.
"I was only telling you the truth." Warrod admitted, making Gray groan at this considering how many times Warrod had lied.
"That would explain why you requested Natsu and Gray by name." Erza realized with a smile.
"Of course! As soon as all of you came to my old tree, I knew you were my companions." Warrod told them as he directed his attention towards Flamemon. "Especially you, my little friend."
"Oh… sorry for tricking you." Flamemon apologized, only for Warrod to shake it off.
"Don't be. The fact you were all still willing to help an old tree like me is more than enough." Warrod replied with a reassuring tone. "Meeting the new generation of young wizards, both from my guild and from another, is inspiring. I can tell all of you are strong and one day, I know you will all surpass even Mavis." This caused everyone to smile, gratefully by the encouraging words Warrod had used. Even Taichi couldn't hide the small smile on his face.
'Sounds like something Mavis would say.' Taichi thought in nostalgia and sadness.
"Mavis had a dream. Family is not bound by only blood, but by the bonds their souls share. That is the essence of the Fairy Tail guild. The foundation she laid for our guild is so strong, her spirit lives on in your hearts. I don't say this because you completed the job, but because I could feel it in your very souls." Warrod then gave a slightly bigger smile as he continued. "Mavis once told me "comrade is more than just a word. A comrade lives in your heart. Someone you can trust unconditionally.""
"Jeez, man. You really know how to make a Mon cry." Terriermon, as well as some of the others, wiped their eyes, getting rid of the tears that would have fallen.
"Hang on, if you're a founder…" Natsu got up in Warrod's face with a serious expression. "Then you're more gramps than Gramps is!"
"Natsu, that's enough." Erza pulled his scarf to get him away from Warrod, only for the Dragon Slayer to shrug her off.
"If he's that old, then he might know about the demon uncle told us about." Natsu reasoned before he looked back at Warrod. "Tell me. Do you know about a demon named E.N.D?"
"E.N.D?" Warrod repeated with a serious tone, staring straight into Natsu's eyes. Taichi and Veemon both looked confused as to what E.N.D was, but they simply kept quiet and listened in. "Tell me more."
"Apparently, he's from the book of Zeref." Natsu started to explain. "My old man Igneel tried killing him a while ago, but he couldn't."
"Zeref…" Taichi whispered under his breath, unconsciously clenching his fist at the mention of that guy. Veemon gave him a concerned look while Renamon, who had noticed this, gave them a suspicious look.
"I haven't heard that name in a tree's age." Warrod walked past Natsu and Erza.
"I've been trying to find Igneel for a long time and I was hoping that if I could find E.N.D, it would lead me to him." Natsu added.
"Atlas Flame told us the history between Igneel and the demon." Wendy added to clarify.
"Sorry to say, but I don't know anything about E.N.D." Warrod said, much to the disappointment of everyone. "However, there might be a connection between this E.N.D character and Tartaros."
"Tartaros?" Some of the D-Warriors reacted.
"So you know about them?" Gray questioned with a raised brow.
"I can explain." Warrod began while looking at the stars. "They're an eerie group of wizards, bound by secrecy. No one knows how many wizards they have or where their Guild is even located. But I've heard stories from those who claim they have stumbled upon their gatherings. And all of them came to the exact conclusion." He then turned back to the others and gave them a look that screamed "listen closely." "That Tartaros rituals are for worshipping demons."
This caused everyone to collectively gasp in horror. However, none were as shocked as Gray, whose eyes were widened and a cold sweat ran down his cheek.
"I don't know for certain, but the four emperors of Ishgar have a grieving suspicion." Warrod said with a sigh. "We believe Tartaros may be in possession of a demon from the book of Zeref."
"You're kidding!" Lucy called out in shock.
"There's no way a Guild would be able to have something like a demon with them. That can't be true." Sarah spoke up with a frightened tone.
"If that's true, then that might be the demon we're looking for!" Happy shouted out in realization.
"Think that tusk bastard we fought was connected to Tartaros?" Ichigo asked Vex, recalling their encounter with Doriate.
"Perhaps. He did mention that his mission was almost done." Vex cupped his chin in thought, trying to think about how this was all connected.
"Dammit… this sucks." Natsu growled as he clenched his fists before he let out an angry roar, surprising everyone. He then turned around and punched the nearest thing he could find to vent out his frustration. "We can't do anything about it! We don't even know where they are!" Unbeknownst to Natsu, everyone started staring at him with comedic wide eyes, with Terriermon, Guilmon, Falcomon, Agumon and even Gaomon slowly backing away. Flamemon and the Pawnchessmon simply chose to hide behind their partners while Renamon just closed her eyes. "As soon as I get my hands on one of those freaks, I'll thrash them around until they tell me everything!" Taichi facepalmed while Veemon flinched at each punch Natsu was making and even Warrod was giving a nervous smile. "TARTAROS WON'T KNOW WHAT HIT THEM!" And with that final declaration, Natsu punched his 'punching bag' with one more hard strike, finally ending his frustration.
"Ummm… N-Natsu?" Gray called out with a stutter. "Look down."
"Huh?" Natsu asked as he glanced at the others. He noticed them all looking at him with horrified gazes. And he realized something.
Erza wasn't with them.
Erza wasn't there…
And he was punching something…
Something soft and… red…
Something soft and red and… pissed?
Blinking his eyes, Natsu looked down and slowly widened his eyes.
The thing, or rather PERSON, Natsu was punching… was Erza Scarlet.
"Oooohhhh?" Erza let out a small, but VERY pissed off sigh as she looked at Natsu from the ground, multiple bumps on her head and the ground was crushed, symbolizing that she was gripping it out of anger.
The only thing Natsu could do was smile. A very nervous smile. A very nervous smile with swirly eyes and buckets of sweat running down his head.
It was at this moment Natsu Dragneel realized…
He screwed up.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
At this moment, The D-Warriors and Taichi learned a very important lesson.
NEVER PISS OFF ERZA SCARLET.
'Unknown location'
Things were quiet in the large castle. Even though most of the time the castle was somewhat dark, the darkness of night made it feel almost nightmarish. However, those who resided within the castle were used to the darkness hence why the Master was enjoying a simple stroll through one of the many hallways, a calm expression on his face.
However, he stopped walking all of a sudden, as if something caught his eye.
"Are you going to continue watching me, or do you have something to say?" The Master asked without turning his head. A moment later, a low chuckle echoed through the hallway as the shadows slowly began to take shape. Soon, Myotismon emerged behind the Master, his fangy smile evident on his face.
"Apologise. I was merely testing you to see if you hadn't slacked off in your training." Myotismon said with an 'honest' tone. Regardless, the Master let out a small laugh, amused by Myostismon's lie. Without saying a word, the Master slowly raised his right hand as dark green and blue magic started to form around it. In the blink of an eye, the Master launched it towards Myotismon, who titled his head to dodge, allowing the magic attack to hit the wall and absorb the space until there was nothing but a large hole.
"Oh my. My hand must have slipped." The Master said while looking at Myotismon with a calm smile. "Now what was it you wanted to tell me? I do want to go to sleep."
"Of course." Myotismon gave a short bow before he and the Master began to walk through the hallway. "As Callum and Yuuki explained earlier, we not only lost our chance at obtaining the Eternal Flame, but we lost my younger brother as well."
"You have my sympathy. Family is… very important." The Master said to the Digimon with a surprisingly sympathetic tone.
"Don't bother." Myotismon replied with a scoff. "Devimon was, and always will be, a disappointment. If he couldn't even Digivolve by himself, like I did, then he wouldn't have lost to some Digi Tamers." Judging by his tone, it was clear that Myotismon had no pity for Devimon's destruction. "But ignoring that, I think I have a proposition."
"And this can't wait until tomorrow?" The Master questioned with a raised brow, curious to hear what Myotismon wanted to say.
"With your permission, of course, I would like to start a little project." Myotismon stated, emphasizing the word "little." "Project: Nightmare."
This caused the Master to stop in his tracks, something Myotismon noticed.
"Project: Nightmare? Haven't we talked about this before?" The Master asked, his tone being rather stern.
"Yes yes. We've talked about it before." Myotismon replied, unable to stop his eyes from rolling. "However, even you must see that the progress of our mission is too slow. We need to act."
"Do you realize how many people will be affected? SHE could be affected." The Master's eyes suddenly began to glow green as an intense aura began to surround him. "If Project: Nightmare drags her into this, then you WILL-"
"Of course. I know you wouldn't want your little human to be caught." Myotismon reasoned. "But if we all work together on it, we can ensure she won't be caught."
"Myotismon, I've known you for years. You're a sadistic, merciless, cold-hearted Digimon with no regard for any human life." The Master stated matter-of-factly. "If Project: Nightmare is as large as you theorize it is, then chances of her being caught in the middle are high."
"Honestly, you humans and your attachments. They sicken me." Myotismon shot back with an annoyed frown. "If she's that important to you, why not take her away?" This seemed to cause a change in the Master as he lowered his aura, turning his head towards one of the large windows next to them.
"Because even if I took her, she wouldn't accept me. My brother's teachings corrupted her, made her see the world in black and white. I don't want to force her away…" The Master admitted with a sad tone as he stared at one of the dark clouds outside. Myotismon did his best to hold in the disgusted groan from escaping his lips.
However, an idea appeared in his mind as he smirked.
"Then give me a chance to change her mind." Myotismon offered, getting the Master's attention.
"Go on." The Master asked with a serious tone.
"Well as you said, because of your brother corrupting her mind, she would never willingly come to our side." Myotismon started to explain, raising a finger. "But if I were to show her how things truly were, then perhaps she would be more than willing to reunite with her father."
"And how would you do that, per say?" The Master questioned suspiciously.
"Simple…" Myotismon gave a sharp smirk. "I'll kill everyone she holds dear. Sorrow is a powerful tool that should be exploited. And if she struggles, perhaps losing a limb wou-"
*BOOM*
Myotismon was unable to finish as an invisible force suddenly sent him flying, crashing into the wall with a pain filled gasp.
"If you even attempt to hurt MY daughter…" The Master extended his arm, magic emitting from his hand as he gave Myotismon the most heated glare he had ever witnessed. He was not above torture, but attempting to do something to someone he loved was too far and he would murder anyone who attempts to touch his daughter. "I WILL RIP YOU APART UNTIL THERE IS NOTHING… LEFT."
"Point… taken…" Myotismon blurted out, gritting his teeth as he felt the Master's magic push him deeper into the wall. Seeing his threat getting through to the vampiric Digimon, the Master let out a sigh as he stopped his spell, allowing Myotismon to free himself.
"But… you have a point." The Master finally relented with a sigh. "Project: Nightmare would allow us to gather enough magic to further evolve our troops. However, my daughter is not to be affected. Understood?"
"Yes." Myotismon nodded in response, cleaning himself off.
"Good. I will inform everyone tomorrow. Hopefully, Callum and Yuuki will have recovered enough to listen." The Master then began to walk away. But not before he looked back at Myotismon. "And I do apologize for attacking you. It was… unprofessional of me."
"None taken." Myotismon waved off with an uncaring tone, getting a nod from the Master before he left to his quarters. Once he was gone, Myotismon dropped his facade and spat on the floor. "Foolish human. Who does he think he is?"
"That looked like it hurt. Are you okay?" A sly, female voice called out from above, making Myotismon scoff a bit.
"Come out here, Gatomon." Myotismon commanded, not in the mood to joke around. Soon, a small figure leaped from the ceiling, landing next to him rather gracefully. The new speaker was a small, white cat-like Digimon who looked to be shorter than two feet. She had blue cat eyes, long years with tufts of purple hair on the tips, multiple purple strips along her thin tail, large lime and red striped gloves with black claws sticking out and a gold ring with strange writing on it. Gatomon walked over to her master with a smirk. "How long were you watching?"
"The whole time." Gatomon said without any hesitation as she put her paws behind her back. "So, Project: Nightmare, huh? Never thought I would hear about that again. What was it, five years since you thought of it? Never thought that human would agree to that after all this time."
"Humans can be easily persuaded if something they hold precious is threatened." Myotismon said as he cracked his neck. "You know what I want you to do, right?"
"Yeah, yeah." Gatomon waved her paw as she walked past Myotismon. "You want me to find that human and kill her?"
"No." Myotismon spoke up, catching the white cat Digimon's attention. "These "D-Warriors" are interesting. I want you to spy on them. Learn everything about them and any other Tamers that are associated with them. The more we know, the more test subjects we'll have. However, if you do find an opening to ending their lives… I wouldn't mind."
"And if I "accidentally" kill the girl?" Gatomon questioned with a raised brow. She was down to stuff and even kill if necessary, but if they got on the Master's bad side, then it could cost them a lot. And she wasn't going to get killed just cause Myotismon felt cocky.
"You won't." Myotismon reasoned. "As long as you know who the girl is, you won't attack her. And if you do, little cat…" Myotismon's eyes began to glow as he gave Gatomon a glare, making her flinch a bit. "Then we're going to have to punish you again. And we both know how much you hate that." Even with the intimidating look she was getting, Gatomon gave Myotismon a fierce glare, something that annoyed him greatly. "Those eyes…" Letting out an annoyed scoff, Myotismon decided to drop everything and disappear into the shadows, leaving Gatomon all alone in the hallway.
"Bastard…"
'Warrod's house, the next morning'
"Thank you all again for completing the job." Warrod said to everyone with a cheerful smile as they all stood in front of his house. Both the Fairy Tail and D-Warriors members had their things packed up, ready to go back to their respective guilds. However, they felt that Warrod, Taichi and Veemon at least deserved a proper goodbye. Though surprisingly, Taichi seemed to be oversleeping and Warrod assured them that he would tell him their farewell. "I have your reward right here."
"Please, there's no need." Erza assured him with a smile. "Simply meeting you is enough of a reward."
"Ummm, she doesn't speak for all of us." Lucy called out, not wanting to pass up the chance to get pay, especially by someone as important as Warrod.
"Please! It's the least I can do!" Warrod took out several bags, handing one to each Fairy Tail member. "And I even have some for you six as well!" He then took out six more bags, ready to offer them to the D-Warriors.
"Sir, there's no need. We only went to Sun Village for our own personal reasons." Megan tried to counter Warrod, only for him to place a bag in her hand.
"Nonsense! You still helped fight against those bandits and freed the Eternal Flame! That more than earns you the right to a reward!" Warrod reasoned as he gave the remaining humans of the D-Warriors a bag.
"Well, it is a gift from a Wizard Saint." Sarah shrugged as she and the others started opening their bags to see what their reward was… only to sweatdrop.
"The hell's this?" Gray asked as he took out several seeds from his bag.
"Why, they're seeds, of course! For gardening!" Warrod explained with a laugh. "Money is important for certain things, but growing your own food is more important! I'm sure you'll all enjoy growing all kinds of vegetables!"
"... He's kidding, right?" Ichigo questioned, not sure whether or not Warrod was just joking around again.
"I don't know. This could be good for the Guild. And I'm sure Digitamamon would love to have some fresh vegetables." Haru said as he looked at his seeds with a smile.
"I wish it was meat…" Akame muttered under her breath as Tsubaki patted her on the back.
"So no money?" Terriermon groaned in disappointment,, only for Gaomon to knock his head for saying something rude.
"Still, I am glad to have met all of you." Warrod spoke up with a gentle smile. "I wish you all the best in your adventures."
"Thank you." Regardless of the surprising reward, everyone gave Warrod a bow, grateful that he was willing to let them stay the night. With that, the two groups began to leave Warrod's house, with some of them giving him some waves of goodbye.
"So Natsu, are you going to come with us? We could still do more Digimon training." Vex offered the Dragon Slayer before he turned towards Lucy. "And I'm sure Robert wouldn't mind letting you join us too, Lucy."
"I still need a little time to think about it. But I'll let you know soon." Lucy assured them, though she was willing to learn from them.
"Yeah. I kinda wanna see how everyone back at the Guild is. Is it okay if I come back later?" Natsu asked, getting nods from the D-Warriors.
"And we can visit, right?" Wendy asked them innocently.
"Yeah! The more friends, the better!" Guilmon called out with a smile, not seeing a problem with letting more friends hang out with them.
"Who knows? Maybe the rest of you will get Digimon by the time we meet up again. That'd be nice." Sarah jokingly said. Soon, both groups reached the fork in the room, each way leading to their Guilds.
"Have a nice trip. All of you. I hope we meet again soon." Erza told the D-Warriors as she offered them a handshake, with Megan shaking it.
"You too. We might visit soon. Hopefully, we can bring my uncle. He's been a fan." Megan told her with a smile. Soon, both groups went their separate ways, ready to return home after a hard fought battle.
"They left?" Veemon asked Warrod as he left the house, having watched the two groups leave.
"Yes. I'm sure they have more adventures to go on." Warrod said to the little Digimon with a fond tone before he heard the door to his house open again, revealing it to be Taichi. "They're gone."
"I know, I know." Taichi responded with a frown as he stood next to Warrod and Veemon, wearing a large pack on his back. Something Warrod noticed.
"And you plan on leaving so soon?" Warrod questioned rhetorically.
"Yeah…" Taichi let out a sigh as he rubbed the back of his head. "Look Warrod… I'm sorry for acting like an ass. It's just… hearing about Mavis and the others hurt. Then again, it must have hurt more for you."
"Losing someone important to you is hard. But learning to live on is the best way to honor their memory." Warrod quoted sagely with a hand behind his back. "Though, I'm surprised you didn't tell them about your relationship with Fairy Tail."
"Come on. You really think they'd believe that me and Veemon were founding members, even when we look young?" Taichi asked with a raised brow.
"Why not? Maybe they'd understand." Veemon commented with a shrug, getting a look from his partner. "I'm just saying."
"But anyways, I think I'm gonna travel around for a bit. Learn how much things have changed. And maybe… go back to the Guild." Taichi explained his plans, making Warrod smile. "I'm not trying to leave you alone again."
"Tai, Veemon." Warrod turned to them, placing a hand on their shoulders while sporting a genuine smile. "Both of you have the same adventurous spirit Mavis had. How could I honor our friend if I kept you cooped up in my house? No. I'm sure if Mavis was here, she'd tell you to get off your butts and explore the world."
"Yeah… sounds like something she'd say." Taichi wiped his eyes before anyone could see him cry. He was a prideful guy after all, so crying in front of people wasn't his style. "You don't think… we'd run into Blackagumon again, do you?"
"Honestly, I can't say." Warrod confessed with a sigh. "But who knows? The world is full of mysteries. Perhaps he's still alive, wandering the world to find us."
"And if we find him, we'll bring him back!" Veemon declared with a determined tone. Warrod and Taichi simply chuckled at the little Digimon's antics before they shook hands.
"Good luck, my friend." Warrod told Taichi.
"Right. Don't worry. We've grown up." Taichi replied with a somewhat confident tone.
"Yeah. Sure you have." Warrod rolled his eyes in amusement as the three laughed. Soon, Taichi and Veemon began to walk away from Warrod's home.
Warrod simply stood in front of his house with a warm smile.
The new generation was definitely interesting. He had high hopes for them.
God, what a pain to write. I'm writing this at 10 at night and it is hard. Still, I'm glad to actually be back with this story. Man, it was so fun to write this story due to my love of Fairy Tail and Digimon.
As you can see, this chapter was all about setting up the next arc, the Myotismon arc. Trust me when I say this arc will be rather dark, which is kinda fitting since it is October. And we do learn a bit about the Master. I will develop his character more in the future, so expect a lot from him.
As for Taichi and Veemon, they will appear later on in this arc, but I felt they needed to hide who they were to not bring up questions. Don't worry. I won't have this plot hole unresolved. It will just take some time. The next chapter will have some action and we will see more of Gomamon, Biyomon and Monodramon. That much I can promise.
