Chapter 32: Healing Hearts ~ Forgiveness
While De' Montrae is escorted to Medical Wing, the Healers are working hard as they can heal De' Montrae before something went wrong. Outside of the Medical Wing, the young woman and De' Montrae's parents are waiting for one of the healers or Dr. Albert to come out and be able to tell them to news about De' Montrae. While waiting, they heard footsteps to their left. They turn and see Keith and Violet standing with worry written all over their faces. "Lord Butch, Lady Lavender," Violet spoke. "Forgive us for startling you."
"There's no need your highness," Lavender spoken
"Actually," Butch spoke. "It should be us who needs to apologize," Butch stood up.
"You don't have to apologize, sir," Violet spoke politely.
"No offense your highness," Butch shook his head. "But I was talking to the Galran half-breed."
"Uh?" Violet turned to Keith.
"Huh?" Keith jumped, "You mean...me, sir?"
"Yes, you." Butch nodded, "I need to apologize for being such a fool, blaming you for hurting my son. Not knowing that one of my blood should have turned against us. I'm sorry for not believing in you."
"It's alright, Lord Butch." Keith spoke, "I forgive you, and I too apologized for nearly growling at you. I just got a little defensive and overprotective."
"I understand," Butch nodded as he lightly smiled. "And thank you."
"We all are," Lavender spoke with a small smile.
Violet smiled as she nodded.
"By the meantime," Butch spoke. "Please excuse me, I have another matter to attend to."
"Alright, Lord Butch." Violet spoke, "Wish you a blessing of the Lord and have a blissful night."
"You too, your highness." Butch left. Leaving his wife, the young woman, Violet, and Keith alone in the hallway.
While Butch has left the hallway, Violet turned to Lavender and the young woman that is sitting right next to her. Both Violet and Keith have finally got the chance to fully examine her. The young woman seems to be Asian; her hair is bright hazel with black, bright blue eyes and she is around De' Montrae's age. She wears a light pink dress, with a flow of cherry blossoms to present the light colors of spring. Around her waist is a light snow veil that is tied to a bow at her side. On her face, she too wears light make-up; light pink lip gloss that smells like strawberries, golden brown eyeliner, light black mascara, and pink and white eye shadow. The young woman's hair is up in a floral braid and pinned with a golden cherry blossom hair clip. On her left ring left, there is a golden and diamond ring. Curiously, Violet approached the woman. "Forgive me," Violet spoke. "I never introduced myself, I am Violet. Princess of Heaven, and may I ask your name."
"My name is Miya," the young woman began. "I'm..." suddenly, the door to the Medical Wing opened. Everyone turned, seeing Dr. Albert coming out. Dressed in his surgical clothing, he is taking his gloves and mask as he approaches the group.
"The bleeding has finally stopped," Dr. Albert spoke. "And his back is disabled while he was...umm..."
"Dr. Alert," Lavender spoke. "My son is he..."
"You may enter," Dr. Albert wave a hand to the left. A door opened with a name chalked to the board. Lavender, Miya, Lavender, and Keith headed to do. Waiting to see what is within the room.
As the group approached the door, they stepped into the room. Seeing De' Montrae, sleeping peacefully with wires checking his heart rate and tube of air and fluid to keep him stable. "He's going to live," Dr. Albert spoke. "But it will take time for us to heal him properly, however, at this rate. He will never fly again, I'm sorry. It's too risky to put it back together. He's been separated from his wings too long; it would be impossible to reconnect."
"But...is he still...?" Keith asked in wonder.
"He's still a Celestial Being," Dr. Albert answered. "But wingless to fly, he still has his powers. But not the power of flight anymore."
Keith nodded as he understood.
"Oh, De' Montrae," Miya went to De' Montrae's side. Holding his hand, gently.
"I better get back," Dr. Albert spoke. "I'll let you know when my team would heal him, soon."
"Thank you, Dr. Albert." Violet smiled.
Dr. Albert bowed and he went back to his office.
As Dr. Albert went to his office, Violet and Keith entered the room. Lavender and Miya are at De' Montrae's bed side. Worryingly. Violet nearly shed a tear but Keith's presence comfort her before she could. Suddenly, a moan has broken the silence.
Everyone gasped as they turned to De' Montrae, slowly waking up. As De' Montrae woke up, he slowly turned his head from side to side so he could look around his surroundings.
"...mother..." De' Montrae whispered, "...Miya..."
"Oh, my boy," Lavender smiled. "You wake at last."
"...huh...?" De' Montrae groaned groggily, "...w-what do you...?"
"De' Montrae," Keith spoke. De' Montrae turned to him, "You've been unconscious over a few hours, because of your..."
"My wings?" De' Montrae spoke as he slowly remembers.
"Yes," Keith nodded. Suddenly, De' Montrae's eyes shot open wildly in fright and realization.
"Bayamon!" De' Montrae nearly shouted as he shot up straight. Groaned in pain.
"Whoa, take it easy." Keith rushed to his side, holding him study.
"Easy De' Montrae," Violet spoke. "You just woke up and you're not ready to sit up yet."
De' Montrae painfully nodded as he swallowed some of his pain. Keith slowly helped him to lay back down, "...t-thank you..."
"Anytime," Keith nodded.
"...I-I remember now..." De' Montrae spoke, "...my brother...Bayamon...he...he was speaking of a plan of...raping Violet and forcing marrying her...but only to do that is...is to force her to bare a child..."
Violet gasped in terror.
"What?" Both Keith and Lavender jumped.
"It's his way to be...crowned king..." De' Montrae spoke, "...that his dark desire...I couldn't stand his plans anymore...I was about to tell Violet and everyone but..."
"Bayamon got to you before you could tell," Keith spoke.
"...yes..." De' Montrae nodded, "...b-before I've blacked out...I remember he was planning...to get rid of Violet's bodyguard...and the guardians...before reaching his goal..."
"Well, he failed. Since he forgot about the items that the Royal One's court has." Keith spoke, "It has exposed him to the treachery that he committed."
"I see..." De' Montrae felt a slight relief.
"De' Montrae," Lavender spoke. "Why wouldn't you tell me anything about this?"
"...because..." De' Montrae felt his throat become dry. "Violet isn't the only one...who is the victim..."
Violet nearly jumped in shock.
"That's right," Miya spoke. "De' Montrae comes back to his quarters every night with some scrapes and bruises that would show dried blood and dirt on his clothes. But it only happens whenever he was having battle practice at his house."
"...and that spare partner..." De' Montrae nearly shivered. "...is Bayamon..."
"I...I don't believe it," Lady Lavender shed tears.
"...he always gets what he wants..." De' Montrae spoke, "...and most of them...he falsely accused me whenever he has done...and put it on me...and...and I couldn't stand it..."
"Well, it's over now, De' Montrae." Violet spoke, "Bayamon is now guilty of his crimes, he will be punished for whatever he has done to you and me. That will bring nothing but peace to us."
"...I am grateful to hear that..." De' Montrae spoke, "...but I am still guilty for being a compels...and...and I..."
"You're wrong," Keith spoke. "You helped me to get Violet away from your brother and held him back for us while we left the scene. So, there's no need to be punished for that."
"That's right," Violet nodded. "That's choice of redemption and you earned that. Yes, there will be consequences, but not as heavy as Bayamon has committed. And I am grateful for that,"
De' Montrae sniffled it, "...thank you...your highness..."
Miya smiled as she took De' Montrae's hand, Keith's left ear twitched as he eyed both De' Montrae and Miya.
"Is there something that you need to tell us?" Keith asked, "About something before trying to enter Violet's room."
"Wait what?" Lady Lavender raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"...there is." De' Montrae nodded. "...you see...I was trying to lie my way to Violet's room...but not to peak as you suggested...I just want to ask her personally about...something that I have in mind..."
"What is it?" Violet asked as she raised a brow.
"...you see..." De' Montrae turned his head to Miya, "...I...we were hoping to ask you...to..."
"To have your blessing upon our marriage," Miya added.
"Pardon?" Violet nearly jumped in surprise.
"You two are engaged?" Keith asked.
"Yes," both De' Montrae and Miya nodded.
Now that would explain why Miya has a slit scent of De' Montrae on her, not just her light perfume of course. Keith thought. And she is wearing the ring on her left ring finger, it's all because she is his fiancé.
"Why didn't you wait to ask her while we were at the ball?" Lady Lavender asked, "Instead of going into the princess's quarters?"
"...well..." De' Montrae spoke, "...for one...Violet's sister will get excited if we talk about it in person...two...my brother would have barked at me and he would probably use some harsh lecture towards me...and three..."
"Okay, we get the point." Keith interrupted and sighed.
"Just take it easy," Violet calmly spoke. "There's no reason to talk about this any further than it already has been."
De' Montrae nodded, "...I know that I have made a few mistakes in the past...but I have found a way to move from that mess...with a new, fresh start..." De' Montrae smiled.
Miya smiled softly.
"...I've already had the blessing from both of our parents from our separate households..." De' Montrae spoke, "...and...all that we need is a blessing of a royal heiress..."
"After what happened in the night," Violet spoke. "Since you never harmed me but helped me, with that redemption you have committed and seen you have love within your life. My answer is yes, you have my blessing for your marriage."
Lady Lavender and Miya smiled brightly.
"Oh, thank you. Your Highness," Miya spoke. "Thank you so much."
De' Montrae gracefully smiled, slowly his eyelids getting much heavier and slowly beginning to fall back to sleep.
"We should leave De' Montrae alone for the night," Lady Lavender spoke. "He still needs some rest."
"Alright then," Violet nodded as she bowed.
Keith followed.
"You all have a blissful night," Violet smiled.
"Thank you, your highness." Lady Lavender replied,
"...and Keith..." De' Montrae spoke. Keith turned to him, "...take care of our princess...well..."
"Don't worry," Keith replied. "I will," then he and Violet left the room.
As Violet and Keith left the room, Lady Lavender, De' Montrae, and Miya are now left alone. Lady Lavender sighed in relief, "I'll go to our quarters," she spoke as she stood up. "I must tell your father the good news about your recovery and the approval of the princess's blessing."
"...alright..." De' Montrae nodded. "...night mother..."
"Good night dear," Lady Lavender smiled. "Miya, are you...?"
"I'm staying here for the night," Miya spoke. "So, I could keep De' Montrae company."
Lady Lavender becomes worried.
"...it's the alright mother..." De' Montrae spoke, "...I'm okay with that..."
"Alright," Lady Lavender nodded as she smiled. "Have a blissful night."
"Goodnight," both De' Montrae and Miya replied. Then Lady Lavender left the room.
As Miya and De' Montrae are now alone, De' Montrae moved to the right a bit and Miya gently lifted the covers. "...thank you...for staying with me, my love..." De' Montrae smiled weakly.
"It's what I could do," Miya spoke. "And...I feel more comfortable whenever I sleep with you."
De' Montrae smiled, "...me too..." slowly, Miya crawled to his side. Laying into the covers, laying her head on De' Montrae's left shoulder and her hand over his chest.
Miya feels worried while she lies on De' Montrae.
"...don't worry Miya..." De' Montrae spoke, "...I'll be fine..."
"I know that you will," Miya pecked his cheek.
De' Montrae lightly smiled.
"Night love," Miya spoke softly.
"Night, my blossom star." Slowly, De' Montrae and Miya have fallen to sleep for the night.
