Chapter 3
Invasion
Bay of Biscay, Transport ship galley. A.D.1808
"BLALLALG"
"Damn this sea, I swear, why did I volunteer to go first as Vanguard?" Jacques said after his 4th Upchurch from sailing at sea. The ship tossed and turned too much for his liking and the sea salt smell was making him have a headache at best, he was not the only one suffering from such misfortune.
"Quit your bellyaching soldier, you're not the only one who's had it rough." Jean said before Jacques gave him glare but paid him no mind. The galley was sailing towards the Capital of Westeros called Kings Landing although suffering from food shortage, squalor, and poor administration it still was a problem if not handled correctly, good thing the Emperor brought Experimental Howitzers to use against the walls
Rene was hoping to see in action with the new precision shell something that would've been useful to have during the 2nd Coalition war. "Capitaine the city is directly ahead of us, and it looks like it's under siege." A soldier said out to Rene.
True to Rene's eyes, an army was surrounding the city and crude trenches were dug around the outskirts of the city. With Men holding different flags "banners" and arming catapults launching stones.
Jacques scoffed at the battle before saying.
"Merde! So much for our surprise invasion we won't have time to set up our Artillery."
"Nonsense, we can send our Fusiliers, and Cavalry. After the fighting is over with the natives." Rene said with a gesture to the siege taking place.
"I wonder what the Emperor will do?"
The Eagle,French Imperial Navy, Flagship of Invasion fleet and Biscay fleet.
"Unfortunately Mon Emperor it seems this...Baratheon has gotten here first it seems my spies were a little off." Karl Ludwig Schulmeister or Charles the Spymaster of Napoleon said with dissatisfaction. Not that it was relevant now for Napoleon was not at all concerned this would help take care of both Joffrey and Renly, two contesters to the iron throne. Only now what to do with the Vanguard force, Napoleon looked for a place that would be easy to release his Men and Cavalry forces to secure a beach head.
"Capitaine have our Transports go to the left side of the beach, have three of our ships turn Starboard side and prepare a broadside on the gate there." Napoleon ordered the Captain to acknowledge his orders and begin barking orders to the crew and other staff to do the maneuvers.
"What of Renly's forces? Do you intend to fight them as well?" Sergeant-major Leon Keller asked the Swiss, bewildered by the order Napoleon gave to the captain.
"Qui if you didn't notice their forces are actually retreating." Napoleon replied well pointing at the Small but visible figures running out of the trenches and Knights galloping away from the field.
"They saw our ships and realized what was happening, such a shame we could've eliminated another threat...tsk tsk." Charles started with disappointment but seemed to be calm. Napoleon turned to the two of them and said "It matters not, we have a weaker city and possibly low moral defenders; this should be simple if done correctly." He paused before looking at Leon."Have the men ready to storm the city have Capitaine and his Curisaaers to search around the woods for any straggling Baratheon forces, he will know what to do after that." Napoleon looked at Charles and began again." Charles, once we capture the city, have all our spies sent out to the rest of Westeros and have them report any sights on Arya Stark. I want her found before Stark or Lannister find her; she will be crucial for the next part of the plan. But if we find Sansa still here if Joffrey has not ran away then Arya will a 2nd objective understood?" Charles said nothing but bowed his head showing that he would do his task. Leon Saluted and Marched off to his rowboat to land on the beach.
Napoleon checked his flintlock and sword before walking off deck to head ashore as well.
Kings landing, Gate of the gods.
"Their...retreating I mean Hahaha they're Retreating men see Renly the cowered stag!" Adrian said while trying to hide his dumbfoundedness over the superior numbered Tyrell and Baratheon forces that had siege kings landing for 2 days suddenly Retreating. It was unreal but perhaps the gods were in a good mood today.
"Shit I never would have believed this...you think they saw reinforcements coming to aid us?" Asked Aggar who was still nervous from the siege to stand up.
"Who cares at this point, I know what I'm going to do to celebrate." Adrian smiled with lewd thoughts coming into his mind of wrenches from Baelish pleasure dens.
"Yeah I can see that bastard smile on you, and hope you know that willa has left for the Dornishmen." Aggar chuckled after seeing his fellow Westerlander turn red from either embarrassment or anger he did not care.
"Screw you."
"You'll have to court me before we can go that far!" Aggar retorted before laughing, causing it to spread amongst the gold cloaks and Lannister men at arms.
"SHIPS SITED AT THE BLACKWATER BAY!"
The announcement caught them all by surprise and the laughter stopped as all the men gathered their arms and rushed to the iron gate, many heading towards the mud gate to reinforce it.
"Well so much for celebrating." Adrian said as he and Agar left for their respective post.
Red keep, Kings Landing
"Who the seven hells is blocking my city?!"
King Joffrey Baratheon yelled with rage while in the small council using it as a makeshift base during Renly's siege for 2 days. Joffery looked at Varys and pointed a finger at him while shaking. ''You Spider are supposed to know these things tell how your Little Birds missed an entire fleet of gods forsaken ships!"
Varys simply bowed his head and said. "With all do respect your grace my little birds mentioned no word of ships of this caliber or the banner which it has on top of its mast."
His silky voice caused Joffrey to have no doubts, only further rage from the new enemy that had begun landing troops near iron gate and mud gate.
Tyrion walked over to the table adorned in his small armor and armed with a small axe. He took off the helm and placed it on the table while sitting himself on the hands chair. "Well it seems Renly has retreated, i would have been pleased if our valor scared him but that would be a…jest since we have a new enemy behind our asses." He said while Bronn his personal sellsword was sharpeding his throwing knife.
"So…any ideas on who our new attacker is or may perhaps we have for once a pleasant envoy wishing us a welcome to the strange world?"
The jest was left with no laughter; only cold silence had glares from Cersei and Joffrey.
But before anyone could continue a loud sound of a thousand cannons roaring, causing many to pause from the sheer vibrations of the volley slamming into the keep and other areas of the city.
"SEVEN HELLS WHAT THAT!"
The hound shouted from the look of his face he looked shocked as everyone else was, only quickly regaining his bearings did Tyrion speak." Bronn get down their help the men to defend the gates we can not and i say not let them in or else. Hound get King Joffrey,Tommen, and Sansa out of here through the passageway Varys can lead you."
Bronn nodded and took off with a few Men at arms behind him, the Hound begrudgingly obeys and grabs Joffrey and Cersei leading them away along with Varys and the Kingsguard behind them.
Tyrion put his helm back on and run as fast as his little legs could to follow up with other defenders to defend the Red Keep if the gates should fall.
Iron Gate, near the French Landing.
'Merde!
The Dame ships were off course sitting ducks to those backwater natives!" Jacques shouted from the still ringing ears of Rene before his hearing went normal. He had to Confess he never would have thought Jacques would be a winy soldier, good God maybe that's why he resigned to his unit.
"Shut it Jacques just keep your head down trying to re adjust their aim, besides they still will be in shock from the cannon fire these people will think were casting spells." Rene said while saddling up his horse Mars the red stallion reared up and from the time spent in the ships was not easy on him, petting the horse to calm her down from the cannon fire.
A Heavy Dragoon contagion rode by riding towards the once occupied trenches to scout ahead to see if Renly's forces were still there and waiting to strike when the time was right.
"All right men when that Gate is destroyed i want a perfect line and i don't want no heroics. You shoot three volleys then allow the grenadiers to soften them up…then you brave bastards can charge in, understood?" Rene got many laughs at that last part as they formed into formation.
'Let's hope their aim is better this time."
Had to fix a few things I'm not a really comfortable of using more "aggressive language" however for last chapter reviews.
Ironwall: I haven't decided yet on "if" other nations would get involved its still up in the air...plus which nation would you like to see get involved?
