Chapter 4
The Eagle Conquers
Kings landing, mud gate beaches after 2nd bombardment 1808 A.D
Napoleon was never a patient man even when it was during sieges or choke points such things could lead to disasters or weak spots in an army. However over the years and after the great siege of London Napoleon learned to control his impatient attitude when time came to it.
However when the invasion fleet missed the gates and walls he nearly flew in rage. It had been many years since he grew angry, of course he composed himself as the 2nd volley led to the falling of the walls and gate.
"Mon Emperor shall we charge and show these savages how war is really done?" Leon Keller was eager for a fight, not that he can blame them; they were stuck on a boat for 5 days.
"No, have the grenadiers lob the explosives at them first to soften them up then you can fire 2 volleys and charge, meet up with Captain Rene he should also be charging in as well." Napoleon said and the Swiss saluted and barked off order for his men to follow.
Fusiliers and grenadiers marched into formation and marched to the gate and breached the wall as many of the defenders were either running away or in shock from the cannon fire. However some brave few in Red armor and gold were able to rally and form a meager shield wall.
"HALT!" A red armored man shouted at them Leon obliged by making his soldiers halt.
"BY ORDER OF KING JOFFREY BARATHEON FIRST OF HIS NAME DEMAN…"
"Take aim." Leon's order and his men obeyed their muskets and aimed at the shield wall.
"Front rank kneel." Again like clockwork all first ranks kneeled and second rank aimed.
The Defenders were at best confused by the action that the Army was doing only some assumed they were going to charge with odd spears.
"Grenadiers!" The command was given and they ran up front, sparked the fuse on the ball and threw it with all their might.
"What...the fu…" before he could finish it a mass wave exploded and shrapnel was launched into the air left and right gold and red cloaks were either dead, dieing, or in massive pain.
"Fire!"
1 and 2 ranks fire volleys into the remaining able bodied men capable of trying to rally them and all fell down without taking one of Napoleon's troops.
"CHARGE!" Leon shouted saver and pistol in hand as he led the charge into the city. A massive war crime was heard from the other side as well which could only mean Rene had made it through. Leon slashed on an upcoming red clock before he could retaliate all was going to plan.
Captain Rene, Iron Gate after breach.
Rene was nervous from the amount of things going around the siege. Jacques was leading his men into the retreating enemy; many were falling back to the Red Keep as they kept shouting. Good thing he learned English before.
"Look at them run Capitaine filthy backwaters are fleeing
"Keep up the pressure, don't let them regroup!"
Rene waved his saber around the motioning the fusiliers to charge at the retreating forces. His horse neyed before galloping forward along with his bodyguard, Leon also encouraged his company to run the enemy down, linking up with the Emperor's army.
Captain Rene saluted Napoleon along with other soldiers.
"Captain Rene i see you have done in good time," Napoleon said to Rene how bristled with pride before replying brightly. "Thank you mon Emperor, I hope to spread the revolution to the masses to westeros."
"And that we shall do once we Civilize them" he said before hand motioning to a forward march to the red castle on top of the hill.
"To me men we shall bring enlightenment to the people of westeros!"
A mighty cheer rose as the Grande Armee continued its march.
Red Keep, Kings Landing
For many in the Red Keep it was a tense mood, servants were scrambling around the keep gathering food to ration, barricading key points, and arming what little remained of the gold cloak and lannister forces. Many servants were even conscripted into militia service by King Joffery by pain of death or worse.
Cerci wanted nothing more but to scream and curse at the foriegn devils for their bold disrespect to house lannister and Baratheon. Tyrion of course did his best by drinking wine and discussing with Varys on possib;e escape routes since his father may not be here to save them, everything was going to seven hells and Balish wasn't helping either in fact he seemed to packing his bags and other "Important" thing tax ledger and his brothel book was with him as well.
Bronn was also not having either he barely made it back from being from what he described as "Focking dragon fire" the hound apprently left escaping the city and leaving it to the devils, with the hound gone morale was stable but growing low many maned the bastion walls but so far the foreigners kept afar…strange but mostly welcomed.
"Any idea why they are keeping back?'' Tyrion questioned Bronn who was sharpening his knife on a whetstone.
"Don't know maybe waiting for more troops from the ships or licking their wounds from the assault could be many things,"
Tyrion frowned at this it seemed the gods like to jest but this was too much of a break for them which was something he hoped for after all the things that happened a little break is what they need for once.
"Gods must be helping us for one time only." Tyrion said yawning before drinking another wine glass down.
"How long can we hold out?"
"If we ration reasonably then maybe in a week or less."
"How do we improve those odds?"
Bronn strapped his knife back into his sheath before turning to Tyrion.
"If you cast the women's children as old and useless then yeah we can hold a tad bit, but do you want a dagger close to the heart?"
That was all Tyrion needed to know regardless they have to make a duo with what they have. Looking out from the balcony he saw more transports arriving, he could hear the distant pipe and drum music they played when they were marching, much too many it was irritating the faithful believed it was a spell in music form to enthrall them; some proposed going deaf before being enslaved.
This one time Tyrion wished he had stayed at the vale so only his Sister and Father could deal with this.
