Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated my Scooby-Doo Meets Courage The Cowardly Dog (Original Series) for a while, I'm still waiting for Aartman7141999's qoutes that I needed for the next chapter.
In the meantime I decided to make side stories for my Scooby-Doo Meets Courage The Cowardly Dog (Original Series) universe.
This idea is inspired by the Netflix TV series called The Cuphead Show. I had never played the game but I binge watched it when I had a cold in November when I was not allowed to to leave my room (for COVID reasons) this is not gonna be a regular thing for me, it's gonna be for once in a while side stories, anyways here's Part 1 enjoy :)
One day in the Bagge farm up in the attic where Shaggy and Scooby are staying for the Summer. The cowardly trio were back from once again a crazy adventure they had in their daily lives.
"Like gee, Nowhere is probably the craziest place I ever visited," Shaggy stated, rubbing his sore back from their adventure they just got back.
"Well Shaggy, that's what happens when you live here, as long as I have," Courage stated, knowing how the cowardly teen was feeling.
"RI don't know how are we still alive," Scooby pointed out, he may not be the smartest dog alive, but he was sure no one could survive Nowhere as long as he and his best friends have.
Then Courage announced, "After all this trauma, I think I deserve a little treat."
This caught the attention of Shaggy and Scooby for they both love treats, "Ooh! A treat!/Roh! RA treat!"
"Yeah. A treat for me," Courage finished as he pointed to himself, he knew how Shaggy and Scooby love treats, for he got to know them well in the course of this Summer.
This left Shaggy and Scooby disappointed, "Awww!/Rawww!"
"Now turn around and don't look," Courage instructed.
Shaggy and Scooby give each other confused glances.
"Well, go ahead and turn around!" Courage demanded.
"Like, why?" Shaggy asked, not getting where the pink beagle is going with this.
"Just do it!" Courage demanded again with impatience.
Shaggy and Scooby both give each other a look and shrugged, as they obliged and turned around, waiting for Courage to give the signal.
Courage reaches under Shaggy's bed and there are a lot of strange noises. Soon, the cowardly pink beagle places a Easter basket on the bed.
Scooby's curiosity got the better of him, as he turned his gaze towards and bed and was surprised, "Rait a minute, you still have Easter candy?"
This left Courage a little frustrated, as Scooby sometimes can't handle the simplest instructions, "I said don't look!"
Shaggy turned, as he heard his dog buddies' conversation and was also surprised that Courage had candy as well, "Like dude, it's July! How could you possibly not eat your candy for that long?"
"It's called self-control," Courage explained in a matter of factly, as he took a piece of candy shoving the basket back under the bed.
"Relf-what?" Scooby asked with confusion, as he furrowed his eyebrow.
"Self-control Scoob. "It's for people who don't give in to every temptation," Courage explained, he was honestly not surprise that Shaggy and Scooby never heard of self control, as if never hit them in the face. He walked out the door, but not before giving his two buddies for some words of advice, "You ought to try it sometime," he then slammed the door shut.
After Courage left the attic, Shaggy and Scooby both darted their eyes ominously to under the bed.
Down in the kitchen, Courage placed a plate on the table, along with a fork and knife. He then placed his candy on the plate. He then ties a napkin around his neck and preparing to eat his snack.
Meanwhile, in the attic, Shaggy and Scooby both looked down to see the Easter candy basket, before giving each other mischievous grins.
In the kitchen, Courage unwraps the wrapper and places the chocolate candy on it. Then pierces the fork in the candy and cuts it with a knife. Courage gives the candy a sniff and sighed happily and begins to eat it.
As Courage enjoys his piece of candy, Shaggy and Scooby are both practically scarfing it down and devouring all of Courage's leftover candy. The hungry duo continued to eat multiple pieces of candy into their greedy mouths, until the basket is empty.
When Courage returned to the upstairs attic, he gasped in great shock to see Shaggy and Scooby both having devoured his candy.
Courage felt anger boiling inside of him and screamed with rage, "SHAGGY! SCOOBY!"
"Huh?/Ruh?" Shaggy and Scooby both asked, in unison.
"You both ate my CANDY?!" Courage raged, never feeling anger towards his two best friends before.
Shaggy and Scooby both gasped, as they realized their mistake, feeling regret and shame filling inside them.
Shaggy practically begged Courage, "Like, we're sorry little pink dude! We'll make it up to you!"
"Reah, we'll do anything!" Scooby added, also feeling bad of what he did.
"Anything?" Courage questioned, while crossing his arms and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Anything!/Ranything!" Shaggy and Scooby answered in unison with desperation.
And the next moment outside the farmhouse, Courage opened the front door, and pointed angrily towards outside, "GET OUT!"
Shaggy and Scooby slowly walked outside sadly, with their heads down and both felt like naughty children.
"And don't come back until you learn some self-control!" Courage yelled with frustration, and slammed the door, before taking a deep breath and exhale. I love those two, but they gotta learned some self-control, or else one day their gonna turn into candy themselves.
Meanwhile, Shaggy and Scooby are both walking deep into the woods that happens to be nearby their house, and they still feel bad for eating Courage's candy.
"Oh boy Scoob, I feel terrible for eating the little pink guy's candy," Shaggy said.
"Reah, me too," Scooby replied, with agreement.
"Like, we should try the self-control thing he was talking about," Shaggy suggested, wanting to make things right.
"Reah, I wanna make it up to Rourage," Scooby said, agreeing what his owner said.
Unknownbest to the hungry do, something rolled into the woods. Shaggy and Scooby heard something and they both turned around to see nothing there. Soon, rolling in front of the two, is a giant peppermint candy.
Shaggy and Scooby both gasped in amazement, "So beautiful/Ro beautiful."
Dazed by the sweetness, Shaggy and Scooby begin to follow the peppermint through a slot in the tree. Soon, the best friends arrived in an astonishing sight, another world hidden within the slot of the tree.
La-la la-la la
Welcome to this land of sugar
Everything is simply grand
Everything is super yummy
In this place called Sugarland
La-la la-la, la-la la-la...
What Shaggy and Scooby saw is a world that is made of sweets, goodies, treats, and different kinds of candy and pastries.
"Like dude, what is this place," Shaggy asked, with astonishment.
Suddenly, a voice giggled and answered, "Didn't you hear the song? It's Sugarland."
Scooby looked around, trying to find the source of the voice, "Rho said that?"
Just then, the cake-like castle fires and a woman comes out. She has a very feminine appearance and color palette, mainly composed of pinks. She is a tall and skinny woman. She is also holding a candy cane in her hand.
She spins in the air and tip toes to the ground as she introduces herself, "My name is Velvet Cupcake," she said, as she lean towards to Shaggy and Scooby, "And today's your lucky day." She lifted herself up and spread her arms in the air, "You two get to eat aaaaaaaaaaall the sweet treats you desire." she announced with a big grin on her face.
Shaggy and Scooby exchanged uncertain glances, this lady was giving them uneasy vibes, and everything they had to go through this Summer and after seeing all kinds people they trick Muriel and Eustace in Nowhere. They knew this lady maybe bad news.
So with them both thinking the same thing, they responded with, "And….goodbye/Rand….goodbye," they turned around and walked away.
Velvet followed after them, "Wait, where are you two going? I offered both you aaaaaaaaall the sweet treats you desire. Ain't you gonna eat my sweets?" She then places her hands together and gives them the puppy dog eyes.
But Shaggy and Scooby are both still against it.
"RI don't think so lady," Scooby shook his head.
"Like yeah, we read the fairy tales. We eat your candy, we both ended up in an oven," Shaggy added, with suspicion.
"Rou just wanna make us Scooby Snacks," Scooby finished, not trusting this one bit.
"This is funny. You're funny, funny boys," Velvet said, and beginning to laugh. Then she leaned towards Scooby and Shaggy with a cupcake in her hands, "I only eat sweet treats," she then kisses the cupcake and then gobbles it up.
Shaggy looked at the woman and felt bad, maybe they misjudged the woman too quickly, after all, she did obey them some candy, ""Oh. Like, in that case, we're sorry we misjudged you, Ms. Cupcake."
"Reah, you seem very nice offering us all these treats," Scooby added with a chuckle, figuring she seemed harmless.
"Oh please, we're friends now. Call me The," Velvet said, much to Shaggy and Scooby's confusion.
She then placed her hand on Shaggy's chest and giggled, making the cowardly teen uncomfortable.
The strange lady then dashes to appear behind a giant truffle, "Now I gotta say, I admire how you resisted my veeeeeery tempted offer." Then appeared again as she lies on a jawbreaker, "Most disgusting children and dogs just can't resist."
She then appears for what it seemed the third in front of Shaggy and Scooby on the ice cream scoop and chuckled with a big grin.
This startled both Shaggy and Scooby into falling down onto their bottoms.
"Like, you gotta a real creepy way by you lady," Shaggy stated, starting to feel unsettle by her. Maybe trusting her wasn't a good idea.
Velvet remained silent, and then said, "I don't get out much."
"Rell I guess that's understandable, why would anyone want to leave this place?" Scooby questioned.
"Exactly," Velvet agreed, as she falls into the giant ice cream. "So long as you two don't break my two rules," she said, as she came up to the hungry duo.
"Like…." Shaggy asked, with curiosity.
"Rule number 1!" Velvet narrowed her eyes, "Tell no one about Sugarland! And rule number 2! Eat aaaaaaaaaaall the candy you desire… just not my candy castle," she explained, as she pointed her cane toward her castle, "Not even a teensy weensy bite."
"Works for us," Shaggy replied, and begin to rub his hands eagerly, "Like, there's so much tasty stuff here, why would we want to eat your castle, right Scoob?" he turned his gaze towards the cowardly Great Dane.
"Reah," Scooby responded, before giggling.
"You wouldn't," Velvet said sinisterly, and twirled her candy cane," Unless you find it…" her mouth stretched to Shaggy and Scooby and whispered, "Irresistible."
Hearing that, makes Shaggy and Scooby look at Velvet's castle. It does look like a giant cake, it is decorated with pink and white color frosting and icing, and has different kinds of candy and sweet treats. Very tempting for the hungry duo to eat.
"It is a tasty looking castle," Shaggy responded, with a robotic tone, biting his tongue a bit.
"Ruh-huh," Scooby nodded his head.
Velvet turned her back and said, "I'll just turn my back in case you want to sneak a bite."
"Raybe just a little teensy weensy," Scooby drooled, lifting his head, wanting to take a bite of the cake.
Velvet looks to see Shaggy and Scooby are both very tempted to eat the cake.
But they suddenly both came to their senses, clearing the fog from their heads.
"Ro teensy weensy!" Scooby shook his head to clear his mind.
"Yeah, like we totally gotta go!" Shaggy shouted, as he and Scooby hurried off out of Sugarland.
"They'll be back toodle-oo" Velvet waved bye, as she started to laughed manically.
To be continued…
