Lily, Mary, and Marlene were sitting at the table for lunch having breakfast and talking about Alice ( their senior and friend) and how she was so madly in love with Frank.
"Alice was head over heels when Frank asked her to be his 'boyfriend'" said Lily.
"They look cute together," said Mary, they look towards the couple who were sitting together at the other end and were both laughing and talking, Frank said something to Alice and she started blushing.
Lily hoped that someday she could be just as happy as them, Marlene seemed to be thinking along the same lines, "I want to be like them" she shrugged.
After a few minutes they were joined by the marauder's bar Remus, they were all looking triumphant and very happy, which was missing in the previous few weeks.
"Why are you all looking like, you have just won the Quidditch cup ?" asked Marlene.
"Oh YES! it's something like that but," said Peter happily.
"Will you tell me what that is? "
"Ask us no questions and we will tell you no lies," said Sirius.
"Is it something to do with nightmares ?" asked Lily.
"Oh yes, Evans, actually, my nightmares stopped, and yesterday I saw a very very sweet and happy dream," said James.
"OOH! sounds good, What was the dream James ?" asked Marlene.
"A fiery head girl said ' yes ' to me and ... we... kissed. She had beautiful green eyes and had freckles and then we both..." but James what cut off by Lily who threw bread at him.
"Stop it, Potter, we don't want to know any more about your dream," said Lily irritatedly.
" Where is Remus ?" asked Mary.
"You miss him a lot, don't you ? " smirked Marlene, and Mary's ear turned red.
"He slipped on the bathroom floor, but don't worry he will be back soon," said James.
Noticing that yesterday was a full moon Lily knew exactly why Remus was absent and to change the topic, she turned to Marlene and said " You know, today we will be brewing Draught of Peace in Potions and Slughorn said it was 'important for O.W.L.s. ', have you done the essay on its preparation?"
"Yeah, I sneaked some of your notes to complete it when you were asleep," said Marlene with a wicked grin.
"Anyways ladies, you will enjoy today's dinner because we Marauders are going to celebrate our success tonight," said Sirius.
"What success?" asked the three girls together.
" Ask us no questions and we will tell you no lies " replied the three boys together.
"My advice will be to be respectful tonight," James said with a wink toward Lily. And all the three departed, but Lily noticed that Sirius muttered angrily something to James which sounded like ' Why did you tell them that? '
As they all took their place in Potions class, Lily sat next to Snape her potions partner.
Lily had decided to talk to Sev and convince him to leave the circle of the bad guys like Mulciber and Avery.
The class began and to no one's surprise Lily and snape were first to complete their potions, Lily looked around the class, Mary's face was covered with blue ashes, and Marlene was looking irritatedly in her cauldron and was stirring it angrily. The Marauders were as always talking in whispers with serious looks on their faces, they were surely up to something, James looked up, and when his eyes met Lily's he winked. Lily turned to her table and decided to talk to see who was scribbling something in his book.
"What are you doing sev? "
"Nothing, just writing some correct instructions and thinking about a new spell on which I am working for a long time," he said with a proud smile.
"Is the spell the dark one, which you were talking about earlier ?" asked Lily with narrowed eyes.
"Yes," his smile wiped off his face when he looked at her expressions.
"You should not be involved in such things, it's all very harmful and dangerous "
" But it will give me recognition, with this spell I can easily defeat my enemies"
"But its dark art sev, it will start destroying you from inside and why do you even need recognition for such foul things? "
Snape cast an angry look at her and said "It's not foul, just because some people aren't skilled enough they start disgrading it, just like that Rakepick, who can't even handle the pressure of becoming an auror. "
"Don't insult him, even Dumbledore respects Prof Rakepick, and you will just end up fucking your life if you will be involved in dark arts. "
"The outside world is different, only the strongest survive there, you will see for yourself when you will step into the outer world, the dark arts will only help you to survive. The Dark Lord is winning outside and Dumbledore will not protect us when we will graduate. "
Before Lily could argue the bell rang and they all left.
When Lily arrived at the great hall, she found that everyone was standing near their tables but was not able to sit on them. Whenever someone tried to sit at the table throw the person on the ground and would roar "RUDE! RUDE!".
Lily glanced around and found that the four marauders were standing in the corner and laughing at others people with confused looks.
Marlene being the boldest tried to sit but was thrown to the floor, Marlene got up cursing the table, and the table roared again " RUDE ! CURSING! RUDE GIRL ! ".
The teachers looked as confused as the students, they also were not able to sit on their chairs.
Lily saw Peter then putting his hand on his stomach and saying something to the others, they all nodded and then went there, cleaned the spot and said something with a pleading look to the table, and sat down, to everyone's surprise, the tables didn't throw them, instead happily said "Welcome Gentlemen"
James looked at Lily and winked at her before digging into his food.
Then it dawned on Lily what to do and smiling she said to the 2Ms "We have to request the tables respectfully to sit on them.
Lily cleaned the spot and pleaded with the table and sat, soon the others got the idea and followed the suit, and soon everyone was settled except many Slytherins who were too proud to plead with the table but when they got tired they also pleaded and sat down.
Professor McGonagall came to the marauders and gave them detentions for 3 days.
"But we were just trying to teach people to respect the things, Minnie," said Sirius innocently.
"A week detention for you Mr. Black " and with that, she left.
Time fled fast for the 5th year due to the tough lessons and more homework from the teachers.
Soon Halloween was over, and the marauders as always pulled a prank.
On the night of the Halloween feast they had put a charm on the great hall entrance such that whoever entered the great hall their robes changed to Gold and red with the words 'HAPPY HALLOWEEN DEAR GRYFFINDORS'.
This resulted in 2 days of detention for the marauders.
Later when Lily saw James approaching her with his stupid smirk probably to ask her to go to Hogsmeade tomorrow, said 'yes' to Tom Cooper in a panic state when he asked her right before James could, Cooper was a good-looking Hufflepuff but was rather full of himself and was a blabbermouth.
This resulted in the most boring Hogsmead trip as Tom didn't stop talking for even a second, Lily cursed James throughout the trip. She has to lie to Cooper about the pending essay so as to get rid of him.
When she returned to the castle she got a headache, she vowed never to talk to Cooper again and went to bed cursing James.
