A/N: Greetings from Brigadoon, that magical place where this story seems to have been marinating since May 2012. While four years and five months is a bit of gap between updates, life's been busy. Still, I decided I'd see if I could try finishing this story – even though by our calendar Ron and Kim have already had enough time to graduate from college, not to mention successfully complete their admissions mission. Your patience, support, and understanding are most appreciated.

Thanks to Boris Yeltsin, Katsumara, Mahler Avatar, Mr. Wizard, Eddy13, Yamal, LoPe21, Quathis, Linzerj, Rye-bread, bigherb81, Reader101w, Sentinel103, RonHeartbreaker, whitem, VizeerLord, campy, Drew, Anthony1l, ekrekeler, and GinervaMarieChaseEverdeen for reviewing and to everyone for reading.

As ever, thanks to campy for his mad proof and beta reading assistance.

Given the amount of time that has lapsed since I last updated this story, readers who were enjoying WTAM might consider revisiting Chapter 7 for a refresher on what is happening before continuing ...

I.

"Fukushima?" Ron exclaimed as he saw Bates' companion on screen.

"You know him?" a surprised Kim asked.

"Junior year. Yamanuchi," Ron answered before adding proudly, "It was my honor to defeat him."

"Defeat him? How come you never told me?" a stunned and mildly hurt Kim asked.

"Sworn to secrecy, remember?" Ron answered. "Though since you and Wade had me chipped I'm surprised you didn't know."

Kim sighed. "You're not going to let this go, are you?"

"Not so much."

"Look, I'm sorry. It was ferociously wrong. But we only used it a couple of times to find you."

"Like when?"

"Well," Wade interjected. "There was that time in Florida when Drakken was using mind control on Nana Possible and her friends. Kim had been captured and—"

"Okay. I'll give you a pass on that one. KP was in danger and Spring Break rocked in the end."

Kim's expression, which was one of fondness at the memory of Ron coming to her rescue, darkened a bit as she then recalled him dancing atop a rocket with two comely co-eds.

"Hey!" Ron protested as he saw the change in his girlfriend's expression and correctly guessed what she was thinking. "We weren't dating then. Besides, I'm not the one who's been going all NSA on her best friend. So, when else?"

Kim exhaled. "There was only one other time."

"Oh?"

"When you went to Japan with Yori. You dropped off the grid and, and I was, well, I was …"

"Worried?"

"Jealin'."

"No way."

"Way."

"Coolio!"

"Come again?" She was not expecting that response.

"Hey, it's not often the Ronman has had the ladies falling all over him," he said enthusiastically before he quickly added, "though the only one I want falling all over me now is you!"

Kim scowled, then smirked, then finally smiled. "Nice save. Forgive me?"

"Sha," Ron. "Forgiven. On one condition."

"What? That we never use it again?"

"Uh, no," Ron said. "Given how often I lose my pants, library books and other stuff, having someone be able to find me may not be such a bad idea."

"Then what's your condition?"

"You get one, too."

"Why?"

"Uh, hello? Alien kidnapping? Time travel escapades? End-of-year sales at the mall? Sometimes a guy may need a little extra help finding his lady."

Kim considered the request for a moment, then nodded. "Okay. I'll do it. But after we deal with the bad guys. Now what's the 411 on Fukushima?"

"Ninja wannabee, Yamanuchi washout, went over to the dark side to work for Monkey Fist, helped steal the Lotus Blade, had his biscuit kicked by the Rondo, yadda yadda yadda …"

"Wait a minute: he worked for Monkey Fist?" Kim said.

"Well, it may have been more like a villain internship kind of thing," he explained.

"Ron, Bates worked for him, too!"

"Hnk! Double trouble!" Rufus squeaked.

Ron considered what Kim and Rufus had realized. "Oh man. What kind of monkey business do you think they're up to?"

Kim and Rufus both shot Ron a look.

"What?" he said.

Rufus slapped his head and Kim rolled her eyes. "I don't know other than it can't be good," she said before returning her attention to her tech guru. "Wade, where are the bad guys?"

"The New York Public Library. I've got you a ride; Mr Geminini will be waiting for you at the airport."

"Thanks, Wade. You rock," she said before ending the call and turning to Ron and Rufus. "You ready?"

"And willing," Ron replied, "As long as I don't have to lick any more book stamps."

II.

"Miss Possible, thank you for coming again," Buck Report said as he came down the steps of the library. "One of our oldest and most ancient manuscripts is missing!"

"Oh geez, I said I was sorry about the wrestling and cheese book!" Ron said defensively.

Kim cocked an eyebrow. "Ron, I'm sure that's not why Mr. Report called us. Right?"

"That's right," he agreed. "Though the loss of one of the rarest and most authoritative volumes on the intersection and interplay between Greco-Roman wrestling and the cultural influence of Wensleydale cheese is a terrible loss for scholars and mongers of both cheese and war."

"Okay, fine, I'll go in and lick some more stickers," Ron groused. "But don't think Ron Stoppable is ever going to read a book again!"

"Come again?" Kim asked.

"Look, KP, knowledge is supposed to be power and the truth is supposed to set you free but between library stamp glue that tastes like something Cafeteria Lady would cook up and all of those wrong-sick monkey books, all I can say is the truth hurts!"

"Riiight," Kim said skeptically. "Can we focus on the villains?"

"You got it, Kim, though I'd much rather focus on you."

Kim's heart fluttered and she beamed, always grateful for one of Ron's weirdly romantic compliments. Ron, realizing what he just did, grinned. Teen heroine and master of the mystical monkey power leaned in for a smooch.

Then Report coughed.

"Time and place," a blushing Kim said to her BF.

"Gotcha, Kimbo," a similarly abashed Ron acknowledged.

Kim returned her attention to the librarian. "Ron and I are happy to help. Sitch us on the missing manuscript."

"It's a Tenth Century Cambodian scroll purporting to contain the secrets of an ancient monkey cult."

"Oh man, not more tree-swinging monkey madness! The inhumanity!" Ron wailed. "Next thing you know, you'll tell us that Bates and Fukushima will be able to summon the forces of simian darkness!"

"How did you know that?" a surprised Buck Report asked.

"Let's just say we've had some experience with things like this. That's how we know who your thieves are," Kim said before she turned to her boyfriend. "Come on Ron, looks like we're on our way to Southeast Asia."

Ron sighed. "Let me guess: another set of wrong sick monkey ruins in the middle of a hot, steaming jungle infested with creepy crawlies," he whined. "Why can't the villains ever be at a nice four-star restaurant in Tokyo?"

"Look on the bright side: there won't be any library stamps to lick," she said playfully before she shifted back into mission mode and activated the Kimmunicator. "Wade, we need a ride to Cambodia, pronto."

"I'll get to work on it, Kim," the tech guru answered.

"Excuse me, young man," Report interjected, "but you might want to send your friends by way of upstate New York."

"Oh?" a curious Kim asked.

"Yes, we have only half of the manuscript. When the thieves discover that, they will probably go looking for the rest, which is in the rare book library at Llenrock University."

"We're on it," Kim said. "Let's jet, Ron."

Ron, to his credit, was the first to realize that they were missing an important piece of information. "Uh, KP, did you catch the name of the book we're looking for?" he asked when they were halfway down the block. They stopped, Kim faced him directly, and flashed Ron a smile that made him feel like a million bucks: it always pleased her when he had his head in the game and stepped up. "Good question, Ron!" she said, giving him a buss on the cheek.

"Ah-booyah!" he said cheerfully.

The two teen heroes jogged back to the Library, headed inside, and caught up to Report in the lobby. Suddenly, for reasons he could not articulate, Ron suspected he would not like the answer to the question of the name of the scroll.

Buck Report did not disappoint.

"The manuscript is titled, Tao of the Dark Destroyer or The Path—

"... of the Yono." Kim and Ron both interjected. Not surprisingly, neither felt in the mood to call jinx.
