The newly discovered airbender was one the ground with leaning backwards as she starred up at the clean blue sky above them. Sweat dripping from her body as apparently learning bending especially bending that was the opposite of earthbending. Yee-Li might be ¼ Air Nomad but she was ¾ Earth Kingdom so even though she was not aware of her status as a bender and was very interested in Air Nomad culture. Her attempts learn airbending was tiring as she might have the ability to learn she was far from a natural or fast learner.
Something of which in a way helped Team Avatar defeat the Fire Nation. Since normally it takes years for an Avatar to master the four elements yet Aang managed to do it in record time. Mastering three of them in less then a year and the youngest to ever master air bending in recorded Air Nomad history. The same could be said of his master as well. Who were all naturals at their given element and/or fast learners once they understood the basics. Not that it would stop her as bending was not something everyone master in short time. Most people took time to learn and years to master.
"Look like we should stop for the day" Aang said as while she had the bare basic down going beyond that was proving difficult.
Merely nodding as she knew this training would be tough as until just few days again Yee-Li thought of herself as non bender.
"Anyway I recalled you mention some friends you had that were also interested in my people's culture" Aang said
She had mention that once while they were heading to where her training was currently taking place at the moment whenever he had free time after working on repairing the Outer and Inner Walls. Again nodding in response, he voiced his interest in meet them.
The following day…
Yee-Li was busy running around the a small house cleaning up a variety of things and trying to make everything as clean and presentable as possible.
"What are you doing" Won-Yee asked as she saw her friend running around in a panic.
"What are you wearing" Yee Li asked curiously.
"Like it? We are almost done forming a club for Avatar Aang and Air Nomads. After design our clubhouse to look similar to West Air Temple. I made this shirt based off the him as well since his the only picture any of us could find" Won-Yee told her
"Take off, Take off as there is a very important guest coming and I want everything to be perfect for him" Yee-Li said.
"Why as this is based off YOUR picture of him after all and it was YOUR idea. Also you have not been stopping by as much lately either. Always claiming you have something else to do" Won-Yee said narrowing her eyes towards her friend.
"I have my reason as this guest has some very important and priceless knowledge that they can give us on Air Nomad culture. I just do not want him to get the wrong idea we are just fan girls so things must be perfect" she told her.
"Come it not like you managed to get…." Won-Yee said yet her mouth just hung open as she stared forward at something.
"What wrong with the shirt as I think it looked nice" Aang said as stood there looking it over.
"Avatar Aang, umm…I…ohhh…welcome to our clubhouse" Yee Li said in a rush.
"Yes! Welcome to the Official Avatar Aang Fan Club" Won-Yee said managing to find her voice again.
Aang then looked around as this place was rather interesting and something he clearly would not have seen during the war. Probably again people interesting in his culture did not want to alert the attention of the Fire Nation even in Ba Sing Se where the war was kept secret until basically the fall city itself.
As he continued looking around the small clubhouse, Won-Yee pulled Yee-Li to the side for second.
"Where did you managed to find the Avatar and not only that but managed to get him here to our club" she asked.
"I just happened to run into him about a week ago and well various things happened. However there something else that might blow your mind as well" her friend replied.
Running over to Aang she whisper something that the clubhouse designer could not hear. When they both came over to her, she saw that Aang was airbending while holding Yee-Li's arms seeming to make as if she was airbending herself. Then he let go them and she seem to be struggling a bit but was keeping up the act of airbending herself.
"Okay….Okay what's the trick here as both you and I know neither one of use are benders" Won-Yee said amazed but not accepting what she was seeing.
Yee-Li then went about explaining how she discover that her grandmother was actually an Air Nomad. That while the ability skipped her mother it was something that she had gone and learned was discovered by playing a flute only airbenders could play. That she was getting training from Aang to learn airbending along with various talks about how to discover if there were more people like herself out in the world. People who did not know they were airbenders cause the methods for knowing had been unpracticed for over a century now.
"So it possible that I could be an airbender then" Won-Yee asked somewhat excited at the possible of not just reading about airbending but actually being able to do it as well.
To which Last Air Nomad merely shrugged his shoulders as the only way to find out would be make some methods for seeing who was an airbender or not. After all his people did not have such test at least from what he knew, since all Air Nomads were airbenders there was not need for such things. Yet since he was starting things over maybe it was time to create some.
