Leo awoke and felt that Krang was still next to him. He snuggled closer to him and nuzzled his face futher into his side.

Krang chuckled, a sound that reverberated through Leo. "Looks like someone slept well."

Leo turned to face Krang. Even though he couldn't see, he knew it was polite to at least face whoever he was talking to. "Good morning to you too," Leo yawned.

Leo thought for a second and furrowed his brow. "Did anyone come in here while I was asleep?" He snorted. "Did they ever realize I didn't watch their movie? Whatever it was going to be."

Leo felt Krang frown. "Yes. It was weird. Michelangelo came in here right after you fell asleep, probably to check on us for Donnie. He just looked at us, smiled, and left."

Leo smiled. "Looks like someone's accepting you, Krang."

Krang flinched. "You think so? Already?"

"I've been paying attention to my brothers and it seems that Mikey is the most forgiving out of all of them. Seems my prediction was right. Mikey is the first to be okay with enemies becoming friends."

Leo could tell Krang was smiling. "That's nice..."

Leo suddenly heard footsteps coming towards them. Light footsteps. Mikey.

"Hey, what do you guys want for breakfast?" Mikey asked politely.

Leo was quick to answer. "Waffles. I haven't eaten any in a whole year and this bozo here has never had them. I need to show him the proper way to eat them before I forget and it's too late to teach him the best way to do so. I do not want my best friend eating waffles like a lunatic."

Mikey giggled. "Okay, that I can do. Be in the kichen in twenty minutes then." He walked away to complete his newly given task.

Leo reached over to his nightstand to grab his gear.

He put on his bracelet and turned it on to setting ten, the usual. Then he tied on his mask and put on some shorts he found, he had no idea what they looked like. Bummer.

Krang suddenly grabbed him and lifted him into the air.

"Krang, what are you doing?"

Krang laughed. "Remember that game we played that one time? Do you want to play it again?"

Leo remembered which one he was talking about. He grinned. "Yeah, I do." As a second thought, he added, "Let's give Raph a heart attack."

Krang strode out of the bedroom with Leo still in the air. They headed into the kichen where they knew everyone would be.

Once the duo entered, Mikey greeted them with a wave.

"What are you doing?" the resident chef asked after seeing Leo being lifted by Krang's tentacles.

Leo smiled. "We're playing a game."

Mikey looked at them skeptically, shrugged, and continued making breakfast.

Raph was sitting at the table, he looked half asleep in his chair. That would change soon, though.

Krang moved over to the table and stood right next to it. He then proceeded with their game by throwing Leo into the air and then catching him.

The response was instantaneous. Raph was wide awake now. "What are you doing?!"

"Playing our game." Krang threw Leo up again.

"Stop! That's dangerous!" Raph commanded.

Leo giggled as Krang threw him up again and again.

"No, it's not. I'll always catch him. I would never let him fall."

Raph gulped. "Why're you doing this?"

"Because it's fun!" Leo squealed.

Krang threw him up again as Raph looked on in horror.

Donnie choose that moment to arrive.

"What are you doing?!" Donnie screeched.

"What are you doing?!"

At the accusing tone, Krang immediately set Leo down onto the ground.

"You better not be hurting him!" Donnie face resembled someone who was ready to murder.

"He wasn't hurting me. We were just playing," Leo tried convincing.

Mikey was quick to back him up. "Yeah. He wasn't hurting him. They were playing a game."

Donnie scowled. "I don't like that you let him do that, Leo. He could have dropped you."

Leo rolled his blind eyes. "Donnie, you need to chill. Krang wasn't doing anything wrong."

"Yeah... but he could've." Donnie was not backing down.

Leo clenched his fists. "Do you have something you want to say?"

Donnie glared at Krang. "Yeah, but not to him. Not right now. Can I talk to you in private?"

Leo nodded and reached over to Krang and layed a hand on his side for a brief second. Reassurance that he would work things out. It would be fine.

Leo walked out of the kichen and into the hallway. Donnie followed.

Once they were out of the kichen, Leo turned to Donnie and crossed his arms. "What did you want to say?"

Donnie sighed tiredly. "How can you trust him? After what he did to us. After what he did to you."

Leo smiled fondly. "When you're stuck in a dimension that is trying to make your life misserable, you tend to make friends with the other occupants, even if they tried taking over your planet. If you don't, you'll probably go insane."

"Okay..." Donnie said skeptically. "But how did you forgive him so easily?"

Leo sighed. "It wasn't easy. He did a lot to help me before I fully forgave him. And you have to remember that forgiving is not saying what they did was okay, it just means that you do not hold their actions against them. Krang made up for his mistakes... by allowing himself to change into a better person. That's why I forgave him."

Donnie looked to be in thought for a second. "I guess that makes sense. You said he built the chip implanted into your head that allows you to, somewhat, see. How did you trust him enough to let him do that?"

Leo grimaced. "I barly trusted him at that point. I just knew that my life would basically be over if I didn't trust him with that. I couldn't navigate anything without vision. I couldn't memorize it either. The Prison Dimension is ever changing."

Donnie seemed to be in thought for a few moments. "I guess that makes sense."

"Donnie, can you promise me something?"

"Depends on what it is."

Leo chuckled at Donnie's dramatics. "I want you to give Krang a chance."

Donnie looked like he was going to interrupt.

"No. Hear me out. All I want you to do is give him one chance. That's it. No more trying to kill him behind my back. No more glaring at him when you think he's not looking, okay?"

"How did-"

"I have all around vision now, remember? I'm not limited to what I see based on where I'm facing. Just one chance, Don, that's all I'm asking."

Donnie smiled. "I think I can do that. But to make this clear, I'm only doing this for you."

Leo chuckled. "Of course, Dee. I wouldn't assume anything else from you."

Leo walked back into the kichen. Everyone had started eating, except for Krang.

Mikey was sitting next the Krang, so the other side must be for Leo.

"Leo, I waited for you to start eating. I didn't want to, as you said, 'eat waffles like a lunatic'. You need to teach me the proper way before I fall to temptation and eat these before you can show me." Krang gestured to the waffles on his plate.

Leo chuckled. "Of course. Sorry for making you wait." He sat down. "See, the trick is to cut it into squares along the lines. If you do so, it has these little pools that you can fill with syrup. Thus, you get the optimal amount of the sugary substance."

Krang did as he was told. "I see how this is helpful. Syrup, I heard from Mikey, is really good."

Leo stared at Krang. "How did you cut so easily? I didn't think you knew how to use silverware. I barely remember how."

Krang beamed. "I used a spoon last night for the first time. I'm practically an expert now." Krang looked proud of himself.

Leo fumbled with the fork, trying to get the right angle. "Man, this is hard. I guess not using one of these for a whole year will make it harder."

The table went silent.

Leo looked up to see what happened.

They were all looking at him.

"Don't say that, Leo. I hate to think about that," Mikey finally said.

"Say what?" Leo asked, confused.

"You were in there for a year. I hate that we left you there," Mikey looked close to tears.

Leo was surprised. "Hey, it's okay. It's not your fault. It's also not that big of a deal. Krang got us out. We're alright now."

Krang nodded while feeding himself with more waffle.

Leo needed to lift the gloomy mood, so he brought up the previous topic again. "I seriously don't know how you can do that."

Krang hummed in question.

"Use silverware with you tentacles. How do you not drop the fork?"

Krang hesitated. "Uh... dedication? And a lot of power tool training."

Leo nodded. "I guess that makes sense. Hey, Donnie, how about you see what this buffoon is capable of in your lab. You could build something together. You know, scientist to scientist."

Donnie brightened. "Yes! We could accomplish so much together! Oh, the possibilities! We could-"

Leo cut him off. "No taking over the world. Krang already tried that and it didn't work."

"Stop raining on our parade," Donnie mumbled.

Leo laughed. "Oh, Donnie, how I missed you."

Donnie grinned. "I would be offended if you didn't."

After breakfast, Leo headed to the dojo. He had sort of kept up with his training in the Prison Dimension, but he really needed more practice.

Breakfast had been... an event to say the least. Leo and Krang told everyone how they got back, and the events leading up to it. Mikey had cried in joy at one point, thankful that Leo had come back.

Krang and Donnie went to the lab as soon as breakfast was over. They had spent the last ten minutes of the meal discussing the best welder brand. Krang didn't know Earth brands, so Donnie briefed him on the subject. They were eager to build something together and test each others skills.

Leo was glad that they were hanging out together, but that meant that Leo didn't have his friend to hang out with. Hence why he was heading to the dojo.

Leo entered and immediately headed for the weapons rack.

He had lost his swords before he was trapped in the Prison Dimension, now they were somewhere here on Earth. He would find them eventually, but for now Leo reached for a single katana. Back to basics.

Making sure to stretch first, he started with some simple maneuvers. He didn't want to strain himself, or Krang would scold him.

After ten minutes of training, Mikey entered. He stood by the door, probably waiting until he thought Leo noticed him.

Jokes on him, Leo has all around vision now. He saw Mikey the moment he touched the dojo's door.

Leo stopped swinging his sword and stood still. "Hey, dude, what's up?"

Mikey jumped, clearly not expecting that. "Oh, I forgot your like a bat now."

Leo chuckled. "Hey, I said I didn't like that comparison. Stop that."

Mikey smiled. "You know I won't. Anyway, I wanted to talk to you."

Leo quirked a brow. "About what?"

Mikey looked nervous. "Nothing in particular. We just haven't been able to talk alone since you got back."

Leo smiled. "Okay. Do you want to train with me?"

Mikey nodded and unsheathed his nunchucks.

Even though Mikey came in here to talk, they didn't say anything during their spar session.

They sparred for half an hour, until Mikey claimed he was tired.

After they were sitting down on a bench, Leo said, "Hey, I have a question for you."

Mikey hummed in acknowledgement.

"You have been totally cool with Krang being here. You've had no problem with it the whole time. Why is that?"

Mikey looked thoughtful. "He brought you back when we couldn't, I think I can handle not being hostile to him."

Leo did not expect that answer, he hugged Mikey. "Thank you. I really appreciate you being kind to him. It means a lot to me. More than you making waffles for me."

Mikey laughed and hugged him back. "Anything for you, Leo."

They chatted for the next hour, just hanging out together and enjoying each others company.

Leo found himself later heading to Donnie's lab. He wanted to be near Krang again. He missed him. When you're near someone for a whole year and then you suddenly separate, you tend to miss them easily.

Leo entered the lab to find Krang and Donnie hunched over a bunch of notes on a table.

Donnie was the first to notice him. "Hey, Leo! Come over here! We got something to show you!"

Leo held in a joke he was going to make about 'seeing' it and headed over.

Krang glanced at him and smiled warmly. Leo smiled back and turned to face Donnie.

Donnie grinned excitedly. "Krang and I were planning on building this." Donnie showed him a piece of paper.

Leo held in a laugh and glared at him. "You know I can't see what's on the paper."

Krang let out a muffled laugh. "How ironic."

Leo was confused at why Krang said that, until Donnie corrected himself. "Oh, right. Sorry about that. Well, it's supposed to be an attachment to the implant in your brain. It won't need to be directly connected, so no more surgery. But it will allow you to see color. If we use the technology that's already there, we can-"

Donnie was cut off by Leo suddenly hugging him.

"Thank you... thank you so much..." Leo whispered, close to tears. Donnie really didn't have to do this. Leo loved that he was.

Leo pulled back quickly, not wanting to cry, and said, "And don't think I forgot about you, Krang. Thank you both for trying to help me. It means the world to me."

Donnie smiled. "Well, it was mostly Krang's doing. I'm just going to be supplying him and being his other opinion on all things technical."

Leo groaned. "Stop down playing yourself, Don. You and I both know that you won't be able to just stand by and watch."

Donnie smirked. "You know me too well."

Lep smiled. He loved that Donnie was getting along with Krang. He didn't know what he would do if Donnie continued his hate towards Leo's best friend. It would surely ruin their family's relaionship with each other. It seemed that things were finally going right.

Leo hoped it stayed that way.

"Hey, Donnie, are you working on anything else?"

Donnie grinned. "I'm glad you asked. I started working on some new security updates since the... attack. I would like your input on the matter."

Leo smiled. "Sure thing, Dee."

After helping Donnie with the security system and eating lunch, Leo sat on the living room couch to play go fish with Mikey. Leo was lucky Mikey had some specialy designed cards with the numbers slightly popping out, otherwise he wouldn't be able to play.

"Have any two's?" Leo asked.

Mikey smirked. "Go fish."

After their second round, Leo declaring three out of five after Mikey beat him twice, Raph entered the room.

"Hey, where's Donnie?" He questioned.

"He is in his lab with Krang. They were building something together," Leo answered.

"Creepy," Raph muttered.

Leo quirked a brow. "What is?"

Raph looked nervous. "Oh, you just don't look at us when you talk to us now. I guess it'll take some getting used to that."

Leo frowned. "Oh, sorry. If it makes you more comfortable, I can make more of an effort to look at you guys. Even though I can see you guys, I'm not using my eyes to do so, so I've kind of gotten used to not looking at things with my eyes."

Mikey grinned. "Cool..." He waved a hand in front of Leo's face.

Leo slapped the hand away. "Which means, I can see you doing that. It does not help me focus more though, Mikey. So stop."

Raph nodded in understanding. "Wait, you said Donnie was with Krang?"

"Yeah."

"And Donnie's cool with that?"

"Yeah."

Raph started figiting. "Oh, okay... Well... I came to tell you guys that April's coming over soon, so be ready for that. I told her that you were back, Leo. But I didn't tell here about anything else."

Leo groaned. "Well, that'll be fun. I'm sure her reaction will be better than your's was." He said sarcastically.

Raph smiled. "She yelled at me through the phone for ten minutes. She wanted to come immediately, but her parents wouldn't let her. I think she threatened them with her baseball bat."

"Sounds like the April I know."

Raph came closer to Leo and sat down next to him crossed legged. "Can we cuddle? I miss it."

Leo smiled at him. "Yeah, totally."

Leo sat on Raph's lap and continued playing go fish. He was barely focused though. He kept thinking about the reunion that was going to happen. He hoped that April would accept the changes that Leo brought with him on his return.

Leo happily continued his game with Mikey for the next half hour, until he heard a commotion in the entrance area. It sounded like someone was yelling.

"What's going on over there?" Leo asked.

Leo felt Raph shrug his shoulders. "I don't know. April's probably here."

Leo responded with an "oh." Then he suddenly remembered that Raph said he didn't tell April anything. That included everything about Krang. Leo jerked out of Raph's lap and scrambled to stand up.

"I've got to see what's going on. You didn't tell her about Krang, did you? If she is here..." he trailed off.

Raph seemed to find his mistake pretty quickly after Leo said that. "Oh no..."

Leo turned and ran to the entrance where he was sure to find April.

When he turned the corner, he noticed Donnie and Krang were both by the entrance along with April. Man, he missed her.

April had her baseball bat out and looked like she was going to murder someone with it. She probably was. And it was probably going to be Krang.

"Don't worry April, it's-" Donnie began.

"Shup up," April scowled.

Donnie backed away in fear.

"He deserves to die for what he did," she growled.

Without warning, she swung her bat at Krang with full force, probably with the intention of ending him.

Without hesitation, Leo flung himself towards Krang in an attempt to intercept the blow and stop his best friend from being hit.

"No!" Leo shouted and held out his hands in a pathetic attempt to stop the impact from happening.

Krang would have been fine. Leo didn't have to do it. But he did. He must be stupid.

The bat hit his arm with a sickening CRACK! He felt pure, white hot pain for a brief second, then everything went black.

Leo really was stupid sometimes, wasn't he?
