It was Friday night. Lorelai was finally getting her girl's night with Becca. She headed over to her place bringing over dessert. She knocked on the door.

Theo opened the door. "Hello. Come on in. Don't worry I am heading out. I won't interrupt your girl's night." He said

"Oh. Well, we can always make you an honorary girl." Lorelai said with a smirk.

"Funny." He said. "She is just getting out of the shower. She got back later than she expected." He said as he led her to the living room where they both sat.

"Not a problem," Lorelai said. She made sure Becca wasn't in earshot and she lowered her voice. "Derek told me. About some things."

Theo nodded. "He mentioned. I appreciate the help. I'm at a loss for what is going on." He said his voice lowered as well.

"So, she has been drinking excessively? Anything else?" She asked

"Cancelling plans with me. We were supposed to go on a date last weekend, but she ended up going out with some 'friends' I don't know who, but she came home drunk off her ass." He said "Again." He said. "She seems to have a new group of friends that I know nothing about. I don't know if it's people from work or what. But she comes home drunk more often than not lately." He said

Lorelai took a breath and nodded. "Be warned. She is going to be pissed off with you. Because I'm not going to beat around the bush." She said

"Oh. She knows I told her dad, and she wasn't thrilled. I can take the annoyed Becca if it means we can find out what's going on." He said

Lorelai nodded.

Becca came out a few minutes later. "Hey!" she said

Lorelai got up and hugged her. "Hey!" Lorelai said back

Theo got up. "Well. I'm heading out. See you later." He said. He kissed Becca before he left.

"Want a drink?" Becca asked.

"Just water," Lorelai said

"I have your favorite wine," Becca said

"That's sweet. But not drinking tonight. I'm driving after all. And am working tomorrow." She pointed out

"A glass or two right now. After we eat and stuff it will be out of your system won't it? And working on a Saturday?" Becca asked

Lorelai took a breath. "Unfortunately, I got myself into some hot water. Consequence. I will be spending the next few Saturdays cleaning and organizing the record room with a couple of other agents who volunteered." Lorelai said. She looked up at her friend concern clear in her eyes.

Becca sighed. "So. Was it Theo or my dad who told you?"

"Your dad," Lorelai said.

"Great. So, this girl's night a ruse so you can force me to talk about something that is none of your business?" Becca asked

"Not my business huh?" Lorelai asked

"No. It's no one's business. I'm a full-grown adult and will do what I please. I'm not breaking any laws." Becca said

"Shut up and sit down," Lorelai said.

Becca rolled her eyes and went into the kitchen.

Lorelai got up and followed her and blocked her in the kitchen. "You are going to talk about this. Because I'm scared for you. Coming home more often than not drunk? Cancelling dates to go out with some new friends and get drunk? This is not you."

"Well, maybe this is me. Maybe I'm no better than the other people from our hometown." Becca yelled

"That's a bullshit excuse and you know it!" Lorelai said

"Move," Becca said

"No," Lorelai said standing her ground. "I will not move until you tell me what's going on." She added

"Don't make me move you," Becca said

"Ha. You can try. Let's not forget who is the trained agent. I will take you down in one move." Lorelai said crossing her arms.

Becca narrowed her eyes.

"Yeah. That won't work. I don't want to have to go to your funeral because you died from alcohol poisoning. So, if I have to deal with you being pissed off I will do it." Lorelai said

Becca went to the fridge and took out a bottle of wine. Lorelai went over and took it and put it in her sink. "I will dump every bit of alcohol in this place if I have to," Lorelai said

Becca shook her head and reached for the bottle.

Lorelai took the bottle and dropped it hard into the sink so it would break and spill the contents.

Becca's jaw dropped. "Seriously?"

"Rebecca. I am not playing around here. I will not lose my best friend to the bottle without a fight. I will not let you just be another statistic of that town. You are better than that." Lorelai said

"You know this is my place. I can just kick you out." Becca said

"You can try," Lorelai said.

"I will call the police and tell them you are not welcome," Becca said.

"I outrank the police. All I have to do is show them my badge." Lorelai said

Becca growled.

"So. This is what is going to happen. You will grab a bottle of water and you will go sit down and pretend for right now that I'm the big sister and talk to me about what is going on. Or I can find a way to get you into a rehab center and you will lose everything you have fought so hard for." Lorelai said

"You wouldn't," Becca said

"I don't want to have to. But I told you I'm not playing here. So, you have a decision to make." Lorelai said

Becca took a breath and went and grabbed a couple of bottles of water and handed one to Lorelai.

Lorelai stepped out of the way so she could go to the living room.

They both went and sat down and were quiet. Lorelai wasn't going to push it anymore. As long as she was sitting in the room Lorelai would let her talk when she was ready.

Becca looked at her phone when it went off and sighed.

"One of your new friends?" Lorelai asked

"No. My boss." Becca said

"Having issues at work?" Lorelai asked

"I can't go into too many details. But one of the cases we are working on. Has ties to our hometown. And it didn't take people long to find out I'm from there. I'm not on the case anymore but my boss has been asking me to tell her what I can that could help the case. And I don't want to." Becca said

"Well. She can't force you to can she?" Lorelai asked

"She can subpoena me on the stands to testify to help our client," Becca said.

"Would she do that?" Lorelai asked

"I don't know. She hasn't said she would, but she knows the law better than I do. If I can figure out she can do that so can she." Becca said

"When did this case come to your office?" Lorelai asked

"A few weeks ago," Becca said.

"Please tell me you are not getting drunk so much so you can be classified as a bad witness?" Lorelai said

Becca chuckled "No. Of course not. I'm not that stupid."

"You're not stupid at all," Lorelai said

Becca sighed

"Well. Can you just tell her that you don't want to be involved and that it's too many demons for you?" Lorelai said

"I tried. Which is why I'm not working the case anymore." Becca said

"Look. I get it when the past comes back to haunt us. It's hard. Wasn't long ago I was dealing with a repressed memory. I told you about it remember?" Lorelai asked

"Yup. I remember." Becca said giving her a look.

Lorelai gasped. "NO! no! Your firm is NOT representing- her!"

Becca let tears fall. "I didn't get a say…."

"How could you not get a say? She hurt you too! You told me!" Lorelai said

"I would have to tell my boss that!" Becca said.

"What the hell does she think you know that would HELP your client?" Lorelai asked

"I don't know. I told her I don't know anything that would help but she keeps pushing." Becca said

"Aren't you required by law to tell your boss if something like this is the case?" Lorelai asked

"Nope. Only required to excuse myself from the case. Which I did." Becca said

"Becca. This is killing you. You need to tell her. For your mental health. Please." Lorelai said

"I can't," Becca said in tears.

"Yes. You can." Lorelai said gently. She pulled her friend into a tight hug. "Is this why your drinking?"

Becca nodded and sobbed.

Lorelai took a breath and just held her. She got her answer, but she didn't like it.

Becca sobbed herself to sleep. Lorelai laid her down on her couch and grabbed the blanket that was on the back of it and covered her before sitting on a chair in the room.

She texted Theo and Derek.

Lorelai Hotchner: "I figured out what is going on. She has to be the one to tell you. But if I was in her situation I don't know that I would be handling it much better."

A few hours later Theo came in. He saw her asleep. "How long has she been asleep?"

"A few hours," Lorelai said. "She sobbed herself to sleep."

"Damn. It's bad then," Theo said.

"Yeah. Don't think it could get much worse." Lorelai said

"She's not dying is she?" Theo asked

"No. Nothing like that." Lorelai said. "I would tell you if that was the case."

Theo nodded. "You sure you can't give me any information?"

"I can't…" Lorelai said

Theo nodded. "I understand. Do you think at least talking to you will have helped her enough to get through the problem?"

"I honestly don't know," Lorelai said

Theo nodded.

"I'm sorry. I will keep talking with her about it to try and help." Lorelai said

"I get it. It's okay." Theo said

Becca woke up shortly after and refused to tell Theo anything. She did tell him she was sorry that she had been a lot lately. And would try and work through the issue better.

Theo hugged her. "I just want to help you."

"I get that, but I can't talk about it. Technically she figured it out on her own." Becca said

"I can't help you if you won't talk to me," Theo said.

"Well. It's something I have to handle on my own." Becca said

"I'm going to go," Lorelai said. "You should tell him. And tell your dad. And the other person who needs to know." Lorelai said before she hugged her and headed out.
