Two days after was the next Hogsmeade visit Lily, James, and Sirius, and his date, Shannon went together, while Remus was with Mary, and Marls was still with Benjy; Peter was with Sarah.
James and Lily were hoping to dump Sirius and Shannon so that they could enjoy some alone time. But Sirius dragged them into three broomsticks, on a table, and only one girl was sitting there.

He then grabbed James' arm and pulled him near that table,"Haaaave you met James?" and then pushed James to set next to her, winking at Amy. She began talking to James politely, so James did the same. Sirius started to leave and James try to stand too but Sirius pushed him back to the sit. "Talk to her you git, don't be rude," he whispered. "I will go and get drinks."

Shannon explained to Lily about Sirius' plan, Lily was getting angry at first but then decided to play and see how James reacts.

Lily, Shannon, and Sirius sit across the table, while James was next to Amy, he was continuously stealing glances at Lily, to see if she was angry but to his surprise, she looked relaxed and was talking happily to Shannon and Sirius.

"We will leave you both together, we three have some important things to do," announced Sirius, this was not what Lily wanted, but Sirius dragged her too. James tried to leave but Sirius forced him back to his seat.

Spending the rest of the visit with Sirius and Shannon was not what she wanted, but she couldn't go back into three broomsticks, so she instead joined Remus and Mary.

"I can't stand Sirius talking nonsense, Shannon may be able to keep up with it but not me," said Lily.

"What about James?" asked Mary.

"We set a date for Prongs with Amy Glen," replied Remus smugly.

"Amy is a nice girl, don't you think Lily?" asked Mary.

"Yeah she is good, but I don't think she is of James' type," said Lily.

"She is our best option, we wanted to cheer up Prongs, and since he hasn't dated anyone for a long time, we thought this is what he needs," said Sirius joining them, Shannon has gone to buy notebooks.

"Anyway, who do you think is of James' type, Lily ?" asked Mary with raised eyebrows.

"I . . . . . I don't know, but definitely not Amy," replied Lily.

They met up with James and Amy after an hour when they entered three broomsticks, James was now sitting on the opposite side. After talking for another half an hour they all decided to return to the castle. Lily walked slowly and was behind everyone, James did the same and joined her, this brought a smile to Lily's face.

"On Balcony, tonight," she whispered and James nodded

"Why did you she had the impression that we were on a date?" asked James and Sirius who smirked. They were in their dorm.

"We did you a favour, she is an innocent and nice girl, and we helped you by setting you up with her," said Remus.

"I am not interested in dating, but then also you set me up with Amy," said James," and now she is under the impression that we are dating."

"That was what we wanted," said Sirius, "to get you a date, so you could take out all your. .. hormones."

"But I didn't want to date her," groaned James.

"Is it about Lily?" asked Remus.

"No, that is very different there, it's . . we are best friends," said James.

"Good because we asked Lily and that's what she wants too," said Sirius.

"Why aren't you interested in dating?" asked Peter.

"I just, a lot is going on, okay, it's all complicated," answered James.

"So, how was your date?" asked Lily.

"Lils, you know very well it wasn't a date. I probably talked to her for the first time, since 4th year, when she was paired with me in potions after I exploded Snape's cauldron for the continuously third day," said James, smirking at the thought.

"So, what next?"

"I tried to tell her I am not into dating but she didn't seem to understand that, it's all because of Padfoot,"

"He is stupid at these things, but he tried to help, they even asked me if there's something going on between us."

"And what did you say?"

"We are close friends,"

"So, why is there a gap between us?" James grinned, before pulling her closer.

After an eternity, Lily's head was rested on his shoulder as they watched the stars.

"Do you still get nightmares?" asked Lily.

"I had one today at around 4,"

"What are they about?"

"Strange things, it's mostly related to a boy and deaths and other horrible things, it's like seeing a memory of someone," replied James. "

"That's odd, you should tell some teachers."

"I am waiting for Dumbledore, to tell him, but he is absent from school."

The next day Sirius invited Amy to sit with them and slid to let her sit with James, Amy was a polite girl, and friendly, and giving her the wrong impression was not what James wanted, so he slowly slid in opposite direction and to both delight and bad-luck Lily was sitting on his other side, and she was not a good girl like many had the impression of her.

As James slid away from Amy and closer to Lily, she took the opportunity to make life hell as well as heaven for James, she removed her shoes from her right leg and started moving up and down his leg, and enjoyed it when James' breathe hitched, as his eyes widened. James tried with all his might to focus on his food and what others were saying but failed, he looked at Lily who was having a smug look on her face.

James wasn't going to leave her for this, he put one of his hands down the table, and slowly after making sure no one could see, he placed it on her thighs and chuckled when she straightened and took a deep breath.

Lily wasn't going to step back, her toes slid under the end of his pants, and were in contact with his skin, then she leaned into him while she take the plate of sandwiches, her skin brushed against his. James' thumb was now drawing circles on her inner thigh.

Now, it was very much, for both of them.

Lily was the first to act she silently focused on the Jug of pumpkin juice and plate of food in front of them, and they exploded so only she and James were covered with it. Their friends laughed at this. She nudged James eyeing him to give him the signal.

"Who did this?" asked Lily angrily standing and James stood up too.

"Whoever did this it was funny, look at your faces, covered in food and pumpkin juice," roared Sirius with laughter.

Lily looks at James, an understanding passing between them.

"We should clean and change, we have 20 minutes for our classes," said James, and they both left.

"They could have used magic," said Remus.

"Both are idiots and besides it doesn't feel that good until you are properly clean and changed," said Marls to cover up for the two idiots who left.

They couldn't even wait to return to Gryffindor tower as James pulled her into a broom cupboard and Lily with a flick of a wand cleaned the food from both of them.

"It was hot," said James, and Lily nodded before they launched on each other.

James and Lily's teasing act continued, all week, James had finally after taking advice from both Marls and Lily, politely made Amy understand that he wasn't interested in dating her, they could be friends.

But the next day, things got exciting.

The seven of them were sitting in The Great Hall for breakfast, and Lily and James were sitting opposite to each other, playing with their legs under the table. It was then that Sirius noticed something on James' neck.

"Prongs you have got a hickey," Sirius didn't mean to shout, but he shouted and the entire Great Hall turned to look at Sirius, some boys at Gryffindor's table wolf-whistled.

"I. . . I haven't," said James pulling up his collar, "Just quidditch injury."

But Sirius didn't buy it, he pulled down James' hand then his collar, and found there were not one but three hickeys on his neck down to his chest.

"Don't lie, they are hickeys, I myself have received many and given many, I am confident it is," shouted Sirius.

"Fine, fine, it is, now stop shouting," hissed James and then he looked at Lily whose face was lowered and matched the colour of her hair. He slightly kicked at her leg. It was from last evening after he has returned from quidditch practice and had found a note in his robes.

"Who is it?" asked all of them except Lily and Marls.

"I am not telling you,"

"Casual, having fun and then dumping her," suggested Sirius with a smirk.

"No," said James.

"Secret girlfriend," suggested Mary.

"Yes,"

"Who?" all of them asked again.

"I am not telling, she is a 'secret', for a reason," said James.

All of them began asking him many questions but he just shook his head.

The news about James Potter having a secret girlfriend spread as a fire in the castle, while many girls claimed themself to be the one and others guessed, no one guessed it to be Lily Evans, not after the fighting show they put up in the Great Hall.

"POTTER!" said Lily, it was lunchtime, and everyone was having their lunch peacefully when Lily Evans entered the Great Hall and made her way toward him.

"Yes, Evans," said James innocently.

"Did you put all these in my bag?" asked Lily holding three fake but big and scary spiders in her hands, "And scribbled all over my charms notebook?"

"It was an accident,"

"An accident?"

"Yes, and it is funny, why do you have to be angry all the time, just chill and enjoy."

"Chill and enjoy when you have destroyed my notebooks and put three big spiders in my bag that scared the hell out of me."

"It was fun,"

"Come with me, I will show you what else you have done, you are so going to die today," said Lily pulling James out of the Great Hall.

"I warned him not to do that," said Peter.

"He also charmed all her quills to write wrong things," said Mary.

The entire great hall had heard this angry conversation, it came after nearly a year, that they had such a fight, just like this fight in all others fight Lily was the one shouting at James for his mischief. It was common for Hogwarts to see them like this, so it didn't shock them.

Snape however was delighted, he had been thinking all the time since he returned to hurt Potter, but hadn't found an opening yet. Today's fight means they had broken apart. Snape had heard about Potter's secret girlfriend and had thought it to be Lily, but now he was sure it was some other girl that Potter had got and Lily had got angry at him and then Potter did something stupid and Lily's hatred is back. So, Snape put the task of hurting Potter behind him and started planning to befriend Lily again, but this time he will try to be polite, he had asked for tips from some Slytherin girls he trusted, telling the lie that it was for a pureblood Ravenclaw girl.

This is the perfect time for Lily being angry at James, she would see how good Snape was and forgive him. It was now back Lily hates Potter.

But does Lily hates James?

Or was it just a trick to stop them from guessing Lily is the one and to steal James away?

"You are a good actor," smirked James.

"It was your idea though," said Lily."I haven't seen this passageway before."

"Benefit of dating a Marauder," winked James and then started snogging her.

After a few eternities later they made their way to the Transfiguration class, making it barely in time. Only the last two seats were empty now, they took that seat.

They were today doing 'Feather Duster to Ferret', it was to be done non-verbally. James, sat relaxed in his seat, hands behind his head, he watched with a grin as others tried and failed to do it, some people tried to say the spell under their breath, but either were caught by Minnie or were pointed out by James.

"Mr Potter, you should focus on your own work," said Minnie.

"I was just helping you, Minnie," said James.

"You should at least try," said Lily, who was taking notes from the board first.

"Only if you will lend me your notes, and. . "

"And?"

He leaned closer to her and whispered something in her ear and received a few hits by Lily's notebook in his hand.

"Just because I give you some freedom, doesn't mean you can start wherever you want," said Lily.

"But it was you, who gave me those hickeys, and now everyone thinks I have a secret girlfriend, although I have one, so I should give you one too,"

"You are not doing anything like that,"

"I will,"

"I will not kiss you again then," she said.

"You can't resist me," Lily blushed.

"Fine, I will tell others about the balcony,"

"No, you will not,"

"And that you fell twice from the broom,"

"You will not,"

"Oh, I surely will,"

"It was because of you I fall if you hadn't. . . " but before he could finish Minnie shouted at them.

"Potter and Evans, you can continue your fighting after the class, but if you will continue your fighting then leave my class,"

"Sorry, Professor," both of them said together.

"Now, show me the transfiguration,"

James, as usual, did it easily, but Lily too after her third attempt did it and thus earned 5 points.

"It was your mistake that my dear Minnie shouted at me,"

"It was you who said that and then started all this,"

"So, I can do it?" James smirked.

Lily hit him with the notebook again, "You are incorrigible,"

"Ms Evans and Mr Potter enough, do it again and you will get detention, and Ms Evans you are not allowed to hit anyone with books, last warning," said Minnie.

"But Professor, it was his mistake, he is annoying and disturbing me,"

"I am not Minnie,"

"Enough you two, you will not speak another word," said Minnie. And the two of them sat silently arms crossed not looking at each other.

Snape watched them triumphantly, Merlin this day was what all he was asking for.

Here, on the last seat, James dropped his quill intently, and then bend to pick it, his hands playing with her legs, brushing it as he straightened. Lily inhaled sharply at this and couldn't help the smile forming on her lips.

So, Lily met with James in the library, and by the time they had done their essay and other important things, it was already 7:30.

Lily left the library and waited outside the door as James was scolded by Prince for writing things on books and not returning the books on time. It was Lily's mistake, they had been studying charms and she had written a trick in the book to help James perform the charm easily and both had forgotten to erase it. Though other things were due to James' own mistake.

Lily leaned against the wall, closed her eyes, and smiled as she thought of the day, it has been an exciting and happy day, each class had been fun, and then spending time with James alone in Library has made the day even better.

It was then that a greasy-haired boy approached her, but she didn't notice.

"Lily," said the boy in a soft voice that he had practised a lot.

"Hmm," said Lily without thinking as she was still lost in her happy memories.

"Lily, I am really sorry for everything," said the boy and now Lily snapped open her eyes and straightened, the smile dropping from her face.

"Lily, I made a lot of mistakes, please forgive me," he had taken the recommendation from Slytherin girls and used it.

Lily looked at him sadly, her happiness replaced by sadness and pain," I am not forgiving you for just accepting the fact that you made mistakes,"

"Lily, please, I am sorry I called you a mud- that, it was just I was angry and lost control."

"Lost control to speak the truth, I suppose? Well, it was a truth that I am a 'mudblood.'"

"I am sorry, I will never call you that again, please forgive me for that."

"Me? But you will call others that then? And you should not be apologizing just for that word,"

"I am sorry for saying other things too, I was stupid, now can we be friends again?"

"Just apologizing doesn't change things, you are still with Mulciber and Avery, the future death eaters," Snape shifted uncomfortably, "and you want to join them as well, joining the people who think people like me are scum, and you want to be my friend, think what you are speaking."

"You are different, the others have flaws, but not you, you are different than them."

"I have flaws too, and I am not different from them, you are again talking nonsense things, instead of focusing on the thing that you too support their ideologies. AND I HATE THOSE BULLSHIT IDEAS," shouted Lily.

"I support them because they are right, and The Dark Lord and I have things in common, he will make sure we don't have to hide from anyone, and we will be more powerful and rule the world, don't you see how perfect it is to not to hide from those stupid muggles," said Snape.

"So, basically treating the muggles and muggleborns as slaves? My family is a muggle and I am a muggle-born, this is what is wrong with you, this is why we are no longer friends because you are standing on the wrong side of the war, you are involved in evil things which I loath."

"What's war got to do with our friendship?"

"Everything,"

"It's not your war to fight,"

"It is my war, more than anyone's else. And you are supporting the side which I am and will fight against."

"The Dark Lord has nearly conquered the war, and Lily his ideas and goals will make the future of the Wizarding World bright."

"It seems you have been meeting a lot with your Lord," said a new voice, Snape turned to see James exiting the Library and walking up and standing next to Lily.

"Fuck off, Potter, you shouldn't be here after what happened during lunch, Lily doesn't like you, don't you understand, but oh you have such a thick head that you understand nothing. Why don't you go and meet your new girlfriend, and leave us alone," snarled Snape

"You are so wrong Snivellus. By the way, you didn't answer the question I asked, and about me leaving, I don't think so, I think I am at the right place and right side, you are the one standing on the dark side, so now answer have you been seeing a lot of your Dark Lord or should I say master?" asked James with narrowed eyes.

"I don't have to answer you, and leave both of us alone. You will not want to start a duel with me," sneered Snape, "not when you are alone and your other friends are not here,"

"I don't need their help Snape to defeat you," said James, "besides I am not alone."

"James is right Snape," said Lily. "Listen, Severus, you were a good guy, and I believe there's that goodness still in you, leave their side, think about it, you want forgiveness, I will forgive you for everything just leave supporting them and leave dark arts."

"And then become nothing?" asked Snape.

"What do you mean nothing?"

"I have power, when I am with them otherwise I will become nothing, a person with no value, and I don't want that."

"That's cowardice," said James.

"I am not a coward," said Snape angrily, taking out his wand, James and Lily did the same.

"If you are not a coward, then leave them, I am not saying to fight against them, but stop supporting them, please, you are going in the wrong direction," said Lily as if begging, her eyes watery.

"You are in the wrong place, not me," said Snape.

"You met him, I know, so what you are one of them now?" asked James. Lily looked at James questioningly "He along with some others met Voldemort."

Lily looked at Snape with pure disgust and loathing, "Did you?"

Snape looked at James with anger and replied with a triumph in his voice, "Not yet, but soon I will be."

"You disgust me, Snape," spat Lily, tears falling from her eyes.

"Lily, it is the right thing to do," said Snape turning to Lily.

"Don't talk to me, not when you are now fully determined to be one of them. Leave-supporting them, it's still not late," said Lily and then turned to James, held his hand, and started leaving, James put his arm at her back to comfort her as tears fell from her eyes.

Snape watched them and anger rose in him, but then he saw 4 people coming in front of them.

"Well well look who we have got here, the mud-blood and the traitor, alone, and Severus has them," said Wilkes.

"Move aside, Jugson," said James taking out his wand and Lily did the same.

"Oh, looks like Uncle's death had no effect on him, didn't you learn your lesson?"

"Don't talk about my uncle with your dirty mouth," said James.

"Why not we teach them a lesson?" asked Mulciber.

And soon they were fighting, 4 vs 2, Snape just stood there and watched, hoping internally that someone kills Potter. He is the one who has corrupted Lily.

Dumbledore's lesson on advanced shields helped them, though the Slytherins knew a lot of spells and were good duelers, they were facing the Duel Champions, both of whom had increased their skills since then.

James' stunning spell hit Mulciber straight in his face and he was thrown backwards. Lily got a cut on her forehead but the next moment her spell hit Jugson and he was tied with ropes from foot to neck. She then sent a confondus charm at Wilkes while James' spell hit Avery and he fell to groaning in pain.

"Lily are you okay?" asked James immediately turning to her.

"Yeah I am fine," she replied.

"Oh no, there's a cut," said a concerned James and then he hugged her.

"I am fine James," she smiled.

Snape could no longer see them, intertwined in each other, hatred, jealousy and anger rose in him as his wand pointed at James and the word came out of his mouth, clear and strong.

"SECTUMSEMPRA"

Lily was looking at him, a smile on both of their faces.

"You look more beautiful when you have your warrior look on your face," said James and then his eyes widened and a painful voice left his mouth.

"James what. . ." Lily tried to say but James fell on the ground, several cuts on his body, blood flowing from every cut, soon his entire shirt was covered in blood. His body shaking uncontrollably, his breathing becoming heavier, a low groan escaping his mouth.

Lily kneeled beside him, raising his head and putting it in her lap, a terrified expression on her face, tears falling from her eyes as she looked at James struggling to open his eyes and to breathe, she too was now covered in blood. "James. . " she gasped.

She didn't notice Avery and Wilkes getting on their feet helping the other two and running away, but she heard someone say, "It was a brilliant spell, Severus, you have to teach me that one."

She knew it was his spell and she has heard the counter curse, but she was not sure what to do. Not when James was inching closer to death.

"James, please stay with me," she cried. James groaned and winced.

"Lil. . " he tried to speak but the pain didn't let him.

"I am with you James, just please don't leave me, please stay James," she said stroking his head. The bracelet in her hand was glowing brighter than ever, but no one noticed.

"HELP! PLEASE, HELP!" she shouted at the top of her voice, that the notice barrier at the Library door which was put there to maintain silence in the Library broke.

Lily looked, Snape was still standing there, it was his spell, she wanted to hurt him badly so badly, but she didn't hurt him instead she begged.

"Severus, please help, you know the counter-curse, please help him," she begged.

Snape came closer to them, "What has he done to you? You hated him. And now you are begging?"

"Severus please," cried Lily.

"You see he is worthless, he is nothing in front of me, you had to beg for him," said Severus.

"He is dying Severus, please help him," said Lily desperately.

"Why do you care, you hated him, he is arrogant, a bully, he goes around like he is greater than everyone, and now. . "

"I care for him, I like him, please help him," said Lily.

"I don't know how to help," said Snape, "If you were my friend then I might have helped him, he is nothing, leave him forever and be friends with me, please."

"Don't. . . leave. . me, please," said James in a shaky voice, looking directly at Lily's eyes, his grip on her robes tightened, his hand was shaky, tears falling from his eyes, mouth opening to take in air.

Snape was soon thrown backwards with great force, he hit the wall and fell to the ground.

Lily looked at James, "Do you trust me?" she asked.

He tried to speak but failed, so he nodded slightly.

Lily pointed her wand at the cuts, she prayed to every god in the world that the spell was correct.

"Vulnera Sanentur," she said, the cut closed, she felt relieved and repeated the spell at every cut. Shouting for help in between.

Soon Madam Pince was standing there, she immediately called for help from others, while Lily continued healing every cut on James' body, by the time each cut was healed, she saw James' eyes were closed, but he was breathing, not properly but he was breathing.

McGonagall soon arrived with Slughorn and Filch.

When the other five saw Lily, she was sitting outside the Hospital wing, they just heard that someone was hurt, some students had seen Lily with other teachers going to the Hospital wing.

Mary was the first to notice Lily properly, she ran up to her.

"Lily, you are covered in blood, are you hurt?" she asked horrified.

Soon the others noticed her properly, her robes and clothes were soaking in blood, her hands were covered in blood too, and Lily broke into tears again, seeing her friends.

"I am fine it's . . .it's," she tried to say pointing at the blood but failed.

"Is it Prongs?" asked horrified and worried Sirius, Lily nodded. Sirius tried to enter the hospital wing but it was locked, he started kicking it hard. Remus and Peter moved fast and grabbed him.

"This much blood, of James alone?" asked Marls, tears coming from her eyes too.

"More, on floor, him, . . . I thought .. . . . he will die," cried Lily.

"Who did this?" asked Sirius.

"Snape," spitted Lily, the words coming out as venom.

"I will kill that bastard," Sirius shouted and tried to move but Remus and Peter held him tightly.

"Calm down Padfoot, now is not the time, first we will make sure Prongs is okay, and then we will hunt Snape," said Remus, his voice a mixture of calm and anger.

All six of them sat out of the Hospital wing no one saying anything, all faces sad and gloomy.

After an hour Minnie came out and looked at the sad faces.

"James Potter is all right, he is resting, you will meet him soon," announced Minnie and the six of them sighed in relief. "I am very thankful to you Ms Evans, Poppy said if it hadn't been for your counter-curse, Potter would have been in a graver danger."

Lily didn't said anything but just nodded.

"May I ask you how you knew the counter curse?" asked Minnie.

"I saw Snape hurting a bird and then performing the counter curse, it was a bird Poppy may remember, but that time it wasn't this harmful. . . . I should have reported it that day only, then he wouldn't have dared use it again," said Lily tears falling again.

"It's okay Lily, it wasn't your mistake, I am glad you remembered the counter curse. Now, I should go and attend those Slytherins," said Minnie before leaving.

After another 30 minutes, Poppy came out and called them inside, she asked Lily about the curse and counter curses and to give her new clothes and treat her wound.

"He has lost a lot of blood, he will be awake by tomorrow morning, but I will keep him here for a week, he is weak," said Poppy and then started applying lotions on his cuts.

Lily was feeling horrible as she watched James, there was still the scratch from Werewolf's nails, healed but visible, it was now accompanied by several new cuts, which were closed now. His face was white and his eyes sunken.

All six of them watched James, laying motionless in his bed, Sirius was hugging Marls, both of their eyes were red, and Peter, Remus, and Mary were whispering to each other with grim faces.

Lily just sat on her chair looking at James, she was now in clean clothes and her hand and face cleaned, but she could still feel the blood on her body, on her clothes, the blood coming out of James, his clothes soaked in blood.

"Lily what's that thing that is glowing in your wrist?" asked Mary.

Lily looked at her wrist, the lily flower was glowing. "A bracelet, I didn't know that it glowed."

Poppy returned at the same time, ordering them to leave, Sirius and Marls protested but she didn't listen.

Lily approached the nurse, "I am not feeling well after all that happened, I. . .. can I stay here tonight," she asked.

The nurse looked at the girl, there still was the cut, she just had been in a duel, and then had seen that horrible scene and she also healed the boy. The nurse smiled and nodded.

"Why can she stay but not me?" complained Sirius to his friends.

"She too was injured physically and emotionally, Sirius, she said she thought James would die, and by what we heard it looked like it too. Lily needs rest too," replied Marls. Sirius grip on her tightened.

Lily sat beside James all night, she would lay in her bed when Poppy would be there and then return to sit by James' side the moment she was gone.

It was nearly 5 in the morning when James stirred.

"Lils," he groaned, and Lily sat straight clutching his hands.

"I am here James," she said.

"Dumbledore, has he returned?" asked James.

"I don't think so, I haven't seen him," replied Lily.

"I can no longer keep it all inside me, I have to tell someone."

"What is it, James? You can tell me."

James thought for a moment about the dream he just had. "You remember the boy in my nightmares, I told you about?"

"Yes,"

"Promise me you will not tell anyone else about what I am going to tell you."

"I promise."

"His, the boy's name is 'Tom Marvolo Riddle, he studied here, he is somehow related to Voldemort," said James.

Lily thought about it, the plan of heist could be done on new year's eve only, then only no one will suspect of firecrackers, three people, James and Peter to party, dementors attack, Dumbledore there, keep it hidden.

"The Heist was real?" gasped Lily.

James didn't speak.

"So, you, Peter, and Dumbledore were stealing the diary?" asked Lily and James nodded. "Dumbledore is an Animagus then?"

James wanted to tell her the truth but it wasn't his truth alone, "You can't tell anyone, please,"

"I will not. That's why you were worried that day?" asked Lily and James nodded.

"I am glad you didn't leave me yesterday," said James.

"What?"

"When Snape asked you to leave me, I am glad you didn't leave me," said James.

"I will never leave you, James," said Lily and James smiled.
