Arabelle rubbed her temples as she walked down the path to the burrow. Her head was pounding from working all day and the thought of falling into bed was all that was keeping her moving forward. Things were much more difficult with working at hospital. She was always tired and got irritated easily. More than once she had shouted at the twins rather harshly because they had played a joke on her when she was in a bad mood. They now tended to avoid her if they could, which made her feel guilty. Their cheerfulness was one of the reasons she loved them so much but recently she had just found them to be annoying.

Her relationship with Charlie was even worse. She remembered days when they had been able to spend day after day with each other but now it was a constant struggle. If they weren't sitting in awkward silence they were arguing or fighting each other. Arabelle hated being this way but she couldn't control the way she felt, she was just so exhausted all the time. She wanted to be the perfect healer but this almost wasn't worth it.

As the Burrow came into sight she noticed how dark it was. All the lights were out which was strange. Despite it being almost midnight there was always at least one person awake in the house, if it wasn't the twins planning their next escapade it was Percy reading or Molly doing some late night chores. But it was eerily silent. She pushed the door open and it creaked as usual on its rusty hinges. She could hear the wind chimes on the porch tinkling in the summer nights breeze but the house inside seemed dead. Shrugging it off she began the climb up the stairs to her room. Yet as she climbed a strange mist appeared in front of her leading towards her bedroom. She sighed out loud. It must be Fred & George playing around again but she was in no mood for this right now. She pushed open the door dreading what she was about to find. But instead of a chaos that she was expecting she found the opposite. Everything was as it should be in its place. Even where Charlie should be lying asleep as he usually was when she got in late, there was nothing but a perfectly made bed. The room was deathly quiet. Arabelle could begin to feel her heart beat fast against her chest. This definitely wasn't the twins.

The light from the moon was shining in through the window pouring a light glow over the room. Arabelle's eyes scanned around, the only thing that didn't belong there was a dress hanging from the mirror in the corner. She lit her wand and pointed it the direction. The dress was made entirely of gold sequins with a full skirt and beige heels on the floor underneath it. Attached to the dress with ribbon was a note in cursive writing that read:

"put this on and meet me in the garden, love Charlie"

Arabelle smiled lighting some candles with her wand which cast a warm glow over the room. Despite her exhaustion she decided to go with it, this was so unlike Charlie and it would be nice to spend some time with him. She slipped off her uniform and pulled the dress down over her head, she put on the shoes that fit her perfectly and turned to the mirror. She kept her hair in the messy bun on top of her head, touched up her makeup and sprayed the perfume she kept on her dressing table and walked out the door. She tip toed down the stairs to stop the clicking of the heels waking everyone up.

As she pushed open the wooden stable door that lead to the garden a glow of lights appeared entwined in the trees that arched over the path. She followed the path in the gentle glow and waiting for her, suited up with his hands in his pockets smiling at her was Charlie.

"What is all this!" She laughed spinning around and skipped down the path to meet him. He caught her in his muscular arms as she knew he would.

"You look great" he whispered in her ear as he spun her round.

"As do you! Did I miss something, is it your birthday? Oh God is it my birthday? What month is it again!?"

He laughed loudly "No special occasion don't worry. Just thought I would surprise you, and speaking of surprising you" he said as he got down on one knee and pulled a small out of his pocket.

"Arabelle..."

"Oh gosh Charlie" she knew what was happening and could feel her cheeks turning red. The ring had a white pearl on a thin silver band which twisted around the pearl keeping it in place. Subtle but perfect.

"I know things haven't been great between us recently but I'm going to make it better. We're going to travel the world together, any country you name, and then we can find somewhere to live the rest of our lives together, maybe France or Australia wherever you want to live is fine with me as long as we're together. So I'm asking if you would like to spend the rest of your life with me Arabelle?"

"Oh Charlie of course I do!" She laughed and fell to the ground to hug him. All the long hours at work and the stress and the arguments seemed to wash away out of her mind and for the first time in months she was truly happy. She hugged him tightly and breathed him in, it was just like it had been before, they were going to be together forever like she had always wanted.

The lights around them became brighter as every tree became covered with little lights that covered the sky like a canopy of glitter and loud music began to play. She lifted her head to find at least 50 people standing there smiling and cheering for them with drinks in their hands. She suspected a concealment charm had just been lifted, all the family were standing there plus friends from school and even some teachers. Arabelle rested her forehead against Charlie's and giggled.

"I told you I wanted to surprise you" he told her taking her hand and lifting it in triumph towards the elated crowd. "Oh and by the way I've booked tomorrow off work for us" he whispered.

Arabelle squeezed his hand tightly and thanked the skies that Charlie was in her life.
