Once again brought to you by me and SuperSentai199, we bring you a follow up to our retelling of the OG Star Wars trilogy, by doing the sequels! Some big changes will pop up in this story, as we follow Sam and Alastor's son, Anakin Junior, as he joins Rey and Finn on their journey to find his uncle Luke.

4. Chapter 4

We're Wizards, Not Warriors: What If

Volume 5:

Chapter 4: Frogs and Snow

A pair of TIE fighters roar towards a magnificent planet, frozen white. This is the Starkiller Base, a natural planet that has been hacked and modified into something sinister.

Then a sinister voice was heard.

"...The droid will soon be delivered to the Resistance…."

We see Kylo Ren and General Hux are in a large dark space, looking upward at someone addressing them in a massive and dark assembly room.

We finally see Supreme Leader Malakis.

Not entirely human, at nearly twenty-five feet tall. All of him a stony gray. He looks very powerful, bandages covering his arms, legs and torso under his robes, his lower jaw replaced completely with a metal one with sharp jagged teeth.

He stares down at his subordinates with blood red eyes.

"Leading them to the Jedi master. If Luke Skywalker returns…. Then the First order will fall", Malakis said.

Hux tried to say, "Supreme Leader, I take full responsibility for th-"

Malakis yelled, "General! Our strategy must now change. Luke Skywslker must not reunite with his order. If he were to reunite with his brother…. The First Order will share the same fate as the Empire! The weapon…. How is the construction?"

"The weapon. It is ready. I believe the time has come to use it", Hux said, "we shall destroy the government that supports the Resistance; the New Republic. Without them and the Jedi to protect them, the Resistance will be vulnerable, and we will stop them before they can reach Luke Skywalker."

Malakis considers. He almost seems to die for a moment as he regards Hux's plan.

He says, "go. Oversee preparations."

Hux said, "yes, Supreme Leader."

General Hux, proud and cocksure, exits the room. Kylo Ren watches him go as Malakis sits back down.

Malakis asked, "there's been an awakening. Have you felt it?"

Kylo Ren said, "yes."

"There's something more. The droid we seek is aboard the Millennium Falcon. In the hands of your father, Han Solo", Malakis said.

Kylo Ren was silent for a moment before he said, "he means nothing to me…. None of them do. My sister. Mother. Cousins. Aunts and uncles. They are stuck in the past."

Malakis said, "even you, master of the Knights of Ren, have never faced such a test. Facing your family."

Kylo Ren said, "by the grace of your training, I will not be seduced."

Malakis said, "we shall see. We shall see…."

Kylo Ren then leaves the room.

Malakis smiled wickedly as his hologram faded.

….

We then see the Falcon racing through lightspeed.

The cockpit is in chaos as Han and Rey pilot, alarms sounding, problems everywhere.

Chewie yelps as Finn nervously works to bandage his shoulder.

Han yelled, "electrical overload!"

Eda shouted, "I can fix that!"

Han said, "the coolant's leaking!"

Rey suggested, "try transferring auxiliary power to the secondary tank-"

Han said, "- Secondary tank, I got it!"

Breha said, "make sure the transfer goes through!"

….

Chewie howls in pain as Finn tries to put bandages on him.

"Chewie, come on! I need help with this giant hairy thing! Stop moving! Chewie", Finn exclaimed.

BB-8 and Lola try to go over, but a loud roar from Chewie makes them scurry off!

Han yelled, "you hurt Chewie, you're gonna deal with me!"

Eda yelled, "and me!"

As Finn struggles to bandage the Wookie, he says, "hurt him?! He almost killed me six times", Chewie grabs him by the collar and roars, "which is fine."

King said, "I wouldn't make him mad! Wookie's are known to rip arms outta sockets when they get angry!"

Finn yelled, "I'll keep that in mind!"

….

In the cockpit.

"This hyperdrive blows there's gonna be pieces of us in three different systems", Han said.

Ani yelled, "I don't think my dad's would appreciate that, Uncle Han!"

Suddenly, all the alarms stop. Rey smiles as Breha, Ani and Han look confused.

Han asked, "what'd you do?"

Rey smiled and said, "I by-passed the compressor."

Ani had a huge smile on his face.

To see Rey fix something on the Falcon made his heart skip a beat.

Han gives a small appreciative laugh.

The group exit from the cockpit, then head back to where the others are.

Han pushes past BB-8, saying, "move, Ball."

Han goes to Chewie, who lies awake but recovering. Han checks his friend's wound with care. Chewie groans.

Han said, "nah, don't say that, you did great. Just rest."

Finn is sitting at the Holochess.

Breha said, "thanks. We owe you one."

Finn smiled and said, "you're welcome", as he accidentally activated the chess set, and the pieces appeared, looking up at Finn, curiously. The pieces start to fight as Finn fiddles with the controls, trying to turn it off.

Ani stands near Chewie, checking on how his old friend is doing.

Han said, "so, fugitives, huh?"

Eda said, "ah, baby's first wanted poster."

Ani chuckled and said, "you guys already knew that about me."

Rey asked, "so Ani…. You're a Jedi?"

Ani said, "yeah…. I was afraid of telling you guys."

"Why is that? I thought being a Jedi was…. You know, awesome", Finn asked.

Ani said, "it was, until the First Order showed up. You tend to have a price on your head when your dad's Grand Master of the Jedi, and your uncle is the one the map leads to."

Rey asked in shock, "you're related to Luke Skywalker?!"

Ani smiled and said, "my full name is Anakin Junior Skywalker. Named after my grandfather."

Finn said, "and your father is Sam Skywalker!? The one who was able to turn Vader back to the Light side!?"

Ani nodded and said, "yep. That's why I went on this mission. To find my uncle and bring him home."

Rey said, "so that's why the First Order wants you as much as BB-8."

Ani said, "speaking of which, can we get back to our mission?"

Rey turned to Han and the others and said, "the First Order wants the map. Ani and Finn are with the Resistance", she shrugs, "I'm just a scavenger."

Eda and Han give Finn a skeptical once-over as Finn finally manages to turn the chess set off.

"Let's see whatcha got", Han said.

BB-8 turned to look up at Rey.

"Go on", Rey said.

BB-8 rolls forward and suddenly projects a holographic map. Planets, stars and systems surround the group.

They all react in amazement. Chewie sits to look up. Han moves through the stars, his eyes becoming reflective from the blue holographs.

Han said, "this map's not complete. It's just a piece. Ever since Luke disappeared, people have been looking for him."

Rey asked, "why'd he leave?"

Breha said, "he was training a new group of Jedi at his academy."

Han said, "one boy, an apprentice, turned against him, destroyed it all. Out of all of the teachers, I believe only four or five survived, including Luke. Luke felt responsible…. He walked away from everything."

Finn asked, "do you know what happened to him?"

"There're a lot of rumors. Stories. The people who knew him the best think he went looking for the first Jedi temple", Han said.

Rey said, "I always heard the stories. The Jedi are real?"

Han said, "I used to wonder about that myself. Thought it was a bunch of mumbo-jumbo, magical power holding together good, evil, the dark side and the light…. 'Crazy thing is, it's true. The Force, the Jedi, all of it. It's all true."

An alarm rings on the control station, prompting Han to toggle some switches. BB-8 cuts off the hologram. Chewie rises and moans to Han, but Han motions for Chewie to lay back.

Han said, "no, Chewie, you rest."

Eda turns to the others, "you want our help? You're getting it. We're gonna see Ani's sister. She'll get the droid to the Resistance. This is our stop."

Han leaves towards the cockpit with the others following, eager to see their destination. Especially Ani, excited to see his big sister….

The Falcon drops out of hyperspace, revealing a beautiful planet called Takodana.

Han and Breha pilot the Falcon down. As the others sit and stand behind them.

Han and Ani notice Rey looking out the windshield, almost in tears.

Rey whispered, "... I didn't know there was this much green in the whole galaxy…."

Han watches her, seeing a vulnerability that touches him.

Ani gently pats her back.

Rey smiled at Ani.

Ani smiled back.

The Falcon flies over a forest before it lands on a field near a lake.

Rey runs out of the ship first.

BB-8 follows her.

Rey takes in the towering stone castle, forest to one side, lake to the other. It's serene, beautiful, and all so new to her.

Ani steps next to her.

Rey said, "it's so beautiful."

Ani looked at Rey and said, "yes you are."

Rey asked, "what?"

Ani quickly looks at the castle and says, "uh, yes, you are right, it is!"

Both had blushes on their faces once more.

Lola let out what sounded like laughing.

Ani gave a mock glare to his droid.

Lola beeped as she flew off.

….

Back in the Falcon, Han rummages through a storage unit, retrieving old blasters. Eda is nearby, pulling out a red cloak. Finn arrives behind them, concerned.

Finn he asks, "hey, Solo, I'm not sure what we're walking into here-"

Han asked, "did you just call me, 'Solo?'"

Finn saud, "sorry. Han- Mr. Solo. You should know, I'm a big deal in the Resistance. Which puts a real target on my back. Um, are there any conspirators here? First Order sympathizers?"

"Listen big deal, you've got another problem. Women always figure out the truth", Han said.

Han hands him a blaster.

Han said, "always."

Han walks off. Finn watches him go, wracked with guilt.

Finn asked, "they do?"

Breha passes by and says, "a'yup!"

Han walks outside and he walks over to Rey.

"You might need this", Han said.

Rey said, "I think I can handle myself."

Ani said, "I can agree with her on that."

Han said, "I know she can. That's why I'm giving it to her. Take it."

Rey picks up the blaster.

Han asked, "you know how to use one of these?"

"Yeah, you pull the trigger", Rey said.

Han asked, "there's a little bit more to it than that. You got a lot to learn. You got a name?"

Rey said, "Rey."

Han asked, "Rey who?"

Rey said, "um…. Just Rey."

Han said, "welp…. Rey. I've been thinkin' about bringing on some more crew. Someone to help out. Someone who can keep up with Chewie, Eda and me, appreciates the Falcon."

Ani added, "someone hungry for danger?"

Rey asked Han, "are you offering me a job?"

"I wouldn't be nice to you. It doesn't pay much", Han said.

"You're offering me a job." Rey said.

"I'm thinking about it", Han said.

Rey wants to say yes. But something stops her. A line she can't cross.

Ani can see her mind working. And he's afraid of what her answer is.

Han asked, "well?"

Rey said, "if you were, I'd be flattered. But I have to get home."

Han looks at her, questioningly.

Ani gives a pained look.

Han asked, "Jakku?"

"I've already been away too long", Rey said.

Han turns to Chewie nearby and says, "Chewie, check out the ship as best you can", Han turns back to Rey and says, "it's too bad. Chewie kind of likes you."

Han heads off.

Rey turns to Ani.

Rey said, "Ani, I-"

But Rey was interrupted by BB-8.

She and Ani turned to look at the droid.

"He's asking us to follow Uncle Han", Ani said.

Rey gave a small nod.

Ani and Rey follow the group as they head to the castle.

Finn asked, "Solo, why are we here again?"

Han said, "to get your droid on a clean ship."

Rey asked, "clean?"

Eda was about to make a dirty joke, but Breha quickly covered her mouth.

Han, "do you think it was luck that we found the Falcon? If we can find it on our scanners, the First Order's not far behind. Want to get BB-8 to the Resistance? Polly's our best bet."

Rey and Finn asked, "who?"

"Polly is my older sister", Ani said

Breha said, "we can trust her. She's run this watering hole for several years."

Eda said, "Polly is a bit of an acquired taste, so let us do the talking."

Han said, "and whatever you do, don't stare…."

Rey and Finn asked, "at what?"

Han, Ani, Eda, King and Breha said, "any of it."

Han then opens the door to the castle and it is filled with loud music and people.

It's a loud and crowded mess of a hall. A room full of rough and odd aliens and humans, who gamble, drink, scheme, negotiate, argue, until we end up on the back of a tiny, familiar, four foot tall alien, who turns to see the group.

It's Polly, who's wearing a blue beanie, blue shirt, gray jacket and pants, and large goggles.

She smiled when she saw the group.

Polly walked over to the group and said, "about time you showed up."

"Hi Polly", Ani said.

Polly smiled and jumped up to hug her little brother.

Ani smiled as he hugged his sister.

Soon the two siblings broke the hug.

"Also to let you know, I got a call from our dads", Polly said.

Ani groaned, "oh boy…."

"Yep, he and the rest of our fathers were worried sick about you", Polly said as she chuckled.

Ani said, "I imagine so. But what I'm doing right now is very important."

Polly nodded and asked, "where's Chewie?"

"Chewie's working on the falcon", Han explained.

Polly said, "well, it's good to hear he's alright. Now, you said you've got something important to do? Well, let's get to it."

Polly walks off. Ani, Breha, and Han follow her. As do Rey, Lola, Eda, King, BB-8 and Finn.

They pass an alien named Grummgar, who sits with a sexy woman named Bazine Natel, who watches them suspiciously.

A small droid named GA-97, turns its head to see BB-8 following Rey and the others across the room.

GA-97 makes a small transmitting sound, which means, "alert the Resistance. Their missing droid is here, along with Anakin J Skywalker."

In a darker part of the area, Bazine enters a shadowy space, and stealthily makes a call on a communicator. Clearly, Bazine is a spy.

"Inform the First Order…. I've found the droid, and the Jedi…."

….

We then see a massive Star Destroyer flying over the iced planet

A dark space is where we find Kylo Ren, addressing someone whom we do not see.

"Forgive me. I feel it again. The pull to the light. The Supreme Leader senses it. Show me again, the power of the darkness, and I will let nothing stand in our way", Kylo Ren said, "not even our own family. Show me, Grandfather, and I will finish what you started."

As his emotion builds, he stands and heads off, revealing who, or rather what he was talking to: the burnt and deformed mask of the man formerly known as Darth Vader!

….

Back on Takodana….

Polly is serving the group some food as they sat at a table.

She says, "a map to Uncle Luke? Ha! You're right back in the mess, Uncle Han."

"Polly, we need your help to get this droid to safety", Han said.

Polly said, "hmm. No."

Breha asked, "what?"

Polly said, "you've been running away from this fight for too long, Uncle Han. Come home!"

"Leia doesn't want to see me", Han said.

Eda said, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

Finn and Rey said in confusion, "huh?"

King said, "long story."

"Please, we came here for your help", Han said.

Rey asked, "what fight?"

Polly said, "the only fight: against the dark side. Through the ages, this galaxy has seen evil take many forms. The Sith. The Empire. Today, it's the First Order. Their shadow is spreading across the galaxy. We must face them. Fight them. All of us."

"There is no fight against the First Order! Not one we can win. Look around. There's no chance we haven't been recognized already. I bet you the First Order is on their way right….", Finn said in fear.

Polly starts adjusting her goggles as she stares at Finn.

"What's this? What are you doing?" Finn asked.

Polly adjusts the goggles again. Her eyes get impossibly bigger again. She grunts recognition. She hoists herself on the tabletop, knocking over food and plates, crawling towards Finn.

Finn asked, "Ani, what is your sister doing?"

Ani shrugged and suggested, "studying if you have any birthmarks?"

Polly said, "if you've traveled far enough, you see the same eyes in different people. I'm looking at the eyes of a man who wants to run away…."

"You don't know a thing about me. Where I'm from. What I've seen. You don't know the First Order like I do. They'll slaughter us. We all need to run", Finn said in fear.

Ani, Breha and Rey are stunned at his words. Polly, not so much. She crawls back to her chair and points to some pirates in the corner.

She says, "you see those two? They'll trade work for transportation to the Outer Rim. There, you can disappear."

Finn sees them and considers this.

Breha said, "Finn!"

Finn asked, "come with me."

Ani said, "after all we've been through, you're gonna just run?"

Rey asked, "what about BB-8? We're not done yet. We have to get him back to your base."

"I can't", Finn said as he stood up to leave.

He offers the gun back to Han.

"Keep it Kid", Han said.

Finn looks at Ani and says, "I hope you find your uncle."

Ani sighs and says, "... I hope you find your place in all of this."

Finn heads off and Breha and Rey get up to follow him. Polly dials her lenses back to normal, and turns to Ani and asks, "who's the girl?"

Ani looks at Polly and says, "someone I've been curious about since I met her."

As Ani sees Breha and Rey heading over to Finn, he gets up to try and help.

Finn arrives at the table with the alien smugglers.

"I was told you could get me to the Outer Rim", Finn said.

Rey asked, "what are you doing?"

Finn says to the pirates, "don't leave without me."

Embarrassed, Finn moves her away.

Breha said, "you can't just go. I- we won't let you."

Finn said, "I'm not who you think I am."

Rey asked, "Finn, what are you talking about?"

Finn blurted out, "I'm not Resistance. I'm not a hero. I'm a Scout!"

Rey, Ani and Breha's eyes were filled with shock.

"Like all of them, I was taken from a family I'll never know. And raised to do one thing…. But in my first battle, I made a choice. I wasn't going to kill for them. So I ran", Finn said emotionally, "right into you guys. And you looked at me like no one ever had. I was ashamed of what I was. But I'm done with the First Order. I'm never going back. Please, come with me."

Ani didn't want any of his friends to leave. Especially Rey.

Rey said, "don't go."

Breha said, "please…."

Finn said, "take care of yourselves. Please."

Rey looks at him, crushed. With quiet resignation, Rey watches Finn return to the aliens.

Ani feels pain from both himself and Rey at the loss of their friend. But he seemingly feels even more coming from Breha.

Finn then exits the castle.

Ani then hugs both Rey and his cousin.

As they hold one another, Rey and Ani suddenly hear something….

Rey asked, "did you hear that too?"

Ani said, "yeah…. It sounded like a scream…."

Breha was confused and said, "I…. I'm gonna head back to the others."

Rey and Ani head down to the basement stairs.

They keep hearing the screaming.

Lola and BB-8 follow them.

They walked down a dark cavernous hallway.

The two keep hearing the young crying and they walk towards the end of the hallway, where there is a door.

The two open it and enter the room, Rey then spots a box in front of them.

Rey reaches out, very slowly, to touch the box. A moment heavy with tension as Ani does the same.

Inside of the box…. Was an old, slightly rusted lightsaber!

Ani whispered in confusion, "a lightsaber?"

Rey felt a strange connection to this saber.

Rey slowly reached her hand towards it. Ani did the same.

And as soon as they both touched it…. There is the piercing sound of a lightsaber igniting.

They both find themselves in different places, away from one another!

Rey finds herself in a dark hallway of Cloud city and mechanical breathing is heard.

Ani hears a deep, dark cackling and sees himself within the throne room of the Emperor.

"NO!"

Rey looks around, confused by all she sees and hears. She turns and sees through a doorway.

"TRAITOR!"

Ani hears these words as he quickly makes his way up the stairs of the large room.

We follow Rey and she runs down the corridor, but it all tilts and turns, and she then falls to the ground.

The room around Ani moves until he crashes to the ceiling, which turns into a burning stone floor.

Rey turns to see a burning temple at night.

"NO! NO!"

Rey then sees R2-D2 who watches the flames and a man next to him, who falls to his knees, and reaches out to the droid with a mechanical hand.

Ani looks around him to see various cloaked and masked figures, the Knights of Ren, winning against young Jedi, killing them from all around, as one slowly approaches him.

Ani stands up as he looks afraid.

Rain falls all around Rey as she looks up to see a warrior as he is stabbed by a fiery lightsaber! He screams and falls to the ground in front of Rey.

She's in the middle of a battlefield and gets to her feet, frightened by what she sees. She sees Kylo Ren, and the six other Knights of Ren, who flank him!

Kylo Ren then starts to approach Rey.

A flash of lightning illuminates the area!

As Kylo Ren turns to look at Ani, he hears himself yelling, "you traitor!"

Ani turned around to see a younger version of filmself, holding an unconscious Breha close as he glared at Kylo Ren.

We come back to Rey, soaking now, as the Rain stops and sunlight illuminates her, she turns to look and sees….

Herself as a child, sobbing and hysterical.

Unkar Plutt's meaty hand holds her thin arm. She is on Jakku, watching a starship fly into the sky, abandoning her.

Young Rey yells, "come back!"

Unkar growls, "quiet girl!"

The ship flies towards the desert sun, which is strangely eclipsed, as if being eaten by darkness.

"Rey?"

Rey hears a voice call out her name.

"Ani?"

Ani hears another voice calling out to him.

Rey sees it as nighttime in some snowy woods. She's losing her mind, confused, she gets to her feet, her breath seen in the frigid air. And she hears the sound of clashing lightsabers! She moves through the woods, towards the sound. Rey runs, heart pounding, when Kylo Ren emerges from behind a tree!

Ani opens his eyes to see himself in a large empty area, almost like another plain of existence. He turns to see a cloaked man, with horrible yellow eyes, a cracked golden mask, wielding a double bladed red lightsaber.

Ani shakes in fear as he backs away.

Both Ani and Rey come out of their visions, falling into the hallway, right beside one another.

Both are out of breath, alarmed and perplexed.

"These are your first steps."

Ani and Rey looked at one another in shock.

The two turned around to see Polly at the end of the hall. She made her way over to them.

Rey asked, "what was that? I shouldn't have gone in there."

Ani said, "I think we both saw visions. Of the past. The present. And the future."

Polly pointed to the lightsaber and said, "that lightsaber…. It's said to have belonged to Bastilla Shan. And now…. It calls to you?"

Ani's eyes went wide. Bastilla Shan? Wasn't that the name of Revan's wife? And it called out to Rey? That couldn't be a coincidence.

"I have to get back to Jakku", Rey said.

Ani glanced at Rey in worry.

Polly said, "Eda and Han told me."

She removes her goggles from her eyes, reaches out, and holds both of their hands.

She said, "sweety. I see your eyes. You already know the truth. Whomever you're waiting for on Jakku, they're never coming back. But... there's someone who still could. One who Ani and his family yearn to see again, so they can make things right."

"Luke", Rey said.

"The belonging you seek is not behind you. It is ahead. I am no Jedi, but I know the Force. It moves through and surrounds every living thing. Close your eyes. Feel it", Polly said, "the light. It's always been there. It will guide you. The saber. Take it."

Rey suddenly stands and says, "I'm never touching that again. I don't want any part of this."

And Rey runs off, passing Polly and leaving Ani there.

Ani mutters, "Rey…. I can't do this without you. I…."

Polly looks at Ani and says, "go get her, you goof!"

Ani runs after Rey!

Lola and BB-8 follow after them. Polly sighs as she watches both of them go, feeling for the pair.

Rey exits the castle, running into the woods.

She doesn't see Ani, Lola and BB-8 following her yet.

Rey moves through the foliage, heart racing. Over this, we hear an intense rumbling, an omen of something horrible to come….
