When A Little Fish Tells A Great White Lie

Chapter 13: Must Do The Right Thing

The next day at the Whale Wash, it was business as usual. While the many employees did their hard work to clean up the sperm whale customers and have their personal hygiene taken good care of, Lenny and Teresa have already been hired by Sykes to work there and they are disguised as Sebastian and Margaret. Lenny worked together with the tongue scrubbers to remove the green slime off of the customers' tongues and he used a vacuum and Teresa worked together with the sea turtle employees to wax the customers' tongues and she used a sponge, and they were already enjoying the new jobs.

However, they are still very concerned about Oscar's great white lie has eventually causes more harm than good and caused a rift in his friendship with Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina which has escalated right after Lola forced him to kiss her on the news as a publicity stunt to show off to everybody that she's in a relationship with the Sharkslayer, and Lenny still regrets on deciding to be part of Oscar's huge scam which only made things worse. The two siblings hope that he would make things right somehow and tell the truth, and that their father Don Lino would understand that Lenny is his own person.

Meanwhile, at Martha Sturgeon's Flowers, Oscar buys some balloons and a box of chocolates that are for Angie and two friendship cards that are for Nelson and Sabrina while the flounder owner watched him with joy, and he plans to give the gifts to them in order to apologize to them for hurting so much as well as acting so selfish when he allowed his lie go to his head while he plans to tell Angie that he just realized that he loves her and does exactly feel the same way about her. Also, he is very glad that he did the right thing to end his relationship with Lola after realizing that she was only interested in his status as the Sharkslayer, and he leaves and proceeds to give them the gifts so he could make things right with them.

Soon, he arrives at the Whale Wash and begins searching for his three best friends there so he could give them the gifts and apologize to them. While he does so, Lenny kept working with the tongue scrubbers and Teresa kept working with the sea turtles until they both quickly noticed Oscar.

"Hey, Oscar!" Lenny greeted.

"I can't talk right now," said Oscar. "I need to find Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina, and I need to tell Angie that I love her and I need to tell her, Nelson, and Sabrina that having a friendship with them does really matter to me. I really need to tell them that I'm sorry."

"Well, that's such a good idea," said Teresa. "You really owe them an apology. Also, we're coming with you to see how it turns out."

"Alright. Let's go." said Oscar.

Oscar begins heading to the dental section along with Lenny and Teresa so he could look for Nelson first and then head to the receptionist office so he could look for Angie and Sabrina next so he could apologize to them next as well as tell Angie that he began to have romantic feelings for her. While he continues to plan to apologize to his three best friends for acting so irrationally, Pontrelli and the other tongue scrubbers cheered for him while they continued to remove the slime from a customer's tongue.

"Good work, Oscar!" said Pontrelli.

Soon, Oscar arrives at the dental section where begins looking for him along with the two siblings, but he is unable to find him which makes him become very confused. He decides to ask Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the dental squad who are busy cleaning a customer's teeth where Nelson is, but they inform him that they have no idea where he is.

"Hey, Wendell. Hey, Hayley." Oscar greeted. "Do you guys know where Nelson is?"

"No, we don't, and we haven't seen him all day," said Wendell.

"Besides, he didn't even show up to work today, and it's very strange," said Hayley.

"And since he is absent from work, I'm filling in for him right now as leader of the dental squad," said Wendell.

"Sorry about that, Oscar," said Hayley.

"It's alright, you guys." said Oscar. "I'll see ya later."

Oscar then leaves the dental section along with Lenny and Teresa since he was unable to find Nelson there, and he begins heading to the receptionist office to find Angie and Sabrina there. While he does so, Lenny and Teresa still hope that Oscar would be able to somehow make things right with them since his lie has caused a rift in his longtime friendship with them.

At the receptionist office, things are in complete chaos since Ernie and Bernie are filling in for Angie and Sabrina, and they aren't doing so well since they keep fighting over the telephone to answer the customers and keep getting the slogan wrong, much to Sykes' annoyance and frustration.

"Hey, this is the Whale Wash where you…" said Ernie on the phone.

"Gimme the phone!" said Bernie just as he took the phone from Ernie. "This is the Whale Wash, you get a whale of a wash where everything is…"

"No, you're doing it all wrong!" said Ernie just as he took the phone from Bernie. "And the price is...very, very, very low here. Considering how good the wash is at the Whale Wash!"

"That's a really good one, Ernie." said Bernie.

"Ugh! How many times do I have to tell you two?" asked Sykes in annoyance and frustration. "For the last time, it's "gosh"!" The slogan is "Whale Wash, you get a whale of a wash, and the price is, oh, my gosh"!"

"Alright, mon! We get it." replied Bernie.

The telephone rings and Ernie answers it. "Whale Wash…"

Bernie grabs "Rhymes with "gosh"." He and Ernie laughed while Sykes got even more annoyed and frustrated.

Sykes grabbed the phone. "Ugh! Gimme that! That's it! Both of ya, get out of here! Go be useless somewhere else, will ya?!"

Bernie and Ernie then leave the receptionist office while Sykes hangs up the telephone. Soon, Oscar arrives there along with Lenny and Teresa but he quickly notices that they're not there which causes him to become filled with surprise just as he begins wondering where they both are.

"Hey, Sykes." Oscar greeted. "Where's Angie and Sabrina?"

"I could ask you the same thing," said Sykes. "I haven't seen those two all day today, and things at the receptionist office are falling apart without them."

"Really? asked Oscar. Sykes nodded. "You know, I'm very confused. I tried looking for Nelson, but his own co-workers of the dental squad told me that they haven't seen him at all, and I decided to look for Angie, but you just told me that you haven't seen them at all either. They weren't seen by anybody today, and I'm wondering where they could be. It doesn't make any sense for them to not show up at work."

The telephone rang again and Sykes answered it. "Whale Wash, you get a whale of a wash, and the…" Sykes listened to somebody on the phone for a moment and then he gave the phone to Oscar. "Oh, it's for you."

"Huh?" asked Oscar. He gives the balloons and the box of chocolates to Lenny and he gives the two friendship cards to Teresa. He takes the telephone from Sykes and he begins answering somebody on it. "Hello?"

"Is this the Sharkslayer?" asked somebody on the other line.

"Yeah, this is him. Who's this?" asked Oscar.

"This is Luca the Octo... I mean... forget about it." said Luca. "Now follow some of these instructions, okay? Check in the top drawer of the file cabinet, and what you'll find in it is a paper bag from Kelpy Kreme. Get it and see what's inside of it."

Oscar follows the instructions Luca gives him, and he opens the top drawer of the file cabinet. He finds a Kelpy Kreme bag inside of it and puts it on the counter. He looks inside of it, and he finds Angie's necklace, Nelson's RX-series AquaPad, and Sabrina's Destiny's Child poster in it and he puts them on the counter while he stares at them in surprise and shock.

"That's right, tough guy." said Luca on the telephone. "We got your angelfish girlfriend, we got your tuna best friend, and we got your sea goldie best friend. Now, there's gonna be a sit-down in one hour."

"Who is that on the phone?" asked Lenny. Oscar shushed him.

"Be there, if you don't wanna see those three sleeping with the fishes." Luca continued on the phone. Oscar makes a very confused expression. "And what do I mean by that, they'll be sleeping with the dead ones. Starting with your girlfriend." Oscar quickly makes a very shocked expression "Now, nod your head if you understand if you wanna see them remain alive and well." Oscar nods his head. "Now, tell me if you nodded your head."

"I nodded," said Oscar.

Luca then hangs up and the telephone goes dead. Oscar hung up the telephone, and he kept staring at his three best friends' gifts and he began to feel very distraught and guilty upon learning that they have been kidnapped by Don Lino and his great white shark mafia in order to force a sit-down which he was completely unaware of. Also, Lenny and Teresa begin to notice his expression which causes them to be surprised as well as Sykes.

"Oscar, what's wrong?" asked Lenny.

"Guys, I've…I've just learned that something terrible happened." said Oscar. "Don Lino and his great white shark mafia now have Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina, and they're expecting to have a sit-down."

"Wait a minute," said Teresa. "You're saying that Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina have been kidnapped by the mafia so they could have a meeting? We can't believe it."

"I can't believe it either." said Oscar. He then groaned just as he hung his head in despair and sat down on one of the wheelchairs. "I never meant for anybody to get hurt like that, especially not my own best friends! They're in danger because of me…and I'm the one who got them into this situation. This is all my fault."

"Well, that's a classic move," said Sykes. "I usually see innocent people getting kidnapped by bad guys a thousand times, even in movies and TV shows."

"They take the one you love the most and the ones who are your best friends, and then they use them against you." said Lenny.

"Oh, what have I done?" asked Oscar. "I'm responsible that Don Lino and his mafia have you guys. I'm so sorry."

Oscar began blaming himself for his three best friends getting kidnapped by Don Lino and his mafia even though he wasn't really responsible for it just as he kept staring at their gifts in complete guilt and distraught, and he began shedding tears. Also, the two siblings began noticing him feeling responsible for his three best friends getting kidnapped, and they began feeling very bad for him and quickly realized that he couldn't have been responsible for it since he cares about his three best friends so much while Sykes strongly agrees with them.

"Hey, Oscar, c'mon, don't say that. It's not really your fault." said Lenny.

"But how? I was the one who got them into this mess." said Oscar.

"Yeah, you did get them into all of this, but you're not to blame for it." said Teresa. "And if it was really your fault, then they would've known about them and get the idea to kidnap them."

"Honestly, I agree with those two, kid." said Sykes. "Lino and his mafia don't even know them anyway. You weren't really responsible for it anyway."

Upon hearing what the two siblings just informed him while Sykes agreed with them, Oscar realized that it wasn't actually his fault that they've been kidnapped by Don Lino and his mafia in order to force a sit-down while he still very guilty for getting them into the situation all because of his Sharkslayer scam which caused his friendship with them to become strained just as he continued shedding tears, and he begin to wonder if he wasn't responsible for it, then somebody must've told Don Lino all about them and gave him the idea to kidnap them.

"You know what, you're absolutely right." said Oscar. "I'm not the one to blame for all of this. Well, even though it wasn't my fault, I'm still the one who got them into this whole situation. Also, I'm starting to become curious about something. Since Don Lino doesn't even know them, somebody must've told them about them. But who?"

"Well, since Don Lino and his mafia now have Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina so they could have a sit-down, I'm wondering who told them about them." said Oscar. "Don Lino and his mafia doesn't even know about Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina, and somebody must've told them all about them. But who?"

Oscar attempts to figure out who was responsible for telling Don Lino all about Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina, but he's unable to do so since he honestly has no idea who would decide to do such a thing like that, much to their surprise and confusion. Suddenly, he quickly figures it out, and he realizes that it was Lola who was responsible for the whole thing because he had broken up with her which was the right thing to do and that the reason why she did it is because she couldn't accept the end of their relationship. He learns that the sit-down is actually a petty vindictive plot arranged by her for the break up.

"Guys, I know exactly who did it, and it was Lola," said Oscar. "She was the one who told Lino and his mafia about my friends and had them kidnap them, and it's 'cause I broke up with her. I had to do it 'cause I found that she wasn't actually the person I thought she was and she was only in a relationship with me so she could become rich and famous herself. Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina were right about her, and I should've listened to them."

"Oscar, we're really glad that you've ended your relationship with her," said Teresa. "And you really owe Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina an apology for not listening to them when they attempted to warn her about her. Breaking up with her was the right thing to do, and you've eventually seen her for who he really is. I guess you've learned your lesson big time."

"Yes, I sure did." said Oscar. "When I realized that she was a terrible person, I've realized that I'm really in love with somebody else, and that's Angie. Also, having a friendship with her, Nelson, and Sabrina is one of the best things in my whole life 'cause I've always valued my friendship with them so much and I've always cared about them so much. They've always meant a lot to me since the very first day we met and became best friends at Pisces Elementary School."

Oscar continues to feel very guilty and distraught that his lie has gotten his three best best friends kidnapped by Don Lino and his mafia and realized Lola was responsible for them getting kidnapped in revenge for ending their relationship which is something very childish right after he eventually realized that she was nothing but a selfish, vain, and inconsiderate gold digger. Also, Lenny, Teresa, and Sykes continue to feel very bad for him.

Suddenly, he noticed his name on a piece of paper that was under some paperwork on the counter which made him become filled with surprise. He checks it from under the paperwork, and he quickly discovers it's Angie's secret paper that shows how much she really loves him. He stared at it in surprise for a moment, and then

Once he discovers Angie's secret paper that showed how much Angie really loves him, Oscar became filled with surprise just as he stared at it for a moment, and then he quickly realized that Angie's love for him is sincere and how she has always loved him for who he is. He then notices the photo frame of him and his three best friends at Fish King together when they used to be young children, and he picks it up and stares at it for a moment. Suddenly, he began thinking about his friendship with them and began to feel guilty about becoming a fraud even more than ever.

He then stops staring at the photo and puts it back down on the counter, and he continues thinking about his friendship with them as well as how much Angie has loved him for who he is. Right after he realized the consequences of his lie and how much it has affected him as well as the ones he cares about, he has eventually learned from his own mistakes and saw the error of his ways, and he decides to do the right thing and tell everybody the truth as well as make things right with his three best friends and apologize to them for acting so irrationally.

"So, Oscar, what are we gonna do?" asked Lenny.

"We're gonna go to that sit-down, and we're gonna save Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina from Lino and his mafia." said Oscar. "And from my ex Lola who now wants payback for the end of our relatioonship. Even though this isn't my fault, I'm the one who got them into this and I'm gonna get them out of it. C'mon, guys, let's go."

Lenny backed away just as he let go of the balloons which caused them to float away and put the box of chocolates on the counter. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Look, I wanna save Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina too, but my sister and I just can't swim to the meeting and say "Hi, Pop, we're dolphins"!"

"Lenny?" asked Sykes.

""And our best friend, the Sharkslayer, is a complete fake"." Lenny continued.

"Wait a minute. A complete fake?" asked Sykes.

"C'mon! We're gonna need a better plan than that without even getting noticed!" Lenny finished.

"Well, what kind of better plan would we need, Lenny?" asked Teresa just as she put the two friendship cards on the counter. "And you're absolutely right, we can't let Daddy notice that we've disguised ourselves as dolphins at the sit-down."

"Teresa?" asked Sykes.

"I don't know how Daddy will react to it, but we gotta save them no matter what." said Teresa. "Also, I can't stand somebody getting hurt like that, and it is very true that Oscar is a complete fraud."

Sykes laughed nervously. "Oscar, this is a joke, right? This has to be a joke. 'Cause, you know, I told Lino to…" He suddenly became filled with complete shock.

Flashback

"Shut up, Lino! SHUT UP!" said Sykes on the phone while Don Lino growled angrily.

End Flashback

Sykes inflates himself in complete panic. "Tell me you didn't make it all up, kid! Tell me that's not Lenny! Tell me that's not Teresa! Tell me you're a real Sharkslayer! Please!"

"I'm sorry, Sykes. I'm not." said Oscar dejectedly. " His dejected expression quickly fades and smiles just as he gets an idea. "But the sharks don't know that. Wait a minute, it gives me an idea. I'll keep pretending to be the Sharkslayer at the sit-down long enough to save Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina, and hopefully the sharks wouldn't have the chance that I'm a sham and hopefully it would work somehow."

"That's a good idea, and we'll be going along with it." said Lenny. "Oh, and can we talk to you for a moment? We've been thinking about what Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina said to you when you had that argument with them last night, and they were right about you being a joke and about that relationship you had with Lola."

"The whole reason why you are a joke is 'cause you took credit for killing our brother Frankie which you never did in the first place." said Teresa. "Also, what they said about Lola is absolutely correct, and she never actually loved you at all."

"Oh, and I did begin to have doubts about Lola too," said Lenny. "At first, I thought it was a good thing that she kissed you on the news, but I've realized that it was an outrage since she was just showing off and now I'm very disappointed in you that you shared that kiss with her on the news as much as Angie, Nelson, Sabrina, and Teresa are. Oh, and I really regretted deciding to be part of your scam 'cause nothing good came from it."

"Well, you have a right to be disappointed in me just like my best friends and your sister do." said Oscar. "I began to feel disappointed in myself for that, and I realized it was a huge mistake and it was a mistake for you to go along with the plan, Lenny. Most of all, I didn't really mean to hurt Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina so much when they found out that I've lied to everybody, and since I'm now a fake, I don't even wanna go on like this anymore."

"Well, then you should tell everybody the truth," said Teresa. "Oh, and by the way, what gave you the idea to take credit for killing Frankie and lie about that you were a Sharkslayer?"

"'Cause…Cause…'Cause all I wanted was to be a somebody by becoming rich and famous." said Oscar. "I've been made fun of by my classmates for admiring my dad Earl's job at the Whale Wash when I used to be a little kid and I thought that having a job here is so amazing. Right after that, I've always thought that I was a nobody who doesn't get that much respect, and nobody loved me at all. But I've realized that having money and fame to become a somebody isn't really worth it at all and it was really about being yourself. I've...I've really learned that the hard way, especially when Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina said those things about me which is very true."

"Well, you shouldn't let it get to you 'cause you are your own person." said Lenny. "Everybody has their own thoughts and opinions, and you shouldn't be ashamed about them 'cause that's the way who you are and everybody is just the way they are."

Upon hearing what Lenny informed him, Oscar suddenly becomes filled with surprise, and he remembers that his parents have told him the same thing. He then remembers the time when he was sitting on the couch when he used to be young in complete depression right after what he has been through in his classroom, and his parents enter their apartment. They both notice his expression and they began comforting him, and he explains what just happened and they tell him that he shouldn't allow himself to be bullied by his classmates for looking up to Earl's job because he is just the way he is and he shouldn't be ashamed of it at all which made him feel better already just as he smiled at his parents.

Then, Oscar stopped remembering the time when his parents has cheered him up, and he quickly realized that he has forgotten all about the advice his parents gave him right after the traumatic experience he dealt with his classmates at Pisces Elementary School during his childhood because he was being way too focused on making his lifelong dream of becoming a somebody come true by becoming rich and famous as well as letting his own insecurities get the best of him and didn't appreciate what he already had.

"Hey, Lenny, Teresa, I just remembered something." said Oscar. "My dad and my mom Regina told me what you just told me, Lenny, and it's absolutely correct, I'm just myself and I shouldn't be ashamed of what I like so much 'cause everybody is different and has their own interests."

"If you did remember those things, then why didn't you remember from before?" asked Lenny.

"Well, that's because I was being so caught up in becoming a somebody so much." said Oscar. "I didn't remember what my parents said too much and it was such good advice about being just myself, and Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina gave me that kind of advice too, but I didn't remember what they told me either."

"Oscar, you were somebody, and that's by being just yourself and having best friends," said Teresa. "Also, you were a somebody to us when we first met you and became your new best friends, and you should just be yourself rather than being something that you're not, which is the Sharkslayer who is a con and you should listen to your heart instead of your head."

"Also, you should appreciate what you already have instead of taking them for granted." said Lenny. "You were already special in your own way, and you really didn't have to become rich and famous to become somebody by lying about killing our brother Frankie. You've really made some mistakes, and the mistakes you made are just like the mistakes our dad did which is always wanting me to be a killer and always expecting Teresa to encourage me to be a killer."

"You're absolutely right." said Oscar. "Lino has been making some mistakes, and it's just like the mistakes I made. I didn't accept myself for who I am, and he didn't accept you for who you are, Lenny. He shouldn't make the same mistake that I've did, and I've already learned from my own mistakes already. So, I'm just gonna be myself and I'm gonna tell everybody the truth after what we need to do. Carrying out a scam is wrong, and I'm not gonna continue carrying it anymore."

"Well, it's great that you've learned the hard way even though the truth can hurt." said Lenny. "So, now let's go to the sit-down and save Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina. After that, just tell everybody the truth and you still need to apologize to them for becoming a con and hurting them so much. And it's the right thing to do."

"That's right. Now let's do it, guys."

Then, Oscar picks up his three best friends' gifts and puts them away, and he, the two siblings, and Sykes who quickly deflates himself leave the Whale Wash and begin heading to the RMS Titanic so they could attend the sit-down and save Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina from Don Lino and his mafia as well as stopping Lola's plan for revenge. While they do so, Oscar is now planning to do the right thing and tell everybody the truth right after he realized that he can no longer live a lie since it's very wrong and that he was already a somebody by being his own person and having Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina as his best friends for a very long time. The two siblings hope that Oscar will be able to apologize to them, and somehow make things right with Don Lino since their relationship with him has been strained.
