Arabelle had spent most of the days cooped up with Fred and George in their room. They seemed to have a million questions that required her medical expertise. From how to stop uncontrollable vomiting to how to create a fever of over 100 degrees in thirty seconds. They racked her brains for the best part of three days, and she was sworn to secrecy, instructed under no condition to tell Molly what they were doing. Despite Molly harassing Arabelle every moment she could find to find out the reason for the twins secrecy ('if I find out its to do with those sweets they've made you will all be in big big trouble').Even with Arabelle's 21 years of age, Molly's threats still made her nervous, however she knew from experience a broken promise to Fred and George would result in worse punishment than keeping the truth from Molly.
Arabelle was relived to have a reason to avoid Charlie for a few days, and meals weren't too awkward with Harry and Hermione both staying until school started again there was always some conversation going, and as long as it didn't involve response from her she was happy to just listen. Secretly she counted down the days to return to beauxbatons.
The air was still warm as she walked up the cobblestone path towards the white stone castle. Her deep blue velvet heels clicked as she walked. Term started tomorrow and later today the girls would start arriving.
She walked through the ornate double doors into the entrance. The marble floor gleamed under the light of the Chandelier.
'Arabelle! Oh thank goodnesses you 'av arrived early' a petite women with silver curly hair ran towards her, her heels echoing around the walls of the entrance hall. 'Madame Maxine wishes to see you in her office immediately!'.
'Okay okay Gigi, be calm I'm going'. Arabelle cooed woman. Gigi was Madame Maxine's assistant, ditzy and a fan of the dramatics. She had a knack of making dramas out of small problems.
Madame Maxine's was standing in front of the window looking out onto the immaculate lawns of the grounds.
'Madame Maxine you wished to see me?' Arabelle asked slipping into the room, clicking the doors closed behind her.
'Ah Arabelle, I hope you had a good time visiting the family, they are well I 'ope?' She turned to smile down at her.
'Yes, very well thank you'
'Good, well Arabelle I'm sorry to disturb you before you 'ave had a chance to unpack but there is a problem. You are aware of the tri-wizard tournament happening at 'ogwarts this year, yes?'
Arabelle nodded.
'Well Isabel Garcia was due to accompany me and the girls to Scotland but unfortunately she is unable to return this year. Naturally you are my second choice' she smiled again 'you 'ave been magnificent these past two years Arabelle, the girls adore you had having you with us would be an excellent advantage. You know the way their students are taught, you were once one of them, you know 'ow they think. You must know 'ogwarts like the back of your 'and no?
Of course you would have to teach the delegations their classes over the year but I think you are capable of this challenge. What do you think?'
Arabelle faltered, returning to Hogwarts would of course be great, but she would be returning as a Bauxbatons teacher. She would of course be competing against them. But would the advantage she gave the girls be an unfair advantage? It was true she knew what the Hogwarts students knew, she knew what professor Flitwick would teach them what professor McGonagall would have taught them. She was, as Madame Maxine said, one of them. Or at least she had been once.
' Arabelle I know it is much to ask from you, I will give you time to think, but let me know soon, merci'.
With that Arabelle was dismissed, her thoughts running one hundred miles per hour.
