After two days of planning the op-out, they were finally ready to leave. John was pissed and stressed, pissed because he was worried about what the op would mean for his relationship with Kate and his relationship with Sarah. He was also worried about what would happen to Lena. Ghost and Soap had found intel on Lena and Makarov making inquiries about nuclear and chemical weapons. It looked like he was planning a terrorist attack or at least supplying terrorists.
Who's point on this?" Norris asked, looking around the room.
"Ghost you're point, Kyle, you're second." John said.
Ghost and Kyle nodded. Everyone left the room to get ready except Kyle, Kyle still sat in his seat with a worried look on his face.
"What's up, son? You usually look eager for a mission, what has got you worried?"
"I was thinking, your wife and daughter have been captives for a long time. They are going to be wary of anyone they meet, especially if there is a firefight going on and we turn up heavily armed…" He took a breath to continue but was interrupted.
"They probably will, what are you trying to say?"
"When…When I find Lena and Sarah what could I show or give them to know you are involved?" Kyle asked.
"Kate hand me that box with the picture on it."
Kate got up and got the box, handing it to John. He opened it, taking out a necklace with dog tags and rings handing them to Kyle.
"Our wedding rings and dog tags which we combined after finishing the SAS training."
Kyle took them, putting them in a pouch on his shirt.
"I won't lose them, sir."
"I know, now go get ready." John said.
Kyle nodded, going to get ready and find the others. After he left, John looked at Kate.
"Say something, anything please?"
Kate hugged him, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Don't leave us."
"Never, we were heading for divorce anyway. The only person I want back in my life is Sarah."
"How old is she?"
John thought about this.
"14? Fixing to be 15."
"And when did you last see her?"
"That picture over there, she was almost 3 months old."
It suddenly hit him how much of her life he'd missed. Her life had been anything but normal but the milestones like walking and talking for the first time would have happened and he hadn't been there. He was a complete stranger to her. Kate saw the realization hit and the look on his face nearly broke her. She pulled him into a bear hug and he clung to her for comfort trying not to cry. Norris chose this moment to interrupt them.
"Are you two good?"
John let go of Kate, cleared his throat, and nodded.
"Yes sir."
Nik contacted them when they landed, so everyone was on comms. They breached the door, cleaning out the prison of all threats, Kyle, Alex, and Farah was on one level while Soap and Ghost were on another. Kyle was ahead of Farah when he saw Makarov with what looked like Price's daughter.
"Eyes on Makarov and Sarah, no sight of Lena." He whispered as he and Farah went down the maze.
Alex stayed back to keep the way out clear. Kyle heard something hit Farah, he turned around and saw her down, and felt something hit him before everything went dark. John and Kate looked at each other when Kyle came over saying he had eyes on Makarov and Sarah but now it was silence on his end.
"Bravo 6-2 come in. Bravo 6-2 come in. Kyle? Farah?" Soap said.
Still nothing but silence.
"Does anyone have eyes on them?" John asked.
"Negative sir, this place is a bloody maze." Ghost said.
"Negative sir, they are gone."
John looked over to Kate worried. Kate took his hand squeezing it.
"You trained him well."
John nodded, squeezing her hand back.
Kyle woke up, looking around seeing and feeling Farah on top of him. He gently checked her pulse, it was steady. He realized as he checked her pulse that they were both naked. The last thing he remembered was getting hit, how did he end up naked he wondered. He had a pounding headache and felt weird like he'd been drugged. He gently pushed her off, so he could get up, he looked around seeing their clothing in the corner. He went over putting his own on then his mind balked at what to do with Farah's. He took his t-shirt off and used it to cover her up and then tried to wake her up.
"Farah, hey wake up. Farah wake up."
She slowly woke up and then froze, giving Kyle a look full of surprise. She then carefully looked under the t-shirt and swore quietly. He turned around so Farah could get dressed.
"They drugged us." He whispered suddenly.
"They must have, I have no memory of…." She pointed at herself.
"I just don't know what."
"Most likely GHB, that would account for the memory loss. Do you remember anything after we saw Makarov?" She asked moving to face him.
"Not a thing, I just woke up naked. Why do you think they removed our clothes?" He asked.
"I don't know but I hurt." She pointed down below.
Kyle got a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. When he realized he was sore down below as well.
"Did I…?"
Farah didn't say anything, but a single tear rolled down her face.
"I'm sorry."
"Not the first time it's happened." Farah whispered.
Kyle wasn't surprised to hear that, she'd told him and Alex about her time in Barkov's prison. About that time the door opened and a guard carrying an unconscious young girl. He carried her in and threw her on the mattress in the room. The guard looked Farah over as he walked out.
"Sarah?" Kyle was shocked.
"It looks like her." Farah whispered.
Kyle and Farah went back over to their side before Sarah woke up so they wouldn't scare her. Kyle must have fallen asleep because the next thing he knew he woke up again, this time on his own. Farah was sitting next to Sarah with Sarah crying into her shoulder. He slowly got up walking over and Sarah jumped when he got too close.
"He's okay, we are both friends of your dads, remember?" Farah whispered.
Kyle remembered the dog tags and searched his pockets until he found them. He showed them to Sarah and she calmed down a little. She was still looking Kyle over like he was likely to attack any second. He sat on the other side of Farah and that seemed to calm her, even more so when Farah laid her head on his shoulder he wrapped his arm around her.
"Daddy sent you? To rescue mommy and me?"
"Yes." Kyle smiled
Sarah fell back asleep feeling safe and exhausted.
"Where's Lena?" Kyle whispered.
"The intel was a lot older than what we thought. Lena died in childbirth about 2 weeks after they got here, Makarov killed the baby."
"Why didn't he kill her?" Kyle asked.
"He made her his pet." Farah said, with a disgusted tone of voice.
"So how long actually has she been here."
"Around 14 years give or take. They move around she said, so there's no way of really knowing."
Kyle was appalled, Markarov needed to die slowly inch by painful inch. Then they heard gunfire and it was getting closer. Kyle and Farah grabbed what gear they had and waited Sarah just looked terrified. John was beyond pissed waiting for everyone to come into the briefing room, Kate entered and could feel the tension in the room. She walked up behind him,
"I could feel the tension rolling off you the moment I came in."
"Sorry, I'm just worried."
"I am too." Kate hugged him from behind and kissed his neck.
Norris knocked on the door, and John and Kate looked up.
"Go gear up wheels up in 10 Captain."
"What happened?" John asked as he and Kate stood.
"Nik is four klicks out he said Ghost told him to come to get you no questions asked."
John looked at Kate.
"Go, it's okay."
John kissed her while putting a hand on her stomach. He broke the kiss, getting up and running to his room to get ready. He ran outside just as Nik was setting down the helio.
"John!"
He looked back to see Kate, he met her.
"Change your mind?" John asked.
"No just… be careful bring them home."
"I always do." John kissed her, turning and running to the helio.
He got on, putting a headset on.
"What's going on?"
"Soap, Ghost, and Alex found where they are holding them. But.. Price, they found your daughter in the same cell as the Sergeant and Farah and they need help getting them out."
"Well that's what we're here for, get us there as fast as you can Nik."
