This story is about a unicorn named Mario Star, who's a jack-of-all-trades and a martial artist and a former human/current unicorn named Elijah/Comet Stardust. Now, Mario will know all about friendship and possibly win Twilight's heart while Comet will have a new family and know the meaning of life.

19. Winter Wrap Up

This is the 19th chapter. I don't own the series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Winter Wrap-Up

Few months have passed ever since Rose Lotus and Djali lived in Ponyville, every pony has gotten to know the gypsy filly and telling her how sorry they were after learning from the Princesses. Rose Lotus was able to learn how to bake, but she did have a few hiccups along the way which she got some help from Pinkie Pie and the Cakes. Mrs. Cake has been a mother-figure to the gypsy filly because of how much she cared for her while giving her love and treated her like a daughter. Mr. Cake has been a father-figure to the gypsy filly because he starting to love her like he has treated her like he had a daughter as well. Pinkie Pie has grown fond of Rose Lotus and Djali while given them the love and comfort. Of course, Rose Lotus couldn't accept her as her mother yet after Pinkie Pie filled the adoption papers, but she's still tried to get adjusted in Equestria and accepting her new life as well.

Of course, Rose Lotus have become friends with Comet and Apple Shine because they have similar tragic backstory, and she also became a friend to Apple Bloom which she was very sad when the gypsy filly told her about herself.

Cheerilee was able to get the three foals registered since school started, after hearing about Rose Lotus. She welcomed the three as her new students, but she doesn't allow Djali to be in school because Pinkie Pie has to keep an eye on the goat which Rose Lotus told her that the goat is well-behaved, but he can be sassy, protective, and feisty. Fluttershy helped Pinkie Pie kept an eye on Djali while taking care of the animals and getting to know the goat.

Now a year later, outside of the Golden Oak Library, the crickets along in the early morning. Twilight, Comet, and Spike laid fast asleep in their sleeping quarters. As Spike snored heavily in the basket, Twilight awoke with a gasp.

"Spike, wake up!" Twilight said excitedly. "Wake up, wake up, it's Winter Warp-Up Day!"

"Huh? Mommy?" Spike mumbled, opened his eyes.

"Winter Wrap Up!" Twilight repeated in Spike's face.

"You're not mommy." Spike replied, falling back asleep.

"Spike, the first day of spring is tomorrow." Twilight informed him. "So, every pony in Ponyville needs to clean up winter. Now help me get ready."

Shortly after checking her calendar, noting the hoof drawn tree on the date, Twilight jumps into a pair of yellow short boots and tried to put on a fleece saddle, which she struggles to keep in place along her back.

"Clean up winter?" Spike asked sleepily. "Who cleans up winter? Don't they just use magic to change the seasons like they do in Canterlot?"

"No Spike, Ponyville was started by Earth ponies." Twilight explains. "So, for hundred years they've never used magic to clean up winter. It's traditional."

And no sooner did she say it, her saddle fell off and she sighed heavily.

"It's ridiculous!" Spike remarked. "No magic...fuh!"

Ignoring Spike's comments, Twilight retied her saddle back in place, grabbed her pink and white striped scarf, which she secured tightly around her neck, and went over a checklist.

"Okay, let's see...scarf, check; boots, check; Spike refusing to get up and going back to sleep, check."

Twilight Sparkle leaves a checkmark off every item record on her list.

"It's a good thing I'm so organized, I'm ready. Bright and early!"

Twilight opens the door...only to find it was still dark out and no pony else was up. If one were to guess, it was probably around three or four in the morning.

"Oh...maybe a little too early." Twilight chuckled sheepishly. "Good thing I didn't wake Comet up."

After her mishap, Twilight removed her gear and returned to bed. She found it difficult to fall back asleep since she was too excited about Winter Wrap Up and decided to do some reading. So into her book, it felt like minutes passed at a rapid pace.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Knocks at the door draw Twilight's attention. Putting her book down, she opened the door to find Mario Star waiting outside.

"Morning, Twilight." Mario greeted. "Excited for your first Winter Wrap Up?"

"I sure am!" Twilight said, looking outside. "But it's still dark out."

"Not for long." Mario said, leaned his head out.

He was showing Twilight a golden light beginning to remove the darkness in the early winter sky from the horizon.

"Oh, it's time!" Twilight observed. "Let me get Comet and Spike, and we can get going."

Mario nods, watching Twilight race upstairs.

"Sure you don't want me carrying mister sleepyhead?" Mario called out.

"I've got him!" Twilight called back.

Twilight first went in Comet's room, opens the door and saw her son sleeping with his mane a bit messy. Twilight smiled at that sight, thinking he's cute when he was sleeping, but it's time for him to wake up as she approaches. Twilight then kissed his forehead and nuzzled him, waking him up. Comet shrugged while he was waking up, opened his eyes.

"Good morning, Mom." Comet greeted with a smile.

"Good morning, Comet." Twilight greeted back. "It's time to get up. Its Winter Wrap Up day."

Comet nodded as he gets out of bed, fixing his bed. Twilight and Comet then went downstairs, with Spike nestled on her back, after fixing the little colts mane.

"Morning, Comet." Mario greets.

"Morning, Mario." Comet greeted back.

"Well, let's get going." Twilight urged.

"Before we do, could we stop at the train station?" Mario asked.

"Why?" Twilight asked curiously.

Mario smiled brightly as he used his magic to lift a rolled-up scroll from his saddlebag. Unrolling the paper, he passed it over to Twilight, who reads it slowly.

Hey Mario,

We missed you since you moved to Ponyville. Honestly, things weren't the same since you left, not to mention we tried to keep Jay in line. Life at Master Wu's dojo is so boring without you around and helping us out keeping the 'Mouth of Lightning' and 'Rock for Brains' out of trouble. Don't get us wrong, we usually trained with Master Wu, but it gets old for a while. We've got a surprise for you, we're coming to Ponyville to visit you and to see for ourselves how they deal with the 'Winter Wrap Up' we heard about. We should be arriving in Ponyville on the early morning train.

Nya and Kai

Twilight Sparkle glanced from the scroll with a smile on her face.

"Oh...my...GOSH!?" Twilight squealed.

"I know right?!" Mario said excitedly. "Nya and Kai are coming to Ponyville today!"

"You think I can come to the station with you?" Twilight asks excitedly. "I really want to meet your friends."

"Absolutely!" Mario nods.

A short while later, the three unicorns trotted along through town while Spike snoozed lazily on Twilight's back. Arriving at the train station, three ponies stood awaiting the arrival of Nya and Kai. Eventually, the white smoke of the Ponyville Express drew closer as the train came into the view. Coming to a screeching halt, the train doors opened up and the two unicorns stepped off.

The first one was a mare who had an aqua bright blue fur coat with black mane and tail, tied into a ponytail, and brown eyes. Her cutie mark was a Japanese Kanji symbol of water with a water dragon. She wore a silver wrapping and carries a spear.

The second was a stallion was slightly short than Mario and had a fiery red fur coat with a dark brown spiky mane and tail, and sky-blue eyes. His cutie was a Japanese Kanji symbol of fire with a fire dragon. He wore a black wrapping, a black headband, and carries a katana.

"NYA! KAI!" Mario yelled.

Nya and Kai turned and saw Mario as they run at his direction. They soon met in the middle with smiles on their faces.

"I've really missed you guys!" Mario said, hoof-bumped Kai.

"We've missed you too, Mario." Nya said, hugging Mario. "Things were never the same with you gone."

"Yeah, sorry about that." Mario apologizes. "I've been busy helping the Apple family and training my godson. How have things been with Master Wu?"

"He's still eccentric and cryptic as usual." Nya answered. "We've been keeping up with our training."

Then Nya looked past Mario, catching Twilight standing there and waving. She walked past her friend and her brother, approaching the unicorn mare, and shook her hoof.

"And you must be Twilight Sparkle." Nya greets. "The mare our friend told us about."

"Yep, that's me." Twilight nodded, pulled Comet closer to her hoof, before lifting him up and holding him against her chest. "And this right here, is Comet Stardust."

"Wait, as in the Comet Stardust? The one in the newspaper we've read about?" Kai asks, looked past Mario.

"Yeah, that's him." Mario nods. "He's my godson and my student."

Nya then began to look at Comet, who looked at her nervously.

"It's nice to meet you, Comet. My name is Nya, and this is my brother, Kai." Nya greets the little colt with a smile.

"Sup, little guy." Kai greets, turns to Twilight. "He looks a lot like you, Twilight. I thought they're joking after we read the newspaper."

"Well, they're not. And it was unheard for having the same color as anypony, but we're used to it." Twilight states.

"Well, I think he's just adorable." Nya said as she began to tickle Comet's belly, making him giggle.

Then Twilight put her son down, and looked back at Nya, Kai, and Mario.

"Well, as much as we love to stick around and tell you guys about Comet. But we should probably get going; we're supposed to meet Mayor Mare in town square." Mario suggests.

"Yeah, he's right. Let's get going." Kai agreed.

Mario proceeded to lead them towards the town hall. Despite running all the way there, the sun was already drawing high in the sky. Dozens of other ponies were already gathering around the surrounding the cylinder-shaped building. Twilight soon noticed most of the ponies were wearing colorful uniforms.

"Those must be the team vests Rarity designed." Twilight points out. "Blue for the weather team, green for the plant team, and tan for the animal team. I wonder which team vest we'll be wearing."

"Well, Rainbow Dash is on the blue team because Pegasi are in charge of the weather in the sky, Fluttershy's specialty are for the animals which she's on tan, and both Applejack and Apple Shine are going for the plants which they're on green." Comet explains. "That pretty much covers them."

"Very good, Comet." Twilight praised her son.

"Someone has done his homework, smart guy." Kai adds, impressed.

"But truth be told I never thought about vests." Mario said. "I just want to help anyway I can, but if we're lucky we'll get to be on the same team."

"Oh Mario, we do things together before we break up." Twilight said. "No harm in being on separate teams."

"Guess not..." Mario nods.

"And don't worry, Mario." Nya said with a grin. "Whatever vests we receive, the important thing is helping Ponyville get ready for spring."

"I'll take a blue vest, same color as my blanket." Spike remarked sleepily. "Which I think I hear calling my name. 'Spike! Spike! Come to bed!'. Ugh, it's too early."

Twilight, Mario, Nya, Kai, and Comet chuckled to each other just as Mayor Mare appeared before all the ponies.

"Thank you, every pony, for being here bright and early." Mayor Mare said proudly. "We need every single pony's help to wrap up winter and bring in spring."

The ponies cheered as Twilight hopped up and down amongst the crowd of ponies.

"Now all of you have your vests and have been assigned to your teams." Mayor Mare continued. "So, let's do better than last year and have the quickest Winter Wrap Up ever!"

The ponies cheered again.

"Oh, this is so exciting!" Twilight said.

"But it'll take a lot of effort to pull this off." Comet points out.

"No kidding." Mario agrees. "But why did Mayor Mare say every pony has their vests and assigned teams? I never received my notification or my vest."

"Maybe they didn't deliver an assigned vest to you." Nya guessed.

"All right every pony, find your team leader, and lets get galloping." Mayor Mare finished.

"I better go and see if there's anything we can offer to help." Nya informed them. "Maybe we can find time and talk with the Mayor about getting you guys a vest."

"Thanks Nya." Mario and Kai smiled.

They watched Nya takes off to join the other ponies, as a sigh escaped from Mario's lips.

"Well now what do we do?" Mario asks. "I hope this isn't like magic school where I'm stuck having captains telling each other to pick me."

Suddenly, memories of his days on the track team popped his mind. It didn't exactly haunt him, but made him try not to remember it since he stood up for himself. Mario turns to Twilight, who is rather overwhelmed.

"Oh gosh, where should I go?" Twilight wondered. "I'm not sure where I fit in. What exactly does every pony do?"

It was then the screen went black, and a single spotlight appeared around Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash (Sings):

Three months of winter coolness

And awesome holidays

The spotlight then switching to Pinkie Pie.

Pinkie Pie (Sings):

We've kept out hoovies warm at home

Time off from work to play

The spotlight then switches to Applejack.

Applejack (Sings):

But the food we've stored is runnin' out

And we can't grow in this cold

The spotlight switches to Rarity.

Rarity (Sings):

And even though I love my boots

This fashions getting old

As the spotlight goes from each of the Mane 6, Twilight, Comet, Nya, Kai, and Mario stroll around the town.

Comet Stardust (Sings):

The time has come to welcome spring

and all things warm and green

Twilight Sparkle and Mario Star (Sings):

But it's also time to say goodbye

It's winter we must clean

How can I help? I'm new you see

What does everypony do?

How do I fit in without magic?

I haven't got a clue!

And sure enough, several ponies began to dance and join their respective teams.

Several pegasi take to the air, clearing and moving the unwanted clouds from the sky. Half of which aid the birds on their return trip from the south.

Rainbow Dash (Sings):

Bringing home the southern birds

A Pegasus job begins

And clearing all the gloomy skies

To let sunshine in

We move the clouds

And we melt the white snow

Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie (Sings):

When the sun comes up

It's warmth and beauty will glow!

Some ponies began collecting the materials for Rarity, while others proceed with the snow removal tasks.

Work for the nests and baskets get underway with Rarity in charge of the process.

Rarity (Sings):

Little critters hibernate

Under the snow and ice

Fluttershy, Rose Lotus, Djali, along with several ponies, help awaken the hibernating animals. They provide some food and even clean their sleeping spaces. Few birds encircle Twilight, Mario, Comet, Nya, Kai, and Spike shortly before flying off.

Fluttershy and Rose Lotus (Sings):

We wake up all their sleepy heads

So quietly and nice

Rarity (Sings):

We help them gather up their food

Fix their homes below

Fluttershy and Rose Lotus (Sings):

We welcome back the southern birds

Rarity, Fluttershy, and Rose Lotus (Sings):

So their families can grow

The ponies proceeded to remove the snow from the trees. Twilight, Mario, Comet, Spike, Nya, and Kai get a load of snow dumped on them. They quickly look up and glare when they find out Rainbow Dash was the one who dropped the snow on them. Comet then throw a snowball at Rainbow Dash in the face in retaliation, laughing and Rainbow Dash glared at her godson.

Some ponies proceed to clear the snow from the farming grounds, allowing the rest to till the land.

No easy task to clear the ground

Apples, carrots, celery stalks

Colorful flowers too

We must work so very hard

The ponies clear their rooftops of all the excess snow.

Three seconds later, each team disappeared. Until at last, Twilight, Mario, Comet, Spike, Nya, and Kai were left alone to decide where to go and which team to help.

"Every pony belongs to a team." Twilight told them. "What should I do? Where should I go?"

"I'm just unsure as you, Twilight." Mario replied. "Maybe..."

ZOOM!

Just then, Rainbow Dash flew by a high speed to the other Pegasi waiting for her in town. She was the captain of the weather team.

"All right team, you're clear to takeoff!" Rainbow Dash ordered.

"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight called out.

As the Pegasi took flight into the air, Twilight and the others caught up with Rainbow Dash.

"Oh hey Twilight, Mario, Comet, what's up?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"What are you doing?" Twilight asked curiously.

"Sending off one of my flight crews to retrieve the birds that flew south for the winter." Rainbow Dash answered.

"Oh, can I help?" Twilight asked eagerly. "How about if I help clear out the clouds?"

"Umm...Twilight." Nya said as she pointed Rainbow Dash's wings, reminding Twilight about a huge flaw with her idea.

"Right..." Twilight remembered. "No wings."

"That's too bad." Mario nods.

Then Rainbow Dash noticed Nya and Kai next to Mario.

"Who's this?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"These are my friends, Nya and Kai." Mario told her. "They're in town to visit me and watch how Winter Wrap Up works."

Rainbow Dash smiled, as she turns to the two.

"Well, it's nice to meet ya." Rainbow Dash said. "The name's Rainbow Dash. Fastest flyer in Equestria and the coolest pony you'll ever meet."

"Not to mention the biggest show off ever." Mario whispered.

Rainbow Dash shot a heated glare at Mario, who just turned away and whistled, faking innocence.

"Sorry, guys." Rainbow Dash said.

Rainbow Dash took off at high-speed, startling the five unicorns as Twilight watched her disappear.

"Great, now what do we do?" Twilight asked.

"I don't know about you." Spike yawned. "But I'm gonna be nappin'."

Spike was soon snoring as Twilight poked his cheek with a hoof.

"Come on, Spike." Twilight retorted. "This is serious business. Winter needs to be wrapped up, and we're determined to do our part. Somehow."

Seeing Twilight looked worried, Comet and Mario strolled beside her.

"Let's keep looking around." Mario proposed. "I'm sure there's plenty to do on the ground."

Twilight smiled as they continued their search.

Soon they found themselves before Carousel Boutique where Rarity was busy working on a project.

"Rarity, please tell me there's something, anything we can do to help?" Twilight asked.

Twilight's tone comes off as nearly pleading as Spike stood between the three mares and the three stallions.

"Well, how would you like to help create Ponyville's finest birds' nest?" Rarity suggests.

"Birds' nest?" Twilight asked, puzzled.

"Why yes." Rarity replied. "When the weather team guides the birds back north for the spring, they'll need a place to lay their eggs."

Rarity represented a nicely made nest made from scratch.

"Wow Rarity, that one's really beautiful." Twilight admired.

"It's amazing!" Mario added.

"Oh, why thank you most sincerely." Rarity said kindly before she noticed Nya and Kai. "Well hello there, who might you two be?"

"We're Mario's friends." Kai introduced themselves to Rarity. "I'm Kai and this is my sister, Nya."

"Would you five like to try your hoof at a nest?" Rarity offers.

"Would I?!" Twilight exclaimed excitedly. "Yes! Where do I begin?"

"Okay. Now...uh, take some straw and hay over there." Rarity instructed, handing the materials to Twilight.

Twilight worked as she listened to Rarity's instructions, or at least tried to.

"Now, weave them through there, yes. Uh, take some ribbon, yes, oh uh, n...not there, yes, uh, tuck it there, uh but be careful not to...I don't know I guess that would do...oh dear."

"There!" Twilight said, pleased with herself. "It looks just like...yours. Oh my."

Twilight noticed that compared to Rarity's work that her nest looked like something a foal might have done for a preschool project.

"That nest needs to be condemned." Spike told her.

"Oh, Spa-ha-hike!" Rarity chuckled. "It's not so bad, ah, maybe birds can use it as a..."

Rarity did her best not to hurt Twilight's feelings, whereas Spike...

"An outhouse?" Spike proposed, earned a smack in the back of his head from Comet.

"Spike!" Rarity, Nya, and Comet said firmly.

Seeing Twilight looked rather upset and hurt, she did her best to cheer her up.

"It's just fine." Rarity said.

Twilight just gave an embarrassed smile.

"Yeah, Spike, it was her first try." Mario added. "I'd like to see you do better."

"Well, what about you, Comet, and Kai?" Spike proposed. "You three are artistic ones."

"Lazy bum." Comet whispered, causing Nya to snickered after hearing it and earned a glare from Spike.

"Fine." Mario and Kai said, accepting his challenge.

They studied Rarity's example carefully and proceeded to gather some materials. They quickly shifted their hooves over the materials, crafting a perfect replica of Rarity's nest in mere seconds. Then they made another, and another, and another...till they made a good three dozen perfect nests. Comet then gives Spike a raspberry, causing the dragon to glare at the little colt.

"It gets easier once you do it over and over again...oh..."

Mario's excitement soon disappeared as Twilight gave him an irritated glare.

"Sorry...I'll stop now."

"Yours is just fine." Rarity assured Twilight. "It's just a little rough around the edges. Let me lend you a hoof."

Rarity pushed Twilight aside, trying to tweak it, but Comet already beat her to it when the bad-crafted nest is now a perfect nest without using magic.

"Is this okay?" Comet asks, showed his godmother the fixed-up nest.

"It's more than okay, darling, it's perfect." Rarity said, smiled at her godson. "Thank you. I'll take care of building more nests."

Rarity then kissed his forehead as she began working more of building the nests.

"Do you think Rarity is okay on her own?" Comet asks.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. Rarity has a sense of fashion." Twilight assured her son. "If she can make dresses, then she can make the nests."

And with that, the five ponies and a dragon left. Twilight is still sad for not making a perfect nest.

Soon the six friends found themselves along the outskirts of Ponyville, where they discovered Pinkie Pie ice skating.

"Helloooooooo, Twilight! Comet! Mario! Wheeeeeee!"

Pinkie Pie called out from the ice as she continued to skate gleefully. Twilight and the gang made their way down toward the lake.

"Wow Pinkie Pie, you're quite the skater." Twilight said. "Probably the best skater I've ever seen."

"I didn't know you were skilled in figure skating." Mario adds, rather impressed.

"Thanks Twilight and Mario." Pinkie Pie answered. "I've doing this since I was an itty-bitty, little-whittle, Twinkie-Pinkie. Just comes naturally, which is probably why they designated me the lake scorer."

"Lake scorer?" Comet asked curiously.

"Sure! I cut lines in the lake with my skates. That way, when the rest of the weather team comes here to break ice, it will be easy as pie."

Pinkie Pie continued to skate about to demonstrate her point.

"How clever!" Twilight said. "When the thick ice begins to melt, it will break along those lines."

"Well, you sure have lots of work ahead of you." Mario adds. "There's quite a few lakes that make up Ponyville."

"Ha! Tell me about it." Pinkie Pie said wearily, then she noticed the two. "Hey, are those guys your friends?"

"Yep." Mario chuckled. "Pinkie Pie, this is Nya and Kai. Guys, this is Pinkie Pie."

"Hello!" Nya and Kai waved to Pinkie Pie who waved back.

Then, Pinkie Pie got an idea.

"Hey, Twilight and Mario, want to help me out?" Pinkie Pie offers.

"Would I?" Twilight replied excitedly for both of them.

"Come on, put on those skates over there." Pinkie Pie said. "I bet you'll be a natural too."

"Okay." Twilight nodded.

Twilight rushed over to gather Pinkie Pie's spare skates. Meanwhile, Mario reached into his own bag.

"Good thing I packed my old pair." Mario replied. "A little bit rusty..."

"Ooh, you shouldn't go skating on rusty skates." Pinkie Pie said. "I think I've got another pair..."

"What he means to say is, his skills are rusty." Kai corrects her. "He hasn't been skating in years."

Mario nodded in agreement as he proceeds to put on some light-blue ice skates along all four hooves.

"Well how about that? They fit!"

Mario worked his way onto the ice, wobbling before getting his balance. But soon Mario was skating as gracefully as Pinkie Pie, who is skating alongside him.

"You are natural." Pinkie Pie said. "Come dance with me."

Mario rolled his eyes before he got an idea.

"If we skate side-by-side, we can make twice as many lines while we dance." Mario proposed.

"What a great idea!" Pinkie Pie replied. "Let's dance!"

Soon the two were enjoying themselves, doing steps, flips, balancing poses, and more together in sync. But poor Twilight had trouble just trying to stand up with her ice skates. She could barely keep her stomach from hitting the ice.

"Um...maybe on second thought..." Twilight began.

"What are you talking about?" Spike protests. "You wanted to be helpful."

"Yippee!"

"Yeah!"

The chortling between Mario Star and Pinkie Pie drew Twilight's attention as she watched them skate across the lake.

"Now get out there." Spike urged.

Spike pushed Twilight forward, but unfortunately, he shoved her so hard she soon skated too fast with little control over her momentum.

"Oh no! Whoa, wow..." Twilight retorted.

Twilight tried to gain control of her momentum on the ice. Seeing their friend in trouble, Pinkie Pie stopped skating while Mario went after her.

"Twilight, steer! Steer!" Pinkie Pie shouts.

Mario managed to keep Twilight from sailing off the ice, but Twilight moved so frantically he was soon holding onto her with his back hooves off the ground.

"Yaaaaa!" Twilight screamed.

Mario tried getting his back hooves on the ice, but it was no use. And the two unicorns skated straight towards Pinkie Pie.

"Oh boy..." Pinkie Pie said.

WHAM!

Twilight collided with Pinkie Pie and all three screamed. Spike was too busy laughing until they collided with him and crashed into the snow. Their collision created a snow-pony made out three snowballs. Spike at the top, followed by Pinkie Pie in the center, and Twilight as the bottom ball. Mario just simply jumped out of the way and landed next to his friends and his godson.

Spike rolled off of Pinkie Pie and Twilight laughing.

"Ha, ha, you are a natural, Twilight!" Spike laughed. "A natural disaster."

"Twilight, you did a great job your first-time around." Pinkie Pie said cheerfully. "I'm sure my first time was just as wobbly and bobbly and crasheriffic as yours."

"Really?" Twilight asks hopefully.

Unfortunately, Pinkie Pie's usual smile went straight.

"No." Pinkie Pie answered point-blank.

Spike chuckled while Mario, Comet, Nya, and Kai gave him a death glare. Needless to say, Twilight felt discouraged.

"But did I make you feel better?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Mm-hmm, yeah I guess." Twilight answered, unable to hide her disappointment.

"I think you'll be super awesome at something that keeps your hooves on the ground." Pinkie Pie suggests. "I know Fluttershy could probably use your help with the others."

"Isn't where Rose and Djali on the animals team?" Comet asks, earned a nod from Pinkie Pie.

"A simple job for simple ponies." Nya declared.

"Well...I'm pretty good with little animals." Twilight said. "Yeah, I'll go help her."

Twilight tried to skate away.

"Uh...it's, ah, that a-way." Pinkie Pie said, points at the opposite direction.

"Yaaaa!" Twilight screamed as Spike laughed.

Mario and Comet angrily dumped a pile of snow on Spike before the stallion skate off to catch Twilight while the little colt leaves. Spike popped out from the snow pile indignantly before catching up with the three ponies along with Nya and Kai.

Naturally finding Fluttershy, Rose Lotus, and Djali were easier to find since they found them near a large collection of holes in the ground. Both Rose Lotus and Djali were able to wake some of the animals up while Fluttershy just used her bell and was now halfway inside a nearby hole.

"Wake up, little sleepy heads." Fluttershy said gently. "Hope you had some wonderful dreams and restful hibernation, but it's time to get up now, spring is coming."

Two little hedgehogs yawned, as they crawled out from their holes.

"Aww, how cute." Twilight said as the hedgehogs walked away.

"Hey guys!" Mario waved to them.

Two of the hedgehogs began to say something in their language to him, but Mario understood what they're saying.

"Ok okay, but just this once." Mario said.

He then did a few jumps for them and rolled like a ball. The two hedgehogs applauded to him.

"Hey, thanks to you guys I can do that." Mario said, waved them goodbye.

"They are cute, aren't they?" Fluttershy replied once Mario finished. "This is my favorite task the whole season when I get to see my little animal friends again."

"Uh, what's 'hibernation'?" Spike asked, uttering the last word slowly.

"Basically, it's a long sleep." Rose Lotus said when she and Djali arrived. "Animals usually hibernate through winter season to save their energy for the next year of spring and eat less food."

"If I remember correctly, bears hibernates during the winter and they eat fish and berries before the hibernation." Comet states, pondered. "However, if they wake up in hibernation, they'll get angry."

"Yes, but sometimes bears can get really grumpy." Fluttershy adds.

"Whoa, wouldn't want that." Spike said. "But still, I definitely like of hibernation. Except for the 'eat less food' part."

"Wake up little porcupines!" Fluttershy called out.

The two porcupines yawned as they went to give each other a hug, but then yelped as they ended up striking each other with their quills.

"Oh, would you just look at all these warrens and dens." Fluttershy surveyed the holes. "I'm worried that I won't be able to wake up every animal before spring comes."

"Well, Mario, Comet, Nya, Kai, and I can help, Fluttershy." Twilight suggests.

"You happily?" Fluttershy said happily. "Oh, that would be wonderful."

Fluttershy handed Twilight a bell. Mario, Nya, and Kai pulled out a spare from their saddlebags, passed it to Comet, and followed Fluttershy toward the other dens. Twilight looked around to decide which hole she wanted to try first.

"Okay, let's start there." Twilight said, making her choice.

Twilight gave the bell in her mouth a light ring.

"Hello?" Twilight called, peeking inside. "Wake up little friends, wherever you are. Spring is coming."

Twilight gave her bell another ring.

"I wonder which cute little furry creatures I've awoken." Twilight said excitedly.

Twilight soon got her answer as three gave her a loud hiss.

"Waaa! Snakes! Snakes!" Twilight yelped.

Twilight quickly backed away right past Fluttershy, Rose Lotus, Djali, Comet, Mario, Nya, and Kai, who had just taken care a couple of dens when Twilight went by and right into a large cave. Twilight raced out screaming as some bats flew out. Twilight was so focused on running away she crashed right into a tree.

"Ugh!" Twilight grunted.

They looked up as a nearby beehive fell from its branch and landed right onto her head. Twilight screamed again, as she raced away from the pursuing bees toward another hole.

"Ugh!" Twilight groaned.

This time she ran into a hole which belong to a couple of skunks. Spike held his nose and Mario, Rose, and Comet covered their own as the two skunks walked out.

"Good morning, friends." Fluttershy said sweetly.

Twilight just groaned from the inside of the cave.

"I'll get her." Mario said, nasally.

Mario was equipping a gas mask. It didn't help that Twilight screamed when he saw him earlier. But once she realized it was Mario, she let him carry her back to the library...but not after smacking him for frightening her first.

In the Golden Oak Library, Mario waited while rubbing his sore face as Rose Lotus, Djali, Comet, Nya, and Kai were with him. Spike was with Twilight in the pantry since the only cure for the skunk stink was bathing in cans of tomato juice. Spike busily washed Twilight as she sat in the tub groaning. Not only she reeks, but her face was covered in bee stings.

"All this Winter Wrap Up stuff is a lot harder than it looks." Twilight sighed. "For most of us..."

The last few words emerged bitterly as Twilight glared outside the door where Mario stood waiting with his friends and his godson. But Spike didn't seem to notice, he kept a pin over his nose to keep the smell from entering.

"Right, because there's no magic." Spike replied nasally. "Why don't you just use magic, Twilight, and get it done right away?"

"No, no, no!" Twilight retorted. "I'm gonna find some other way even if it kills me."

"I wouldn't joke about that, Twilight." Mario replied outside of the door.

Though, it didn't help since the door didn't block out any of the conversation.

"You stay out of this!" Twilight yelled angrily.

Spike shook his head as he dumped another can of tomato juice on her head. Mario sighed as Nya put a comforting hoof on his shoulder. Until Twilight emerged so Comet went inside and spread her face with honey because it's a nature remedy.

Once Twilight was healed and all cleaned up, they quietly made their way towards the Sweet Apple Acres.

"Keep pushin', Caramel!" Applejack called, from a distance. "That's it, Bumpkin! I know it's hard work, but you guys are doin' great. Yee-haw!"

"Hey Applejack!" Twilight called, as she, Nya, Rose, and the boys arrived. "How's everything going?"

"Oh just dandy." Applejack replied. "A little slow startin', but peachy all the same. There's a lot of ground to clear, ya hear? We can't even start the plantin' and the waterin' until we git all this heap of snow hightailed outta here."

Then she turned to see Mario's friends behind him.

"Well howdy there, you two." Applejack greeted them, tipped her hat. "Ah'm Applejack, who are you?"

"I'm Nya. This is my brother, Kai. We're Mario's friends." Nya greeted her with a smile.

"So, these are yer friends, Mario?" Applejack asked her brother.

"Eeyup." Mario answered.

"Huh, Ah guess Ah could ask for some help here." Applejack suggests. "Would any of you care to help us with that?"

Comet then noticed that somepony is missing when he looks around.

"Hey Applejack? Where's Apple Shine?" Comet asks when he got hit in the head by a snowball, turns with a glare. "Hey!"

The one who threw a snowball was none other than Apple Shine as she laughed. Pear Butter and Bright Mac walked next to their granddaughter with a chuckle.

"Apple Shine! Never throw a snowball when some pony wasn't looking!" Mario scolds his niece.

Apple Shine couldn't help but shrugs and was about to help when Comet used his magic to throw a snowball right back at her.

"Ugh!" Apple Shine grunts, lands on the snow.

Comet then laughed after he got his payback. Apple Shine however, got up while placing her hat on her head and turns to Comet with a glare.

"Oh yeah?!" Apple Shine growled as she then throws a number of snowballs.

Comet and Mario dodged a number of snowballs, but Applejack, Twilight, Nya, Kai, and Spike got hit in the face by snowballs which it turns into a snowball fight. Comet teams up with Twilight, Nya, Kai, and Rose while Apple Shine teams up with her mother, her uncle, and her grandparents. Both Twilight and Mario used their magic to form a snow wall while throwing snowballs at each other which it got the Earth ponies attention, cheering for each side. Poor Spike got hit by a number of snowballs while Pear Butter then got hit in the face by a snowball and Djali managed to take cover.

"Direct hit!" Kai shouts cheerfully.

"No outside force could stop us." Nya states with a smirk.

Bright Mac and Mario then threw their snowball and hit Kai square in the face.

"Y'all should surrender now, give up now and we'll show ya mercy." Applejack suggests with a playful smirk.

"Never! Open fire!" Twilight cried out and her group fired a couple of snowballs at the Apple family.

The Earth ponies couldn't help but laugh while cheering at the scene. Comet then conjure up a bigger snowball as he threw at the Apple family, but Mario used his magic to conjure a barrier as it buried them. Twilight and the others approaches the snowball, hoping the Apple family were alright, but Applejack merged out of the snowball and lunged at Comet and Rose.

"Gotcha, ya little rascals." Applejack states, tickling the two. "How'd ya like them snowballs, ya little whippersnappers."

Pear Butter, Bright Mac, Apple Shine, and Mario merged out of the snowball while they, Twilight, Nya, and Kai watching Applejack tickling the two foals.

"Hey...Hey...No fair!" Comet laughed.

"Applejack...stop!" Rose Lotus laughed also.

Applejack then decided to stop, had enough fun for now because the Earth ponies now gone back on plowing the snow away since it got them entertained from the snowball fight.

"Somethin' tells me they've been watchin' us throw snowballs." Bright Mac states. "It got their attention and cheerin' for the both of us."

"Ah think yer right, dear." Buttercup agrees. "And Ah wonder why?"

After Pear Butter turns to the two foals with a smirk, Comet and Apple Shine responds with a raspberry which it got her chuckled. Applejack, Twilight, Rose Lotus, and Nya giggled at their reaction along with Mario, Bright Mac, and Kai. Twilight then turns to Applejack since she remembered why she was here, except for the snowball fight part. Mario, Nya, and Kai decided to help the Earth ponies by clearing the land with their chi instead of magic. Applejack can tell the three are using chi which it may not count as magic, but she decided to let it slide.

"Anyway, I'd like to help." Twilight offered.

"Well, I...I dunno Twilight." Applejack said with uncertainty.

"Just give me a chance." Twilight proposed with a toothy smile.

"Well, Ah never turn down a hard worker, but..."

Applejack didn't get the chance to finish as Twilight walked over to the snowplow and climbed into it.

"Ugh...ugh!" Twilight struggled, gasping.

Comet knew his mother never have used a snowplow before because she used to isolate herself in books back in Canterlot, watching Twilight tried to move the snowplow forward, but she couldn't get it to budge. She stopped for a second and looked back. Spike, Comet, Apple Shine, Rose Lotus, Applejack, Pear Butter, and Bright Mac shook their heads. It was then Twilight remembered what Spike said:

Think of how much quicker they could wrap up winter with your magic.

Twilight still wasn't sure till the three unicorns zoomed past her at high speed. Her hesitancy seemed to disappear once she saw the three unicorns easily clear the snow without a snowplow.

"I could use a come-to-life spell." Twilight told herself, making her horn glow. "Here goes..."

Soon the snowplow began to move on its own at a steady pace. Twilight moved at the same speed just to avoid suspicion. The Earth ponies thought something was off and NOT because she was a mare. Comet, Apple Shine, and Rose Lotus managed to catch on what Twilight is doing, know who's responsible for telling her to use magic. Applejack caught something was off as well along with Pear Butter and Bright Mac.

"Hmm...she's awful strong for such a little pony." Applejack remarked suspiciously.

Spike noticed the faint glow and smiled.

"That's my girl, following my advice." Spike said.

"And what in tarnation does that mean?" Applejack asked, glaring at him.

Apple Shine tapped her shoulder which it got her mother's attention. Comet whispered to Applejack's ear, telling her what Spike have told his mother. Applejack then confirms her suspicions and turns to Spike with a glare since he came up with an idea.

But before Spike could answer, Twilight suddenly realized her snowplow was picking up the pace. Soon it was pushing her forward and she couldn't control it anymore. It got Comet noticed with a gasp as he then makes his horn glow while try to concentrate on a magic that can stop the snowplow.

"Uh-oh!" Twilight gasped. "Slow down. Slow down!"

But it was no good, her snowplow spiraled out of control. She barely avoided the other stallions and soon found herself creating a large snowball in front of her plow. Twilight tried to regain control, but because she couldn't see, she was about to end up colliding with Spike, Applejack, Bright Mac, Pear Butter, Rose Lotus, Apple Shine, and Comet. Luckily, Comet manage to concentrate enough and used his magic to cancel Twilight's magic, stopped the snowplow just in the nick of time.

Applejack and the others sighed with relief, but Comet stumbled back a little with a heavy pant.

"Is every pony alright?" Mario asks when he, Nya, and Kai approaches them.

"We are now, thanks to Comet." Apple Shine answered.

Twilight then turns to her son, who's panting heavily for using that strong magic as she rushes toward Comet.

"Are you okay?" Twilight asked, worried.

"I could ask you the same thing." Comet said. "Are you?"

"I am, because you used strong magic to stop me." Twilight said. "Why'd you do that? You know you're not ready to use a magic that high."

"Because...I don't want you...you stressed out...or get into trouble...from Spike's idea." Comet panted. "Mom, I know you wanted to wrap winter up and help, but...you just can't use magic nor try to do things you don't know. I get that it's your first time and I understand you're stressed for not helping, but it takes time and patience."

Twilight is starting to understand what Comet is telling her and he was right.

"He's right about that, Twi." Applejack agrees. "Listen, ya can't use magic 'round here. Ah am upset when ya use that, but Ah'm not mad at you."

"You're not?" Twilight asks.

"Comet told me everythin', and Ah mean everythin'." Applejack confirms, turns to Spike with a glare. "But Twi, have you ever thought about learn' somethin' new besides magic?"

"Well, I don't think so." Twilight pondered. "But Applejack, what does it have to do with Winter Wrap Up?"

"Quite a bit actually." Nya said, approaches her. "Like me, Kai, and Mario, we were learning martial arts and elements, but it doesn't stop us for learning something new."

"Like what?" Rose Lotus asks.

"Besides ice-skating, building nest, and plowing the snow? Anything you can learn, once you put your mind into it." Kai answered with a smile.

"We all have strengths and weaknesses, Twilight. We just gotta learn from it." Comet adds.

Twilight can tell they're right of their statement, smiled at her son.

"How were you able to get so wise at the early age?" Twilight asks, hugging her son. "You really have your old fathers' spirit."

Comet then embraced his mother with a smile.

Kai then used his magic to levitate Spike and buried him in the large snowball, as he and his sister hoof-bump. Twilight and Comet then breaks a hug when Applejack spoke.

"Why don't y'all head back to Ponyville? We'll handle it from here." Applejack suggests.

And with that, Twilight and the others head back to Ponyville while Rose Lotus and Dajli head back to Fluttershy to help wake the animals up. The Apple family then get back to work by clearing the snow from the fields.

It was late afternoon when Nya instructed Twilight to make a nest while Comet helped his mother. Kai and Spike were watching them practicing since Twilight did make a bad work on the first one last time which Rarity gladly lend them a hoof. Twilight was able to make a couple of dozens of nests, with a little help from her son and her friends. Mario stayed behind in Sweet Apple Acres to help his family clearing the snow.

"You're getting better at it, Twilight." Nya said. "Sure, you made mistakes a little, but that's why we're here."

"Thanks, Nya." Twilight thanked her.

"And besides, some ponies just can't see it that well." Kai states. "Yeah, it may have made you cheat the other way around back at Sweet Apple Acres, but you tried."

Twilight understands what Kai is telling her, mostly because Spike came up with the hair-brained idea of using magic and she uses it back at Sweet Apple Acres.

"Only because someone came up with some reckless idea." Comet said, turns to Spike with a glare. "Spike, you may be smart enough to cheer somepony up, but you only made it worse when they were clearly your doing to begin with. And you're terrible at it."

"Not to mention your idea nearly made a mess up things, if Comet wasn't able to stop his mother." Rarity adds with a glare of her own.

Spike bowed his head in shame, knowing they're right.

"But lack of sleep or not, your sensitivity on Twilight is way off." Nya said with a stern glare.

"Like Mario's?" Twilight snapped. "Always acting like everything's so easy! While he makes me look like a big goof?!"

"Hey, ease off the guy, will ya!" Kai said. "It's not like he's doing it on purpose!"

"Mom, please, don't be mad at him. Mario's not doing it on purpose, he couldn't help it if these jobs are easy for him." Comet assures his mother. "He didn't expect you to hate him for it."

Twilight just released a long, heavy sigh as she turns to her son.

"I don't hate him, sweetheart." Twilight said softly. "It's just I..."

"Rainbow Dash, y'all on the weather team need to melt the rest of the snow here on the ground and the trees, pronto!" Applejack ordered a few feet away.

Twilight and the others turn towards Applejack, Mario, Apple Shine, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash at the town hall with curiosity. Apparently, something was up as Applejack, Mario, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy stood outside town hall.

"Got it!" Rainbow Dash replied.

Rainbow Dash went to take off but was then stopped.

"Wait!" Fluttershy said. "My poor little animals' homes will get flooded if the snow melts too fast."

"Got it!" Rainbow Dash replied again.

Rainbow Dash went to leave but was stopped...again.

"I'm tellin' ya, Rainbow." Applejack said, losing patience. "Ya gotta melt that snow now."

"No, you simply must wait." Fluttershy said.

"Okay!" Rainbow Dash said.

But there was no doubt, Rainbow Dash was unsure what to do now.

"Go!" Applejack ordered.

"Stop!" Fluttershy said after.

"Go!"

"Stop!"

"GO!"

"STOP!"

"Ugh! Make up your minds!" Rainbow Dash snapped loudly.

Before things could heat up further, Mayor Mare arrived to investigate the dissension amongst the town-ponies.

"Oh! What in Equestria are you all arguing about?" Mayor Mare demands. "This sort of silliness is why we were late for spring last year, and the year before that, and the year before that."

"Did she say late?" Twilight, Nya, Kai, and Comet said in unison.

This is quite a surprise for the four unicorns as they continue to listen since this had happened before.

"I was hoping my amazing inspirational speech would urge everyone to do better than last year." Mayor mare continued. "But now it looks like we're going to be later than ever. I mean just look at this catastrophe! The ice scorers made the chunks too big to melt..."

Pinkie Pie just shrugged her shoulders sadly, not understanding what went wrong.

"...The nest designer is horrendously behind, we need several hundred, and she's only made one...oh wait...39...but still not enough..."

Rarity may have got some help from Nya, Mario, and Comet, even Twilight was able to make some more. However, Rarity still needs a helping hoof.

"...And don't get me started on all the clouds in the sky, the icicles on the trees..." Mayor Mare said worriedly. "This isn't good, not at all."

"And it's gonna be to pieces disastrous if we can't get our seeds planted." Applejack adds.

"Chillax Applejack!" Rainbow Dash replied. "We're bustin' our chops as fast as we can."

"No, not fast!" Fluttershy warned. "We have to wake the animals slowly."

It was then Big Macintosh arrived with Caramel by his side, looking glum and nervous.

"Uh, AJ?" Big Mac called his sister.

Applejack looked at Caramel's face, knowing what happened.

"Oh, good gravy!" Applejack retorted. "Caramel lost the grass seeds again, didn't he?"

Caramel just gave an apologetic look.

"Eeyup." Big Mac answered for him.

"Ditzy Doo accidentally went north to get the southern birds!" A Pegasus named Rainbowshine grunted.

"Oh, this can't be good." Nya said worriedly.

"Oh, that featherbrain!" Rainbow Dash replied with annoyance. "Didn't she learn her lesson last year when she went west?"

Soon the ponies appeared, grumbling and complaining to each other, but not for long.

"Stop this at once!" Mayor Mare said sternly. "We don't have time to argue. It's almost sundown. Spring is going to be late again. Another year of scandal and shame. If only we could be more organized."

"Well now what do we do?" Kai asks sternly. "We'll never make it in time!"

It was then Twilight got an idea.

"Spike! Get my checklist and clipboard, STAT!" Twilight said.

"Eh, yes ma'am!" Spike replied.

"Mario, I need you!" Twilight called him when Mario rush towards her. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Mario turned toward Twilight's face, taking a moment to think...then he smiled in realization.

"Let's do this!" Mario answered confidentially.

Twilight gives him a quick hug, making him blush a bit before she addressed the other ponies.

"Stop, every pony!" Twilight called out.

But she could not be heard amidst all the arguing.

"Stop!" Twilight tried again, as Comet came up with an idea.

All the ponies in town were still arguing when...

UUWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Comet used a Banshee Scream spell, screaming loud and strong. Every pony covered their ears from the loud scream, turns to face the colt. Comet then stopped when he canceled the spell and neither of the ponies appreciated from that loud scream.

"What the hay did you do that for?!" Rainbow Dash demands, rubbing her ears. "That scream is hurting our ears!"

Twilight then decided to cut in, addressing the ponies.

"I know you all want to complete your jobs on time, but arguing is no way to go about it. What you need is organization, and I'm just the pony for the job."

With the clipboard in one hand, quill in the other, Spike was ready for action.

"So...what do I do?" Mario asked.

"Well, since you and your friends seem to be good at a ton of jobs." Twilight said. "I need someone who can manage and supervise each job. Just so they get done quickly and correctly. Can I count on you three to do that?"

"No problem!" Kai smirked.

The first step was gathering all the materials needed to create the nests for the southern birds. With Mario, Nya, Kai, and Comet's help, Rarity and several other ponies made sure the nests were made and positioned in all their proper spots in the trees.

Then, Twilight, Mario, Nya, and Kai worked together to create a routine to help Pinkie Pie and her group cut the ice into proper sized chunks. Of course, this got the ice cutting done in just a couple trips across the ice.

Back at Sweet Apple Acres, the Apple family began to coordinate the stallions pulling the snowplows to clear the snow side by side. As the snow cleared, another group of ponies dropped the seeds into the fresh soil behind them. Applejack was very satisfied with the work, shared a high hoof with Twilight Sparkle.

Twilight tasked, Mario, Nya, Kai, Comet, Rose Lotus, and Djali to tie together multiple bells over each underground den. This was when Fluttershy pulled the ropes, she was able to wake all of the animals at the same time. Twilight gasped as a set of familiar snakes slithered by, while Mario, Comet, Spike, Fluttershy, Nya, Kai, Rose Lotus, and Djali smiled at the snakes. Then they noticed Twilight had disappeared until they looked up and found her trembling as she held a tree branch. She just smiled sheepishly until Mario stood on his hind legs and held out his fore-hooves so she could come down. Mario caught her and gave her a warm smile as he held her in a bride position, while Twilight rolled her eyes tried to look annoyed, but the blush on her cheeks says otherwise. Comet and Rose Lotus snickered a bit which it got Twilight annoyed when she threw some snowballs at them. She then laughed in satisfaction, but not for long when both the foals threw the snowballs at her square mark in the face.

With a shrilling whistle, Fluttershy gave the signal from Rainbow Dash to summon her team of weather ponies. By working together, they created a horizontal cyclone that sucked up all the surrounding snow off the ground, the trees, and even far away hills and mountain tops. It also helped clear away the winter clouds thereby allowing the late afternoon sun to set brightly in the sky. Just in time since the sun was able to successfully break the ice on all the lakes as well.

Even after the sunset and nighttime fell, all of the ponies were hard at work farming and tilling the land, so all the crops were planted and ready to grow. Even Mayor Mare and Twilight pitched in, bringing the additional supplies needed.

And it ensured everything would be set to go by the time the sun returned to the sky.

By the next morning, the Pegasi in charge of bringing all the southern birds arrived. The birds happily made their way towards the finished nests and settled into their new homes. All the other springtime animals like frogs, turtles, and lots of butterflies had also made their return to Ponyville. Back at Sweet Apple Acres, the ponies busily watering the grounds, so the plants had what they needed to start producing new crop of fruits and vegetables.

Twilight stood just outside the outskirts of Ponyville, as Mario walked beside her. It was a long, hard effort but at last their work was done. Apple Shine, Comet, Rose Lotus, and Djali were completely exhausted and tried after the hard work, they were in their homes for the well-deserve sleep. Mayor Mare approached the two unicorns.

"I can't believe it." Mayor Mare said. "Spring is here! On time! And we have you two to thank for it. If it weren't for your organizing skills and Mario's supervising skills, we would still be arguing."

"Eeyup." Big Mac agreed as all of the ponies laughed.

"It was a team effort." Twilight replied.

"Just happy to do our part." Mario nods with an agreement.

"And since you two helped every team, we have an official vest for each of you." Mayor Mare said. "We give Twilight the title: 'All-Team Organizer' and for Mario 'All-Team Supervisor'."

Rarity used her magic to equip each vest on the two ponies. Twilight's vest was blue and green with golden yellow edging around the neck and button line. Mario's was of similar design, except in shades of crimson and grey with a white edging. The two ponies smiled at their new vests.

"Gosh, I don't even know what to say." Twilight said, surprised.

"Thank you, every pony!" Mario said in amazement.

"And hereby I declare the winter is...wrapped up on time." Mayor Mare said.

Every pony cheered for Twilight and Mario, among them Nya and Kai cheered proudly.

It was then Applejack noticed Spike disappeared, and soon she found out where he was. Apparently, Spike fell asleep...right on the top of a lone chunk of ice.

"Spike's sure gonna be in for a hog-sized surprise when the last piece of ice melts." Applejack chuckled and every pony laughed.

Later that day, Twilight and Mario were back in the library. Just as Applejack predicted, Spike realized his mistake, but ended up getting a common cold from sleeping on ice flow and falling into the cold water. Now he sat by Twilight's fireplace, bundled up in a robe, as he wrote a letter to the Princess. He was also doing his best to make sure his sneezing didn't actually burn up or send the note before he could finish.

Dear Princess Celestia,

Winter Wrap Up was one of the most special things Mario, Comet, and I have ever been a part of here in Ponyville. It helped us learn that we all have hidden talents, and if we're patient and diligent, we're sure to find them, and as always, with good friendship and teamwork, ponies can accomplish anything.

"How's that sound, Spike?" Twilight asked. "Spike?"

Twilight turned and found Spike had fallen asleep again, he was snoring with the letter still in his hand.

"Oh, Spike." Twilight and Mario said together.

The two unicorns shared a good laugh, the letter itself could wait awhile. Twilight then turned to Mario.

"Mario...I want to say I'm sorry for being such a pain yesterday." Twilight apologized. "I was trying too hard to get involved and I got a little jealous that you seemed better at something than me. Comet was right, I should've been patient and I even done the opposite and embarrassed myself."

Mario Star turned toward Twilight Sparkle, seeing the regret in her eyes as her face softened.

"Could you...teach me how to build a nest? Maybe...teach how to ice skate?" Twilight asked hopefully.

A small smile slowly formed on Mario's face, as he nodded his head.

"Ask what you will do for me, and I'll do whatever I can to help."

Twilight then smiled, quickly hugged him. The important thing was that spring was finally here.
