Got my 3rd Fused Zamasu before 1 Kai Goku
Atom woke up to a loud buzzing sound. He quickly reached his hand over his body and turned off the alarm clock while yawning. Outside, the sun had still not risen while he got changed into an red/orange gi with the symbol for 'turtle' placed on his chest and back.
He wrapped a thick obi around his waist and straightened out the fabric before walking out of the house, tapping his shoes to check the size on his way out.
"I'll be back soon." He said.
"Good luck." Turtle lazily called out, having been awoken by the buzzing alarm. Atom smiled and chucked a thumbs up back before hopping onto the grass and walking towards the post office.
A large sack was waiting out the front of the building as Atom planted his feet in front of the bag and hefted it up. "I've got the bag Mr. Kori!" He yelled out, running away before the man could preach about his volume so early.
Atom quickly ran up the street, placing a newspaper in every mailbox while dashing side to side to hit every house. His speed had vastly improved over the past 3 weeks, at such a terrifying rate, Roshi had even thought of reducing the workload as to slow his progress, but his pride in his student stopped him.
In just under 3 hours, Atom was standing triumphantly at the top of his final house, a large amount of sweat coating his face but not looking any worse for wear.
He pulled out a phone from the inside of his obi and checked the time. "Just past 4, perfect!" He cheered, looking up to the sky and putting his hands up to his mouth.
"KINTO UN!"
The sounds of a propeller filled the air as a yellow cloud burst through the skyline, stopping right in front of him. "Hey bud, how're you doing?"
The cloud seemed to bob up and down before Atom smiled and hopped on. "Let's go back home." He said, the cloud vibrating before blasting into the air and soaring above the island. Just as they reached above the post office, Atom through his empty sack over the side of the nimbus, watching it slowly fall on top of the roof of the building.
Atom and his vehicle slowly descended above the house of master Roshi. The yellow cloud screeched to a halt at the door, with Atom politely knocking before swinging open the door and floating inside. Turtle shuffled away form the couch and waved while Roshi seemed to still be knocked out on the couch, a dirty magazine covering his face.
Atom sighed and put some water in the kettle sitting by the sink. The floating cloud vacated the house and returned to the skies while Atom prepared Roshi's coffee.
The boy placed the warm cup of coffee on the living room table before slapping Roshi awake. "Drinks ready Master." The old hermit sat up slowly, looking at the cup of coffee before collapsing back on the couch and falling asleep.
Several tickmarks appeared on Atom's head as he grabbed the cup and poured it over Roshi's head. "You said you'd teach me today!" He growled, watching as Roshi ran around like a headless chicken to escape the scalding liquid covering his head.
Turtle laughed before Roshi shoved his head in the sink and poured cold water over his scalp. "You little brat! An old man needs his sleep!"
"You still have another few hundred years left old timer, now teach me the Kamehameha!"
"It takes more than a day to learn it!"
Atom blew a raspberry before they both began to laugh out loud. Roshi removed his head from the sink, it still being hot pink in colour before fashioning himself a new cup.
"You aren't ready to learn the Kamehameha yet." Roshi said in between sips.
Atom huffed and crossed his arms. "You said that yesterday but didn't tell me what I was doing wrong."
"Because I don't repeat myself, but I will now, your use of ki is too practical, think more flexible."
"It's not that easy you know."
"I do know, that's why I know you can do it."
Atom clicked his tongue before walking out of the house. Roshi sighed while Turtle looked at him with a questioning gaze. "He's mad because it's the only thing he's stuck on, after 3 weeks he can barely form a ball, let alone a constant beam." Roshi said.
"Then why don't you help him?" Turtle asked, looking outside the window as Atom groaned again.
"He needs to figure it out himself, everyone thinks of ki differently, and I'd only be inhibiting him by implanting my own ideas. I've given him the foundation, nothing more."
Turtle nodded before looking outside again. "I'm kind of worried though."
"As am I." Roshi responded, idly turning on the TV to watch more women's yoga.
Scene break!
"Damn!" Atom shot out his hand again as a flaccid ball of energy dropped from his hand onto the ground, singing the grass slightly. "You're supposed to shoot!"
He had tried everything, imagining a cannon like force behind his hand, making his fingers into a gun, throwing it like a baseball, but the thought never crossed him that, maybe instead of wondering how this magical energy worked, he used it like a tool and focused on the end result he wanted.
Atom was far too focused on the physics and properties of ki to acknowledge it as what it was, magical. He threw out his hand again and another droopy sphere formed, burning the ground even further.
He stuck his foot in the grass and kicked up a mound of dirt, huffing before walking into the town to cool off, something he had been doing more and more over the past week.
Stores were just starting to open up, the day nearing 7:00 am. Atom stopped in front of a magician's hut, where several kids were sitting around and watching a man conduct magic of their wildest dreams.
The wonderous, mystical nature of these tricks energised these children to think more freely than ever before, if he could make a ball teleport, why couldn't they? What else could they move? These questions floated around openly, there wasn't any logic to it, just pure childish imagination.
Atom found himself frozen watching the show, he had passed it dozens of times before, but this time, it really drew him in. Soon he found himself sitting among the sea of children, watching cards fly, rabbits disappear and cups float.
Sure, he understood the logic behind the trick, fishing wire on his finger, quick sleight of hand, and other simple things, but that wasn't what he wanted to see.
'You don't need to understand it, it just needs to work!' He thought, a lock being opened in his brain brought forward hundreds of new ideas in a tidal wave of imagination. Atom stood up with a smile and jogged back to Roshi's house, stopping in front of the lawn, and spreading his palms out in front of him.
Roshi's eyes widened as his ki sense erupted in alerts, the rising power from outside drawing him to the window. "KA!" Atom screamed, teal energy collecting from the air to his whim.
"ME!" He wretched his arms back, like preparing a crossbow for firing, his aura exploded in bright light, appearing spiky with white electricity crackling off of his being.
"HA!" Atom's hands barely contained the raw energy from the technique, but the power contained within was nothing to scoff at even with the lack of control.
"ME!" He began to push his arms forward, quick as lightning before he screamed syllable, his body facing the ocean and the morning sun shining over the water.
"HAAA!" His palms shot forward, a cone of energy erupting from his hands. The wind blew furiously around him as the spiralling blue beam expanded, crossing over the beach and towards the ocean. His aura spiked even further, causing cracks in the ground before it collapsed in an instant, leaving the boy on the ground with a smile.
Roshi rushed out of the house with a smile, bringing the boy into his arms. "You did it! You really did!" Atom smiled weakly and coughed. "Obviously I did! Did you doubt me for even a second?"
A single bead of sweat dropped from Roshi's forehead as Turtle reached into his back pocket and pulled out a 1,000 zeni note. "Not at all!"
Roshi let go of the boy, who began to laugh loudly while looking to the clouds. "I DID IT!" He screamed, leaving Roshi smiling at his pupil. "There's still more time until you're supposed to leave, I hope you won't waste it."
"And why the hell would I? I just made a huge breakthrough! I need to capitalize off of this!"
'There's the scientist.' Roshi thought with a smile, waving off the boy before heaving him up to his feet and dragging him inside. "You must have used a lot of ki on that technique, it was impressive Atom."
"Damn straight it was… how could I let my first be any worse than my best?"
Roshi set Atom up on the couch before bringing a packaged meal from the fridge to him. "Eat and rest, you deserve it." He said, taking a seat next to the boy and continuing to watch his softcore porn.
"Hey Master, what do I do next?" Atom asked.
"That's for you to decide, whether you want to continue to train, develop your ki techniques, practice your control, the world is your oyster Atom."
"What if I want to fight?"
"Then… maybe you should continue to train, find a rival, someone equal to your strength maybe?"
Atom seemed to ponder the thought for a bit before looking at his food and smiling. "I think I'll do it all."
"Hehe, I thought you would say that. In 10 years, no sooner, I want you to find me again, somewhere in the world. I'll measure you strength, and I'll guide you to new heights. But for now, I think your training is done, a week early is impressive."
"Huh?"
"Well, you simply won't gain any real returns from continuing these exercises, and without someone to help you strive, I believe you'll stagnate. So I think its best for you to take a break, whether you want to stay here for the last week, or return early is up to you."
Atom placed his food on the table and stretched. "I'll be back in 10 years you old hermit, make sure you don't die before then."
Roshi smiled and gave Atom a thumbs up. "I won't, but you better be strong by the time you return."
The boy picked up his capsule case and straightened his gi, stepping outside onto the lawn. "KINTO UN!" The same yellow nimbus cloud burst through the sky, stopping right in front of Atom's feet.
"Let's get out of here, we're going to west city bud." He pet the cloud before hopping on. "Cya Master Roshi! Bye Turtle! I'll be back later!" He saw the two wave in response through the window before his ride blew off into the sky at supersonic speeds.
"West city, here we come!" Atom yelled, the wind blowing through his hair as his aura sparked alight in response to his excitement. Who wouldn't be excited, seeing their family for the first time in a month, he had so much to show them.
Back to west city!
Dr. Briefs was up early, well, he hadn't slept all night and was fashioning another cup of coffee to fuel his mind. He looked out the window to see his son staring at him while riding a floating yellow cloud.
The man spat out his coffee, his son laughing his ass off before the cloud left and he jogged inside. "I'm back!" He yelled, tackling Briefs into a hug.
The scientist quickly placed his half empty coffee to the side before receiving his son in an embrace. "You're a bit early, how're you doing Atom, did everything go well?"
"Mhm! I finished everything you told me to, and I learnt a lot as well!"
Briefs smiled and nodded. "Good! Well you must be tired after your trip, so lets get you into a bed."
"I'm not tired!"
Briefs chuckled but pushed the child out of the kitchen softly. "I'm sure you'll appreciate it later, Bulma will freak when she wakes up with you there."
Atom smiled and nodded, catching onto his father's plan. He quickly left the kitchen just as Bikini walked in, wearing a night cap over her head.
"Did I hear Atom?" She asked.
"Yeah, he just came back. I'm getting him to rest a little so you can make your plans quickly."
"Oh, its going to be tough making something that fast, good thing I prepared for his sudden appearance. Neither of you can stick to plans after all."
"Hoho, that is true."
Bikini opened the fridge and pulled out all of the ingredients she would need. "I think chocolate will fit." She said out loud, Briefs nodded in response before reaching into his lab coat and pulling out a packet of cigarettes.
Atom's tail hooked onto the door handle to his and Bulma's room, lightly twisting it so he could gain entry. He could see his sleeping sister's hair flowing over the side of the bed as he snuck into his own.
Atom could barely get to sleep with the excitement from him finally learning how to use ki properly, his mind was becoming malleable, flexible and open to new ideas, something every scientist dreamed of, but the realism of his robotic creations kept him tied down before he could fly away into magician's territory.
Another one so quickly!?
While Atom slept, his ki mellowed out, wrapping around his core, and spreading through his body evenly. Atom's breathing slowed, until he fell into deep sleep, unable to be disturbed.
He was only able to be awoken after 8 hours, when Bikini picked him up and pointed out it was nearing late afternoon. He quickly hopped out of bed and ran into the kitchen, swallowing several people's worth of meals before sprinting into the lab, seeing Briefs working on a new type of invention.
"What're we working on?" Atom excitedly asked. Briefs tilted his head up and pointed over to the blueprint on the table. "That's what you're working on, in your new lab."
"New lab?! Are you sure?!"
"Very, you've shown me enough for you to deserve it. Bulma has one, and now so do you. It's right next to hers so you know where to go."
Atom walked over and picked up the blueprints. "A blutz wave generator?"
"Yes, there was a new plant discovered that requires energy created by celestial bodies like the moon, blutz waves as their called. They want to grow these things 24/7, so they need the generator to fuel them."
"Mm ok." Atom seemed a bit skeptical, but picked up the sheets of paper anyway and began to walk towards his new lab. "For some reason, I have a bad feeling about this." He said out loud.
A lot of these this chapter aren't there?
Roshi picked up a pink capsule from the floor, stashing it in one of his pockets before turning to Turtle. "Let's go back to our island now." He spoke. Turtle nodded and waddled towards the water, letting Roshi take a seat on top of him before he began to rapidly swim through the ocean, passing dozens of small islands on the way until they reached their destination, a small island with a single palm tree and a red beach chair set up on the beach.
"Oh, I forgot to pack that thing up." He said hopping onto the beach and off of Turtle's back. Roshi through the capsule across the island, his home poofing into existence as soon as it touched the ground.
Only a few hours after setting up, Roshi heard a familiar voice call from outside of his house. "Is that you Gohan?" Roshi yelled out, leaving his house to greet the old man on his shore, his airplane sitting behind him.
"Master! It's been a while."
"It has, so what brings you here?"
"I forgot something here last time I came, the power pole!"
"Oh, that old thing? I think I still have it inside, let me check."
Roshi opened a few boxes in his attic, fetching a small red pole with rope surrounding the top and bottom to act as a sash. "Here it is!" He called out, skipping down the stairs and handing the item to Gohan.
"That was fast."
"My latest student wasn't a fan of it after using, so he left it near the front of the storage."
"A new student?"
"Mm, a young man from west city, Atom Briefs. He proved to be quite the prodigy."
"The Briefs family is quite smart they say." He looked back at his Capsule Corp aeroplane.
"Maybe he could become friends with Goku." Gohan pondered.
"Goku?" Roshi asked.
"My adoptive grandson, I found him in the woods, he was in a silver sphere."
Something snapped inside of Roshi's head as he looked towards Gohan. "Does he perhaps have a tail?"
"How did you know?"
"Atom has one as well, and from what he told me about his origins… are they from the same species of alien?"
Gohan shrugged and strapped the power pole around his torso. "I'm not sure, I'll let you meet Goku next time I come!" He called out, boarding his plane while waving.
Roshi waved back and watched the plane fly off before he sat in contemplation. "Aliens… two of them. I'm a bit worried."
It's the last one, trust me!
Atom stepped into his new laboratory, seeing robots lined up, waiting for commands, a list of his own research members, his own employees!
He walked up to one of the robots and turned them on. It was silver with an orange tag "MK XXI" It booted up, the single eye of the machine glowing bright orange before it moved to full size, reaching just over 160cm in height.
"Hello 21, please grab these materials from the storage room." Atom said. The robot looked down at the paper, scanning it with a sensor before speeding off out of the room and down the hall.
Atom activated the next one, this one with a blue tag "MK XXII". It botted up in a similar manner and Atom began to instruct it. "Please research blutz waves and any other uses they may have, along with information on this plant that has been discovered."
The robot moved to a corner and grabbed a cable from its back, attaching to a computer and entering a sleep mode. Atom powered up the final robot he would need for now, having it study his ideas and fix any mathematical problems with the blueprints.
21 soon arrived back with all of the materials on a huge trolley, laying it in the middle of the room and returning to the formation. Atom picked up the first item, a half ring formed from a strong titanium alloy.
"Dad has already written the code for the projector, so all I need to do is build it." He said out loud, attaching the second piece. They were over 2m in diameter, so he had to use ki just to lift the things!
Atom split the pieces away from each other and applied heat resistant adhesive, pushing the two sections back together before welding as an extra precaution.
The boy moved a large sheet of metal under the ring and began to mark out the positions for each electronic component that would fit in the machine.
Atom began to attach an inner layer of glass on top of the ring, slowly connecting it to another ring at the top of the sphere to create a disco ball like object.
He hopped into the top and attached a light inside, slowly piecing together the electronics before attaching hooks for the wires to hang from.
In the middle of the bottom panel, laid the projector of the moon, something Atom stayed clear of as not to ruin it in even the slightest. He connected the last wire, melting the rubber together between several wires so only a single hole would be needed and hopped out of the machine, securing a hatch at the top in case he needed to change something later.
The process of this creation took just over 6 hours, meaning it was nearing 10pm when Atom marvelled at his creation. He walked into the kitchen to see Dr. Briefs heating up the kettle to make another cup of coffee.
"Hey, want to see the finish product?" Atom asked, leaning agains the doorframe.
"The blutz wave generator? Sure." Briefs responded. He followed Atom through the winding halls until they stopped in front of his lab. Atom opened the door and moved the trolley away from the machine, closing the lights before he neared the generator.
"3!"
"2!"
"1!"
"NOW!"
He flicked the switch on and green light filled the room, reflecting off of all of the walls. Briefs looked in amazement and was about to congratulate Atom before he saw the boy keeled over on the ground, his body violently shaking and his tail hairs standing on end.
"Atom, are you okay?"
"U-Urgh, r-run…" He groaned in response, his nails slowly growing through his work gloves and his neck slowly being covered in hair.
"The generator!" Briefs immediately tried to run towards the generator as Atom's body grew, bursting through his coat and pants. Hair stretched across his body as he soon grew to over 10ft tall, blocking Brief's path to the generator.
"Shit!" He yelled, attempting to move around the growing boy. Atom's nose and mouth slowly grew out, and his one red eye changed into an orange one with the other being red.
"D-Dad, RUN!" The boy turned ape growled, hair began to flow furiously from all over his body, the colour the same as his usual hair, a deep green. Briefs quickly escaped the room, sealing the door shut as the metal Atom's lab was made from creaked and groaned.
Bikini and Bulma were suddenly awoken by Briefs, who was grabbing everyone to leave as soon as possible. The got out of the building just as the monkey's head crashed through the ceiling to the building.
"GURAHH!"
Chapter over.
